I was watching television and the Neutrogena commercial came on with the tag line “For people with skin,” and I thought they did my dude Uncle Frank dirty. LOL

Someday I will write a Hellraiser/Hannibal au fic, it’s been rattling around in my brain. You can’t convince me Will and Kirsty wouldn’t be absolute bffs. And Julia and Hannibal would have a courteous relationship until Hannibal tries to eat Frank and Julia tries to kill Hannibal or something hilarious like that. Obviously I’d include the plot of Hellbound because there’s so much potential with the asylum and all.

Look all I'm saying is no matter how sexually repressed Julia is, there can NOT be dick good enough to do Frank's bidding. Girl he doesn't even have proper musculature!! Not to mention the lack of skin!! I repeat, the dick could not POSSIBLY be that good

maybe i'm just projecting my own asexuality onto kirsty cotton, but i firmly believe that she survived the first hellraiser because she's ace.

like, i think when she opened the lament configuration for the first time, it was out of curiosity rather than desire. i mean, who wouldn't open the magical puzzle box that was stolen from the skinless, undead uncle in your attic who was determined to get it back??

i also want to point out her reaction to chatterer sticking his fingers in her mouth after she opens the box. she was afraid, unlike frank in the beginning of the film who was curious and willing to give into the cenobites. i mean, sure, who wouldn't be afraid of demons who had seemingly come from nowhere, but her reaction is just so much different than frank's that it makes me wonder if it's more than just the standard reaction of what the fuck is that?

kirsty is also the only (main) character in the film that doesn't have a sexual relationship with anyone. julia, frank, even larry (larry more so in the novel but even then kirsty doesn't) all have sexual relationships and yet kirsty... doesn't.

the last thing that makes me believe that kirsty is asexual is the way pinhead allows her to make a deal with him. in the (many) sequels, whoever opens the box either dies or becomes a cenobite. kirsty is the exception. he allowed her to make a deal with him to save her soul not just once, but three times. the first being in the hospital in the first film, the second being in hellbound when she gives the photo of elliott to pinhead, then finally for the third time in hellseeker where she sacrifices her husband, his friend, and her husband's three mistresses to save herself.

pinhead is always willing to let her make a deal with him, which is never the case with any of the other characters.

in the sense that kirsty is ace, it makes sense for pinhead to allow her to keep making these deals to save herself because he knows that she doesn't have the same need for more unique pleasure than the other people who have opened the box do.

looking at kirsty through the asexual lens is interesting because it makes her story more complex but also makes complete sense.

i would love to see BTS of Hellraiser. i'm curious how much was practical, though you can tell a lot was and it really helps sell what you're seeing. Roland is no Uncle Frank but i did enjoy the movie over all and definitely want to watch again

Saw a post about how you shouldn't have para-social relationships with people on tumblr and I would like to formally state that ive been following you since I first made this blog and I would like to think that I do infact have a parasocial relationship to the point that when you change your icon I think someone is roleplaying as you until I realize. (Ps every time I re-read the free hole post I laugh so hard i embarrass myself)

The free hole post is a genuine joy to me and I'm delighted ye enjoy it as much as I do! In terms of having a parasocial relationship I hope that it does not come to a point where you wish to wear my skin. As a skin enjoyer, I would be very upset to have to walk about like a less depraved Uncle Frank from Hellraiser 😉 xx

Changing Kirsty from Larry's friend to his daughter is one of the smartest editing choices in anything. Hellbound Heart is spooky, but Hellraiser is a magnitude scarier because of Uncle Frank's incest vibes when he impersonates Larry.

I can easily handle the horror of a guy's skin being stolen by a monster man, but it becomes magnitudes scarier when it's your uncle wearing your dad's skin and he's saying "come to daddy."
