all the normal people create lore for side characters that turn up for one event and didn't even get a live2D model. anyways, Hibiki Miyake headcanons!!
firstly: this is the main silly headcanon, that he and Kohane are related, cousins probably- same demeanour, same vibes, same creatureness, similar face. bad eyesight runs in the family too
he lives with Kohane's family because he's orphaned. his mother and her father were siblings
he looks up to Kohane's dad a lot and does a bit of photography too, not as much as the rest of his family though
he's not much taller than Kohane so people always mistake him to be her little brother even though he's a year older
silly coincidence, he has the exact same birthday as Kohane, 2nd of March, just a year before
extremely ironically, he has a phobia of snakes so he avoids being in the same room as Count Pearl at all costs. once, she ended up in his room and he immediately collapsed, then upon waking up, he found that the snake had slithered on him and fainted again. Kohane was apologising for weeks
he lets Kohane drag him along to her visits at PXL, however, he often ends up running into Rui who very sneakily gets him caught up in a conversation and steals him away to watch W x S rehearse. he accidentally ditches her zskcqascngoepsexmpwqeq (shhh it's okay, Kohane can just call An who'll run across the city to accompany her in two minutes)
he's scared of the other VBS members xsidtfncerjitweorspjwpw
speaking of VBS, he wants to support his cousin, but he's too sensitive to noise and crowds to watch their events in person himself, but he still buys tickets and gives them to his friends
he's always telling Kohane about everything that goes down in Kamikou. this disappoints An because Kohane already knows all the drama before she gets a chance to tell her xjkudiguvoirentjepw
An: "Kohaneeeeee, you'll never guess what i caught Kamishiro-senpai doing today!!"
Kohane: "oh, i've heard!! he was disassembling a mean teacher's desk, wasn't he? :)"

VBS didn't know that Kohane had a cousin at Kamikou for agessssssss
she wanted to introduce them, especially because they all go to the same school. but that was exactly why Miyake wanted to avoid that because of the anxiety and awkwardness of seeing people you know from school outside of school

he initially went to the same "elite" high school that Rui did in his first year, but left way before him, only a couple of months in, because he was getting bullied
it was said in the last chapter of Pandemonium that he wanted to be friends with Rui but took ages to reach out to him because Rui was always invested in his drones and seemed disinterested in everything else
for this reason, i feel like he regrets not finding the courage to befriend him sooner now that they're no longer in the same class
he goes shopping with Rui, Taniyama and Hayashi on weekends, they're all interested in computers and such
he and Taniyama are both a bit jel that Hayashi got to be in the same class as Rui and Tsukasa for third year
Rui just goes around visiting all his friends who are in different classes (ahem, Nene) and Miyake's always very happy upon seeing his purple friend being silly outside his classroom's window (and then his teacher shoos him away for being distracting)
he's asexual and panromantic
has severe social anxiety and is on the spectrum but undiagnosed (he went under the radar his whole life because he's "quiet") his special interest in technology was why he felt drawn to Rui. autism to autism communication

The Maligned Yuri Bracket's preliminary round is underway!
It will still take me a good deal more time to find or make images for all of these pairings and schedule the polls, so don't expect voting to start up right away. But let's take a look at our contestants anyway!
EDIT: The preliminary round has started! This post will be updated with links to polls as they are posted and results as they come out.
I've decided that all pairings that received more than one submission will automatically be included in the final bracket, since there were so few of them. The remaining pairings have been sorted into 55 matchups of 2-4 pairings each, the winners of which will be added to a final bracket of 64.

Em maio de 2023, The House of Suntory Experience realizou pela primeira vez no Brasil uma imersão na cultura, gastronomia e coquetelaria japonesas, como anfitriã de noites exclusivas na Japan House São Paulo, que celebrou os rituais nipônicos a partir de um menu inspirado nos elementos da natureza que uniu culinária e alta coquetelaria moderna e autoral.
Para dar continuidade ao projeto e ao centenário da The House of Suntory, a marca vem realizando uma versão Pop Up da sua experiência, em parceria com os chefs Telma Shiraishi (Aizomê), Denis Watanabe (Watanabe), Makoto Okuwa (Makoto), William Ymamura (Kosho) e Marcelo Fukuya (Kinoshita) que, durante os meses de setembro, outubro e novembro, estão realizando em suas respectivas casas, menus de 4 tempos harmonizados com os rótulos super premium da marca japonesa.
A inspiração do menu gira em torno dos quatro elementos da natureza: a água, o ar, a terra e o fogo, que propõem uma experiência sensorial com interações olfativas e gustativas aliadas à sutileza dos sofisticados destilados da Suntory. Cada etapa gastronômica é harmonizada com um coquetel criado especialmente para o cardápio, e ambos se conectam com o elemento da natureza contemplado naquele momento.
A versão Pop Up, que já passou pelos restaurantes Aizomê, Watanabe, Makoto e Koshō, encerra a série de jantares no Kinoshita, com cardápio disponível entre os dias 01/11 a 04/11 e 08/11 a 11/11,pelo valor de R$650,00 por pessoa.
Localizado na Vila Nova Conceição, zona sul da cidade de São Paulo, o Kinoshita mantém sua tradição na culinária japonesa com grande destaque na capital paulista. A renomada casa, que mantém sua estrela Michelin desde 2015, recebe a The House of Suntory Experience Pop Up como uma forma de celebrar a cultura nipônica. was having a chat with @commic-jester about my silly headcanon that Hibiki Miyake, the side character who befriended Rui during the second-years school trip (the shyer of those three Pandemonium boys) is related to Kohane because they have similar vibes and appearances (my made up lore on him here), and we came up with a very silly little story about a possible scenario that could've happened before VBS knew Kohane had a cousin who was best friends with a certain Rui Kamishiro!!

it was a relatively normal day at the Azusawa household. well, as normal as it could get with Rui Kamishiro in the house, who had come over to visit Hibiki, which had started to become a bit of a regular occurence, the two having become rather close following Hibiki inviting the other boy to his group for a school trip.
initially upon finding out about his newfound friendship, Kohane was quite glad, and secretly a bit relieved- she did not know all of the details as her cousin wasn't one to speak about it, but she was aware that he had always struggled to make friends. in fact, other than herself, the first real ones he made were only last year, in his 2-B class, two boys he called "Hayashi-kun and Taniyama-kun." other than that, Hibiki had been pretty lonely throughout his life due to sharing similar timid tendencies as Kohane- yet, being a boy, he'd been teased for it much more than her.
Kohane could remember some time last year, when Hibiki had come home one day, excitedly informing her of a "cool" new boy that had transferred to his class from a different school, practically gushing about how clever he seemed, working on inventions during lessons after having finished his work in record time, yet how he was sure he'd never be able to find the courage to approach someone so "impressive" (Kohane could have sworn he once used the word "charming" to describe this mystery classmate but knew all too well that he would have disintegrated from the embarrassment of being called out, so just giggled to herself and pretended not to have heard) so it was quite the surprise when, a few months ago, speaking with a rare triumph in his usually quiet voice, Hibiki had told her he'd successfully befriended "Kamishiro-kun" after almost a year of admiring him from afar. the name seemed familiar to Kohane, as if she'd somehow heard someone discuss a "Kamishiro" before, though she had decided it was nothing of too much importance and just congratulated her cousin, sharing his infectious joy.
right now, Kohane could hear the muffled noise of the boys rambling about technology and such from her cousin's room across the corridor. meanwhile, she was on the phone having a chat with her partner, none other than An. An was currently excitedly telling Kohane all of the details of something that happened at Kamikou (though, Kohane had already heard this story through her cousin, but wouldn't dream of raining on the other girl's parade) when suddenly, An's words seemed to completely die in her throat.
because over the phone, she had heard the most notorious giggle on Kohane's side.
"hehe~" rang through Hibiki's door as his friend must have found something amusing at that moment.
Kohane, highly confused as to why her partner had suddenly stopped talking, wondered if the connection was faulty and messing with the call.
"... An-chan-?? what's the matter...? can you hear me??"
"... K- Kohane... i think there's an intruder in your house-!!"
"eh-??"
at the other end of the line, An's mind was racing. she knew that laugh. the laugh belonging to one of the most infamous at her school... but no, that seemed impossible!! after all, Kohane wouldn't know him... right? she almost jumped when she vaguely heard the voice again over the phone, sounding far away and muffled by a wall or two, yet unmistakably him.
"ah-!! that, that voice!!"
Kohane's head turned towards the direction of her cousin's room, still rather bewildered by An's behaviour.
"w- what do you mean, An-chan?? that's not an intruder, it's just Kamishiro-sa-"
"WHATTTT-???"
Kohane blinked in confusion as An hung up on her immediately after a slightly dramatic exclamation of surprise.
"oh... maybe she needed to go help her father at the café..." she mumbled to herself, eventually shrugging it off and deciding to read a book, not noticing that An was still very much online.
because she was pacing in her bedroom and ringing Akito.
"what do you want. and unless you're dying, this could have been a text."
"AKITOOOOOOOOO, IT'S AN EMERGENCY-!!"
"urgh...!! don't be so loud, what are you screaming about, bitch??"
"get this!! i- i think... MY KOHANE IS SECRETLY BEST FRIENDS WITH KAMISHIRO-SENPAI!!"
"..."
"..."
"... how high are you."
"OI, take me seriously!! he's literally at her house, dude!! oh, no, no, no, what if he influences her to become a mad scientist, explosion enthusiast, troublemaker like him-?? poor, poor, sweet Kohane!!"
"wait, wait, wait, WHAT-??"
"EXACTLY, BITCH!!"
the next morning at school, An and Akito stood outside the gates of Kamikou, clearly awaiting someone. Toya slightly raised an eyebrow as he walked up to them.
"... good morning, Akito, Shiraishi. you two are quite early today, is something happening?"
Akito was about open his mouth to respond when An beside him suddenly let out a yell and ran up to a tall figure just about to enter the gates. Akito shrugged, shooting a "tell you later" look to his partner before the two of them followed her.
Rui himself paused his casual walk into school, tilting his head at the three second years in front of him with a slight grin.
"morning~ is this an ambush?" he asked brightly.
"YES, actually!!" An retorted, pointing an accusing finger at him, her tone turning interrogative, "Kamishiro-senpai, please tell us your connection to Kohane!!"
Rui blinked a few times, his head remaining tilted, seeming genuinely perplexed.
"who exactly is Koha- oh, Azusawa-kun, was it? your teammate? she's a bit of a fan of our shows, i believe i've heard Emu-kun say...? apologise, i don't reckon i have really spoken with her personally, if that is what you are asking? oh- do excuse me, i have to get to my lesson a little early if i'd like to set up a little trick i have for my dear classmates and teacher today, farewell~"
he departed with a wave, leaving a very confused An Shiraishi stood at the gate. Toya awkwardly glanced between the retreating figure of their senior and his two teammates.
"... is anyone planning to explain that, or...?"
snapping out of it, An quickly filled him in. to the more extroverted pair's surprise, Toya remained completely unfazed. he slowly nodded his head as he digested the gossip.
"... i see... so, because Azusawa mentioned that Kamishiro-senpai was at her house, you both assumed he was visiting her?"
An and Akito nodded rapidly.
after that confirmation from the both, he continued, "... pardon me, but is it not quite a bit more likely that he was there for... Miyake-senpai?"
An and Akito exchanged a blank look before replying in unison.
"... who the fuck-??"
before the more reserved boy had the chance to elaborate, as if right on cue (ironic, considering he was the friend of a theatre director), Hibiki himself arrived at school, instantly catching An's attention, for his resemblance to his cousin was striking, to the point that An almost mistook him for Kohane herself for a split second. the light hair with a fluffy fringe and contrasting brown, doe-like eyes behind a pair of glasses, the shy demeanour, even the height- rather on the short side, the third year could easily pass as a second or even first year, at about 5'3 or 5'4.
not having noticed the attention on him as he went about his business, he had disappeared into the school building. Toya could practically see the flickering of lightbulbs and turning of gears in his friends' heads and he sighed with a soft laugh, deciding to end their little game of detective by revealing the answer to their grand "mystery."
"... that third year who just passed us is called Miyake-senpai. he is Azusawa's cousin, first name being Hibiki, i believe. he is also acquainted with Kamishiro-senpai as the two of them were in the same class last year."
