Becky from the Jane’s a Car timeline takes the role of Jacob and she tries to be nice about it and warn Linda about what’s coming, but of course Linda’s nasty to her. The spirits are Zoey after her death in Honey Queen and Max Jägerman after being sent to the black and white. I can’t decide if they should all hate each other and argue the whole time or be like “Ha, nice!” as they watch Linda’s past evil deeds play out and end up accidentally encouraging her and making her even worse.

started playing that's not my neighbor and i've found it's insanely easy.

potential spoilers for how to play the game below the cut in case you wanna Get Good at it yourself (??? i just discuss how to go through figuring out doppelgangers because the tutorial wasn't That clear about what you're looking for but obviously most of the fun of the game is trial and error)

but i've found out most of the time, finding doppelgangers boils down to:

does their appearance obviously match (honestly you can catch this one right away) if yes: continue, if no: they're a doppelganger

are they on today's list? if yes: continue, if no: they're a doppelganger (i have yet to find an instance where they weren't edit to this: i JUST found an instance where they weren't. call the apartment to verify they're not home if you can)

is their identification valid (attention-to-detail matters! check over their name compared with the documentation you have. check their id number, check their expiration date, check their room number, etc.)? if yes: continue, if no: they're a doppelganger

if they DON'T hand you identification, just check it on your checklist and they'll likely provide it. lots of times real neighbors forget to hand you id

but yeah, i haven't gotten below an S rank yet. if you're unsure because a doppelganger is otherwise providing perfect information, but they're like, not on the list for example? phone the apartment!

anyways it's 2.99 on itch.io and i recommend getting it because it's very fun. there's only an arcade mode rn but i enjoy it a lot.

i'm thinking back on that "nightmare time story with max as the protagonist where he's still a piece of shit a la what they did with linda in honey queen" idea i posted abt a few weeks ago, and i feel like there's this big analytical post to be made about the similarities between max and linda (mainly their motives and the god complexes they have/develop in their villain roles). but quite frankly, i am not smart enough to make that post so if someone better at analyzing themes and characters and shit than me wants to take a crack at it, be my guest. in fact, i fully encourage it.
