how ironic, don't you think, coming from someone who had been obsessed with titanic since she was a little girl. how just a few years ago, she had rekindled her interest and this pull she had towards the history of the titanic and the movie, practically hyperfixated on it for a while actually. funny how rafayel's affinity 100 ring is the color blue and rose's necklace is also blue.

and how rafayel asks mc if she wants his heart, whilst the necklace rose had in the movie was called 'heart of the ocean'.

Kate Winslet as Rose Dawson wearing the "Heart of The Ocean" necklace in "Titanic" (1997). Celine Dion wearing the necklace for her performance of "My Heart Will Go On" at the 1998 Academy Awards for which she won the Oscar for Best Original Song ✨

If I had a nickel for every time the main character of a movie threw an irreplaceable necklace into the ocean as a sign of moving on, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

(For real though this trope makes me indescribably mad. My family thinks it’s hilarious but every. freakin. time. someone tosses a valuable/irreplaceable heirloom into the ocean or buries it or basically does anything where said heirloom is destroyed or unrecoverable I go into rant mode. They know it’s coming and we have a good time but still…It’s probably because I’m such a sentimental person lol. Anyways, sorry for the tangent.)

Miss Kitty~ I did a 3-way Titanic/GMD RP on a Discord server that I'm part of - and this is what came out of it. xD The story is really something. Anywho, the idea of Kitty wearing the Heart of the Ocean just seemed so pretty in my head that I had to draw it. <3

I have a distinct memory of getting a Heart of the Ocean necklace for Christmas as a kid. I don't know what happened to it after that day

i love it when you read multiple works from a writer and you start being able to pick out the things that stick with them. like the themes they keep thinking about, that can’t be satisfied with just one poem or novel or story. or the motifs they like to reuse and recycle throughout their works like an extradiagetic thread. it’s like drawing a map through a writer’s collection of all the things that keep them up at night
