#zeno's art#i feel so strong 😭 when shes around 😭 she picks me up 😭 when 😭 i 😭 am 😭 down 😭#even i can admit that i love the full theme song. anyway!#for this redesign i also wanted him to feel less generic but in a different way to marinette#i wanted his civilian clothes to look comfortable and stylish so hes like ... a rich boy who doesnt really dress like a rich boy#idk#i got rid of the purple to keep everything cohesive and because it annoyed me#and i tried to make the outfit less simiar to maris too. why were they both wearing nearly matching jacket shirt jeans ensembles???#i also wanted to make his hair look a bit smart with the side part but also a little rebellious with the spiked hair#that also creates a subtle cat ear silhouette.#with the chat noir suit: the original looks very uncomfortable and embarrassing to wear for a 14 year old (i think theyre 14 in the show?)#i remember that one of the designers for itsv said that most teens would be embarrassed wearing a spandex/tight suit if they were superheros#and thats why miles wore shorts and a jacket and shoes over his#so i thought 'ill make chat's suit more comfy'#rather than his weird leather suit its more loose esp in the legs to make an interesting silhouette#the cat scratches on the suit + the messier hair also signify rebellion#and the belt mirrors that of my ladybug redesign#the graident tail is just to match plagg + it looks cool#ok done rambling!#miraculous ladybug#mlb#adrien agreste#chat noir#cat noir#plagg#zag studios hire this man

a design (and short entry) for uriel! uriel, meaning “god is my flame”, is the archangel who rules over intellect and divine inspiration. additional character info (+ an enraged palette) under the read more!
- uriel is often seen covered in the flames of the holy spirit, but they have dimmed considerably since he entered his meditation
- his wings appear somewhat shabby compared to the other archangels, as he often forgets to preen in-between his reading and contemplation
- he is rather aloof and tends to be blunt, although he doesn’t really mean any harm by it
- tactics: uriel fights exclusively with powerful magic much like virtues, and will attempt to stay at long-range as his defenses and health are lacking. if he’s not given his personal space, he will eventually become enraged - while in this state he will move more erratically, fire off more quickly, and instantly teleport away whenever v1 gets within melee range, making him impossible to heal off of

saw a stock photo of a cougar with an absolutely gorgeous face pattern and just HAD to turn it into a character. not sure what to call him yet...
#my art#the design was a bit trickier than i anticipated#the animal in the photo only really had the silver on his face while the rest of his body was regular tawny#but that looked kinda goofy in the flat-markings style; his head looked out of place#so i tried incorporating highlights of silver fur elsewhere while still keeping it minimal#to make it more cohesive while still matching the photo that inspired it#but was really struggling to make it look good#finally i just stopped trying to be faithful to the photo (except for the face of course)#and the more i embraced the silver the better he looked#so now he is a mostly silver cougar ig ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#anyways#lowkey tempted to make him myla's mate or smth....we shall see

It took me quite some time to learn how to draw chubby characters but it's so satisfying to have eventually. ( *`u*) (I mean, there's still so much to learn, but still.)
Having a chubby main protagonist is so wonderful to have. And a good kid at that. (Ngl I'm attracted to kindness. haha So of course it's very important to me that he's fat AND kind.)
Also design-wise, I personally think it fits his character so well. Soft and huggable, shaped like a friend. Thick arms to hug people with snuggly. Body wide like a shield. etc. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And I just really like to capture these elements when I draw him as an adult. Also that it's just fun to draw.
Simply personal thoughts about it, nothing against any other ways he's being portrayed by others of course.

every time i see something of the new hades game im just. well. 🤐
#i don't wanna be a hater of a game that is still in testing. but...#the character art ive seen. I Did Not Particularly Like. Okay.#one of the uh. skeleton guys. the training guy. his design i just thought was straight up really bad and not cohesive at all. blehh.#and wheeerrreee did the cool dramatic lighting goooo. the portraits look so flat#and how is aphrodite EVEN skinnier. and apollo looks so ashy.#the first game also kinda had a problem with making any dark skinned characters super ashy#im sure the game will be pretty fine probably. i just..dont really like a lot of what ive seen of it lol#.txt#i WILL say. i do like hephaestus. but im biased because ive always dug that guy#this is just like. from an art direction perspective im sure the gameplay will be pretty tight. thats what kept me#coming back to the first game despite the shortcomings i found in it. it felt soo good to play.

#mononoke#kusuriuri#im not sure if i prefer one design over the other atm#i like the facial proportions of og kusuriuri more but i like that nusu (lol) has proper kimono sleeves#the round sleeves kinda bother me though they can be handwaved because hes just a weird guy out of time out of place#i like the more subdued coloring of the original but the neon is growing on me and the new palette is more cohesive#crazy to call his coloring subdued but compared to nusu it really is#anyway well just have to see#i do prefer his red obi though it kind of looks like the new one is just plain purple and with no obiage?????????#really hard to tell though there isnt a good full body shot. damn those beautiful sleeves#anyway looking forward to it!!

'Costumes' in fantasy setting medias that are literally straight from the runway feel so lazy to me tbh. Costumes that are inspired, even Heavily Inspired, are fine however because they become something new through the process of planning (and making) and contribute more genuinely towards the story.
Straight from runway picks are just a waste of a costume spot at best and product placement at worst

edgeworth's post 7yg design would be perfect if it just were slightly different. i know what i have to do
#red.txt#i have like two problems with it but they distract me so much from the cool design idea itself#its so good i love it conceptuallu#but they missed a few details that made the original so good#mainly#his name is EDGEworth. he should have edges in his design. bring back his shoulder pads.#its weird that the blazer is small on the shoulders but big on the bottom i cant explain why#but he needs more sharp edges#just for cohesiveness#again. conceptually its really good. it just needs adjusments#im desensitized to the cravat honestly im geniuenly over how awful it looks i feel like ive been manipulated into thinking its good

I generally love the nen powers and the caa designs but I do think shoot's is um. overdone. there's too much going on visually and what he can actually do is concealed by all the other shit going on. it's not initially clear what is attack is (which is fine) but even after you know what he can do it's confusing and overly elaborate. in my opinion
#idk he always threw me off#glowing green hands and being able to fly and losing your arm when your hatsu is activated is all well and good#but all of it as once is just so busy#and his character deisgn is very striking as well.#like. too much! reign it in!#I said I liked maximalism in design but I don't think his character was done very well#and he has too little personality to make him memorable as a character besides how he looks#which is odd bc you'd think someone shy and 'cowardly' would have a more reserved personal expression#but his giant robe...the chains...the star tattoos...it's not very cohesive is all from a character design standpoint#hxh rewatch
