as the daughter of a well - known danish director & a world - renowned american makeup mogul , lykke was born into a world of luxury & a world full of endless possibilities . she had , essentially , the whole world resting on the palm of her hand . raised in chicago , but bouncing between her family’s permanent home there to the residence they owned in los angeles was difficult , but as the youngest of four & a child who’s mind was constantly buzzing with ideas , lykke didn’t mind .

her upbringing was relatively relaxed . her parents , who had busy lives as it was always tried to make time for their children , & as their oldest began to disperse & follow their own path , lykke was left alone most of the time . she didn’t mind , however , because with alone time came more time to let her imagination run wild . she was always a creative child , always thinking that believing isn’t seeing & so the thought of adventure & it’s endless possibilities was enthralling to her .

she was young & free ; she had a magnetic aura that captivated just about everyone in the room , but that’s not what made her special . lykke was , as her teachers would say , an enigma . she was smart all the while being unburdened by knowledge . she was skeptical of life’s meaning but at the same time , she believed in the impossible . she pushed the boundaries & in the end , it not only made her a valuable friend but an extraordinary student . she was inquisitive , always keen to learn new things , & always dove head first into new opportunities .

it was because of her determination & participation in school’s extracurricular activities that she was persuaded to join her high school’s swim team . swimming was , of course , the activity she enjoyed the most at school , but she never thought she would create a career out of it . but still , she agreed & was fast approaching becoming the best in her class . she was a fast learner , taking every opportunity to practice & before she knew it , she was at the top of her class . she was extremely valued not only by her team members but by her coach , & at one particular swimming competition , a representative for the olympic swim team came scouting for recruits & took lykke under his wing almost immediately .

she was a promising little thing , however a little too inexperienced in big competitions , but she would go far . so , to prepare for when she’d join the olympic team . she was thrown into national competitions , opting for homeschooling while she travelled for all the competitions she had to attend . needless to say , she loved it . being in the water gave her a sort of freedom she’d never felt before , & the thrill of the competition strove her to do better . she rose to success so quickly that , on the eve of her eighteenth birthday , it was announced she would be join the olympic team in the 2016 olympic games .

the build up to the olympics was immense . lykke was thrown into training more arduous than what she’d ever experienced , but she loved every part of it . she loved the adrenaline running through her veins & she loved more than anything , being a part of a team . in the games she would compete in the 800 metre freestyle race & the 4 x 200 metre freestyle relay , & the faster the games approached , the more nervous she felt . she had already successfully won nearly every competition she faced leading up to the olympics , but this was the real test in her eyes .

when it came to the games , despite her nervous state , lykke won her solo race . the thrill of this made her want to win more , but she was nervous . after watching the other team practice & perform their own races , & that her own team would need to be faster & better in order to beat them . so , in her nervous panic , when it was her turn to take over the relay , she jumped too early , even though she knew she wouldn’t clear her teammate in time , & they both ended up in hospital ; her teammate with a injury to the head & lykke with a broken collarbone .

the guilt almost destroyed her , & she thought her life to be over until her father paid off all involved parties to keep the truth quiet & instead spread the word that what happened was an accident . lykke still felt guilty , though , & couldn’t face the humiliation of being a part of the team again , so she quite acting & instead opted for a career less damaging & more achievable ; acting . her father was a director , & she was pretty involved in the drama department in school , so it made the most sense .

she landed small roles at first , but more recently lykke landed a role in netflix’s brand new hit series called ‘ fiercer things ’ . the show surrounds vampires , witches , & just about all things that go bump in the night , & lykke portrays the female lead called vita , a vampire a little like rebekah mikaelson !

lykke is a very bubbly , very curious person . she’s the sort of girl who will try anything once , which to her could be absolutely anything . she’s not afraid of pushing the boundaries & is the sort of person to test the waters before making a decision on something . want that new dress but not sure how it’ll look on ? lykke is your girl . the new hot & spicy bargain bucket at the most popular takeaway ? lykke will take the bullet for you & try it first . she’s very adventurous & is the sort of person who will jump feet first into any opportunity she comes across .

but lykke has a sort of childish naivety . she tries to be friends with everyone & is very good at blending in social situations , but she always believes the best in people & very often ends up being disappointed when it turns out the person wasn’t what she expected them to be . although she’s loving & very affectionate , she has never been in love . she’s the sort of person who dates , is in love with the idea of love but she has a very set view on what love should be like , so she crushes a lot on people only to dip when she doesn’t feel the way she wants to feel .

however she is very peculiar . she’s smart in a conventional way , & is always striving to learn more in order to be better . in this way she is very competitive , & has a habit of pushing the boundaries to become the best of the best , which often leaves other people being pushed out . but she’s a very loyal friend & if you know her well , you’ll be dragged into an abundance of philosophical conversations that will go on through early hours in the morning over a bottle of wine & takeaway food .

born in acacia to a blacksmith and a healer, the earliest parts of lina’s life are surrounded in a dreamlike haze when she calls upon them. the family was content, happy even, set to live a simple life in the western kingdom. unfortunately, tragedy would strike - a construction accident while their father worked to build their new home - would leave the denault children fatherless at a young age. lina’s mother took the death of her husband very hard, but continued her work as a healer to provide for her daughter and son.

things were a bit less comfortable following her father’s death - meals were sometimes skipped, garments often worn threadbare - but the denaults remained as close as ever, leaning on each other for support to get through it all. unfortunately, another loss would soon face them - her mother succumbed to a case of pneumonia contracted from a patient, leaving lina and her brother orphaned.

feeling lost - lina was happy to have training to orient herself around, but when that came to an end at 18, she truly felt the absence of her family’s foundation she had always been tethered to. she had one goal - protect her brother, her only remaining family member, as he continued to train as a soldier.

first she took up an apprenticeship with a baker which quickly came to an end when she burned a lady’s wedding cake, and then another with a local tailor. while struggling, once again, to hone the skills that would allow her to advance, she met her saving grace in the form of a wealthy merchant. her flirted with her at first, not the first client to do so, but it was his offer of a better life that truly intrigued her.

finally, able to capitalize off the one thing that had always served her - her looks. he became her first client, the merchant, but slowly, he introduced her to friends - each wealthier and more esteemed - and she charmed them all, until finally she joined the ranks of the women favored by the royal courts.

since she was 20 years old, she’s kept the company of high-ranking knights and nobles. it suits her. she makes a good living by playing into a fantasy, but she can remove herself from it when she returns home for the night. at least, usually. things have gotten a bit messy recently, though.

tl;dr acacian girl, raised middle class for most of her life; turned to prostitution after the death of her mother. has worked serving the courts for the last five years. witty, sarcastic, charming, flirtatious - she puts on a good show of being quite carefree. more manipulative than not - generally keeps people at an arm’s length, but can be more straightforward and honest when she opens up. cares deeply about the people in her life (especially her brother.. make him?), she’s just... slow to care.

Hello hello everyone! If you don’t already know--I’m Lina, and this is my late intro post for Mingyan! She’s my precious first muse that’s a tsundere, hates evil and way too obsessed with cultivation and her sword.

adopted daughter of the jiangs, she’s the adopted sis to lian and jingxuan, 26 yrs old and very tsundere. her two traits are superior swordsmanship & natural beauty. her swordsmanship is known to be very beautiful, most would describe it as 出神入化 cuz of the amt of time she spends on perfecting it.

she doesn’t like to dress in the purple uniform of the jiangs, so she’s prob the one of the individuals in the jiang sect that wears her own custom made uniform sdfjdkf in colours of white or bluegreen.

she smells of fresh tea leaves, delicate rain, with a light mintyness and lavender.

was born ji mingyan 姬茗嫣 to the second wife of her father, had 4 brothers and 3 sisters out of which only two were her siblings and not half siblings.

her family was massacred on a wintery night, a day before her bday (winter solstice), by evil cultivators. mingyan was the only survivor, but aged 12 she watched the evil cultivators kill everyone in her house, including her 2 yr old twin brother and sister.

her eldest brother picked her up and ran while heavily injured, trying to bring her to safety and to the nearest sect, which was the jiang sect

she knelt for a half a night out in the snow (she was safe since she was right at the jiang’s doorstep) asking to be taken in. her eldest brother that had carried her had died by her feet already, after forcing her to wear his coat to keep warm, since he was too injured. he gave her their family heirloom and she had to watch him pass on

the jiangs were hesitant on taking her in, because they were afraid she would use her cultivation skills to seek revenge for her family, esp after they tested her and she was proven a genius in the way of the sword + her cultivation roots (she has affinity with all five elements)--they made her swear not to take revenge, so she kept revenge deep in her heart and hidden away, and focused on what they wanted her to do, which was to cultivate and be the top.

she has a little rivalry with lian because he teases her, and most of all, he got to jindan before she did (she was a step away from forming jindan, but he got there first)

she’s a little terrified of dogs, and WILL stare down any dog just because she’s internally freaking out

she’s a tsundere, and people call her pretty much someone very inconsistent with her looks--she looks adorable & cute with chubby cheeks and big eyes, but the girl speaks in a cold tone, is vry calm and pretty much doesn’t care for most save for her brothers and her beloved sword. she’s also vry hot tempered when it comes to seeing things that aren’t justified, and will strike first before asking (jumps to conclusions rather quickly)

her sword is made of really cold metal, it took 3 yrs for her to get used to it, and the jiangs chose to make it for her because they wanted to give her a goal to work towards, and redirect her mind from revenge to purely cultivation

she’s honestly a pure babi adfjdkf, innocent and a bit naive, sees things really in black and white--but really hates evil cultivators. her loyalties lie with the sect and her way of justice as well as the sword, and if something shakes that foundation (lets say if the jiangs were found to have done something evil (like what jin mengyao did), her trust and her belief will be shaken, and she’d teeter on the edge of probably falling into evil

she’s absolute for justice--so if she sees someone in trouble she’d just strike first and ask later (plot point! maybe she made some enemies or had some misunderstands cuz of that)

so far her brothers are prob the only ones that would have seen her show other emotion apart from just neutrality and being calm

her sword’s name is SiYing (the sword of reflection/lamentation), and due to it being made of cold metal, its cold to touch, and she has a set of bells which are her family heirloom, called WangYou Ling (The Forgetting Bell)

The Forgetting Bell is a heirloom that has two bells--and is usually given to the heir of the family to give to their significant other. One bell will be on Mingyan, and the other on her significant other (if she falls in love or gets married). The bells can sense anytime the person’s other half is in danger, and react to it with a jingling sound, alerting their owner that their significant other is in danger.

the deniro household had it’s challenges . they seemed like the perfect family unit , & perhaps they were , but aldo & scarlett had other ideas . they were quite strict in raising their children , teaching them to never slouch , to use your manners , to keep up a perfect reputation . it wasn’t the family name that was at stake , but also their future , because like everyone else in the world expected , they wanted their children to grow up & take over one of their careers , & they groomed them to do just that . atlas hated it .

he hated the daily tutors supplied by his father , lessons in business & the history of the family’s . he despised the acting classes his mother forced him to take , ones which he’d often skip out on but then would get into trouble once his parents found out . he felt trapped ; forced to do things he grew to loathe . to him , it was obvious that he could do neither of the things his parents wanted him to do . so the more they pushed , the more he pulled away . he started to feel less like their son but a puppet whose strings they kept pulling .

what he didn’t hate , though , was the feeling if his fingers on guitar strings , singing in the shower because that was the only place he could sing without his parents complaining about him making a noise . diane would often smile at him after they chastise him & quietly compliment him on his voice , telling him he’d do great things one day . of course , he already knew this . his music teacher told him once that he could sing the birds to silence .

school was enjoyable , as it goes . all deniro children were educated in a private school , & although he was close to his sisters , he made friends easily . he had a charming smile & witt that only few would understand , he was the sort of kid who got along with anyone , but he couldn’t consider any of them to be close friends . so whereas to them he looked happy , he was quite the opposite ; atlas eventually got tired of his parents controlling his life so instead of keeping up his otherwise impeccable reputation , he started to rebel .

he didn’t really do a lot at first . snuck out to a few parties , stayed out later than his curfew allowed him to . did the opposite of everything his parents wanted him to do , be that going to the classes they arranged for him or behave himself in general . he just wanted to live his own life , do what he wanted . he wanted to focus on his music & follow a path that he knew he would enjoy . so he decided he’d do just that , & for a while he felt a little glimpse of what being truly happy felt like .

however in high school , atlas got involved with the wrong crowd . they introduced him to a world he had yet to really experience ; a world full of alcohol , sex , drugs , & general trouble . he knew he shouldn’t have stuck around it , but it was addicting . it was so unlike the restrained life he grew up with , that he jumped right into it & found himself unable to get out of . there was more to it , though . the more he rebelled the more people started to notice him . how structured his jawline was , how illuminated his eyes were under any light .

atlas hadn’t really had an interest in social media before . of course , he had an instagram account that he barely used , & didn’t really start using until someone mentioned he should start modelling . sure , they were joking but atlas actually considered it & started posting pictures of himself . his following plummeted , & in the november of his sophomore year he was scouted a modeling agency & became one of vogue’s most promising talents .

his career exploded from then on , & so did his popularity . he met people he would never have had the chance to meet otherwise , more specifically someone called jason . the pair quickly became good friends , they went to the same school so it was convenient . jason acted as a good influence on atlas but atlas acted like a bad influence on him , dragging him into the world he found himself stuck in which is when things started going downhill . jason grew a little too accustomed to narcotics , but at first atlas didn’t notice . he wasn’t really one to talk , anyway .

one night the boys headed to los angeles to celebrate their upcoming graduation , & before going for a night out they decided to have pre - drinks in their hotel room & started popping pills . atlas didn’t really see how many jason took , but before he could warn him it was already too late . everything else from that night was a blur of blue flashing lights & a lot of strangers shouting out medical terms he didn’t understand . the only thing he really remembered from that night were the words ‘ he’s dead ’ . & an overwhelming feeling that it was his fault .

the tragedy of jason’s death left atlas in a state of seclusion . he spent three solid months alone in his room , blaming himself for what happened , but he didn’t stop the drugs . if anything , he used them as an escapism , & when his parents gave him an ultimatum : rehab or college , he chose the latter . he enrolled in columbia & took up the same business course his father did . for the first month , he was bitter , cold to everyone , would barely talk if he could help it .

but some of his old school friends went to the same college as him , & atlas started to feel more like himself again ( or a version of himself that felt similar to what he was before ) & tried to forget jason & everything that happened . his parents has covered up the death so atlas wasn’t related to it , a cleverly articulated plan to keep it out of the papers . but that didn’t stop the questions , which atlas would quickly divert in order to forget . he had to forget .

he didn’t . jason was his friend , & one of the few people who truly understood him . jason always believed in atlas’s music , so it only felt right that he returned to him . if not for himself , then for the memory of his late friend . so he dropped out of college , found himself a management & started writing songs , composing music . at first it was difficult ; every time he sang a song or played a tune , he’d remember jason . but after time he eased into it , dropped out of college , & has been working on his first album ever since .

atlas became an all together different person . he became manipulative , deceitful , partying every night to erase the memory of that night like it would somehow go away , but it didn’t . every time he’d close his eyes , he’d see his lifeless friend , so he’d stop closing them . he’d spend nights in a stranger’s bed , only to leave in the middle of the night . he’d drink away the pain & swallow down the guilt that was threatening to swallow him alive .

what atlas doesn’t know , though , is a secret his parents are keeping from him . in early january this year , his father was diagnosed with localised prostate . after the loss of jason , atlas became distant from his parents & they didn’t want to burden him with the news due to him only just getting back to his normal self after the trauma of losing his best friend .

outwardly , atlas appears to be quite content . he can start a conversation with anyone , act like he’s interested but then three minutes later he’ll get bored & move onto the next thing that interests him . he likes staying busy & preoccupied , thinking that if he keeps his mind busy , he won’t think about the past . it’s for that reason that it’s hard to tell what he’s actually thinking , unless you know him really well or are good at reading people .

he can be very cynical , a trait that he’s carried since he was young but he was better at hiding it then , now he really does not care . at first it mattered to him what people thought , now he couldn’t care less . he does what he wants when he wants , often not thinking about the consequences of his actions & then dealing with them later . it’s for this reason that he can be quite manipulative , using his charms to get what he wants ( or who he wants ) to serve as a distraction .

he can be quite brutal abiut his opinions , learning a long time ago that holding your tongue won’t benefit you at all so he basically just says what he wants . but , he doesn’t really answer questions directly , especially if they’re personal . he’ll more likely change the subject or divert the question to someone else & act like he was the one who asked the question in the first place .

atlas is very reckless & will literally do anything for a good time , be that getting so drunk his face hits the floor , or so high he forgets his own name , or to even cliff diving so he can get some form a thrill . if someone tells him he can’t do something , he’ll go out of his way to prove them wrong . he’s incredibly stubborn & has a tendency to let people’s words go through one ear & out of the other .

she was fast developing as a child , supporting her own head after two months , uttering her first word after nine . growing up , she had a curious mind . always eager to explore the castle she would grow up in , often getting caught & having to flash her heart - melting smile in order for them to not tell her parents .

but despite the pressures & high expectations that being a princess would bring her , cilla was content . she had a smile for everyone , an unusual softness that often came as a surprise to everyone around her . however for that matter , perhaps she’s a little too soft . one morning she found a butterfly with it’s wing trapped in a beautiful rose bush & cried until someone set it free . her mother used to say that her kindness would be her greatest downfall , but prycilla would smile & bounce along like a fairy in a forgotten meadow .

as she grew older , the weight on cilla’s shoulder grew heavier & so her smiles became more forced . she was always told to stand up straight , to not slouch your shoulders , to not speak unless spoken to . she became more withdrawn , feeling more comfort in her silk sheets than she did with other people . in all honesty , she never felt completely content unless she had a paint brush in hand .

give her a smile , & she’ll smile & bow back as she was taught to . but give her a book or a brush , she’ll be your friend for life . cilla was a born visionary , an imagination that any artist should have . but her mother would tell her it can be nothing more than a hobby . but if you were to watch cilla paint a robin perched on a tree , or sketch the rose bush in the castle’s astonishing gardens , you’d swear she was a professional .

but she knew of her duties , so she’s become more introverted & closed off throughout the years . but , cilla has always had a gentle heart , so despite the false smiles she throws around there’s a naivity & innocence to her that has stuck around since she found the butterfly in the bush .

she’s absolutely in love with the idea of love & falls in love with different things every day . she tends to wear her heart on her sleeve , forever a gentle soul who will do anything for anyone should they ask her for something .

appears to be very quiet when you first meet her , but if you know her well enough you’ll find she can hold interesting conversations & has a very hypnotic way of speaking .

there’s probably a lot more but my brain is barely functioning after a day of traveling so i hope this is acceptable ! i’ll probably add more once i’ve written a functional bio but for now this is my soft daughter !

Nae grew up in Windenburg, the daughter of a doctor and a psychologist. She had a lovely childhood and excelled in school all through high school, but when it came time to decide what to do with her life, she and her parents parted ways. They wanted her to be a doctor, she had a deep and abiding love for food and cooking, and cats.

She moved into the city, and lived in a shoddy apartment, fighting roaches and rats for the scraps of food she could get, until her career allowed her to move to a better home. She now lives at 1321 Chic Street, and is currently enjoying life and her career with her calico/savannah mix, Kailin.
