My new and improved altar to the God Themself, Lord Dionysus 🍷 I’m actually really obsessed with how it turned out, like it’s so perfect for Them. Some of my favorite features:

I found a bunch of old playbills to shows I had seen and cut them out and glued them onto the tray

The background is my DM screen, which I just thought was cool to have there and plus when I DM again I hope that maybe he can help with the vibes/my improv skills (mostly the latter I’m so bad at improv)

Piano keys from an old set of a show I was in and an old script from when I was still doing theater

Their candle holder (it is actually insane that wax is all Them baby)

(The playbills I glued on is only a FRACTION of the amount I have, I want to do something else with the rest of them at some point)

altar update! y’all always seem to like these so here they are after a good spring clean!

explanations of what’s the purpose of each altar under the read more!

the first picture is kinda nonspecific to anything, i don’t personally worship the Kemetic pantheon but i have these statues that i’ve had since childhood and i have respect for the Gods so ive given Them their own altar with some of my other supplies.

The second altar is for Lady Aphrodite, Lord Ares, and Lord Dionysus. the cards are greek mythology oracle cards so i set out Their cards (also Lord Zeus and Lady Hestia) and i have a new shamrock plant that i refuse to let die and im hoping putting her (yes i call her ‘her’) on the altar to the deities i worship the most/actually devoted to (Aphrodite), she’ll be able to grow from the good energy

the last photo is my Main™️ altar and the pillar candles are for the Gods of Olympus (white) and the Chthonic Gods (black) as well as a tea light in a candle holder for the house spirits, spirits of the land, and my ancestors. it’s got all my most used supplies and where i do the most spellwork

Oh how I love the nights where I feel the joyful urge to redesign my standing altar:

I am so excited for the upcoming vernal equinox; in my practice, Apollo leaves us on the winter solstice and returns on the first day of spring. I’ve missed him so much - but with every passing day I can feel him returning to us with the sun.

To honor this I themed my altar around him - disassembling his solo altar and reincorporating its elements back into my standing altar.

My Lord is returning to the Earth, and my joy cannot be contained!

I'll be going to uni in a few weeks which means it'll be a perfect time for me to make a travel alter for Hermes!

I'd like to make something that looks a little fancier than a match box alter but it'll likely be a case of thinking what I can do with what I've got. I might try and paint it to look like wood but I'm not sure yet

Hello!! I'm building an alter for Aphrodite currently, due to having to keep it hidden however (due to differing beliefs from me and my parents) I need it to be kinda small. What would you say I should put on it? I'm pretty sure you need a picture on it for sure, but what else?

Hello there!

An altar can pretty much be anything you want it to be. You don't have to have a picture if you don't want to, but if you do then go for it! Basically any decoration that makes you think of her can be used to put on her altar. And it doesn't have to be expensive either.

I also have a small altar, simply because im short on space. So, for example, on my altar I have a tiny red vase with a metal red rose inside, some sea glass, crystals, an incense burner, and some moss. The sea glass, moss, vase and some of the crystals are all small items, so I can easily fit them into the space i have available. Many of those things were also gifted to me, so it was a cheap arrangement to make as well.

I’ve had to downsize a lot since moving but this is my current altar set up! The altar box is for Dionysus and I have a little music box to represent Pan for now. I’ve also made offering jars for them both.

I needed a pot for my shamrock plant Rhiannon, so i decided to paint this pot in honor of the Gods of the altar that Rhiannon sits on (Lady Aphrodite, Lord Ares, and Lord Dionysus, as well as a special part for Lady Hestia, as she is the first and last). I’m very proud of it :’)
