This absolute fuck bought his daughters business degree, put her in charge of the last big factory in Morgantown for lobbying money, she lays people off, gives herself a 3 million dollar raise, puts funds in the Netherlands so they don’t have to pay taxes on them, and he has so much money we can’t get him out of office
And now. And FUCKING NOW Mr. Weed will never be legal finally realizes he can’t stop the industry so what does he do? Keep it illegal until he can monopolize himself, and once no one else but him and select few can stay rich THEN he sells the factory because they aren’t going to need it anymore. No one knows what that new company is going to do, if they’re going to cut benefits or liquidize the company all together, and it’s been a year of waiting. BUT don’t worry about darling daughter Heather she gets compensation to cushion her while all the chaos goes on in case her job isn’t there as the hundreds of employees are left to wonder if they’ll have to move or work two jobs to make a living.
It’s enough to vomit, and no one talks about it because there’s not a single part of our state that isn’t corrupt. I’m so sick of hearing about the full house actress when Manchin’s grotesque bloodline did the same thing to fuck over a bunch of people. Like just fucking ask me about any part of a state system and I will tell you why it’s an absolute nightmare

Workers say they’ve had no response to their urgent requests for help from their Democratic senator, Joe Manchin, who is often called the most powerful man in Washington. Viatris was formed through a merger between two pharmaceutical companies, Mylan and Upjohn.
Mylan’s chief executive, Manchin’s daughter Heather Bresch, got a $31 million payout as a result of the corporate consolidation before the new company set about cutting costs, including the closure of the Morgantown plant. Joseph Gouzd, president of United Steelworkers of America Local 8-957 and a worker at the plant, says Viatris has given little reason for the closure except to say the company is looking to “maximize the best interests of the shareholders.”

The documents were released as part of an ongoing antitrust suit in federal court. In June, Judge Daniel Crabtree issued a summary judgment partially siding with Mylan and partially siding with the plaintiffs, meaning the case goes on. Late last week, the judge unsealed some of the documents underlying the plaintiffs’ case.
Among the documents is an email sent on behalf of Bresch, who is the daughter of Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., to her counterpart at Pfizer, then-CEO Ian Read. In the email, sent in January 2011, Bresch confirms a previous discussion with Read in which she says that the two agreed that as part of a deal, Pfizer would disinvest from its EpiPen competitor, Adrenaclick. Eliminating its main competitor would then allow Mylan to continue raising its prices.

Mylan's chief executive, Manchin's daughter Heather Bresch, got a $31 million payout as a result of the corporate consolidation before the new company set about cutting costs, including the closure of the Morgantown plant.
Joseph Gouzd, president of United Steelworkers of America Local 8-957 and a worker at the plant, says Viatris has given little reason for the closure except to say the company is looking to "maximize the best interests of the shareholders."
We also speak with investigative journalist Katherine Eban, who says moving pharmaceutical production overseas contradicts the recommendations of numerous reports that have found major safety lapses in drug manufacturing abroad, as well as concern from lawmakers about keeping a key industry within the United States.
"This is pure insanity," Eban says. "It seems like it is both pharmaceutical and national security suicide to close this plant."
