CROWFROST MY BOY CROWFROST PLS

Love this guy. He’s both so background but also so intriguing. Like he was a deputy of Shadowclan, had three kits two of whom joined the kin (Sleekwhisker and Juniperclaw) the other dying soon after in battle (Strikestone) and then dying himself by illness after Onestar refused herbs to the clan. Also has one of the coolest names. Anyways my own headcannons:

Trans boyo using he/him. He and Dawnpelt are t4t tho they had a diffrent cat carry their kits for the couple. Even so his daughter Sleekwhisker had his spiky fur but Dawn’s colors while Juniperclaw had his pelt but Dawn’s build. Strikestone was a mix of them both though resembled Crow a bit more with his dad’s white patches and darker colors

Actually is pretty young (only about 3 years old when he dies) but looks a lot older due to early graying and a issue with sleeping making him have massive eye bags, pretty constant tiredness, and a permanent vibe of being on the verge of passing out

For not being Shadowclan blood he has so many traits of them. He’s got the small ears, dark pitch black pelt, startling eyes, sharp claws. Maybe he has Shadow blood somewhere and just grew up as a kittypet but he’d never know

Speaking of his kittypet past his name was Frosty which then went to his suffix when he joined as a older apprentice. Because of his roots he is much more compassionate but protective and incredibly loyal, almost too forgiving to those who hurt him. He is a expert at shoving his own feelings down when necessary but knows that bottling it up isn’t good most often talking through things with his partner or late adopted daughter Olivenose!

Olivepaw was given to Crowfrost when he was a pretty young warrior as a test of his skills and he did amazing at training the new kittypet apprentice. She was named Olivenose and continues to share his wisdom to the cats in the modern arc (think involuntary but good therapist)

You know, i think the weirdest thing about people tagging my art “parental Royed” is that they clearly don’t mean it. it’s never about exploring any actual relationship these two characters have, it’s just a panic-label lest Someone online sees two men standing in the same image and instantly accuses the reblogger of pedophilia (never child soldier endorsement tho. Funny how that works). They’re like “if only I forcibly smush anything I see into the Found Family box then surely nobody can accuse me of homosexuality i mean being seen with the devil i mean UnChristian Thoughts. Surely this will protect me.”

Genuinely, if you see an image of two men interacting in any way and your first thought is “oh shit, I better make sure there’s no GAY PEDOPHILES in here!!!!”, consider who and what ideological position you are serving 

vince walker btw is HILARIOUS this man will sympathize so hard with the holts no matter what you choose to the point even his ‘mean’ options aren't as bad as they could be. man will get the opportunity to tell tyler to go to hell after his wife's death but he won't even say it, not really. but god forbid you choose ‘go to hell’ in chapter one because vince says the most heinous thing for no reason !! and then tyler is like *rolls eyes* *bends down* *very bluntly says they're already in hell together btw* all of this while vince is in doggy style. protagonist of all time who has a very normal relationship with his false antagonist. basic guy. love to see it

we haven't spoken in a very long time, but i dreamt of you last night, so I couldn't help but think of you. I'm not sure you remember me, but i hope life is treating you well these days. take care.

I'm not sure what to say, but I can promise you I have not forgotten you. My time on Tumblr has been a mess full of hiatuses, I admit, but it will always be a place where I met some very wonderful friends, including you. With 100% honesty, I can say the friends I made here are some of the best friends I have ever had, even though most of us don't talk anymore.

It doesn't matter how often I speak with people, or if we never speak again. I'll always remember you, and I'll always think fondly of you and hope that life is treating you gently and kindly.

I hope you had a nice (or at the very least an okay) dream, and I'm glad to know you still remember me, too, regardless of all else.

genuinely the metaphor of the koi pond is so perfect for describing the dynamic between natsume and tanuma…. tanuma, who can only see the shadows of the fish on his ceiling, and natsume, who can see the pond clearly. tanuma, who will only know of the fish’s colours when natsume finally gets to tell him, who will only tell tanuma if he asks. and tanuma, whose exposure to youkai is essentially limited to how much natsume tells him, and how much he dares to ask. it perfectly represents this push-pull of their dynamic in which they’re both trying to be open with each other but they’re struggling to do so. natsume will always be so deeply involved with youkai, and tanuma will have to learn to be content with hearing recollections, because he fundamentally cannot be involved any further. he’ll never get to see the fish in the pond he so dearly loves, but he will be told what colour they are, and it will have to be enough.

The dad the lad the big sad. My little dudes lost all his kids all in horrible circumstances then died himself. Like :(((( but I love that it makes him so much more interesting especially as such a background character. Kept most of his old design but changed a bit and definitely made it better
