MORTAL KOMBAT 1 CHARACTERS
Liu Kang hadn’t had sex since he created the timeline. That meant that he hadn’t had sex for eons. It wasn’t like he didn’t want to but Liu Kang was not the type of man to just screw other women randomly just to get his release. He couldn’t do that even if he wanted to. If he were to have intimacy then he had to do it with someone that he loved.
Luckily for you, you were that someone. He loved you more than anything. More than himself, more than life itself. He’d do anything for you no matter what.
So here he was, in the bed with you. He was on top of you while you laid on your back, looking into his eyes. Liu Kang found that making eye contact while he thrusted in you was more intimate than anything.
Your nails felt good scratching on his back. Your heavy pants filled the room. Liu Kang went slow but efficient. It was your guy’s first time so he didn’t want to over do it by going at such a rough and fast pace.
“Oh, yes. Yes. Liu Kang.”
You saying his name made it one hundred times harder for him to control himself. I mean the man hadn’t had intimacy for eons and now he was having it with you.
Liu Kang would kiss your shoulder and your cheek whispering how much he loved you before placing his hands on the headboard. He continued to go slow but hard into you.
He was hitting all your good spots. Liu Kang was certain that there would be love marks on his back from how you were scratching at it with your nails. (Though he wasn’t complaining.)
“Please don’t stop. I love you.”
Nothing turned Liu Kang on more than you telling him that you loved him. He started to pant himself. He felt uncontrollable fire come through his hands and with that, the headboard broke.
It fell behind the actual bed. Liu Kang stopped and covered you to make sure that none of the remaining pieces would fall on you.
He looked at what he had done and then back to you. He gave you an apologetic look. “I’m so-“
He couldn’t even get it out before you pulled him into a kiss. Liu Kang accepted the kiss.
The two of you pulled away. You gave him a smile. “If I didn’t have sex for literal eons I would’ve broke the bed too.”
Liu Kang chuckled at you. He kissed your neck some before thrusting back into you, making you moan. “You know I can’t control myself when I’m with you, love.”
Bi-Han was always presumed to have multiple women in bed. That was not the case. At all. He did not have time for women. Even if he was feeling really horny some days. He didn’t go out and get a woman to take his frustration out of. He still had traditional values and did not believe that it was okay.
That’s where you come in. Bi-Han wasn’t really concerned with love until he met you. Some days, it was hard for him to show it to you but you knew he meant well.
Bi-Han was on top of you while you laid on your back. He was going at a fast pace but he didn’t do it hard. He actually did care about you so he didn’t want to hurt you.
He wasn’t really affectionate during sex so you didn’t get any kisses or him telling you that he loved you. In fact, you didn’t get much of anything besides a few animalistic grunts. He wasn’t a talker in general when he had intimacy.
“Oh yes. Please. Bi-Han. It feels so good.”
He did love it when you talked though. Bi-Han had an ego so him knowing he was making you feel this good turned him on to no end.
He continued to thrust in you fast. The sound of skin to skin contact was heard along with your moans and his heavy breathing.
“Yes. I need you. Please. I need you.”
Bi-Han grunted at your words and placed his hands on the headboard of the bed. He stopped his such fast pace and went a bit harder this time.
“Right there. Right there. Oh yes.”
Maybe it was because Bi-Han didn’t really have intimacy or maybe it was because your moans were driving him crazy but Bi-Han lost control.
Ice started to freeze the headboard of the bed. Then the headboard broke completely because of that.
Bi-Han stopped thrusting in you and he watched as the pieces fell either behind the bed or on the side.
He sighed, annoyed. “I do not feel like getting that fixed.”
You shrugged with a smirk on your face. “Should’ve controlled yourself more.”
“I’ll show you control..” Bi-Han placed himself back in you making you moan. This time, he really was going to show you no mercy.
Syzoth never had intimacy in his human form for what was obvious reasons. Of course he never felt the need to because he had a wife and she was in her true form. So, what would be the point for him to take on his human form?
Well, now there was you and you were obviously human so Syzoth didn’t feel like having sex in his true form would be the best idea. At least right now.
So, he was going to try it in his human form for you. He had you laying on your back while he was on top of you. He warned you though that with his species, they can become incredibly aggressive and territorial during intimacy. You didn’t believe him.
You should’ve believed him.
Syzoth wasn’t going at a speed where you couldn’t handle it but he was going fast and rough with you. Unlike most men, he was a talker but that was probably just his true nature showing.
“Oh gods. You feel so good, (Y/N).” Syzoth rubbed all over your body as he spoke.
“Mmhm. You feel even better, baby.”
Syzoth bent down to your level and kissed you sloppy. You accepted the sloppy kiss and Syzoth began to tongue kiss you. You were no match for his tongue though. It was useless fighting against him.
His tongue started to lick all over your neck before he sucked on your neck. You moaned at the feeling of his mouth on you. “Mine. All mine.” He told you.
Syzoth felt your breasts and he gave them a good squeeze. He felt himself practically whining at how good you felt around him. It was all too much for him. “Please let me cum inside of you.” He kissed your shoulder and nibbled on it a little. “You’d look so pretty pregnant.”
He could say just about anything and you’d agree to it just because he was fucking you so good. “O-okay.”
Syzoth’s hands went on the headboard. He slowed up on his fast pace and focused more so going hard. You let out short gasps, unable to speak, “Oh, yes love. You look so pretty like that.”
He couldn’t help but go a little bit faster. “Have my babies. Have my babies.”
His nails dug into the headboard. He didn’t even realize it but with all his strength, the board broke.
Syzoth stopped, a little taken back at what he had done. He sighed to himself. “I thought I was controlling myself well.”
You gave him a ‘really’ look. “You call everything you did control?”
“Am I hurting you? Am I going too rough? Because I-“
You cut off his worries with a kiss. Syzoth kissed you back with the same amount of passion before you pulled away. “No, I like it a lot. You’re fine. I’m just teasing.” You grabbed onto Syzoth and pushed him back inside of you, making him hiss out of pleasure. “Now, keep going. I’m almost there.”

MORTAL KOMBAT 11 CHARACTERS
Shao Kahn was a man of many things and having multiple women worship him was one. The great thing about it was he didn’t have to force these women either. They worshiped him by their own free will. It only boosted his ego up.
That didn’t matter anymore now that he had you, his Empress now. None of those other women mattered. He had you and he was content with having just you.
Shao Kahn warned you about having intimacy with him and how big he actually was. You thought it was just that talk men have to hype themselves up.
Oh…you were wrong.
He had you laying on your back while he was on top of you. Shao filled you up completely. You didn’t know if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
Shao made sure to do slow but efficient thrusts. At least for right now as it would take some time for you to adjust to him.
You moaned every time he thrusted in you. Every time it got louder and louder. Shao Kahn was in heaven as he watched you fall apart on him again and again.
Your body twitched from the immense pleasure Shao was giving you. “That’s it. Take all of me.” He told you. He continued to give you slow strokes. “You can do it. You were made for me.”
Moaning at his words, you felt up all over your body. Shao watched you play with your breasts and he couldn’t help himself. He went a little bit faster.
A loud gasp came out your mouth at the change of pace. Your eyes rolled in the back of your head but Shao forced you to look at him. “I need to see those pretty eyes while I make you mine.”
Shao rubbed your stomach soothingly. “You are all mine. You belong to me.”
“Oh my god. Shao please.” You tried to run away from him but Shao grabbed onto your thighs. He picked them up and wrapped your thighs around his waist.
Shao Kahn kept thrusting in and out of you, grunting as he did so. You moaned louder. You tried to keep your eyes on him because you knew if he had to tell you again, it would be bad.
“It feels so good.” You could barely get out.
Telling him how good he was making you feel made his ego boost up. His hands placed on the headboard and he looked down at you. “Are you ready my Empress?”
You knew that meant he was going to go fast but you felt like you were more ready. You nodded to him and Shao Kahn started to go fast into you.
You thought it was going to hurt but it was good. Incredibly good. “Oh my god. Yes. Please. Just like that.”
Shao Kahn continued to fuck you into the bed, grunting while doing so. Usually, he would only care to get himself to cum but you were his Empress so it meant he cared to get you there too.
You were already almost there. “Oh my god. Please. I’m cumming. I’m cumming. Please, Shao.”
Shao Kahn continued to go at his same pace. That’s when he felt hot liquid on his chest. You had squirted on him.
He found this so attractive that he couldn’t contain himself anymore and he broke the headboard to the bed.
It didn’t break in pieces. He had ripped it off straight with his bare hands. He threw the headboard down and you gasped a little at the sight.
Shao Kahn looked at you with a smirk. He stopped thrusting in you. “What was that? Only a minute?”
You rolled his eyes at his cockiness and forced him to go back inside you. “Shut up and cum in me already.”
Kano always had women wanting him. I mean he was attractive, charming, and great in bed. Who wouldn’t want him? He was the perfect catch and he knew this. That was probably the bad thing about it because it made him cocky.
When he met you though? He kissed those other women goodbye. None of them mattered when he had you.
He had you laying on your back. He was on top of you. Kano gave you rough and fast thrusts, making your breasts jiggle up and down.
“Oh Kano. Please don’t stop.”
Kano loved it when you said his name. He typically wasn’t really that affectionate during intimacy but for you? He’ll do about anything.
He kissed you on the lips. His pace didn’t stop. You moaned into his mouth. Kano began to suck all over your bottom lip.
Kano’s kisses went to your neck and he nibbled all around your sensitive areas. You moaned louder. “Please. Kano. You feel so good inside of me.”
“I know, love.” Kano licked all over your neck like he was hungry for you. “How bout you let me cum inside of you? You’d feel even better.”
Kano could tell you to do just almost anything and you’d do it in a heartbeat the way he was fucking you into the bed. “Oh god, yes. Please cum inside me. Please. I need you.”
“That’s what I like to hear.” Kano’s hands went on the headboard and he went even harder inside of you. He watched as your mouth fell open and your eyes roll back into your head.
“Oh yes. Give it to me. Oh, yes. Give it to me.”
Kano groaned at your words but didn’t stop his pace. “You’re such a naughty girl.” One hand went to quickly slap your thigh before placing it back on the headboard. “My naughty girl.”
Your pussy clenching onto him was far too much for him. Kano himself started to pant. Then he felt the headboard break.
It didn’t break drastically. It just broke in half. Kano stopped thrusting in you and looked down at you.
The two of you didn’t say a word. There was silence. And then you two started to laugh. You two laughed like it was the funniest thing in the world.
Kano leaned down and kissed you on the lips. “Oh, you drive me crazy, love.” He told you before going back to thrust into you.
Hanzo didn’t really have it in himself to have intimacy anymore after the death of his wife. He felt there was no purpose in doing it if he wasn’t in love. So, he just didn’t have it.
Then he met you. The now love of his life. Everything changed about him then. Hanzo now had the desire to make love to you.
He was a bit nervous though considering that he hadn’t had intimacy in a long time but you constantly reassured him that it would be fine.
Hanzo had you laying on your back while he was on top of you. He gave you slow but hard thrusts. His eyebrows squinted in pleasure as he made love to you. If you felt like this all this time, he wished he had done it sooner.
He didn’t mind at you clawing at his arms. It barely felt like anything to him. Hanzo made sure you felt comfortable and loved each time he went in and out.
“Hanzo please.” You cried out. “I need you.”
Hanzo groaned at your words before kissing you. As if he would lose you the next day. As he kissed you, he went a little bit faster causing you to moan in his mouth.
“You feel so good, my love.” He told you. He kissed your forehead and focused on his fast pace.
Your moans filled the room along with his panting. Hanzo felt like he could cum at any moment but he would wait until you had gotten there first.
He didn’t think he could wait.
Hanzo’s hands went to the headboard. As much as he loved your moans, he was trying to drown them out. They were just turning him on more to the point where he felt like he was about to cum.
You noticed that his eyes were closed. Probably concentrating. You rubbed all up on his chest. “What’s wrong, Hanzo?”
You were driving him absolutely crazy and he didn’t think he could hold it much longer. “Trying to wait for you, my love.”
Chuckling, you brought him a little closer to kiss him softly on the lips. He accepted the kiss. Then you pulled away. “That’s sweet of you but you do not have to wait for me, darling. You can cum in me now.”
He liked that he had your permission but he still was trying to wait for you. His hands gripped on the headboard even more. He couldn’t hold it. “Oh, (Y/N). Oh my love.”
You knew he was cumming. You rubbed up and down his chest to help him with your soft touches. “That’s right, darling. Cum inside of me.”
Hanzo came hard in you. His hands created fire and it completely broke the headboard.
The two of you gasped at that. Hanzo stopped the fire and he looked at you to make sure you were okay. “Are you alright, (Y/N)?”
“Yeah. I’m okay.”
“I apologize. I did not mean to lose control like that.”
You gave him a quick kiss on the lips before speaking. “It’s okay. It’s was hot.” You decided to joke.
Hanzo shook his head and kissed your cheek. “You and your terrible puns.” He went back inside of you, making you moan. “We’re not done here. I’m not finished until you finish.”

Liu Kang and Kuai Liang with an s/o that's afraid of fire?
Tumblr media
Liu Kang is very aware of your fear of fire. He found out about it through others before even properly meeting you
As God of Fire, he was immediately hesitant in approaching you as he would not be able to hide his status from you nor would he want to do that
He knows not telling you that he is God of Fire is wrong and he does not want to do wrong by you
When he first meets you, he does not showcase his abilities at all but is honest about his position
Liu Kang picks up on your nervousness when you hear him introduce himself and he is quick to say that he recognizes your aversion to such an element and respects that. He continues to say he will never once use such abilities in your presence
Your friendship blooms from there and Liu Kang does not break his word. He avoids using his fire when with you which puts you at ease
The relationship between you blooms naturally and you are the first to suggest being more than just close friends
Liu Kang has been wanting more for a long while but was hesitant to ask because of his fire wielding abilities
He is almost scared to hold your hand, fearing that it may be too warm or hot for you or if you'd shy away knowing that those fingers could burst into flames at will
It is an adjustment for you but you trust him to keep you safe and to shelter you from fire
The world is not all perfect, however, and there comes a time where he needs to protect you and he can only do that by using that which terrifies you the most
He tells you to close your eyes and you know what is going to happen and you are trembling and shaking
You don't dare open your eyes as you feel the burst of warmth rush into the air and the screams of those burning
You stay huddled and hunched over and Liu Kang looks to you with a heavy guilt. He wants to hold you but worries that you will push him away
He stands there unsure of what to do until he feels your arms wrap around him tightly while you sob and tell him how scared you are
Liu Kang's eyes would widen before he returns the embrace and pets your hair telling you that he is sorry and that it is all over now
Tumblr media
Kuai Liang met you by chance and is grateful for it. However, because of this accidental meeting his pyromancy is not disclosed
In fact, as Kuai Liang gets to know you and develop a relationship with you, he decides not to disclose it so he can surprise you with a grand displays of what he can do
Kuai Liang is rather romantic so he plans it out perfectly, or at least he thinks so
He brings you to somewhere dark, so dark you can barely see. When you joke about how thick the night is, he tells you that he can fix that
Flames burst from his hands as he lights the torches of the path in an impressive pattern
He is so excited to see your expression but when he turns to see you, there is no joy. There is horrible hanging fear
You are shaking and backing away from him and he asks you what's wrong but you can't speak, you're too afraid of him
When he approaches you, your instincts tell you to get away from him and so you scream and move to run
It doesn't take long for him to put the pieces together and realize that his fire has scared you and suddenly Kuai Liang feels like a fool
He tries to express his apologies to you but you are far too frightened to listen to him and he doesn't try to keep you from going
Kuai Liang tries to think of ways to apologize to you but struggles due to his immense amount of guilt and shame
When he meets you again, he hangs his head lowly and profusely apologizes for bringing you such terror and repeatedly calls himself a fool
Both of you know feel awful and decide maybe to try things anew and start over in an effort to better understand each other
Kuai Laing is grateful for giving him another chance but you assure him that it is not his fault as he had no way of knowing what you feared
You two rebuild your relationship and you actually talk to him about conquering your fear of fire and Kuai Liang is happy to help you but only if you are absolutely certain that is what you want

'i love you'
summary: kung lao would protect raiden at all costs
warnings: canon-typical violence :)
Tumblr media
Kung Lao fell to the ground, blood spurting from his mouth as clutched his chest. Shang Tsung smirked and retracted the blades from Kung Lao’s chest and disappeared in a whirlwind of white as Kung Lao failed to get back to his feet. Behind him he could hear Raiden screaming his name out. The hat wielder struggled to keep his eyes open as he felt Raiden cradle him close. Through the blur, he could see tears falling from Raiden’s eyes as the champion pushed on Kung Lao’s chest frantically. Kung Lao brought his hand up to cradle Raiden’s and stared into those beautiful brown eyes.
“Kung Lao, stay awake! Liu Kang is coming with medical help, please!” Raiden said frantically, but Kung Lao could barely hear him, the world sounding a million miles under water. Instead, the hat wielder just reached his hand up to tuck a piece of loose hair behind Raiden’s ear. Raiden just choked on a sob, his hand coming up to cup Kung Lao’s cheek. Why were Raiden’s hands so bloody? Was he injured?
“Are you hurt? You should go get patched up.” His words were starting to slur as his consciousness started slipping from the waking world. Raiden said something in reply, but Kung Lao just heard some sort of mumble. The hat wielder stared up at Raiden as the world started to turn black in the edges of his vision. Even crying, Raiden still looked so beautiful, like an angel come from heaven. What had Kung Lao ever done to deserve someone like him?
“I love you, Raiden. I love you so much.” It was barely a mumble, so quiet that Kung Lao wasn’t even sure he had said it until the Earthrealm champion brought Kung Lao up to kiss him desperately, not caring that he could taste blood. Kung Lao closed his eyes and smiled as the last vestiges of his consciousness slipped from the world.
Fuck, everything hurt. Kung Lao’s head pounded, his heartbeat pounding in his ears, his body felt exhausted, as if he had run a marathon just a second before, and he could barely breathe. Something was in his mouth, and Kung Lao tried to lift his arm up to remove it. But, he couldn’t move. He felt so heavy, even his eyelids. He let out a groan as a shooting pain went through his chest.
Something clutched onto his hand, something warm and calloused that he had felt explore his body countless times. Raiden. Kung Lao clutched onto the hand, not daring to let go of it as sleep overtook his mind once again.
The next time woke up, Kung Lao peeled his eyelids open, the world blurry and bright as he tried to blink his vision back into focus. He looked to his right to find Raiden sitting right next to him, gripping onto his hand so tight like Kung Lao might slip away at any moment. The hat wielder looked around a bit more, and was he in a hospital? He tried to sit up, but the blooming pain in his chest forced him to stay still and remain in his position. But it seemed that Raiden heard Kung Lao’s pained grunt, and his eyes opened.
Even with dark circles underneath his red and puffy eyes, messed-up hair, and dirty clothes, Raiden still looked gorgeous, like he came straight from a painting. The Earthrealm champion started tearing up at the sight of Kung Lao’s open eyes, and Kung Lao squeezed his partner’s hand, trying to comfort the other. There was still something in his mouth forcing him to breathe, but something told Kung Lao that he wouldn’t have enough energy in his body to try and breathe by himself anyway.
Raiden spent the next few minutes sobbing and placing kisses on the back of Kung Lao’s hand, but he calmed down after a bit, shaky breaths and ugly sniffles.
“You idiot. You shouldn’t have jumped in front of me.” Raiden mumbled. Kung Lao wanted to retort, but with the tube in his mouth, he couldn’t say anything and could only listen to Raiden.
“That was reckless. Stupid. Don’t you know how distraught we all were. We all thought you had died. Liu Kang disappeared when he delivered you to the hospital, looking terrified. Kenshi and Johnny haven’t been the same. Kung Jin can barely sleep knowing you’re in the hospital. And…and I thought I lost you. Don’t ever do that again.” Raiden started crying again, and Kung Lao stayed looking at Raiden. He did not regret his decision to sacrifice his life. He would never let Shang Tsung hurt Raiden.
“And, and, how could you tell me you loved me when I didn’t have the chance! You-I-I love you so much, Kung Lao. It would’ve destroyed me if you died before I got to tell you.”
Despite the pain and his body screaming, Kung Lao sat up in his head and brought Raiden close, resting their foreheads together and trying to say that he loved Raiden so much. He would love Raiden until the end of time. He would protect Raiden with his body, heart, and soul. He would give his whole life to Raiden if it meant Raiden got to live.
Raiden just lifted his hand to rest on the back of Kung Lao’s neck, and they stayed like that for a few minutes. And as Raiden whispered ‘I love you’ over and over again, Kung Lao closed his eyes and fell asleep knowing that he was loved.

Liu Kang’s Guidance
A/N: This is a bit more of a serious one. It’s not an x reader. This is a vent piece. And something that maybe others are dealing with too. Sorry for the heaviness, I’m writing about what I’m feeling currently
Content Warning: Depression, suicidal thoughts(?), questioning life, purpose
The waterfall splashing did not ease the anxieties nor the sadness. But it filled your mind. Enough to stop the buzzing around in it. Yet it did not bring peace like it should.
Footsteps approached, but you knew whose they were. They were very familiar. Soft, yet purposeful footsteps.
“Hey,” Liu said, taking a seat next to you. “I have been looking for you.”
“Have you?” You asked him, eyes not leaving the waterfall. Birds chirped around you both, filling the air with their songs. The trees loomed over you both. “I am sorry for wasting your time.”
“My time will never be wasted with you.” He replied with a small smile. But he knew your mind was not in this world. “What is going through your mind?”
There was a lot. A lot that needed to come out, yet you did not want him to carry your burdens. You did not like to burden others, otherwise you would have talked to Raiden or Kenshi about what was going on. “Don’t worry too much, it’s okay.”
Liu frowned. “You can tell me anything. I am here to listen to you. Especially if it will ease your mind.”
“You have a lot on your plate. You don’t need my stresses too.” You told him as you started to pull your legs close to your body. It was a way of keeping you safe. Keeping it all inside.
“If it will help you from losing yourself to the darkness of your mind, then I will share your burdens. Now, tell me. I am listening.” He said, patiently waiting for your answer.
You sighed. “Lately I have felt out of touch with myself. For the past year, I have felt like a walking zombie. I can function, but I can’t function how I would like to. Everything feels like I’m watching myself from an outsider’s point of view. Like in third person.” You explained to him. Liu Kang understood what you were saying. He too had felt like that before. “I can hardly recall memories because in those memories, it was like I was outside of my body.”
“My anxiety has worsened. It seemingly comes on out of nowhere in more recent times. And I never used to get anxiety.” You said quietly. “I’m always so tired. I get so tired during the day, to the point I can hardly keep my eyes open, but at night I can’t sleep. And when I do sleep, I can’t sleep completely without waking up a few times during the night.”
“Have you been drinking caffeine?” Liu asked.
You shook your head. “No, I cut caffeine out of my diet for the most part. Sometimes I’ll have some, but it is usually earlier in the day where it won’t affect my sleep.”
You reviewed what you had already told him in your head. He could see the gears were turning in your head. He waited for you to continue.
“I always seem happy to everyone else, but really, I am unhappy. I feel like…” You felt the lump in your throat form. “I feel like I don’t know my purpose. Or maybe, I don’t have a purpose. I haven’t fulfilled much in my life. I feel like I’ll never be able to do it. I’ll always be stuck where I’m at.”
The tears started to brim. You didn’t want to cry, but it was difficult. “I always feel like crying. I feel like crying about everything. But I always stop myself from doing so. But sometimes I get so overwhelmed. I feel like I carry so much stress, but I can’t let it go. Or I can’t get rid of it.” A few tears started to fall. He watched with a tinge of sadness. “I feel so sad. I always feel sad. Sometimes I do have good days. And those good days are really good. But a lot of the time, I am sad. Or I am in a funk. Sometimes, I lay in bed for hours because I am unable to find the energy to get up.”
Liu put his hand on your shoulder, making the tears worsen. Your bottom lip began to tremble, but you continued on. “I keep everything to myself and I just have no place to put it at. Or let it go. I feel on edge a lot of the time. My thoughts give me anxiety. They will keep me up at night or they will make me physically ill. I get random body aches that I can never explain. And they hurt a lot.” You tried wiping away your tears, but only more appeared.
“I am lonely. I am lonely in my heart and in my head. To me, all I have is myself. I don’t like to burden others because I feel like they have been through worse. Or my pain can’t compare to theirs because theirs is bad.” You swallowed the thickening of the saliva in your throat. It was like the dam had broken. Everything was flooding out. You sniffled.
“I’m not suicidal. It has crossed my mind in the past. But not as of recently. But sometimes, I think about what if I didn’t wake up tomorrow. What if it all ended tomorrow? I wouldn’t have to battle what is going on in my head anymore. I would find the peace that I have always craved. Yet I don’t beg for death.” You continued to wipe away the tears with your hand. Liu got a tissue out of a pocket and gently wiped at your face with it. It was a comforting gesture.
“I guess I’m in limbo. I’m alive, but I haven’t been living, you know?” You looked at him with red eyes and a small, sad smile. “I don’t know what I’m waiting for. I want to be better. I want to feel like a person again. I don’t want to feel like this anymore.”
Liu had a solemn expression on his face. He did not know how much you, his friend, was hurting. You had masked it very well.
“I’ve felt like this for so long where I feel like I should be used to it. But it’s just gotten worse. I haven’t gotten the help I need to deal with it. I’ve just been trying to deal with it in my own ways but they have all been bad. I’m always so angry or annoyed. But now, since I’ve let that stop controlling me, all I can do with my depression is just nothing. It’s sitting here eating me alive. I don’t know where and when this started. I can hardly remember.” Your eyes were beginning to puff up and the headache was forming.
“I feel like I shouldn’t be depressed. I have a good home, my family is great, things are good. Yet here I am.” You laughed, but nothing was funny. It was out of sadness. You turned your tear-stained face away from Liu Kang. “I just wish I could feel better.”
“Perhaps a hug may ease something?” Liu offered. You nodded your head, wrapping your arms around him as he did to you. Hugging a person made everything come out. The tears started to come rapidly, your body shook with sobs. Liu hugged you tighter, feeling your emotions flood out of your body. If this would help you, he would do it for all of eternity.
And he was right. A hug did ease something. It made you feel a little less alone.
“As the Protector of Earthrealm and being a creator of a timeline, I understand your loneliness and the feeling of lacking in purpose. I assure you, you are very purposeful. Everyone plays their part in their life. Just like in this timeline, everyone plays their part that they need to. They fill their purpose.” He explained as you pulled away from him, wiping away your tears and snot. “And you, you have your purpose. It is your duty to understand and know what it is. And it may not come right away, but I promise you it will.”
You nodded your head. “I guess so. I just need to push myself more and try to fix what I can. I just might need an extra push, you know?”
“And that is what we are here for. We are all here for you. No matter the circumstances. No matter what your mind says.” Liu replied as you both faced the waterfall. He placed his hand on your shoulder again. “We will always be here. You are never alone. You will never have to feel alone.”

[This was definitely a fun one to write lol. I did try this same concept with perfect and was going to make it [perfect] a smut piece but I really just like comfy Raiden he's a very comforting character, anyway hope you enjoy]

[handj*bs]
It had all happened faster than you had realized, in the midst of a heavy battle. The sounds of war were far more deserving of your focus than the man who sent himself flying towards you.
Guns going off, screaming, metal clanging, the horrid sounds that littered the landscape, were almost blacked out as you fell to the hard dirt beneath you. Raiden landed on top of you as a long beam of acid flew past where you had been standing. Raiden's breathing was heavy and strained. He quickly got up, holding out a hand for you to take, helping you back up.
The whole situation left you shaken up, taking a moment to collect yourself. Before you turned to Raiden, “Thank you, Rai.”
He only nodded.
Earthrealm’s champion said nothing before taking off, sending a sharp bolt of electricity to one of the poor mixed up mirrors of your teammates. One of your rivals and fellow earthrealmer Johnny cage, spoke up from behind you, throwing an odd looking blonde Australian woman to the ground.
“I always knew you'd fall for each other eventually..” The American scrunched his nose as he teased you.
“How about you shut it, Cage.” Was your only retort, the fiery blush on your face hidden from the dirt that cling to the sweat on your face.
You slowly turned your attention back to fighting as rage seeped into your mind, from your allies’ teasing. Tearing through enemies only made your anger worse as Cage's teasings echoed through your head. You scaled up the winding staircase, running into more and more messed up mirrors of your teammates. Most if your opponents were easy matches, it wasn't until a much larger tarkatan Raiden blocked your path, that you stumbled backwards, eyeing up your opponent.
“This doesn't have to happen this way, I have no quarrel with Raiden.” You said, taking your fighting stance. Fear hit you like a train as the monster also assumed a fighting stance, lightning buzzing from his fists.
“My quarrel with you still stands, however.”
The much larger beast version of your ally approached you, grabbing the cloth of your gi. Pulling away, you freed yourself rather quickly from the grasp of the beast, delivering swift punches to his gut. The effect the hits had on him were little to none, you attempted to throw a roundhouse to knock him off. He palmed your kick, catching your ankle in his hand, a sadistic simper taking over his monstrous features.
His hand began to buzz as electricity swirled around the monster’s body, a blistering pain traveled through your leg. The leg he held violently shaking as tears filled your eyes, crying out in pain, he let go. You dropped to your knees, feeling weak from the amount of electricity you had just taken. The monster grabbed your face, turning your head, forcing you to stare up at him.
“My version of you is much more competent, his likeness is clearly wasted on you.” The words had Raiden's tone and cadence and yet they hurt in ways that Raiden could never -would never- attempt.
Raiden's monster doppelganger quickly dropped your face, reeling his leg back as if he was going to kick you. You tensed up, bracing for the impact, the pain, yet it never came.
A soft grunting sound was heard as you opened your eyes and you saw your Raiden, who had grabbed his leg, holding onto it. Before Kenshi sliced the creature's head, with a slushing sound it slid to the ground.
“(Y/n)! By the elder gods, please, tell me your okay!” Raiden pleaded, grabbing your face to look into your eyes.
“Yes, Raiden, Gods-! I'm fine.” You shooed Liu Kang's champion away, standing to your feet, you winced and retracted kneeling back down. Your lower leg was red and blistered, standing on it made it shake almost violently, you would not be able to stand on it.
“Doesn't look fine to me… Raiden, I'll handle this, you take him away from the fight, he needs immediate help.”
“No, I can help, please.” You pleaded, looking up at Kenshi.
Raiden kneeled back down attempting to calm you, he placed his hand on your shoulder, “Hey, Hey, right now, we need to focus on getting you help. Or this could turn into something much worse.”
“Then can Kenshi take me, at least?” Your words sent a pain through Raiden as he slowly backed away from you.
Raiden did well to disguise the hurt in his heart, looking to Kenshi, who only shook his head. “Raiden is best equipped to help, I am more needed here.”
With a huff, you looked back up at Raiden, who only gave you a sympathetic look. Before bending down, to guide your arm over his shoulder, his hand sat in the dip of your hip. Raiden's hand pushed you into his body, you struggled to stand up, the shaking of your dominant leg only made Raiden more worried. Raiden and you both struggled down the steps, dodging stray attacks from other fights. When Raiden finally got the two of you to the base of the stairway, he sat you down, breathing heavily and clutching his stomach.
“Are you okay?” You attempted to stand, falling to your knees again, “Raiden…”
“Yeah, yeah, I'm fine… you weren't the only one that needed a break from the battle.” His words were muffled by his pained grimace, “Mistook an enemy scorpion for our ally, he was less than pleased.”
“Come on, Raiden, we can't give up, we can't die here.” You pleaded, crawling closer to him.
Raiden's pained expression faltered, if only for a second, he smiled. Looking up at you Raiden, lifted up onto his arms, “You're right, like always, we're in this together, yeah?”
You gave him a small smile, “Yeah.”
“Come here, hopefully this works and I don't end up frying us.” Raiden's playful tone hid his real fear; he had tried this move one other time and it failed, luckily leaving him unscathed. Now, that you were in the picture and both of you were already injured, he had to concentrate thoroughly on his movements.
You crawled over to Raiden, getting close as he wrapped his arm around you. Raiden exhaled deeply, fear eating at the back of his brain, tossing his hand up in the air. Lightning struck his hand, almost as if Raiden's fear had seeped into you, you hid in Raiden's chest.
Attempting to shield yourself from the lightning enveloping the two of you, the knowledge that you had successfully teleported and Raiden's beaming pride were still hidden to you. Until you heard a familiar voice, “(y/n)? Raiden? Are you injured?”
Quickly turning your eyes locked onto Raiden's divine counterpart, who worriedly approached. Raiden, stood to his feet still holding his stomach, the blood had begun to soak the white fabric of his gi.
“He can't stand, please, tend to him first.” Raiden said, making room for his godly counterpart to move to you. Lightning crackled around his hands and your body tightened in fear, the remaining stress from your previous fight lingering in your mind.
The Lightning he provided soothed your damaged nerves and healed what had been done. Your legs stopped shaking and the blisters faded, small jolts still remained but most of the physical trauma had been undone.
Raiden smiled as you stood to your feet, before looking to his titan form, who approached him next. Lord Raiden wore a small frown as his smaller and younger counterpart showed him the slash on his side, “What happened to the two of you? You're supposed to be two of our best warriors.”
“I only had a lapse in judgment and the foe, (y/n) took on, was far too big for him to fight alone. He weakened him up enough for me and Kenshi Takahashi to knock him out of the fight.” Raiden smiled to you, but the Tarkatan Raiden's words still lingered in your mind, biting at the back of your brain.
“No, I wasn't strong enough…” You said, your facade of being the strong and independent fighter faltered as your insecurities flooded through you, “I did my best b-”
Lord Raiden cut you off, his words came with the waving of a hand, “You need not explain your mistakes to me, now you only need to rest, heal further so the fight can continue.”
The booming of his voice was a stark contrast to the Raiden you were used to, your eyes found your Raiden, who had appeared at your side, offering a hand. He wore the same tender smile as always, you took his hand, standing to your feet, “The only thing that makes you weak is not knowing when a task is too big.” He lectured you, walking into the temple, “You have so much ambition that it clouds your senses, that doesn't have to be a downfall… Just don't hesitate to ask for help next time.”
Raiden's words came from a good place, he was only trying to comfort you, “But, I shouldn't have to need help, you always find a way to save the day… I've grown to both admire you and despise you for it..”
The sides of Raiden's smile fell as he took you through the halls of the temple. He peaked around a corner, there were a few cots littering the empty room, “I like helping you…” Raiden allowed you to enter the room first, “It makes me feel nice knowing that I've been of use to you.”
The cot closest to the door was the one you chose, sitting on it with a huff, you replied, “Yeah, but I'm a fighter. It's all I've ever been and if you have to save my hide every time I get in over my head, that makes me-”
“You're not weak.” Raiden said, sitting in the seat beside you, “I know you're not because I look up to you, I admire you in every thing you do.”
Raiden's words made you smile, “I'm a horrible person to look up to.”
“No, you're not, I like helping you because I want you safe… over our time spent together, I've grown feelings for you.” Raiden said, clutching at his chest, “It started off as admiration, how amazing you were at everything lord Liu Kang asked you to do and then it became stronger. It turned into adoration and I became scared… to speak around you or train when you were already there, but when I could I really enjoyed popping in to help. It made me feel like we were a team, just us two, you know?”
Raiden's confession hit you out of nowhere, it almost left you dumbstruck. When you finally ran it through your mind enough times for you to comprehend what was said, you looked up at the monk smiling.
“Raiden…” The way his name sounded from your lips, earned his attention, you leaned forward to place your hand on his knee. “You could've told me.”
“No, I wasn't strong enough..” He said, mirroring your words.
The trivial nature your words held seeping into your understanding, you placed a hand to Raiden's jaw, kissing him softly. His own hand fluttered up to yours, as he deepened the kiss he pushed you back slightly.
“Raiden…” you pulled away locking eyes with the champion, his eyebrow quirked before he began to chuckle lightly.
“We shouldn't our friends are out there fighting-”
Your soft eyes peered into Raiden, who slowly began to melt, his lip caught between his teeth as his mind tore through his current situation. It wasn’t that he did not want to, if anything it was a mix of his fears and his guilt attacking his mind all at once, Raiden’ eyes fluttered from the door to the room you were in back to your pleading face.
“Fine, but-” Raiden pointed a finger, his usually small smile now slightly mischievous, “Quickly and quietly.”
You nodded your smile growing larger by the second, “Yeah, whatever.”
The words you spoke coeval with the hastiness of you leaning over the cot placing small kisses to Raiden’s plush lips as he laughed, “I’m se-” He grabbed your shoulders, his eyes narrowing to hold your attention fully, “I’m serious, when all this is over we can do things right and take it slow… Right now, there’s a war to win.”
The depth of Raiden’s words dug into you, nodding slowly, your eyes stared forward locked in contact with Raiden’s own. Raiden only laughed, “By the elder gods you are perfect.”
He kissed you, sweetly, his hand falling down to your thigh, grabbing at the flesh, Raiden pulled away from you. Standing up from his seated position, he kneeled down in front of you, “quickly and quietly.”
“Wait, but I thought-?”
“My energy is needed for the fight later… but I have no issues allowing you a release.” He smiled, staring up at you, his big brown eyes melting you.
He hastily unzipped your pants, his calloused hand finding your growing erection, he lazily pumped his hand, the loose feeling felt nice but was not nearly enough to satisfy your growing hunger for the champion of Earthrealm. Biting down on your lip your hips bucked, involuntarily, you wanted more. You needed more.
“Rai, please.”
Your soft cries made the shaolin stop, “My sweet dove, I said quiet.”
A groan slipped from your lips at Raiden’s teasings, his words sounded stern but his small smile gave his true intentions away, “Raiden, you also said quickly.”
Your p*nis throbbed in his hand, Raiden glanced down, nodding, “That is true,”
He began pumping again, his hand tighter this time, the feeling was amazing and by the way Raiden stared at you, you weren't the only one enjoying the action. Raiden stared at his hand intently making th movements perfect, he pumped from the bas, squeezing his hand tightly around your c**k, before twisting his hand as he got higher up, and running the pad of his thumb over your red aching tip.
When Raiden’s hand moved over your tip, the perc*m collecting at the top got massaged into the skin below it, once Raiden was finally satisfied with his teasing he pulled his hand away, licking his lips. He watched as you looked over at him, panting and needy, he only smiled before clearing his throat and taking you into his mouth. His hand settled at the base of your pen*s, applying pressure, the other hand moved to your balls, gently playing with the pliable flesh, the rush of stimulation had you shaking. Raiden’s movements drove you crazy, slipping a hand onto his shoulder and giving him a tight squeeze, making him smile around you.
Raiden took you in his mouth deeper, hitting the back of his throat, Raiden gagged and the vibrations sent you slamming into your climax, c*mming into Raiden’s mouth. Raiden pulled away from you, swallowing your seed, looking up at you with lust-filled eyes and your c*m dripping down his chin. A shaky laugh trickled from your lips, Raiden frowned slightly and wiped his face.

Thunderstorms in Spring
~Welp, just as fast as I posted that first installment, now we have a second one! I didn't expect everyone to like the first one so much, and I wanna thank you guys for your loving words! And the previous piece honestly gave me so much work to go off on that I decided to continue with a sequel (will this become a possible series, idk, but there's a second one now, so who knows).~
~I, once again, want to thanks the artists in this community who made their pieces of White Haired!Raiden and contributed to the whole "Oops, Kung Lao's Dead Again" AU, you can find them credited in the previous post since I don't want to annoy them with constantly tagging them whenever I make another installment with this series lol.~
~Before we continue just wanted to put some mild context to ensure this makes sense. Fire God Liu Kang starts getting deja vu as certain coincidences and events start playing out that are too eerily similar to how things played out during the MK9 game. All roads were seemingly leading to Kung Lao dying in his timeline, and Liu Kang struggled with how to cope and deal with this. On one hand, he did not want his friend-…His new teacher…To die, especially since he tried so hard to tailor-make this timeline to ensure everyone got a happy ending.
Yet, at the same time, he refused to stoop down to Kronika's level and start altering the timeline until it was his "perfect" utopia. However, his fears and suspicion about the situation become even more realized when Raiden gets gravely injured, and the only thing that prevented him from kneeling over was the thunder amulet infused with his person (and some other magical shit, idk). From this, Raiden gains his iconic white hair, and this gives Liu Kang a heart attack. To make a long story short, Kung Lao ends up dying at the hands of the villains, Raiden is going through the stages of grief, but he's going down the same dark path as the previous Raiden, now becoming Dark Raiden. And Liu Kang has to finally interfere.~
Still confused? Too late, now on to the story!
Previous // Next
Characters: Raiden, Raiden's Sister (Fuji), Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Mentions of Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Madam Bo, and Jax
Word Count - 8,001 (wow!)
Ships: Johnny/Kenshi - Past Raiden/Kung Lao
Warnings: Canon Typical Violence (with less blood), Heavy Talks About Character Death
~The Netherrealms - Undisclosed time and place~
Sulfur, ash, smoke, burning stone, and landscapes; the smell of the Netherrealm. Although Raiden's memories are fuzzy at best and nonexistent at worst, he remembers this in near clarity. His vision presents him looking up at the hellish sky as if he's lying down on the ground. He remembers not moving; it's too painful to move. He remembers breathing heavily. Is it because of the suffocating air of the Netherrealms? Or perhaps because of the blinding pain that Raiden remembers experiencing.
He can remember not just hissing and groaning in pain but screaming and writhing-silently begging for it to end. In this mnemonic dream, everything was selective when it came to what he saw, heard, smelled, and tasted. For taste, he can taste the iron of his own blood mixed in with something foul. Could it be the rancid air or the fact that this mixture almost tasted like poison?
His hearing in this dream is quite literally selective. Some people sounded horribly muffled, requiring Raiden to strain his ears to hear them. Others, he could perceive with great clarity, and then there were those he could not hear at all, their lips moving with no audible sound. Then there was his sight. Like the other senses, Raiden was faced with blurred faces, some only possessing one discernable feature, such as their eyes, nose, mouths, ears, hair, etc. Others were completely faceless to Raiden, with only their speech or smell being the one thing Raiden could cling to.
But what often overrode all these senses was the overwhelming pain he felt at this moment. Three figures stood above him. One was featureless; the only distinguishing aspect of this entity was that they were female-presenting as their speech sounded feminine, but it was horribly dimmed. Another figure was only distinguishable thanks to the glowing eyes they possessed and distinct dragon tattoos that crawled up their arms. If Raiden concentrates, he can maybe recollect what this individual is saying, but this pain prevents him from doing so.
Then there was Kung Lao. Deadass, just his long-time best friend, Kung Lao. Out of all the figures in front of Raiden in this instance, Kung Lao-he could see and hear with such perspicuity. Kung Lao stood beside the lying Raiden, tears in his eyes, slurring his speech, holding tightly to the thunder wielders' shaking hand.
"It's ok, Raiden! It's ok, you're going to be ok!" Kung Lao sobbed, trying, but failing, to smile at Raiden despite his tears actively gracing Raiden's face.
Raiden doesn't remember if he said anything back to him. His sight throughout this scene remained on his friend…At least, he thinks they're friends. There's a foreign feeling that encompasses him whenever he looks at Lao, and it's an overwhelming sense of love. And, I mean, people can definitely love their best friends. He and Kung Lao had known each other since they were children. Lao was a reckless, poor kid, and Raiden was a boy from a well-off family. Despite their class differences, they saw something likable about the other. But this love was more than just having a natural affinity for someone he's known all his life.
This felt…Stronger? Louder? Raiden doesn't know how to describe it. If it wasn't for the pain, Raiden would get lost in Kung Lao's chocolate eyes. He would untie his short ponytail and play with his hair before readjusting his look. Raiden notices little details about his friend that others might not have picked up on. Like his dimples when he smiles, even under such stressful circumstances, the way his face piercings adds to his cocky personality, and his undercut brings back fond memories of the pair trying to learn how to cut his hair which ended disastrously. Raiden wanted…To kiss him dearly…
And just like how Raiden held his perspective on Lao, Kung Lao hasn't torn away his gaze on Raiden, spitting out promises of what they will do together once Raiden was right as rain in rapid fire. What ended up redirecting Kung Lao's attention was when the figure with the glowing eyes was mumbling something.
"What?" Kung Lao snaps his head over to the tattooed figure with hopeful confusion on his face.
This tattooed individual, Raiden could not understand fully. However, he was able to catch on to some words: Amulet, Raiden, Entity, and Consequences. The fully faceless being, who was also present, gestures as if they're conversing with the pair - but Raiden cannot hear their input on the matter.
"I don't care how you do it! I…I just want him to survive! Please, Liu! Save him! Save Raiden!" Kung Lao cries, holding onto Raiden's hand like his life depended on it. As if, if he didn't clutch onto Raiden, he would lose him forever.
The tattooed individual holds their gaze toward Kung Lao, their silence and body language hinting that they were…Uneased and uncertain. The tattooed looks at the feminine figure and nods, saying something in the mumbled jargon they spoke. But the three individuals in front of Raiden were all in agreement. They were going to save him. He was going to survive this…Somehow.
Kung Lao focuses back on Raiden, smiling at his downed friend. "Look at me. Look at me, Raiden. You're going to be alright! Liu is gonna help ya. You…" Kung Lao looks Raiden over, primarily where his stomach is. Why was he looking there? "You're going to be alright. I love you. I love you so much, and I'm not going to let you die, ok?"
Raiden feels his heart flutter as if Kung Lao said something that would've usually made the thunder wielder swoon. But what was it? Despite being able to understand everything Kung Lao was telling him, his dream censored him; twice it did. Raiden feels something swell within him, this desire to respond to Kung Lao. Words at the tip of his tongue that he wanted to get out.
But then the pain gets worse. A LOT worse. His body was on fire as if electricity was coursing through his body. Raiden screams, making sounds that one would not think a human could make. He writhes, so much so that he feels someone holding him down. He remembers wanting it to stop; that dying was a better alternative than enduring this much pain.
-
Raiden jolts awake, sitting upright, sweaty, and breathing heavily. His eyes roam about his room, taking stock of what's around him. It was just a dream. He's in his room, in his bed. Not in…That hellish place…Whatever that was. Yet, he's not calming down. It felt real, too real. The pain, the heat, the people talking to him. It was as if he experienced it before, and there was a part of himself that felt like it was factual. But it was so…Surreal…
"Ugh! Aaah!" Raiden clutches his stomach, where his lower and upper body meet. It's happening again.
He can feel static dancing off his person in painful waves, coursing through his body from his stomach. He doubles over as he clutches his stomach in a hugging position. He can feel it wanting to get out again, this strange, unknown power, as it swells in electric prowess, begging to be let out.
"Raiden? Raiden!" Fuji's voice sounds distant, yet tangible, as she rushes to her brother's side. "Raiden, what's wrong? Is it happening aga-ah!" Fuji feels a jolt of electricity shock her, and she pulls away from touching her brother.
Raiden hisses through the growing pain, "Y-yes, it's happening again! It's stronger this time!"
"Come on, let's get you outside!" Fuji says in a hurried tone as she quickly dresses herself in whatever she can get her hands on in her brother's room.
Raiden groans as he tries to remove himself from his bed (something he kinda doesn't want to do right now) but ends up rolling off the mattress onto the floor with an audible grunt. Fuji is quick to Raiden's side again and helps him up with all her strength. Despite having a sleeper build in terms of muscularity and being leanly built, he was heavy to carry and drag around for someone of her strength and stature.
"Come on, come on, let's go, Raiden! We're almost to the door; let's go!" Fuji tries to encourage her brother.
"I-I'm trying, Ji. It hurts!" Raiden whines.
They both get past the front door and rush to hop onto Fuji's motorbike (she saved up ALOT of money to get this baby). She revs the engine and speeds away down the road, biking to a remote area so that her brother can let out…Whatever the fuck is going on with him.
"We're almost out of here, Raiden! Just give me-HOLY SHIT!"
Suddenly, an arc of lightning strikes the ground, deadly close to them. It's only now that Fuji notices that the night cloudy skies above were crackling with thunder and lightning (fortunately, no rain…Yet…).
"Raiden, control yourself! Just give me 2 minutes! AAH!" Fuji dodges a lightning strike that landed 3 seconds ahead of them.
"I'M TRYING!" Raiden shouts in pain, his hair and eyes glowing intensely as the power of the amulet strengthens. Throughout the trip, Raiden KNOWS that he was unintentionally shocking his sister, the poor farm boy constantly apologizing as he tries to reign in the energies coming off him.
Fuji is able to bob & weave around the constant lightning strikes and endure the shocks her brother kept giving her, just enough to reach not just the outskirts of the village but into the remote parts outside their settlement. Once they were a good 15 minutes away from Fengjian, Fuji slows down to park her bike, but this would nearly cost her. As they were about to stop, another strike of lightning hits them from behind, kicking up dirt, debris, and their bike. The motorbike ends up being tipped forward forcefully, sending the siblings flying.
"AAAAHHH!" Fuji screams as she soars above the ground before crashlanding into the tall grass nearby. Although she didn't gain that much air, thanks to her slowing down not too long ago, she still felt her ears ringing and her head and muscles aching. She makes sharp gasps as she slightly rolls in pain.
"Damnit, Raiden," Fuji hisses. "Fuck, Raiden! Raiden?" Fuji picks herself up, almost losing her footing, as she frantically looks for her older brother.
The sounds of her brother screaming gave her an idea of where he was at. He wasn't too far from her. Fuji could see lighting bouncing off his person as he was in the fetal position. As Fuji was attempting to approach him, Raiden yelled out to her, "DON'T COME ANY CLOSER!"
Fuji immediately stops in her tracks, watching her brother uselessly as he suffered. Ever since he came back home a year and a half ago, ever since Liu Kang dropped her brother off at their family home, he's had these strange abilities. But nothing like this. It has never gotten this bad! It's gotten out of control. Whatever's happening to Raiden, it's trying to get out. Fuji anxiously scours through her brain as she considers WHAT she can do to help her brother that she hasn't done before. But…BUT WHAT THE FUCK WOULD ANYONE DO IN THIS SITUATION!?! Her brother is becoming a malfunctioning transmission tower! No amount of guidance from their parents, friends, workmates, or even TikTok inspiration posts could prepare her to handle this!
There is one thing she notices about her brother in this situation. It's almost as if he's trying to hold back whatever this electrifying beast is. This gives her an idea.
"R-Raiden! Raiden, you need to let go! You can't keep holding back…Whatever this is!" Fuji shouts as loud as she can, the raging thunder clouds, cracks of lightning, and howling wind overpowering her voice.
"NO!" Raiden screams in response, fear heavily apparent in his tone. "I-FUCK-I'LL HURT YOU! LIKE LAST TIME, I'LL HURT YOU!"
Oh…
Fuji stares uselessly at Raiden as that incident plays in her head again. It was a couple months since Liu Kang returned her brother home. Raiden was…He was going through alot. What, with his sudden memory loss and having to come to terms with the lost memories, Raiden was silently coping with this alone. It's unnatural for him to bottle up his emotions. Fuji has always known her brother to speak his mind when something troubled him…Then again, his trusted confidant when he didn't want to turn to his family was Kung Lao…Who's dead…Even Madam Bo he couldn't look to for guidance; she died many years ago (peacefully, surrounded by her family). And despite the natural trust, as siblings, they both had for each other; Raiden clearly avoided speaking with her about what he was thinking and feeling.
And it finally came overhead when the siblings had a mild dispute. She doesn't even remember what they were arguing about. Could've been typical brother/sister shit. Maybe she finally confronted him about his silence and reluctance to speak about what had happened to him. Regardless, things got a bit personal, and Raiden, who is usually the patient and calm one, even during their little disagreement bouts; lashed out.
And quite literally did he lashed out. Fuji probably should've seen the telltale signs when his eyes and hair were giving a dim, white glow, but she was too riled up in the conversation to pay attention. Then it happened, Raiden yelled back at her, and suddenly, an arc of lightning erupted from him. Striking Fuji.
With a highly concentrated energy of electricity, it shocked her to the point that her body shut down temporarily…But Raiden didn't see it like that, at the moment. His sister, his closest friend aside from Kung Lao, was lying on the kitchen floor, dead. Their elderly parents arrived home to see Raiden sobbing loudly as he tried to revive his sister while lightning was pulsing off him. They couldn't get close enough to each reach the phone to call for emergency services as arcs of lightning were going everywhere in the house, practically destroying it (the expenses were much, even for their family). And maybe it was the constant shock of electricity that restarted Fuji and kept her from fully kneeling over. Who knows, there was a lot of pandemonium going on at that moment, but she remembered jolting back to life, breathing heavily as she tried to scoot away from her brother.
But there was one thing she regretted that day. Being so scared of Raiden that she had the look of someone seeing a monster, a threat.
Fuji can ascertain that he's been holding it in ever since that day. Because he's scared of hurting her again. And sure, they would both go out of town to a remote area to let Raiden air out and release the energies of the amulet infused to his body. But there was a deafening disconnect since that day. And it pains Fuji that it wasn't until now that she realized she'd shut Raiden out because she was scared of her brother.
Another painful cry emits from Raiden. The storms above were becoming dangerous, Fuji felt like she was going to be swept off her feet by the roaring winds. Although Fuji was scared of the mystical prowess her brother possessed, she loved him more than she feared him.
"Raiden, you're not going to hurt me! I know you won't, I trust that you won't!" Fuji has to now scream over the raging storm as she puts some further distance between her and her brother, readjusting her fallen motorbike. "Whatever you're holding on to, you have to let it go!"
"Fuji, I-"
"Raiden, don't you fucking argue with me!" Fuji shouts, using her "mom voice." Fuji might be just as soft-spoken as her brother, but she knew when to assert herself and take up space when needed. "You're going to harm me far worse the longer you keep holding on to...Well, that! You'll destroy all of Fengjian doing what you're doing RIGHT NOW!"
I mean, Fuji can't say for certain that it will. But storms like this can definitely level villages, and she's not about to wait and find out if this is the case. Fuji yelps loudly as a soaring large tree branch flies by her, the dark-haired sister ducking behind her bike for safety. There's another resounding scream from Raiden, and she looks in his direction with extreme worry. However, there was something different about this scene.
Raiden was howling, sure, but he was releasing the energies of the amulet. The best way one could describe this scene is that it's like watching Raiden raise his power level as if he's a Dragon Ball Z character. The storm around this time worsens, so much so that Fuji ends up holding onto her, albeit skidding, bike while screaming herself.
Then it...Stops...The roiling thunder, the crack of lightning, the raging winds calmed. Fuji opens her eyes and looks to the still-night sky, the dark clouds slowly parting to reveal the gibbous moon above, the sound of thunder now becoming an infrequent presence. When she finally takes a look at her brother...She might as well be looking at an all-powerful being, maybe even a god.
Raiden was levitating, hair and clothes flowing as if he were in water, sparks of electricity visibly coursing through his being as his hair and eyes glowed a godly white. Fuji stared in awe as electric energies sparked off him, unsure of how else to take in this scene in front of her. Her brother would soon gracefully touch the ground again before kneeling over. Fuji cautiously approaches her brother as if she's entering an emperor's throne room unannounced.
"...Raiden?"
"...Yeah?" Raiden, now sounding like his usual, soft-spoken, self, looks up at his sister. His face plastered with the same amazement as she possessed.
"Are you...Ok?"
"I think so," Raiden looks himself over, watching the energies pulse around him. "...Yeah. Yeah, I think I'm alright now."
"What was that? This never happened before." Fuji starts getting more bold as she approaches her brother. She wanted to dust him down but hesitated as the energies continued to encompass Raiden.
Raiden is quiet for a moment. During this silence, the electrical current finally dissipated. "...I'm sorry, Fuji."
"For what?"
"For...For everything."
Fuji's heart nearly breaks the moment she hears Raiden's voice crack. Raiden's eyes become glassy as he begins to cry. "No. No, Raiden," Fuji takes the first step to break the space between them, holding his shaking hand in hers. "I should be the one apologizing. I...I'm not going to pretend that I know what happened to you that caused all this. These strange powers, you're new color," Fuji brushes some stray hair behind Raiden's ear, "Or why you can't remember the past...I don't even know how many years."
"But you clearly needed help. I can't assist with any physical help, but I can help with this," Fuji pokes at his heart, smiling at her elder brother. "I was scared of you, Raiden...Because you became...Unrecognizable to me. But I was wrong to emotionally shut you out. You're still my brother, and I'm going to still be your sister."
Raiden chuckles, smiling through his tears as he fondly looks at Fuji. "Thank you, sis."
"Now come on, we best get home. Mom and Dad, if they're not awake already, are going to be worried about why we were gone during an active storm. Also, you're still in your underwear."
"What?" Raiden looks at himself, finally realizing that he's still in a t-shirt and boxers. "W-why didn't you help me get dressed!?!"
"You were literally screaming and shooting lightning out of your hands, what did you want me to do?" Fuji responds as she gets her motorbike prepped for departure.
"I would've been fine with a hoodie or something," Raiden says, now in a bit of a jesting mood. He does notice that his sister is wearing his clothes and points at her. "Can you at least hand me my hoodie?"
"Can't. Not wearing anything under this."
"I can literally see your PJs under there, Ji."
"Ok, but it's cold. No thanks to you," Fuji sticks her tongue at him teasingly.
The pair continue their sibling banter as they make their way back to Fengjian. The back & forth is interrupted as Raiden grows silent suddenly. Growing increasingly uncomfortable with the silence, Fuji breaks the ice.
"Something on your mind?"
Raiden remains still.
"...Come on, Raiden. If something is troubling you...Listen, I might not have all the answers, but at least let me know what's going on."

~Two Days Later~
Raiden closes the mirrored medicine cabinet, the soft click of the small door indicating it was successfully shut. Raiden is faced with his reflection. White, shoulder-length hair, brown eyes (that occasionally turn white, he has noticed), upside-down heart-shaped face, chubby cheeks, oval brows; these features he has seen time and time again. Yet, this look still feels...Foreign to him. How did he get the white hair? Nothing in his memories can track down the point in time when he dyed his hair (Fuji says that he dyed his hair...But...).
He looked...Older. As if he's experienced many things in his life. What those experiences are though-he cannot tell you. Raiden places a hairband in his mouth as he gathers his strands to recreate the man-bun he fondly prefers to wear. It's the one thing that gives him a sense of familiarity. He can remember precisely how he favors pinning up his hair. Raiden looks at himself in the mirror again, staring into his reflections' brown eyes as if he's searching for something behind them. His gaze then focuses on a small picture. A photo was taken when he, Kung Lao, and Fuji went on a school trip in their elementary years. Their class went fishing that day, and he can distinctly remember his kid self getting frustrated because he couldn't catch a single fish that day. Despite living in a village that was on the water, fishing wasn't a skill Raiden acquired. He remembers Kung Lao always being able to catch a large or small one, bragging about how he was going to take his catches back home to eat.
Perhaps it was Kung Lao's bragging that made his younger self jealous and throw a fit. But in that same instance, Kung Lao actually taught him the tricks he used to capture fish. It was Kung Lao that turned that sour trip into a journey he will always remember.
...
Why can't he remember anything? Past that day, when the pair competed to see who could harvest the most cabbages and pay for the loser's meal at Madam Bo's, everything else is a blur. And maybe this wouldn't bother him much; people can have fuzzy memories, especially if they were beaten so severely they had to be bandaged with extreme care by a stranger. But it's not just a few memories that he can't recollect; it's practically all of them past that day at Madam Bo's. Even more alarming...
...He had forgotten that his best friend, Kung Lao, had died. Now, unless he's getting a grave case of early dementia, who would miss that their own best friend died, their own funeral procession? When his sister and parents came forward about this with him, it was only then that Raiden realized that some years passed as well. That meant that he was missing years-YEARS-of life experiences that were now gone from his mind. Even more confusing, he wasn't in a coma. At least, he doesn't think he was.
Ok, lemme explain. Based on what Fuji and his parents told him, some man named Liu Kang offered him a position of high-paying work. It required him to work in the United States, and both he and Kung Lao were offered the job; both men said yes to this opportunity. Looking back at it, in his family's words, they should've pushed back further as they were suspicious of this Liu Kang fellow and this job he was offering their son. But seeing the joy on Raiden's face and his determination to leave with Liu Kang convinced them that their son could handle themselves and pave his own future. Occasionally, he would visit home and send money & unique souvenirs before promptly leaving back to the States. Apparently, he was a martial arts teacher in the States, but everything else was unknown to them. It was a shock to everyone when they heard that Kung Lao died. It came out of left field. Based on what Liu Kang and Raiden told them, an accident happened where some equipment malfunctioned and blew up in Kung Lao's face, a lacerated throat being the primary cause of death. After that, Raiden was radio silent to his family. It wasn't until Liu Kang came to their house in the dead of night years later with Raiden in tow, bandaged and bruised, and left without another word. They haven't seen Liu Kang since.
Aside from the mild inconsistencies (if he was in the States while his family was in China, of course, there would be some muddled details), their story was pretty straightforward based on their point of view...Yet, deep down, Raiden couldn't help but...Feel like there's more to this story. Not that he's distrustful of his family; he truly believes what they said. However, somewhere deep within his conscience, it felt like the story they told him was the tale he WANTED them to believe. As if Raiden knew the truth that explains the holes and contradictions that riddled their recollection of previous events. Yet, the answers to these truths are hidden even from Raiden. Always at the tip of his tongue but forbidden from ever speaking them.
Raiden enters the kitchen; his mother and sister preparing breakfast and lunch for Raiden. Seeing him enter, Fuji smiles from ear to ear. "You slept in, lazy butt."
"Oh?" Raiden looks at the mounted clock, and yep! He's an hour and thirty minutes late to work. "Aw, crap!"
"Calm yourself, boy. I already called the Farm. They were understanding and said to come in when you're ready." His mother says as she sets down a bowl full of steamed Bao Buns. Enough to last until lunch, really.
Looking at the bowl, Raiden knew why they cooked so much. Kung Lao, the gluttonous butt he was, would always visit Raiden so that they could travel to work together. And without fail, he was always raiding their kitchen for any leftovers no one else wanted. It became nearly tradition to cook a bit extra in case Kung Lao decided to pay them a visit.
...Apparently, old habits die hard...Raiden smiles and kisses his mother gingerly on the cheek. "Thank you, mother. I don't want to keep them longer, though. I'll see you guys when I get back." Raiden quickly packs his own lunch, thanks to the assistance of his sister, Fuji, who was already 3 steps ahead of him and grabs a couple Bao Buns before heading out the house.
Walking to the Farm, Raiden couldn't help but feel a sorrowful, almost lonely, acceptance of the village around him. Every building, path, small body of water, old face, new face, everything about Fengjian felt like a ghost to him. It was familiar, yet so dissimilar to Raiden. This village has grown in the past years he was in and out of this settlement. But what disheartens him is the absence of his friend. Raiden only wishes that Kung Lao was here, perhaps he would've helped him make sense of all of this. This...Amnesia mess that he's in. And Raiden would've confided with Madam Bo...You know, if she were still alive. Her death had more consistency; she simply died of old age. It was still a shock; she was his adopted grandmother in Raiden's eyes. So in Raiden's mind, he not only lost a close friend but also a family member and valuable mentor.
Raiden found himself staring at points of interest that held significance to him, especially if it related to Kung Lao. There was a cherry blossom tree up a hill nearby that he and Lao would frequent without fail. Be it to do school work, to see who can climb that tree the fastest and highest, or to chill. It was there that Kung Lao, at the age of 15, expressed his desire to explore their horizons past Fengjian. Raiden still grins to himself, thinking back on the many adventurers Kung Lao wanted to have (although few of them were a bit exaggerated). How they both promised-once they were older-they would travel outside of Fengjian, and experience the world together. Somewhere, deep down, Raiden feels like this has come true if they have gone to the States before...But it feels like more was there than simply hopping over to another country.
There's a convenience store nearby where Kung Lao's house was. It was a favorite, and every time the pair visited it, Kung Lao would rant and rave about all the many meals one could make from just a few store-bought convenience items. Being a child of a middle-class family, Raiden was always baffled by the "dishes" Kung Lao would make, most of them hit or miss due to the cheap ingredients. But Kung Lao loved to cook. He probably would've wanted to become one with the kind of passion he had. But Kung Lao cooked to survive due to...Well, let's just say, he was a poor kid.
Then there was the Farm. They were always getting into some kind of trouble there. Playing daring jokes on each other, helping one another with the back-breaking labor, then the fulfilling trip to Madam Bo's Teahouse. All fond memories.
Before Raiden knew it, the day was already reaching its finale. Raiden worked overtime, something he was often known to do. And, you know, working such late hours without Kung Lao there was...Disheartening. Kung Lao wouldn't assist in the work. In his mind, his shift ended at 5:30 P.M. But he would at least stay with Raiden. To provide him company during the late hours. This time around, the nightlife critters and beasts were his only company. The walk home was seemingly worse. The darkened village felt quiet, with only a few shops open that had loud commotion going on. Friends hanging out and enjoying a good drink together as they drank and ate the rest of the evening away.
The only moment of solace Raiden gained was when he walked back into his house. His mother, father, and sister were loud in conversation as they went over the recent village gossip, village news & politics, and pastime activities they engaged in. It was a breath of fresh air having this personal community that broke the solemn silence that his best friend filled. The night ended with Raiden sitting down with his family and enjoying the dinner they made. It closed with him and his sister, Fuji, cleaning up after their parents as they turned in early for the night.
"Hey."
"Hmm?" Raiden gives Fuji a side glance as he continues to clean up dishes.
"You feeling ok?" Fuji eyes him curiously.
Two days ago, Raiden finally came forward with Fuji about the emptiness he's been feeling. Even though he's in a village that he was born & raised in, filled with familiar faces and family, the fact of the matter is that he dearly missed Kung Lao. But...But it was more than just grieving for a best friend, not that it would make a difference. But Kung Lao filled deeper shoes than just simply being a friend. When he's in bed, he feels like the mattress is too big all of a sudden. He can't eat certain dishes because it will all remind him of Lao. He finds himself crying to himself because he forgot for a moment that Kung Lao would not answer his door or his phone if Raiden were to call. All these things, even as a best friend, would be reasonable to miss and grieve over. But there was something more to their friendship than that.
"Do you think you loved him?" Raiden remembers Fuji asking him when he came forward with this.
"...I don't know...And if I did...Now I have to reconcile with the fact that I'll never get to tell him..."
Raiden smiles at his sister and playfully bumps shoulders with her. "Now that I'm home? I'm feeling good, for now. The rice and pork was really good, Fuji."
"I know right! I used this new spice that my friends were crazy about. It's a Korean spice-"
Fuji rambled on about how she made the dish they had for dinner, and Raiden eagerly listened and conversed with her. Even though Kung Lao was gone, he could try to fill that space with more people who loved him.
-
Outside the residence where Raiden lived, a shadowed figure rests on the rooftops of the sleeping Fengjian village, watching the building like a predator that has found its prey. Blazing red eyes stare through the open windows, watching closely the two figures who pass it daily, unaware they have an interested third party observing them. The being in question, however, was laser-focused on Raiden, watching his every move, taking them to memory. The show would be over, unfortunately, as they closed the curtains and cut off the lights, slumbering like the rest of the village.
The shadowed individual smiles, "Worry not, Raiden. We'll be reunited soon enough. You'll see. Then not even death will tear us apart."
And in a flash of mystical air and dead cherry blossom petals, the figure is gone.

~Somewhere in California~
Kenshi groans awake as he feels inklings of the sun peering out from the half-closed curtains. Half-naked, Kenshi, through his sight provided by Sento, is greeted with the ceiling of the luxury apartment belonging to Jonathan Carlton, Johnny Cage. Kenshi felt an added weight on the bed he slept on, knowing who was sharing the mattress with him. Despite this, Kenshi twisted his head to drink in the blissfully still-sleeping man beside him, Johnny.
You know, if you asked Kenshi that he would end up in the loving arms of a pompous Hollywood star, he would've had you killed for even thinking about it. Even when their relationship evolved from enemies to friends, Kenshi would've thought that was the final step in their relationship. Just being friends. But it all fell into place when...When Kung Lao died. Funny how shared trauma can bring others together...
You see, Before Kung Lao died, Johnny was good friends with Kung Lao. They both had their similarities. They were both friends with whom some would consider "the straight man" of their other half, they were both hella self-confident and prideful of their capabilities. The only thing that seemingly differentiated them was that one was poor while the other was rich. Oh, and the fact that Kung Lao was more disciplined when it came to his fighting prowess, compared to Johnny, who was more of a "free-form jazz" type of guy. Although Kung Lao expressed mild annoyance at the actor's Hollywood pride (even Kung Lao wasn't that egotistical), the pair worked off each other pretty well to be good friends.
So when Kung Lao died, aside from Raiden, Johnny took his death the hardest. Being perhaps the more foolhardy of the group (even with his years of maturity the more he was asked to help Liu Kang with other realm matters), that moment was when Johnny really "grew up." It's not like he was new to death, the kind of work they did, they have met many instances where they watched people die in front of them or saw corpses in horrendous states. But it was one thing when it was someone who you weren't close to or didn't know in general. It's another thing when it's someone you do know and have history with.
After Kung Lao's death, Johnny's way of coping was trying to fill in the shoes that Kung Lao left behind. Kung Lao always had a way of lightening the mood that was unique compared to what Johnny would do. Where the actor would constantly spill movie references that no one but Johnny understood, Kung Lao knew how to inspire from the heart. And that took skill and experience to pull off, something Johnny wasn't too well versed in. Looking back on it, Kenshi sees them in a more positive light than before. However, he can't say the same for Raiden. When they were still considered the protectors of Earthrealm, Raiden was spiraling into his own self-hatred and grief. With good intentions, Johnny tried to be a friend to Raiden, wanting to reassure Raiden that they had his back...It didn't end well.
Johnny's desire to keep their friend group together, even though they were drifting apart was harming Johnny more than he thought it was. So when Liu Kang suddenly announced that he would no longer be needing their services, Johnny was quick to take his offer. Now, to the untrained ear, one would think:
"Of course, Johnny Cage dipped out after the going got going! He's an actor who never saw any of the cruelties of the real world because of his wealth!"
Which, in some way, could be the reason. But Kenshi saw something else to Johnny's reason for dipping out. As stated before, Johnny put a lot of emotional energy trying to keep their friend group alive. He tried to fill the shoes that Kung Lao left behind, and in the process, he was draining himself as he tried to keep everyone happy while everyone was coping with Lao's death. No longer being obligated to be Earthrealms protector, meant that Johnny no longer had to hold onto the tearing strings since they were all going their separate ways.
Their relationship still wouldn't blossom until nearly a year and a half ago. Granted, looking back at their previous interactions, perhaps it was fate that they would find solace with each other. Kenshi, with the line of work he involved himself in, had to go into hiding but had nowhere to turn to. Hunkering down with Johnny would've been a foolish thought; he was the exact opposite of discreet. But, because he had to cut back on some expenses, Johnny was living in an apartment building that was a perfect "hiding in plain sight" spot. With Kenshi as his new roommate, Johnny got a bit personal with Kenshi as he was helped dress his wounds. The rest was history as Kenshi found himself kissing Johnny in the heat of the moment. A year and a half later, Kenshi is still in disbelief that they're together still.
While Kenshi would love to admire the sleeping person beside him, he knew that he couldn't stay long. He was still in hiding, and he promised Jax that he would meet him at a disclosed location to discuss next steps. He's careful to slip out of bed without disturbing Johnny, swiftly getting cleaned up and dressed before walking into the kitchen to prepare himself a cup of joe.
"Mmhm. Morning sunshine."
Kenshi nearly jumps out of his skin as he feels strong arms wrap around his waist. He smiles as he cranes his head back to look at Johnny. "Did I wake you?"
"Didn't feel your body keeping me warm, honey. You leaving already?" Johnny says in a husky tone as he nuzzles behind the blind swordsman.
"Have to. I have an associate who's waiting for me. I might not be able to stay here for much longer."
"Again?" Johnny complains in an overexaggerated tone. "How long will you be gone?"
"Don't know, depends on the situation."
This isn't the first time Kenshi and Johnny been separated for long periods of time, something they were both well accustomed to. Johnny was an actor/director, which means he was constantly traveling to other states and countries for filming. Working for the OIA (Outworld Investigation Agency) and the FBI, Kenshi was either traveling the world or traveling realms. Perhaps being the only Earthrealmer who didn't hang up the mantle of being Liu Kang's warrior.
Johnny continues to whine about being alone without Kenshi (even though he'll be alright), playing up his desperation for Kenshi to "stay home" with him. And Kenshi will admit, he can definitely see why he was, and still is, a popular star in Hollywood.
"Can you at least leave me a goodbye gift?" Johnny's fingers start to linger towards Kenshi's waistbelt.
"Johnny," Kenshi chuckles as he moves one of his hands away from his waist, kissing the fingers individually. "I can't right now; I'm going to be late."
"Aw, come on! Just a quicky?"
"No, Johnny."
Cage huffs, but there is no anger hinted there. He just kisses Kenshi's neck and sighs. "Fine. Just come back sooner than later, ok? Bed feels empty without ya."
"I bet it does," Kenshi jests.
"I know it does." As Johnny giggles, his eyes glance at the reflection displayed on the microwave mirror, and he sees…Something moving. A tall, humanoid figure attempting to stealth because it assumes it hasn't been seen.
Just as quickly as Johnny notices this, he quickly grabs a kitchen knife from the knife holder and swiftly throws it at the intruder. Even with his fast reflexes, they weren't as fast as the unwanted guest. The Intruder grabs the knife, blade in hand, while their glowing red eyes stay trained on the couple.
Kenshi, already alerted that something is wrong, calls for Sento to his hand. The magic sword unsheathes itself and flies over to their location. Before reaching Kenshi's hand, with his mystical sight and ability to utilize Sento, even if the weapon is not in his hand, he sharply gestures his one hand in multiple directions in slicing motions. Sento redirects its trajectory as it starts to aim for the home invader. Although the sword was able to get a few good slices in, the individual was fast…Too fast…
"What the hell are you doing in my apartment!?!" Johnny growls as he grabs another weapon of his own (it's another knife).
The figure doesn't respond, only growling as it attempts to rush at Johnny and Kenshi. The pair dodge out of the way, both separated on opposite sides of the person.
"Listen, I'm willing to not press charges AND give you the comfiest dirt nap you'll ever experience IF you tell us what you're doing in my place and why you're attacking us!"
"Something tells me they're not here to talk, Johnny," Kenshi replies as he commands Sento to his hand.
"Ok, dirt nap it is then."
The pair rush the intruder, hoping to overwhelm them with their combined might. Johnny's theatrical and dirty fighting tactics with Kenshi's samurai-like skills and roughhousing tricks. Yet, even with their combined might, this individual was swift and able to counter almost all their attacks while also producing devastating blows of their own.
Very quickly, Kenshi caught on that this person possessed some superhuman strength. Every punch sent Kenshi and Johnny flying in some instances during the fight. This intruder also had some cracks in their skin that had a glow to them. Unfortunately, while Sento gave him sight, it didn't provide Kenshi clarity on specific details like colors. Johnny, however, could see that this person had ashen gray skin, much like how a corpse would look, and the supposed "cracks" were actually the outlines of their inner veins, glowing to an unnatural degree.
Another thing too, this guy just would not quit. Their back and forth was eventually tiring Johnny & Kenshi as they missed one too many close calls that would've killed them. But this home invader had stamina for days. Johnny and Kenshi had to resort to going on the defensive as they had to dodge his attacks while waiting for openings.
Johnny is nearly choked out by this creature before grabbing the heated french press on the stove and slamming it against the intruder's head. Granting the actor time to build some distance.
"Kenshi, I'm gonna need you to think of something, and think of it quick because I'm going to be paying for all these expenses that this prick is breaking!" Johnny windily fusses as he lands a one-two punch on the intruder.
"Get him closer to the living room!" Kenshi says as he provides a helpful block for Johnny, using Sento to slash at the intruder before they can land a hit on Johnny.
"What?" Johnny looks at Kenshi confused before taking a punch to the face.
"Just follow my lead!"
Where Johnny's luxurious apartment was located it was built into a tall skyscraper building, and Johnny paid to get a good view of the city he was living in. That meant that his room was exceptionally high up in the building; leading to an estimated 250 ft drop. And Kenshi was getting some sneaking suspicions that this creature could survive all 250 of it.
Kenshi dares to get closer to the intruder, putting all his might into pushing and fighting this man closer to the living room which had an entire glass wall that showcased that good Californian view. Helping him, Johnny also jumped into the fray, along with Sento as they brought him closer to the glass windows. The intruder was able to block their attacks, but he was inching toward the glass, and they finally grabbed at Kenshi's throat in a crushing grip.
"You will join us, Takahashi. Our family will gladly welcome you." The intruder says.
"I'm all for visiting in-laws and relatives, but we're gonna have to decline the invitation to the family barbeque!" Johnny says. And in that same second, he drops it low and hits your man with the most devastating nutcracker they'll ever experience.
The intruder makes an audible moan as they double over, covering their private bits. Seems this was just enough to not only get them winded but grant Kenshi enough time to perform a flying roundhouse kick and send the intruder falling 230 feet back to the lobby.
"Yo, Kenshi! What the hell, man! I didn't think you were going to kill him!?!" Johnny exclaims. "Dude, I live on this floor!?! And it's 10 in the fucking morning! People are going to see, and then the police are going to be called, then what the fuck am I going to do then? I mean, sure, we were fighting in self-defense, I think that guy had the intent to kill us, but I'm a famous star, dickhead! What am I going to tell the press? Fuck, fucking A, I can already see it, 'Johnny Cage: Famous Actor, Director, and Killer?' Fucking fuck, Kenshi!"
Despite Johnny's angry rambles, Kenshi paid him no mind as he carefully leaned out the side of the broken window, trying to get a good view of the intruder and seeing if his prediction was correct.
…The motherfucker got up.
"Johnny, get dressed, we gotta go," Kenshi says in a hurry as he picks up Sento and the sheath it belongs to.
"Wait, what? Were you even hearing me-"
"We don't have time, get dressed!"
"Ok, ok, I am!" Johnny windily says as he rushes to his bedroom. "Fucking hell, what a goddamn mess."
As the pair are leaving the apartment, Johnny is just getting his best shoes tied, hopping on one leg as he tries to follow the hurried Kenshi. "Wait, Kenshi, what the hell is going on. You're doing that 'I know way more than I let on' schtick that you often do. Did you know that guy?"
"I'll explain once we're far from here. Right now, you're about to meet a good friend of mine."

~Wow, this was even longer lmao! I made a second installment! Very excited to keep working on this because we're about to get to the part where Kung Lao returns >:). Had a lot of fun writing Amnesia!Raiden trying to cope with Kung Lao's sudden departure in his life and writing his sister Fuji. BTW, you can check out this post I made of my picrew interpretation of what Raiden's Sister looks like (Fuji - Raiden's Sister). Not too happy with the Johnny & Kenshi scene, but I've been, once again, working all evening and well into the night with this one, so I'm gonna make my peace with it. Hope you guys enjoy it. Can't wait to start writing up the next installment! Pray that I make this one shorter ;A;~

See you drifting past the fog
But no one told you where to go |
- This part of the song could very well be representation of death, more importantly the death of Bi-Han's mother, her presence nothing more but a fading memory and dreams. Bi-Han sees her eveeywhere he looks but her presence does not bring warmth anymore.
| We dive trough crystal waters, perfect oceans
But no one told me not to breathe
And now the weightlessness recedes |
- The start of Bi-Han's training, it seemed picture perfect but the high expectations of his father and the responsibilities of a future Grandmaster weighed heavy on his shoulders and there was no one Bi-Han could confide in, since no one would he sharing his responsibilities.
| My, my those eyes like fire
I'm a winged insect, you're a funeral pyre
Come now, bite trough these wires |
- Bi-Han says in one of his clash intros, that his father was a man of many secrets. Bi-Han knows who he truly was, before Kuai Liang was born and Tomas was brought into the clan. He knows how ruthless he can be towards his own and how he changed when his brothers came into the picture. Bi-Han knows that the man puts on a mask in front of other people to be seen as something he's not.
The last line represents Bi-Han plotting his own father's demise.
| I'm a waking hell and the gods grow tired
Reset my patient violence along both lines of a pathway higher
Grow back your sharpest teeth, you know my desire |
- This could represent Bi-Han and Liu Kang not seeing eye to eye, Liu Kang underutilizing the Lin Kuei and telling them to hold back, always hold back.
Perhaps people knew about his desire to grow the Lin Kuei, evolve with the ever changing world but unless he could convince his brothers, he could not move forward.
| Well yeah, I spit blood when I wake up
Sink porcelain stained, choking up brain matter and makeup
Just two days since the mainframe went down and I'm still messed up
Room feels like a meat freezer, I dangle in it like cold cuts
Missed calls, answered phones from people I just don't trust
Mirror talk, fake love
But I'll take a pound of your flesh
Before you take a piece of my paystub
White roses, black doves, Godmother, rise up
I need you to see me for what I have become |
- Bi-Han's struggle in becoming Grandmaster and the guilt he felt for his father's demise. With his ascension to Grandmaster, there was a certain paranoia that his father's followers would come for him, that they would find out about his plot so he surrounds himself with loyal members, while he tries to convince his brothers to evolve, they grow further and further apart.
| I guess it goes to show, does it not?
That we've no idea what we've got until we lose it
And no amount of love will keep it around
If we don't choose it
And I don't know what's got its teeth in me
But I'm about to bite back in anger
No amount of self-sought fury
Will bring back the glory of innocence |
- The Lin Kuei brothers drifting apart as time goes on, their bond withering. Bi-Han pushes Tomas away when his adopted brother tries to get close, because everyone he knew and loved either died or abandoned him, so Bi-Han isolates himself, lashes out at anyone who tries to get close. He's done making compromises and he'll do whatever it takes to push the Lin Kuei forward.
Nothing More - This is the time
| When did we become these sinking stones?
When did we build this broken home?
Holding each other like ransom notes
Dropping our hearts to grip our brother's throat |
- This focuses on the crumbling relationship of the Lin Kuei brothers, Bi-Han actively trying to convince his brothers to follow him and his vision but since Kuai Liang nor Tomas saw what Bi-Han saw, he's isolating himself from them, lashing out at his own brothers.
| You can't see because you don't know
You're caught below, beneath your own shadow
Stuck inside, half alive
Do you ever stop to ask yourself why?
Close your mind, identify
Do you feel, do you feel?
Do you call this a life?
All you waited for
Drowning just to keep score |
- This could represent perhaps Bi-Han hiding what his own father was doing to him.
Bi-Han didn't understand why his father was so hard on him but lenient on his brothers, later on he would chalk it up to him being future Grandmaster but that wasn't enough.
| We always start with good intentions
But lose ourselves along the way |
- Pretty self explanatory
I'm sorry that I can't write out the rest of the text since I want to work on Jericho, but feel free to add your own and listen to the rest of the second song or look up the lyrics.

Decided to give myself a little art challenge and thats to take a group of three emojis and turn them into original characters!
I don't know if I'll use them for anything important but I love them already!!
So without further ado...
Tumblr media
I will probably make more of them! They just fit on one sheet for the time being!
In the image it shows the emojis used to create them! And under the image I'd give a little talk as to how I came up with their design!
Jun Kang
Tumblr media
Jun Kang was made using ♠🔥🐉, spades have meanings like intellect, death, military etc and I focused on the military aspect! The fire and dragon reminded me of Liu Kang (and even though both King Lao and Liu Kang are related to the great Kung Lao, this is probably only from Liu Kangs side) And maybe he was one of the earlier earthrealmers if Liu Kangs family to use fire powers.
He definitely has a different personality and everything other than some physical similarities to Liu Kang, like same length of hair and the same eyes. Sorta like two sides of a coin, Liu Kang is a monk meanwhile his ancestor Jun Kang is part of ancient China military (war and peace).
♠🔥🐉
Kamille Belanger
Tumblr media
Kamille Belanger was made using 💋🔫✨, the gun reminded me of the Special Forces but not wanting to make a Cassie Cage 2.0, I decided to make her a member of the Black Dragons instead since they also use weapons. I was going for a femme fatale kinda vibe, complete baddie.
She might go heavy with the lip stick and mascara but you won't see if stain her skin as she beats up good guys and finish whatever job the Black Dragons gave her. I decided to make her Canadian and found a list of 100 top names in Quebec in the 90s, found Camille so I just change it to a K (because misspelling is kool beanz) and Belanger sounded cool next to Kamille. Also I gave her sparkle shape earrings! Because of the sparkle emoji!
Seriema
Tumblr media
Seriema was made using 🎶💀🫁, it was a bit challenging thinking of a way to show lungs on the design as lung related stuff came to mind like asthma and lung cancer don't have much of a lookable effect so I decided to make her my first Chaosrealmer and make her have semi translusive semi mutilated skin above the chest up till her nose. Which shows part of her skeletal jaw, teeth, and bone, which helps with the second emoji which is skull.
For music I have her a lyre, it was the first handheld instrument I thought of, but I don't think she knows how to actually play it. Because "that would be a form of control over the instrument and we hate control here in Chaosrealm!" Or something like that. So just random string playing.
Saturn (aka Aragon)
Tumblr media
Saturn was made using 🪐🎶🍇, when it came to him I knew I wanted to implement rings into their design so they were lots of jewelry. I decided to make him sorta a noble of high status in Edenia but is definitely not near prince level of highness, but he sure acts like it. A man that loves to drink wine, party, have luxurious things, and more. He knows he got a pretty face, but that's probably where the admiration for him ends, unless you admire his parties. He is definitely similar to Narcissus but not too into himself that he doesn't feel love for anyone, he'll definitely fall for someone for sure but so far every character I made is single and not too important in the world of Mortal Kombat.
And that's all of them!
I will probably do more, I just ran out of space on this single piece of paper. Suggestions are always welcomed!! If you want a trio of emojis (ex. 🔶🍫❤, ☕⬜🥀, 🤡🎉💥, etc) turned into a Mortal Kombat OC let me know! And if you want to try out this challenge go ahead! Just @ me so I can see your awesome creation!
Have a lovely day! ~💗

The Oncoming Storm Part 14: Devil
Liu Kang x Reader and Kung Lao x Reader (gonna do both, two paths!)
A bit more plot stuff with a bit more fluff and just... Liu Kang. Yes. Thank you guys for reading~~ Next update is saturday. Not sure I can do double update, you will see why on Saturday!!! <3
Part 13 Part 15 Chapter Index
When you opened your eyes next, you were in utter darkness. For a brief second, you panicked that you’d lost your sight or were having a vision but then realized that wasn’t the case. Liu Kang’s arms were wrapped around you with the weight of sleep. You were not blind, but instead tucked under a blanket and buried against his bare chest. Apparently, you had fallen asleep next to each other, laid down, and tangled yourselves together. The blankets were pulled high and you were nearly completely covered. His chin rested against the top of your head and you could feel the calm, slow rising and falling of his chest.
This hadn’t been the first time you’d fallen asleep next to him, not by far, but it was the first time where you’d woken up and found that he was still there. You tugged on the blankets just enough to free your face, careful not to disturb him. You gasped at the cool air of the rest of your room. Liu Kang made everything warm, and you had no idea if it was because of his arcana or if it were just part of your attraction to him. You were grateful that the night had been colder. Liu remained dead asleep with his arms around you, though he shifted his head to the side so you could move a bit more freely.
There was nothing to do but to admire him in the silence of your room. You could see little beyond him and his arms, while slack, were firmly around you. From a glimpse at the window, you thought it was likely still the middle of the night. You were grateful for the moment of peace. Your heart had been so heavy over the past few days that it was a reprieve. The strength of his arms around you and the stillness of the hour were beautiful reminders that things would be okay.
You peered behind you carefully and caught a glimpse of the book and journal neatly resting on top of your desk. This hadn’t been you accidentally falling asleep together. He had, at some point, gotten up, put the books away, and then made the decision to crawl backinto your bed to hold you and rest. You couldn’t say you would have done any differently had the tables been turned, but it was comforting that he had thought to do it.
It still left you wondering what any of it meant, but you decided in that moment, that perhaps you didn’t need to know. Perhaps it would be best to live in the moment and what would be would be.
You decided to try and sleep again but as you closed your eyes, the darkness felt different. In your mind’s eye there stood a man, horned like a demon. His body shifted and changed from monstrous fiery beast and back to a cloaked man. He walked along a path through mountains so tall that they rose above the clouds that gathered about them like the sea. Trees sprouted along his path, growing at odd angles, as if they were gnarled by invisible hands. The creature walked along an ancient path and into a small cavern, hidden beyond a waterfall in the cliffside.
You tried to shake off the dream, but you couldn’t. It wasn’t a dream. You panicked. It was a vision! The creature turned to look you dead in the eye and suddenly your head was screaming in agony. You tried to close your eyes, to escape from the pain and his gaze that gnawed at you, eyes flashing from yellow to red- but there was no escape. You couldn’t control the vision in your head, couldn’t escape it. And the creature knew you were there. He grinned at you and drew closer, sickly hands reaching to grasp you.
Then, in a flash, he was far away, as if he had never looked upon you. He searched the cavern for others, as though what he did there were secret. Then he placed something within the bubbling waters at the center of the cavern. Your head ached again and you caught the hectic, rapid images of dead men in intricate robes. They were too fast to catch or understand.
You tried to scream as the world rushed suddenly around you. It felt as though you were falling from the top of that incredible mountain. When you finally stopped, you were barely aware of your body. Surrounding you was a bright turquoise lake, the water bubbled. It looked fake. Water couldn’t be that color. It was in a crater of some kind and then you knew without having to think further as though the knowledge had been granted to you. A caldera. That seemed right.
A shrine stood in the distance, a Buddhist shrine, you thought. You recognized Japanese kanji on pieces of paper hanging from the roof. The lake was steaming behind you, bubbling, and as you turned back to the shrine, the creature returned to your vision. He walked into the temple. The flowers that grew in pots on the stairs wilted as he passed them. You followed him beyond your will into the shrine. When he turned to face you, the air left your lungs and you struggled to breathe. Pain racked your body. The ringing of a dolorous bell shattered your thoughts and your body crashed into water.
It was blood red and the man stood over the water that drowned you, looking within as if not seeing you. His hand touched the surface and you tried to shut away the image to no avail.
You gasped and choked, and your eyes snapped open. You couldn’t breathe and there was something forceful and heavy pinning your arms and legs into place. It was Liu Kang, and his eyes were wide and full of fear. “Y/N! Y/N! Come back!” He was shaking you, trying to urge you awake. His open shirt was torn at his shoulder, dripping with ink and blood. You realized why you couldn’t breathe and choked on the ink bubbling in your throat. “Y/N?” He caught your eyes, desperately, hands moving to your cheeks at once. “Y/N, are you there?”
“Liu?” You felt the ink drip over your lips, but it choked you. Liu released his grasp on you and helped you move to the side. You coughed and ink poured past your lips and onto the floor. He rubbed your back and helped you clear it from your throat, urging you to breathe slower. Even so, you could feel his hands trembling. Either that or you were shaking so much that you were also shaking him.
He held you as you coughed, soothing you. After you wiped your lips, he helped you sit upright. “Breathe, Y/N.” He pushed your hair back, resting his hand again on your cheek. “Say something, please.” Your head was spinning. You tried to talk but the words didn’t come and you gasped for breath again. Panic. You were having a panic attack.
“I can’t.” You wheezed. Forcefully, but still somehow careful, Liu urged you into his arms, took your hands and then urged them both against his chest. His heart was hammering beneath your fingertips.
“Then breathe with me, Y/N.” His voice was desperate, begging you to try. You took a shaky breath in when he did and though it took a few times and his grip on you was so tight that you couldn’t move much on your own, you managed to finally breathe. The panic that had taken complete control of you melted away slowly.
You were still in your room.
Liu Kang held you, still counting breaths.
You hadn’t gone anywhere. You were safe.
It had been a vision. Nothing more. No one had seen you or taken you or hurt you.
You lifted your head up and Liu relaxed his grip. Then you wrapped your arms around him and buried yourself against his chest. You gripped at the back of his loose shirt and your body was racked with sobs. He held you tight, one arm around your middle, the other hand in your hair as he held you close. He pushed your hair back, examined your face, sighed in relief, and then allowed his hand to brush up and down your back to soothe you. “It’s okay.” He whispered, his voice no longer panicked or shaking.
You fought back the sobs and the tears and managed them away, catching your breath. Certain you could keep your composure you leaned away from his chest. Then you carefully grasped his right arm and marveled at the sleeve, torn, and stained with blood and ink. “It’s fine, Y/N.” He sensed your worry and assured you but it didn’t make you feel any better.
“I attacked you again.”
“You attacked something. Not me. It’s really fine. Just a scrape.” He assured you but he was just like you, diffusing your worry without actual proof. You tugged at the tear and tried to wipe the ink away to find the source of the blood. He grabbed your hand to stop you and pulled it to his chest. His other hand guided your cheek so you would stop staring at his shoulder. “I’m fine. I promise. Trust me.”
You nodded and tried your best not to worry but the guilt still ate you up inside. He wouldn’t lie to you. If he needed attention, he would ask for it. Liu wiped your face, presumably of ink, thumb following over your cheek bone, your jaw, and then beneath the curve of your lower lip.
“I’m sorry.” You managed to say, breath still shaky.
“Don’t be.” He rested his forehead against yours and let out a deep sigh. “We were sleeping and then you were…” He shook his head in disbelief. “Did you see something again?”
“Yeah.” You coughed and tried to relax but it felt impossible. He let go of your hand and rested it against your chest so he could feel your heart beating. You thought that checking your pulse at your throat was probably just as easy but found no reason to object.
“You’re breathing is still funny.”
“Yeah, I panicked. It’ll calm down.” You assured him. That was the last thing you needed, was him to worry about your breathing. “Everything’s still fuzzy.” The ringing in your ears returned and you hung your head and winced. It was painful to focus on what you’d seen and what had happened just before it. “…you stayed?” You weren’t sure why, of all the things that you could ask, that was what you wound up saying. Your thoughts were scattered, fragmented in ways that made it difficult to find clarity. Plus, your mouth seemed to have a way of betraying you lately.
“Yes. You were… at peace and I… then… you woke up and that ink arcana of yours? Well, it’s impressive to say the least.” He rotated his shoulder and you escaped his arms, much to his surprise. He seemed jolted by how quickly you’d done it. Honestly, you were surprised by how fast and steadily you could move too. You retrieved the first aid kit that Chen had sent with you on one of your many trips to the infirmary. “I’m fine, Y/N.”
“I’m sorry, Liu.” You didn’t listen to him that time. Even if it were just a scrape, you would take care of it. He’d spent so much of his time taking care of you, worrying about you, that you would return the favor whether he wanted it or not. You took a seat in front of him. Instead of arguing, he pulled his shirt off and draped it over the side of the bed so that you wouldn’t have to fight with the torn cloth to get to the wound. You cleaned up the ink and were grateful to find that he had been correct. It was just a scrape. You hadn’t thought he’d been lying but you also thought that hadn’t had time to see the true extent of the wound with all the chaos that had come with it. His skin was barely broken but it would likely bruise something fierce by morning. “I’m sorry.” You repeated, guilt dripping from every word.
“Don’t be.” Liu took your hand away from your task. “I’m fine. I’m more worried about you. Are you okay?” He gently tilted your chin from side to side, searching your neck and face for damage. You couldn’t help but smile even if it faltered quickly. He then urged his hand over your side, where he knew you were wounded. “Is that…?” He tugged at the shirt.
“I’m okay, I think. Just freaked out.” You took his hand and held it between both of yours. Liu breathed a sigh of relief. You sat together like that, you holding his hand close to your chest, his other hand resting on your knee.
“What did you see?”
“I… it’s hard to explain. It’s like… something in my head is all jumbled up afterward. Like someone took all my thoughts and shook them up. Nothing makes sense. There was… a man… I think it was a man, at least.”
“The same dark man?”
“No, I’m not even really sure that he was a man. He was also a monster. He was... hiding something, I think? Two things. I saw flashes of faces and… heard this sad… I think it was a bell or a chime. The… the second place was definitely in Japan. I saw writing in a temple there. It’s… god it’s so fuzzy.” You held your head and Liu pushed your hair back.
“A man but also a monster? What kind of monster?”
“I… he had horns? And sometimes his body was… like magma. I’d… I’d use the word demon. Does that seem silly?”
“Nothing seems silly to me anymore.” Liu turned to the mess of ink on your sheets and blankets then leaned his head back with a heavy sigh. “We should talk to Raiden.”
“It’s the middle of the night. We’ll disturb him again.”
“I know. We should though, shouldn’t we?”
“Time won’t change what I saw. It never did. I…” You furrowed your brow. “I think we should wait until morning. I’m exhausted. I don’t think I can walk there.”
“Okay.” You were surprised that he’d agreed with you since the last time you had a vision, he had nearly dragged you to the infirmary. This time he had been far easier to convince. You imagine this had been exhausting for him too. “You’re right. There’s no need to panic anyone. It doesn’t seem like a warning of imminent danger. We can tell him in the morning.” You had caused a fuss last time for nothing. Raiden had sent you away. You still hadn’t met with him to properly go over what you’d seen before, so urgency seemed like a wasted effort.
“Thank you.” You gave him a tired smile. He looked uneasy still, not taking his eyes away from you, as if afraid that you would disappear if he did. “This is a mess.” You touched your sheets. It could have been worse, all things considered. Still, it would be difficult to sleep with ink everywhere.
“Easily fixed, Y/N. Don’t worry.” He urged you to stand up and then helped you take a seat in the desk chair. Then he gathered the blankets and sheets off your bed, balled them up and tossed them to the side on the floor. He didn’t let you help even when you tried to get up. In fact, he’d urged you to sit back down, placed his hands on the arms of the chair, had given you a stern look, and then set back about his task. “We’ll deal with those later.”
You didn’t argue with him. He left the room and you took the opportunity to get changed. You were drenched in ink and sweat. One of the dressing gowns would do for the rest of the night. You wiped your face clean on the discarded sheets. Liu returned seconds later, and you took the sheets from him and set about making the bed. He watched you but when you turned back to catch his gaze, he moved instead to help you finish tucking them in. Then he sat down on the edge of the bed and took your hand, urging you to join him.
You sat in exhausted silence for a long while. You shivered. Your body kept going from hot to cold and you hated it. A fever, most likely. This was all too familiar, so similar to how you had been as a child. It made you feel helpless. But Liu had been right. You weren’t a kid anymore. You had spent years working to become strong. You could handle this.
“Thank you, Liu.” You turned to him and he bowed his head politely, slipping his shirt back on over his shoulders though it looked uncomfortably crusted over with ink.
“I’m glad that I was here.” He clasped his hands together and rested his elbows against his knees. “Do you think that you’ll be able to rest after that?”
“I… honestly? I could pass out right now. I’m beat. But also, I’m afraid to sleep.” This was the second time that you’d had a vision in a handful of days and both had happened when you had been barely on the brink of sleep.
“I can’t rightly blame you. I imagine rest is the most important thing for you to do to recover. Whatever shadow comes with this gift, Y/N, it weighs on you. Even now you are pale and breathing funny.” You nodded. There was no arguing with the truth.
“I know. It’s hard. I slip from sleep to… terrifying vision so quickly, it’s… jolting.” You furrowed your brow. “You need rest too, Liu. I beat you up again.”
“You tried to beat me up.” He offed you a nudge of his elbow and you smiled. “I’m fine.” He ran his fingers through his messy hair, lost in a war in his head that you could only guess at. “I should probably go.”
“I…” You hesitated and you caught his smile and turned your gaze. You meant to say that he probably should have, that you were afraid to be alone, that you had stolen enough of his time that night, but none of those came out. Just a stuttering mess of nothing. “Well…” You drifted off. You didn’t want him to leave. He’d been there to protect you both times now. What would have happened if he hadn’tbeen there to wake you up? The ink had almost drowned you! Besides, it had been a huge comfort to be held after it had happened. Even if it made things complicated, his arms were strong and comforting. You longed for them to be around you again. You felt very selfish to think so fondly of it. Even the stifling warmth that you’d woken up to under the covers had been absolutely wonderful.
“I could stay.” He averted his eyes but the smile he tried to hide was hilariously obvious. You wound up doing the same and turned your gaze. “Then I can make sure you get to Raiden first thing in the morning.”
“Are you sure? Don’t you want to rest in the peace and comfort of your own bed? Not covered in ink? Knowing that I can’t possibly attack you when you’re that far away?” You offered him a way out. He was worried about you, that was clear, but he didn’t need to lose sleep over you. He pulled his shirt off and draped it over the back of your desk chair with a lazy throw.
“There. Not covered so much in ink anymore. I’ll sleep like this.”
You nodded but looked anywhere but at him because looking at him had consequences. Guilt. Attraction. Admiration. In all honesty, you were so exhausted that you didn’t have the energy for that conflict. If Liu Kang wanted to wrap his big strong arms around you and hold you while you slept, half naked, then you were going to let him do it, damnit. You wouldn’t fight it. Not right now. Besides, you wanted to be held. Even as you came to terms with that very silly urge, you could see the man with the horns like a demon, his eyes flashing and burning into you.
What did any of it mean? You held your head in your hands and rested your elbows on your knees. Liu pushed your hair away from your face, watching you with those dark concerned eyes. He looked as exhausted as you felt. God, he was bruised all to hell. Your eyes lingered on the darkness on his stomach. It was all because of you. Why couldn’t your arcana have helped you that much when you’d tried to summon it against Kung Lao that afternoon? Kung Lao had earned a bruise or two. Liu Kang hadn’t. You laid back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. Liu laid next to you and did the same, shoulder brushing just against yours. It felt suddenly very funny to fall asleep purposely next to him and you laughed in disbelief. It also felt pretty nice.
“What’s so funny?”
“Nothing feels real.” You turned to find him watching you already. He picked up your hand at your side and laced his fingers with yours, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
“It’ll be okay.”
“Yeah.” You weren’t sure that was true, but there was no point in being morose.
You let go of his hand, rolled away from him onto the side that wasn’t pained and stared out into your room. Your floor was stained with ink. From there you could just see the outline of the flower that Kung Lao had given you in front of the books that Liu had put away. You closed your eyes and felt Liu shifting behind you. His arms then slipped around your middle and tugged you closer to him, so that your back was pressed against his chest. His hands were warm and comforting, settling against you once he’d pulled the new blankets around you.
Your stomach was twisted into knots again for a thousand different reasons. Liu’s lips rested against your shoulder, his breath warming your skin. You got goosebumps; you couldn’t help it. His hand rested flat against your stomach, the other beneath you. “Please promise me that you’ll wake me if you need me.” He turned to whisper in your ear.
“I will.” You managed to fight against every instinct in your body so you could reply. His lips lingered close to your ear, his messy hair tickling at the side of your neck and sending shivers down your spine. He lingered before allowing his lips to plant a soft kiss on your shoulder.
“Good.” He leaned back and rested his head against your pillows and you laid, staring ahead of you for some time. Your stomach was too twisted into knots for sleep and your nerves were completely shot. But Liu Kang’s soft, soothing breathing as he drifted to sleep gave you some peace. His grip went slack on you but his arms remained around you. You fought sleep for some time, afraid of what vision would await you. More visions didn’t come, but sleep did.

“death cannot stop true love. all it can do is delay it for a while” with kung lao?
Tumblr media
(Yes. Absolutely. I’m so sorry it took this long. But a lot of things came up.)
Losing the love of your life was like losing your soul. Your whole life came undone, pulled out from beneath you like a rug.
Eyes overflowing you desperately tried to grasp what Raiden was telling you. His words didn’t seem to fully register with you as your heart was wrenched from your chest.
Kung Lao was dead, your husband, the father of the child still growing inside you, he was never coming back. Even though he’d been a monk an exception was made for the two of you. He was your soulmate after all so it was immoral to keep the two of you from being together. Raiden had vouched for the two of you and soon after you were married.
It felt like a lifetime ago even if it’s only been a year. Your first anniversary was in a week but now you would never get a chance to celebrate it.
You lost your drive to do many things.
You did pray. It was one thing you did constantly, praying to the elder gods to give you back the love of your life.
Raiden stopped by a lot to check in on you. Even if he was busy he found the time. You were having tea with him at his temple, the air was warm and still, but most of all it was quiet.
“They do hear you. I think it is only fair that I tell you that they have heard you in this time of strife. They grieve for you and your loss, but there is an order to everything and they cannot give him back to you.”
You sipped your tea, tears pouring down your cheeks. Sometimes they simply began and didn’t stop for hours till you were cried out.
“I know. I know I cannot have him back, but I feel like I have to at least try. I miss him more and more every minute he’s gone.”
Raiden felt his chest tighten not only at the sight of your tears but at your words as well. He missed his student more than he could say and you were very dear to him as well. Not only as a human, someone he was meant to protect, but also as a friend. You were kind and good, you did not deserve this pain. The lord of thunder felt he had failed both you and Kung Lao.
Shortly after Liu Kang joined you both and you made light talk about general things, the weather, his training, your friends and plans for the future.
The future. Without him it didn’t feel like a future at all. You hand ran over the swell of your belly and Liu Kang’s eyes became sad. As arrogant and prideful as his friend had been he still would have been a wonderful father. Of that he had no doubts. It was something he would never get to witness.
Raiden dropped you off at home, giving you a reassuring hug. He wasn’t the most touchy feely person but his hugs did make you feel safe and loved. He was like a second father to you, making sure that everything was well and that you were taking care of yourself. You likely would be an even bigger mess without him. When he left you were alone again. Left to your own devices you decided to have a bath and some cake and call it an early night.
It was over a month now. You were showing even more than before, a noticeable waddle now a natural part of your gate.
You were getting frequent calls from your friends and family. Kung Lao's family had even offered to let you stay with them, but you didn’t want to be a burden to them. However you did ask for any little items he might have owned. Being a monk meant he didn’t have much, but there were a few bits and pieces he’d left behind.
The month you had lived was agony and the dull ache in your chest had not yet left you. You had been sleeping with one of his old shirts as a pillow case. His smell had faded but the fabric still brought you comfort. A comfort that was fleeting as it became apparent that you’d never have him beside you again.
The netherrealm was anything but comfortable.
It was full of the dead and evils of the world. Not the most ideal place to set up shop. But for a revenant it was really the only option.
Kung Lao hated it here. He wanted to be with you and your child, he missed you so badly. His memories of your smile and laugh were his only saving graces in this hellscape. Time was different here too, he wondered if you’d given birth yet, if you were holding his son or daughter and telling them about him. He wanted to see if you were well, to see if his baby was well. He loved them more than he could say and he’d not even met them in person yet. Lao did not want to be here, he wanted to tell you he loved you and tell your child that he loved them as well. If he could get out of here he could do just that. But he needed to escape first. He knew Raiden could fix this if he tried. He could return Lao to life and back to normal. The magic that kept him from you was reversible. He just had to find a way out. Then he could hold you in his arms and kiss you. His love, the light of his life, his everything, his wife. He never dreamed he would be able to have a lover let alone a wife. But then you came along and flipped his world upside down in the best way possible.
Could think of one thing but it was risky. As mad as he was at Raiden for letting him rot down here, maybe there was still a way for the guardian to help him.
Kung Lao sat and bowed his head in silent prayer. He hadn’t focused this hard on prayer in a very long time but he needed it to get through. He prayed to every being he could think of and whoever answered first is who’s help he’d take. It didn’t matter to him. As long as he could be with you. Death would not keep him any longer.
It was the middle of the night, dark and peaceful as the rain pelted your windows, falling in sheets that soaked everything.
The worn fabric of your husband’s shirt pressed against your cheek as you watch the water falling down the panes of glass. Your tummy wedge was tucked snuggly under your bump, it was hard to lay down without it now. The little one was restless, moving this way and that, you couldn’t sleep because the tiny boy inside you had decided already that anything to do with kicking was going to be his favorite style. More than once you’d made a mad dash to the bathroom to stop from peeing yourself. You couldn’t be mad though this little person was what had kept you going these past weeks. So lonely and depressed that most of the time you didn’t want to get up. But you had to eat, you had to drink water, you had to be clean and healthy for the little human you loved so much. There were times that thinking about how you would be holding him soon was nearly enough to vanquish the darkness from your mind and heart.
However the darkness would always find its way back into you like a serpent gliding over the slowly crumbling walls into a sunlite garden to hide in the beautiful plants. Striking when least expected even if you knew it was there.
Your eyes became heavy, drooping and ready to fall asleep. A shadow slipped quickly and silently past your window. Someone was outside your house, it was storming but someone was out and about in the rain. This wouldn’t have been too big of a deal if you lived closer to other people, but your little home was mildly isolated.
You were not as quick as you’d have liked to have been as you rolled out of bed in a panic.
You were beyond spooked. You were terrified. The closet had a little crawlspace in which you could hide. You grabbed your phone from the end table and tried as hard as you could to be quiet getting in. You heard the front door open as you got to the closet. Hadn’t you locked it?
You didn’t know who was there or why but your safest bet was to hide and wait it out.
The house was quiet, even for this time of night. The front door had been locked but the stone turtle that hid the spare key had not been moved from it’s spot in the front garden.
The revenant moved through the living room till he reached the halfway to the back of the house. There was no sound but the rain and it was unnerving. He knew you were here though, where else would you be?
He stopped in the nursery, the crib was empty and the night light was unplugged. His heart sank. The whole house was so awfully still it began to scare Kung lao.
The bedroom was the next room over, the carpet masked any sounds his feet might have made. He missed the feeling of something plush underfoot.
When he arrived in the room the bed was empty, the covers were pulled back and unmade. He frowned and placed his hand against the mattress. Still warm.
You were here, you must be hiding, he must have scared you without realizing. He felt foolish and his hope that the deal he’d made to come back to you would be for not.
His eyes caught his reflection in the full length mirror on the wall by the closet. He was a ghastly sight, his gray skin, once smooth was now cracked and his eye once full of life now glowed eerily. He feared you’d want nothing to do with him the moment you saw.
A soft shuffle drew his eyes away from the horror that stood before him. It came from the closet.
He pulled the door open, his movements slow and gentle in case you were in there.
The door to the crawlspace was ajar and he knew that it had to be where you were hiding.
Though it saddened him to think that you were hiding from him it made sense.
Kneeling next to the entrance to the tiny storage room, his knees crushing shoes that he didn’t take the time to move, Lao cleared his throat and heard a soft distressed sound.
As quietly and as sweetly as he could he called for you.
The room seemed even more silent than before. Anticipation hung heavily in the air as the tiny door creaked open slowly. One wide eye peeked out disbelieving at the sight of your dead love in the closet.
“LAO!” The door burst open and your form crashed into him sending you both tumbling out of the closet and onto the bedroom floor. Your stomach made hugging him a little difficult but it did not stop your lips from finding his the moment he landed on his back.
You peppered his mouth, cheeks and nose with kisses, barely managing to get out a coherent sentence instead simply conveying your overwhelming joy in tears and a barrage of affection.
“H-how? Kung Lao, I thought I’d lost you forever. How did you come back?”
He cupped your cheeks in his hands, enjoying the warmth that he felt from your skin in his cool palms.
“Cetrion. She told me that if I came back and you would accept me then I could stay. That I could have life again.”
“Of course I’ll have you back. I’ll never turn you away, how could I? I thought that we would never be able to be with you and it nearly killed me.’ You placed your hand and his on your large baby bump. “I was so afraid I’d have to live my life without having my true love to share it with.”
Kung lao kissed you sweetly and held you in his arms.
“Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while.”
Once you were both able to pull yourselves apart long enough to stand he guided you to the bed and helped you back into it. The rain was softly tapping on the glass of the window, now much lighter than it was before.
Kung Lao was able to rest with you again, he was able to sleep. But he didn’t need to, his dream already came true. He was with you again.

Mortal Kombat: 15 Most Powerful Characters
https://ift.tt/2RLKtZ8
At the end of the day, Mortal Kombat is about a bunch of characters beating the crap out of each other for supremacy. Sure, they toss in stories about tournaments to protect Earth and wars against invading realms, but it all boils down to martial artists brutally punching the hell out of each other until one explodes into a pile of viscera and five ribcages.
Being a fighting game, you expect all the fighters to be on the same level. Even forgettable losers like Hsu Hao and Kai should stand a chance against gods and otherworldly overlords. A nigh-invincible megalomaniac villain can lose to one of their bumbling underlings just as easily as they can lose to the game’s main hero. At least, that’s ideally how fighting games should be balanced.
Storywise, it’s different. Certain characters are straight-up in their own leagues compared to others. Does Jarek really stand a chance against Shinnok? Would Li Mei last five seconds against Blaze? Does Kobra have what it takes to take down Raiden? Not on paper, no.
So here’s a list of the top 15 most powerful characters in the Mortal Kombat series. With this list, there are two main rules:
1) I’m going with the characters at their most powerful, not how powerful they are most of the time.
2) I’m going with the canon storyline. Otherwise, the list would just be made up of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon endings. No DC Universe crossover stuff and no guest characters in general. Sorry, Spawn.
Now let’s see who has the most juice in all the realms.
15. GERAS
This guy is so frightening that his power is more of a curse than a blessing. Geras has near endless experience, having lived through countless timelines over and over again, and is skilled enough to fight off Liu Kang and Kung Lao at the same time. He is also be completely unkillable, as his mastery over time reversal will undo whatever wounds befall him. Granted, Shao Kahn beat him into a blob of red pulp and Geras hasn’t been heard from since, but I’m sure he’ll be back to his old self soon enough.
The rough truth regarding Geras is that being unkillable doesn’t mean he’s unstoppable. In the initial Mortal Kombat 11 timeline, Raiden knocked Geras into an endless ocean of blood in which where Geras was doomed to sink for eternity. Yeah, I’ll be fine over here with my mortality.
14. SINDEL
In the early days, Sindel didn’t seem so tough. She was just a plot device in desperate need of pants. Then Mortal Kombat 9 happened and we got that scene where Shao Kahn empowered her with Shang Tsung’s soul and set her loose. Suddenly, Sindel turned into an Edenian John Cena and cut through most of the heroes like a hot knife through butter. Sub-Zero, Jax, Smoke, Kabal, Stryker, Jade, and Kitana all died by her hand in mere moments while Nightwolf had to sacrifice himself to take her off the board.
This is why Shang Tsung aimed to resurrect her in Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath. Who else was going to help him get past Cetrion? And while Sindel did win one-on-one against Cetrion, the scene itself looked more like she stunned Cetrion enough for Fujin and Shang Tsung to capitalize and put her on the shelf. Had they not been there, I feel like Sindel would have eventually been overwhelmed. At least, that’s my interpretation.
13. CETRION
Cetrion is Mother Nature. That alone tells you what you need to know. Shinnok’s virtuous (yet still kind of evil) sister would be considered his equal if only she had a final form like him. Regardless, Cetrion is such a threat that Jax and Jacqui Briggs can only stand up to her for a limited time by wearing Kronika’s crown at a detriment to their own health. She also wiped out the rest of the Elder Gods, although that happened completely off-screen.
12. SHINNOK
Here we have Mortal Kombat’s version of Satan. Shao Kahn would later talk shit about Shinnok’s fighting skills, but he’s an Elder God and rules this reality’s version of Hell. He’s an absolute heavy hitter.
He also looks like a total dork when he’s in his base form, but thankfully his Corrupted Shinnok form makes up for that. Corrupted Shinnok is no joke, especially in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero, where you’re better off cheesing it back to Earthrealm than fighting him head-on.
11. RAIDEN
Raiden was the guy so jacked up that they had to make up a reason for why he couldn’t take part in the first couple games’ tournaments. He was just there to give advice and moral support. What else would you expect from a god among men? He also thwarted Shinnok back in the day to save Earthrealm, meaning he was already a major piece of work by the start of the first game.
Raiden’s apex form is triggered whenever he wields Shinnok’s amulet. It doesn’t make him unbeatable, but it does put an extra pep in his step. The drawback is that it turns his eyes red and he becomes a total dick. Still a step up from him constantly tripping over his own feet on his way to consult the Elder Gods.
10. CASSIE CAGE
Cassie’s is one of the most powerful Mortal Kombat characters but there’s an asterisk. Seemingly more competent and driven than her father, Cassie is so skilled at using her green glow to the point that she was able to defeat Corrupted Shinnok. That’s because the Cage bloodline was bred and trained for the sole purpose of creating mortals who could slay gods. Her DNA is like kryptonite to the likes of Shinnok.
She does have some other impressive wins, like taking down revenant versions of Sindel and Liu Kang. Her Mortal Kombat X ending (which isn’t explicitly canon, but I have no reason to think it isn’t) has her kill Shujinko. Many fans consider that to be a bit on the bullshit side, but this Shujinko would have been 20 years older than the one from the previous continuity and wouldn’t have been powered up by the events of Mortal Kombat: Deception, so it’s not a big stretch (or a big enough deal) that Cassie could take out a martial artist Mr. Burns.
9. QUAN CHI
This sorcerer doesn’t have the raw power of the other main villains, and he gets completely clowned in Mortal Kombat X, but he is smart and sneaky enough to get what he wants most of the time. While overshadowed by Onaga, you also can’t forget that in the conclusion of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Quan Chi and Shang Tsung took down a handful of Earthrealm’s strongest warriors, defeated Raiden, then turned on each other with Quan claiming ultimate victory.
Various endings show that while he is working under Shinnok, he has the means to overthrow him if need be. This is especially apparent in Mortal Kombat 9, where Quan Chi has the rights to use necromancy on all of those slain during Shao Kahn’s invasion. He has a whole army of revenants at his disposal, and there are some serious heavy hitters mixed in there.
8. ONAGA
The Dragon King’s introduction came with so much hype that you could almost hear the other characters soil themselves in unison when he stomped onto the scene. On his own, Onaga was a wrecking machine, but in Mortal Kombat: Deception, he had the Kamidogu pieces, which made him completely unstoppable. Unstoppable enough that he shrugged off attacks from the united forces of Raiden, Shang Tsung, and Quan Chi. Add to that his ability to resurrect the dead and mind-control them and you had the ultimate threat.
EXCEPT…those Kamidogu pieces weren’t exactly unbreakable. I don’t know how hard those things are supposed to be, but in-game they would shatter just by walking into them. Either way, Shujinko was able to shatter them all himself and that depleted Onaga’s power enough to to end him. Being a reptilian juggernaut means only so much when you have such an overt off switch.
7. SHUJINKO
The most gullible hero of the Mortal Kombat franchise spent his entire life questing and fighting for what ended up being Onaga’s resurrection. In return, Onaga blessed him with Taskmaster powers. Shujinko can copy fighting styles from other warriors and has been doing so for decades.
That ended up being Onaga’s undoing, as Shujinko absorbed the abilities and fighting skills of just about every playable character in Mortal Kombat: Deception. After shattering the Kamidogu artifacts and removing Onaga’s invulnerability, Shujinko had no problem thrashing him. While experience was his ultimate weapon, the only thing really weighing him down was his aging and human mortality.
6. BLAZE
Blaze, by design, is a top tier beast. He’s the final boss in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, a game that brings back every Mortal Kombat character in one massive roster. When guys like Onaga and Goro are playable and they’re working their way up to take on Blaze, it really says something about what this guy’s about. Not to mention he’s the catalyst for ultimate power, turning whoever can slay him into an enhanced, godly version of his or herself.

Mortal Kombat: Why the Movie Created New Main Character Cole Young
By Gene Ching
While it seemed at first that new hero character Taven would be the one to end Blaze, Taven was instead slayed and the real winner was Shao Kahn. Unfortunately, this is where things get a little hairy because we don’t know if Kahn would have truly been able to defeat Blaze one-on-one or if, say, Taven wounded Blaze and Kahn took advantage. Either way, it looks like Blaze straight-up took the L and wasn’t the be-all/end-all after all.
5. SHAO KAHN
Shao Kahn has always been the go-to villain of Mortal Kombat, and as the recurring villain, he’s taken his lumps. He’s suffered defeats at the hands of Liu Kang, Raiden, and Kitana. When he took over Outworld, he killed Onaga by poisoning him because battle was too risky. So yes, Base Shao Kahn may be tougher than most, but he’s not invincible.
But then you have Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, which was Kahn’s real showcase. After dominating the free-for-all, Kahn was grabbed and taken away by Onaga. As foreboding as that would seem for Kahn, he not only bounded back from that, but he also ended up being the last man standing after slaying Blaze. That enhanced Shao Kahn’s strength even more and turned him into a multiversal threat, thwarted only because of Raiden’s desperate use of time travel.
4. KRONIKA
After years of telling us that Elder Gods were the ultimate beings, NetherRealm decided to reveal another tier of beings called Titans who rank even higher. So far we only know Kronika, the Keeper of Time, who is so overpowered that nearly everyone on the roster should have absolutely zero shot against her. She controls time like it’s nothing. Overcoming that isn’t like dodging a fireball.
Thankfully, Kronika has one major weakness: while she can rewrite history, she can’t omit the gods. She can’t create a world without Raiden. Raiden still can’t beat her one-on-one, but it’s through that loophole that Kronika ultimately meets her downfall.
2. LIU KANG (TIE)
The series’ initial protagonist was always fighting above his weight class. He spent the first four games taking down Goro, Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, and Shinnok. His canon deaths came in the form of an ambush perpetrated by Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, and later an accidental frying from Raiden’s hand. In fact, he spent multiple continuities clashing with Raiden.
That was nothing compared to what he became at the end of Mortal Kombat 11. Two Liu Kangs from different parts of history merged together into one being, with Raiden handing over his godly power, giving us an incarnation of Liu Kang that was not only a god but had control over both electricity and fire. This was the upgrade needed to destroy Kronika and put Liu Kang in control of time itself.
2. SHANG TSUNG (TIE)
As it turned out, Fire God Liu Kang wasn’t equipped to wield Kronika’s magical hourglass for long without her crown, or else time would eventually collapse. Shang Tsung popped in to explain all this, making it clear that he was reality’s only choice. Liu Kang and Fujin realized that they had to give into Shang’s obvious trickery to save everyone.
By the end of his adventure, Shang Tsung had re-killed Kronika and wore her crown while empowered by the souls of Kronika, Raiden, Fujin, Shao Kahn, and Sindel.
Then Fire God Liu Kang popped in to take over. The two rivals faced off and the player was given the choice of which character they wanted to play as. As it is right now, we don’t know who won the epic battle in official canon, so consider Liu Kang and Shang Tsung to be tied until further notice.
1. THE ONE BEING
The most powerful being in Mortal Kombat is not playable in any of the games, nor has it appeared as a boss. In fact, the One Being is presumably too powerful to be portrayed in humanoid form at all. It’s the Galactus of the Mortal Kombat universe, though honestly even more threatening.
The One Being existed at the beginning of time, along with the Elder Gods, and initially fed off of them. The Elder Gods struck back and were able to break the One Being apart into the various realms. If the realms were to be merged back together, it would awaken the One Being once more and destroy all of existence. Despite their desire to be top dog, guys like Shao Kahn, Onaga, Shinnok, and Shang Tsung are unknowingly being influenced by this ominous force.

@heamatic’s Raiden gets Fujin, a test-muse.
Tumblr media
▬▬ι═══════ﺤ 🌪️ || There is no longer emptiness where they used to be; attached, vein to vein, no longer severed. Now, the tumultuously precarious world just tumbles through thickets and brambles and icy seas, for Kronika’s cleaved, shattered fragments had warped into dead space, a force greater than a black hole and erased from the history. Even the Titan’s unparalleled might could be left floating in the darkness, a mere stardust in the wind. How such mellifluous words had tainted and corrupted even the strongest and the resilient warriors of the Earthrealm; but such sentiments could serve as fragile weakness. Fujin regards such pain a higher purpose, and that somehow - in some way - they will end up happier than they have ever been, even if that means they are further scarred both physically and emotionally. For humans both taught and smothered the demigod in love when he did not think he was deserving so, although fate launched him to appreciate the strewn puzzle pieces that seem entirely familiar.
Perhaps eons ago, he was just a mortal human, going about his life as another one of those hardened warriors who would have bled to protect the weak and vulnerable. As ruinous and unpredictable the world had been, if his destiny was written long before his ascension. as the crushing whirlwind imbued with his entangled veins, before the tailwind carried him forth. Steel-boned and iron-blooded, but wearing magnanimous cleansing wind in his clouded eyes, no longer, Fujin would struggle with the chest full of unrest and turmoil, guilt-ridden as he’d finally step out from the void, as a soft sigh fills his bring like a cold wind. While perpetuated list of words dance at his disposal, the Wind God is wordless, perhaps speechless in Raiden’s sacrifice. No longer, the seas and oceans would bellow beneath their shared might, nor the manifestations of evil befall like crumbling dilapidated walls before loads of guttural outcry would come in violent spurts, rendering them split and ravaged, paralyzed and shred open as even the iron-hide of Oni would shred like fragile meat, sprawled meat piling up as they will become transparent and butchered.
“No longer, we may dance together under the light of the setting sun, brother. No longer I will be able to sugar-spun clouds whirled together as your streaking lightning echo through the valley of the Earthrealm below,” there is no disappointment etched behind Fujin’s tenor, but a simple acknowledgement. A strange unease settles in Fujin’s guts, whirling like torrential maelstrom. In that moment, he also comes to a stark realization that he is the only demigod left on earth, along with the Fire God Liu Kang; but his duty will be to construct a peaceful path through the Hourglass, for sculpting the sands of time required utmost concentration and perpetuity of time. Fujin will become the sole ascended being that would guard the Earthrealm’s sustenance and serenity. How perilous the word it could be, how burdensome, for the responsibility would sit heavy like Atlas upon his hardened, sculpted shoulders.
“How my soul weighs with barbed wire of guilt and how my soul tangles beneath it. I had longed, attempted to even rip myself apart in an attempt to escape the Void; in violence and viscerality. I knew it would be foolish, but I was too desensitized as to why I was destroying myself, but I know the reason now. I wanted to aid you, brother, with the best of my abilities, without ever failing you or the Earthrealm.” ▬▬ι═══════ﺤ 🌪️ ||

In celebration of the recent release of the Shang Tsung trailer for Mortal Kombat 11, I thought it would be nice to take a look at one of the original members of the Mortal Kombat cast.
Lord Raiden is one of the original seven playable characters upon the game’s 1992 release and has appeared in twelve Mortal Kombat games so far, surpassed in appearances only by Sub-Zero. Raiden is the God of Thunder and the protector of Earthrealm, and while his immortality often gives him a broader perspective on events, he is more down to earth and connected to the humans he protects than other gods. Obviously, given his god status, he is capable of different god-like abilities, including the ability to control lightning, fly, and teleport.
In the original timeline, Raiden defeated the Elder God Shinnok with the help of the other Elder Gods, and banished him to the Netherrealm, securing his amulet in a Temple of the Elements. The older Sub-Zero ended up stealing it from him, but Raiden caught up to him and ordered him to steal him back. Unfortunately, the amulet he stole back was a fake, and the sorcerer Quan Chi kept the original.
Raiden participated in the tournament in the first Mortal Kombat in human form, and remained watchful during the events of Mortal Kombat 2. Putting together the pieces of Shao Kahn’s plan, he warned the two Shaolin participants - Liu Kang and Kung Lao - of the Kahn’s plan to claim every soul on Earth as his own. Raiden protected the Shaolin and other warriors from Earthrealm and even sacrificed his own immortality to stop Shao Kahn.
During the events of Mortal Kombat 4, Raiden’s allies were successful against Quan Chi, and as reward Raiden was granted the status of Elder God and turned over protection of Earthrealm to his brother, Fujin, the God of Wind.
Upon Liu Kang’s death in the beginning of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Raiden was incensed at the lack of action from the other Elder Gods, and he gave up his position to fight back against the combined forces of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. However, the bigger enemy of Onaga the Dragon King became apparent and he momentarily allied with the two sorcerers in order to defeat their shared enemy.
In Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, Raiden hunts down Taven, the game’s protagonist, as part of a deal so that Shao Kahn would leave Earthrealm alone. He is unsuccessful and Taven escapes him, leaving him to fight Shao Kahn later. The Kahn is victorious, but Raiden manages to send a message through time to his past self before his defeat.
The beginning of the rebooted Mortal Kombat game is set directly in the aftermath of Armageddon, and Raiden uses the knowledge sent to him by his future self to try to avert the disaster. While he is ultimately successful, it is with a heavy price, as most of the Earthrealm defenders are dead.
In the opening of Mortal Kombat X, Raiden fights alongside his brother, Fujin, against a horde of demons controlled by Quan Chi. With the help of Johnny Cage, they manage to defeat Shinnok and lock the Elder God within his amulet, and after their defeat of Quan Chi, they are able to restore several of the revenant version of the Earthrealm defenders to their normal, human state. Years later, Quan Chi’s plotting leads D’Vorah to steal Shinnok’s amulet and the sorcerer is able to release the Elder God. Raiden defends the Earth’s Jinsei Chamber, but is held there by Shinnok, badly injured, until Johnny’s daughter, Cassie Cage, defeats the Elder God.
At the beginning of Mortal Kombat 11, as seen in the epilogue of X, Raiden has taken on a darker form, seemingly unwilling to keep a passive stance regarding Earthrealm’s enemies. He keeps his promise in 11, leading an assault against the Neatherrealm. This leads to the death of Sonya Blade, Johnny’s wife and Cassie’s mother. Dark Raiden doesn’t stick around for too much longer, however, as Shinnok’s mother, Kronika, the Keeper of Time - angered by her son’s defeat and treatment after said defeat - shifts the sands of time and brings back younger combatants from the tournament into the modern timeline, including a younger, uncorrupted Raiden. Since Raiden is a god and not mortal, however, he cannot exist in two different timelines in this way, and so Dark Raiden turns to dust in favour of the younger Raiden staying. After he is caught up with everything that has happened, Raiden leads the Earthrealm forces against Kronika and her allies, but setbacks make him consider using Shinnok’s amulet. Liu Kang in particular stands up to Raiden and what he sees as a misuse of his power, and in fighting each other, Raiden gets a glimpse of each and every timeline, and every time, no matter what happens, he and Liu Kang end up fighting each other … to the detriment of all. He realises the importance of their alliance too late as Kronika appears and takes Liu Kang with her to her fortress. In Earthrealm’s assault on Kronika’s Keep, the evil revenant version of Liu Kang attempts to stop them, however Raiden is able to cleanse him and merge them both, creating Fire God Liu Kang, who is able to defeat Kronika and take over the sands as the new Keeper of Time.
Interesting to note, during both the original timeline and the rebooted timeline, he becomes corrupted and takes on the form of Dark Raiden, his characteristic blue eyes turning red. In the original timeline, this was due to Onaga’s aura tainting him during Deadly Alliance, and in the reboot he was negatively affected by Shinnok’s Amulet and his corruption of earth’s Jinsei. Although neither form sticks around too long, it’s interesting that in this form - while he is obviously much more inclined to ethically dubious acts - the protection of Earthrealm is still his top priority. So even in his dark form, he still strives to protect Earth, even if his tactics are more underhanded and brutal compared to his normal form.
His most recent appearance in Mortal Kombat 11 also raises some questions about his future in the franchise, since merging himself with Liu Kang has made his human form mortal. But there’s always another big baddie on their way to threaten Earthrealm, and so long as Raiden lives, he’ll defend the Earth and everyone in it. We can all sleep a little easier knowing that he’s keeping watch.

17M/F with Revenant Jade and Revenant Kung Lao?
He is a Sinful Monk.
SEND ME A NUMBER AND MUSES AND I’LL WRITE A STARTER WHAT IS BASED OFF THE IMAGE!
Tumblr media
Mere hours had passed after a successful invasion to gain future allies against Raiden and his forces. The former monk had been quietly sharpening his hat and taking his deserved rest within a semi empty room. His private quarters may be waiting for him, but the sounds of sex from down the hall were as well. Liu Kang and Kitana, the emperor and empress of this dark and scorching hell hole, have been “celebrating”, as he has been calling it, for those mere hours, to the point of annoyance for the hubristic executioner; he can only take so much noise from them.
The room he settled in was down a dead end hallway, and though it was quite neat and clean, it was away from the carnal action taking place near his own chamber. The room only contained a couple chairs and a random mirror lying on the floor against the wall, and with him: his hat and tools to prepare the deadly blade for the next battle. Echoing footsteps and soon a knock at the door– who in this living hell wanted to bother him now? “Yes?” With a slight snarl under his tone, he kept his eyes down to his handiwork. The door cracked upon opening, and steps sounded like sharp heels tapping the hard, onyx floor underneath. Upon lifting his head, his glowing red eyes caught a shocking sight.
He would expect it from a demon or anyone who has taken a sort of likening to him, but…Jade?? And here he thought he could only experience such a sigh in his dreams, as rare as finding good was while asleep. Albeit, this was no dream.
The undead bojutsu master wore no armor, no mask- none of her usual clothing. In its place was a see-through, black and green, simple yet sexy lingerie, and a pair of black high heeled boots. She actually walked all the way over to this side of the fortress looking like that? What if someone else saw her? Not that he was complaining, but was it wrong to feel grateful that no one seemed to get a piece of her? There was a glazed look in her pair of red- an all too familiar gleam and he knew what this meant. A smirk slowly paints itself upon his face while moving his hat and tools to the side. “Do you need something?” He innocently inquired.
“Just a little entertainment in attempt to drone out the noise,” she replied coolly. “but I suppose you will have to do.”
One thing leads to another; The last thing Kung Lao could remember beforehand was finding Jade on her knees and stripping him from his pants and lower body armor to suck him off. Oh thank the fucking gods she was no demon; he deserved a different change of pace. The rest of his clothes were removed by her hands, and with multiple teases here and there, he found her on her hands and knees before the mirror against the wall, and with a taunting wiggle of her rear, the last thing she told him was: “You cannot even hold a candle to Liu Kang’s skills. What makes you seem so great?” To her, it was just a tease she threw out to push him over the edge, but to him, an insult not only to his person and to his abilities, but a reason to show no mercy. Advancing toward her, rough hands grabbed her shoulders while hunching over her. “Don’t ever say his name while we’re like this…” He snarled lowly into her ear before forcing the head of his length right into her heated womanhood. It dives deep inside before he draws back to ram back into her, rewarding him with a gasp from her.
He repeats until they become deep, continuous thrusts. Jade trembled only from the rough manner Kung Lao was treating her in, but oh did she enjoy it. He didn’t have to know, but holding her tongue from moaning his name was getting hard. She takes this hot and heavy moment to look in the mirror next to them, suddenly immersed by how much she was truly enjoying herself, and how serious the hat wielder was taking this. Shit…if she admitted how good this felt and how sexy it was in such a position in front of a mirror, she knew he’ll talk about for days on end.
