nebraska: sweetheart. hes so cute. everyone loves him. himbo to the max. nobody really remembers he exists but hes happy to be there. has a dried corn cob in his pocket. why? idk. the epitome of he's confused but he's got the spirit. drinks an unhealthy amount of koolaid.

nevada: cheer team. wears full makeup to school every day. how does he have time for that. literally flawless. cant count to 10 though. nobody knows how he can hold a pen with his long goddamn acrylics. uses shakira songs as motivational quotes. says a weird amount of words with ussy endings. nevs alarm is him singing about damn time but its just aesthetically yelling ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME TO GET THE FUCK UP. outfit is literally perfect every day. uses ridiculous amounts of hairspray. lush FIEND. uses an obnoxious amount of gel pens. failing math but his notes are almost as cute as him.

new hampshire: gay. pretends hes civilised and a functional member of society. actually unhinged. rich as fuck parents. reads textbooks for fun. has a fancy looking dog. dresses like an old money equestrian. probably plays polo. what a loser.

new jersey: greasy. part of the garden club. pretends he isn't. refuses to admit he likes flowers. a total fucking nerd even if he pretends he hates school. straight a's. gym bro vibes. smokes in the bathroom and sets off the fire alarm way too much. probably listens to andrew tate. uses an entire can of axe body spray every morning. its like tear gas as he walks down the hallway. contributes to 47% of greenhouse gas emissions.

new mexico: dude has a whole feast in his lunchbox. he shares with everyone except colorado. will fight people. very scrappy. we love him. fucks up all these other bitches in spanish class. likes acting as a wizard at any opportunity he can. he strikes me as a band kid. owns 14 pet chihuahuas and he loves them dearly.

new york: pretends he ain't a theatre kid. everyone knows he is. also has rich as fuck parents. hes giving wears designer clothes that look exactly like regular ones. he bursts into song when he's alone in his bedroom. its giving 2008 taylor swift vibes. wishes he owned a cape. tries to hit new jersey with his car. has a rattail.

north carolina: country boy my beloved. football is love football is life. has a secret love of pirates. can often be found rambling to random people, despite this he is horribly socially anxious and is rambling because he cannot make small talk. very friendly, nice guy, often shows new people around. he's trying to work on his social anxiety. brought an opossum to school in his bag once. south carolina acts like hes 12. southie thinks it's funny to tell him he has school on days off. north falls for it most times.

north dakota: hockey player. nerd. wears glasses. constantly dressed for cold weather. carries around his books like he's the main character. does a lot better in school than south dakota. quieter. nice guy though. pushes up his glasses a lot in that nerdy way. pretends he and south aren't related. despite the fact they are almost identical twins.

ohio: unfunny class clown. his jokes are oddly specific and mildly disturbing. the ultimate band kid. he plays everything. can often be found standing eerily at the end of dim hallways. does not know what homework is. blinks too much.

oklahoma: wears cowboy boots everywhere. claims he's not a cowboy. also pretends he's not a theatre kid. can't fuckin drive for shit. got banned from running track because he kept getting disqualified for running before the starting signal. smh oklahoma.

oregon: there are no books in his backpack. just monster cans. hasn't slept a day in his life since he started highschool. he does those tiktok interview thingies with random people. most are classmates. hes a tryhard. gay as fuck. drinks a Terrifying amount of caffeine.

FTWD 6x11: The Holding

Wow! Where to begin with this episode? We had some super-stellar parallels going here. I don’t think it was any secret that I wasn’t thrilled with last week’s episode. It was fine, but also kind of meh. I LOVED this week’s episode. So much good stuff!

***As always, spoilers for 6x11 abound below. Don't read until you've watched!***

So, we learn about these “end is the beginning” people. They’re staying in a place called The Holding, which is really an underground parking garage. (Um…cars, anyone? Let’s recall that Daryl and Carol walked through at least one parking garage in Consumed while looking for Beth. They also passed lots of above-ground ones, including one that had a red car with its door open in front of it. Also, the fact that it’s underground could make it a symbolic tomb/grave.)

These people are composting walkers to grow food underground. (People do use blood and bone feed to fertilize gardens. Like compost and waste, it really does help them grow. Of course in our society it’s ANIMAL blood and bone. Using walkers/humans is definitely more sinister and cringy. And they have proven that eating various parts of humans leads to things like Mad Cow’s Disease, so I do think Alicia’s question about food being grown that way being healthy is viable.)

But moving on.

It’s important to note that the showrunner called this group a cult, so are not they meant to be “good people.” Most of those that live there aren’t sinister, but they’ve been brainwashed into thinking their leader is a good man and that what he’s trying to accomplish is good. They’ve drunk the koolaid (or eaten the walker food?).

So, we have the ivy walker.

There really couldn’t be a more clear parallel to the blond girl Daryl saw on the tree in 5x15. Plus all the green ivy around her.

I believe we saw a promo of this walker early on. Like maybe nearer the beginning of S6. Which, thanks to Covid, was more than a year ago. I’d pretty much forgotten it, but we actually do see it in this episode.

The dogma of this group (“the end is the beginning”) is that from death springs new life. This walker is meant to represent that. Life growing out of death. And on its own, it doesn’t seem like an overly negative mission statement. After all, this world is full of death and people are trying to survive. But it quickly becomes obvious that there’s more sinister stuff at work here.

So what does this have to do with Beth? I think she’s the ultimate symbol of life springing from death. So, not only does this foreshadow her, but they’re also using her as a symbol here. I don’t know how this group may feed into future story lines, or if they’ll just be a FTWD thing, but it will be interesting to watch.

Some of the major things in this episode: a Sirius reunion, a Daryl/Merle parallel, Grady parallels, at least two major Beth/Bethyl proxies, and some tantalizing hints for what’s to come involving both this group and the CRM. (See why I loved this episode?)

Let’s dive in.

First, let me acknowledge all the background symbols. There are tons of them, and I don’t want to go into tons of detail about them. But we see cheese (think Morgan/Eastman), tomatoes, eggs (lots of food). We also see fire extinguishers, lots of green (especially paint), an elevator. You get the idea.

The first big thing that happens is Wes meets his brother, Derek, whom he thought was dead.

Welcome to the first Beth proxy.

Okay, I didn’t remember much of this backstory or how much of it was told when we first met Wes. I do remember talking about his brother as a possible Beth proxy, but beyond that, I didn’t remember details. But they rehash it all here. Care to take a guess?

Wes went out for supplies and was overwhelmed by, you guessed it, a walker horde. He ran into a shed but it collapsed (becoming something of tomb) and the walkers were beating on the outside, trying to get in (think Beth and Daryl in the trunk). He passed out and woke up in The Holding.

That’s exactly like what happened with Beth, actually. She told Gorman she was fighting a walker and everything went black. She woke up at Grady.

The difference here is that Beth never bought into what Dawn was peddling, but unfortunately, Wes’s brother did. We eventually learn that he’s a true follower of “Teddy,” the cult leader and condones the murder that’s being done.

And of course that’s also what we think happened during the missing 17 days. Overwhelmed by walkers, left behind. Perhaps she woke up back at Grady, or somewhere else.

But the actual reunion between Wes and Derek is very on-the-nose. Because Wes truly thought this brother dead, he even says things like, “You’re alive?” and “What the hell?” Probably things that will be said about Beth when she finally shows up.

There’s also a serious/Sirius mention when they sit down to talk. And Derek keeps mentioning his bike. Like Daryl, he had a bike that Wes took when he thought his brother dead. But the fact that he mentions “bikes” like five times in this conversation is important.

I wanted to mention coffee. We’ve seen coffee as a symbol before, specifically around Carol. We first noticed it when Paula told her little story about the carrot, the egg and the coffee beans going into the water in 6x13. She said the coffee beans changed the water itself. So, coffee = a catalyst for change. But this episode made me realize it’s a catalyst for a change that’s not necessarily good.

Apparently, the supplies Wes’s brother went out for was coffee creamer. The change that came was not only him being left behind and presumed dead, but changing into a person that no longer empathized with other human beings. (Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t we see Carol making and drinking coffee just before they went to the caverns and Connie disappeared?)

There’s also a huge eye/sight/see theme. They take everyone over to see this green-ivy walker and ask them what they “see”. The idea is that they should see life and possibility springing from death, but it’s just a way to indoctrinate them and check to see if they’re willing to go along with what the cult’s beliefs are. Lots of talk of eyes (opening your eyes), what one can and can’t yet see, etc.

Later, we see walkers with their mouths sewn shut. So we have at least the see no evil, speak no evil themes. There might have been hear no evil that I didn’t catch.

The second major parallel is to Daryl and Merle, since these two are brothers.

But it’s more than just that. Wes took Derek’s bike after he disappeared (same as Daryl and Merle). When Wes found his brother again, he was with a bad group (with Merle, it was the Governor) or rather a group of decent people led by an evil man. Derek has a skewed mindset, and is working for Teddy. Remember that Merle not only worked for the Gov but even tried to kill Michonne at one point. And how they die is…similar. Merle’s, in the end, was more chivalrous, as he died to help save Daryl and TF. That wasn’t the case with Derek, but his death resulted from him pretending to work against Teddy. Unfortunately it wasn’t real, and he betrayed them, but there are still parallels/anti-parallels between the two stories.

How is this place like Grady?

There’s the underground tomb aspect, the fact that they grow their own food. At the beginning, Alicia’s group keeps asking them questions about the community, which Riley (Nick Stahl) pretty much refuses to answer.

One of them is, “Are we allowed to leave?” or “Is anyone allowed to leave?” That, of course, instantly reminded me of Grady. Now, they never answer it directly, and at one point, Riley says they can decide if they want to stay or not. But by the time we get to the end of the episode, I’m pretty sure that’s BS. So, like Grady, no one’s really given the choice to leave. Even if they tell people they can.

They’re taken into a room with medical equipment at one point. It just looks a lot like Grady, though I could tell it wasn’t the same kind of medical equipment. We’re told that it’s embalming equipment.

In fact, Al says something that should catch your ear. She says, “they must have hit the funeral home.” Naturally all our minds will go to Alone, but she’s talking about the funeral home she and Dwight (I think) were at before. I don’t remember which episode, but we talked about it looking a lot like the funeral home in Alone. So, I think Al is saying these people, The Holding, raided that funeral home and took the equipment. Kinda makes me think the funeral home in Alone will come back into the picture at some point.

And it turns out, The Holding is embalming walkers. Al’s group ends up in a room with dozens of walkers strung up by their wrists (kind of like Daryl and Michonne were in Scars). They’ve been embalmed and their mouths have been sewn shut.

So, here’s where the plot becomes super interesting. I mentioned above that Riley told them they could choose to leave at some point, right? Al was saying that everything they’ve set up is impressive—food, power, water, they’re very self-sustaining—but it felt like they were preparing for something big.

He admits that they are. He says they are planning to soon close the doors permanently. He says they never want to go topside again, and the new way to live will be underground.

Later, when talking to Morgan, Al sort of implies that maybe it’s not so much about them choosing to go underground as that something will drive them underground for a long time. Almost like they’re preparing for a nuclear winter or something. But we don’t know exactly what it is.

I think what we’re supposed to infer is that they’re collecting walkers to use as compost in coming years. (They even call the walkers ‘posters.) They’re embalming the walkers to keep them “fresh.” Riley says the walkers last about 2 months in the composter before they break down entirely, so putting away 20 or 30 walkers really will last them for years.

CRM Ties

Wes and Al snoop through Derek’s room. They find maps of different communities and some of those transparent overlays that have the three rings of the CRM on them. That’s how they know that this group is attacking communities (like Tank Town) and that Derek knows all about it.

The other thing Al figures out from looking at Derek’s maps is that the group seemed to be tracking the CRM’s drop sites. She thinks they want to get their hands on a helicopter. (So, when it comes to Nora’s group, who was in the high rise, this group wasn’t after them. The roof was a helicopter drop site and that’s really who they were after. Though, they might have set the plague on Nora’s people because they are trying to kill humanity.) And given that this cult might be planning the end of the world, clearly them getting a hold of a helicopter would be a bad thing.

Al tells Dwight she’s going to go look for Isobel and warn her. I think she’s just planning to go to the drop sites and wait for a helicopter to show up.

So, we have more potential interaction with the CRM through Al. And I’m really hoping we get some good Bethyl symbolism and clues through this storyline. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on it.

Morgan and Burning it Down

Wes confronts him and talks him into leaving with them. At one point, Wes mentions Morgan. I think he just does it without thinking, because what would Morgan mean to his brother, right? But Derek instantly gets weird when he hears Morgan’s name, and Wes doesn’t really notice.

When they try to leave, they get caught, and it’s obvious Derek set them up. They’re taken to the embalming room, and Riley asks where Morgan is. They won’t say how they know him or why they want him, but they’re VERY interested in finding Morgan.

I was thinking it might just be because Morgan killed those two guys in one of the early episodes when they attacked him in his truck, but they both died and wouldn’t have known his name from that encounter anyway. So I’m not sure what this is about. There are the tapes they were leaving at gas stations and such. Maybe that’s it, but it wouldn’t explain why they would want Morgan more than the others.

They’re taken to the embalming room and threatened with death. Derek takes Wes back to the ivy walker to see if he can “see” what Wes does.

A fight ensues, and Wes throws Derek into the walker where he’s bitten. He shoots his brother so he won’t turn. The thing about this part is that it doesn’t show it. It instead shows the (somewhat yellowish) mural Derek was working on before, and Teddy’s voice is talking about how light comes from darkness. Then, we just hear a single gunshot.

That gave me *major* Beth vibes.

Wes then goes back to the embalming room to rescue the others.

Wes’s reaction at this part reminded me a bit of Daryl/Merle too. Not so much at Merle’s death, but back in 3x10 when Daryl returned to the prison. It just struck me that, while Wes did cry when his brother died and clearly mourned him, he got over it really fast. He went back to where the group was and no longer seemed terribly broken up about it. I was just thinking he seemed to have figured out who his true family was and where he really belonged, and that that was more important than his brother’s warped mindset. Much like Daryl and Merle.

When he goes back, he takes Riley hostage briefly and they all escape into another room and bar the door. This room is full of the hanging walkers full of embalming fluid. They have to walk between them toward an exit on the far side.

Al Parallels Daryl in 5x15

Here’s another super interesting parallel. Al sees one walker hanging that has the black CRM gear on it, including the helmet, so she can’t see its face. She walks over to it and lifts its helmet, clearly looking to see if it’s Isobel, which it’s not. Such an obvious parallel to Daryl looking into the face of the blond walker on the tree. It even lunges at her and she kills it, like Daryl did with that walker.

What I liked here is that Alicia freaked out about it. She said, “what the hell was that?” Aaron didn’t say that to Daryl, so they weren’t drawing as much attention to it there as they did here. But clearly we are supposed to notice that, without knowing more, that behavior is bizarre. And here, we the audience know that Al was worried it was Isobel. But Alicia doesn’t. Where the blond walker on the tree is concerned, the audience is in Alicia’s place, not being terribly clear about what’s behind Daryl’s behavior. (I mean, TD is, but most of the rest of the fandom isn’t.)

So then Alicia says they should take this place down. When Al stabbed the CRM walker in the neck, embalming fluid poured out. Embalming fluid is highly flammable. So, long story short, Alicia stays behind to “burn it down” and the others escape. (I don’t have to explain that parallel, right? ;D)

It all happens really fast. We see Alicia light the match (which Al had; just reminded me of Daryl having matches in Rick’s hallucination in 7x01, and clearly Al = Daryl in this parallel), and then it skips to Al, Wes, and Luciana back with Morgan telling him what happened. They say the fire was huge and burned hot, and Alicia could have gotten out, but they couldn’t FIND her. They also don’t know if any of the Holding people got out.

So Morgan just says they’re going to go back and start at the Holding location to look for Alicia. I’m assuming that will happen next episode.

So, we aren’t exactly clear on this group’s dogma or what they’re trying to do, but it does seem that they want to kill off everyone who lives up top. Which is, you know, everyone. And once again, that makes them a lot like the Wolves. They believe killing people is saving them. I’m not saying these are Wolves or anything (they might be; after all, both groups tied a blond walker to a tree and believed similar things about killing off the remnants of humanity) but rather that the Wolves were a foreshadow of other groups to come.

And the next question is, are they part of the CRM? Because of the CRM walker, and what they implied about them trying to hijack a helicopter, I’m thinking not. But there’s clearly a lot of entanglement going on.

Alicia = Beth

So, in the final scene, we have some interesting developments. This may be the scene that got my mind spinning the most, just in terms of symbolic Beth potential.

We see Alicia, very much alive, and still in the embalming room, though now all the walls look blackened. So obviously the entire place didn’t burn down. (That doesn’t surprise me. It’s an underground parking garage. It takes a lot to burn down cement.)

She’s being held hostage in there. Riley comes in and says some weird, cryptic things. He says new life springs from death, for MOST people, and that they plan to preserve Alicia exactly as she is. It’s obvious they mean to kill and embalm her.

But I had the thought that maybe they meant her to take the place of the Ivy Walker. We don’t know what happened to that walker. It might have burned in the fire, but they didn’t show us either way. I was thinking that it would make a twisted sense for them to embalm Alicia (who tried to take their community down) and put her in its place. Which would make her a Beth proxy.

Riley leaves her alone with the embalming guy, but she stabs him in the eye (Sirius) and then, after a brutal scuffle, sticks him in the neck with the embalming needle, killing him.

It’s then that we finally meet Teddy, the leader of the cult. We hear about him and hear his voice a lot during the episode (they play tapes of him talking throughout the garage as people work) but this is when we first see him. It’s John Glover. I don’t know if everyone’s familiar with him. He was on Smallville back in the day. I totally forgot he was going to be on the show. He’s usually a villain, but more of a funny villain than a scary villain.

Anyway, he basically tells Alicia he has a special role for her and that he’s been looking for someone like her for a long time. He seems convinced that he can convert her to his philosophy, but he’s also fixated on the fact that she sacrificed herself for her family. So, it doesn’t say what he means by “someone like you” but I’m assuming someone who is brave or else self-sacrificial.

But here’s the thing. I’ve been thinking recently that they haven’t really done much with Alicia lately. She’s one of the few surviving originals for this series, and one of the most well known actors going into it, because she’s been on other highly-watched tv shows, but they’ve kind of been ignoring her.

So, I think this is the beginning of a big arc for her, and I think it will be a major parallel for what happened with Beth after she was left behind.

Alicia becomes a proxy here for Beth, not only because she’s in the Grady-like medical room, and stabs a guy in the eye, but Teddy totally razzes her about being left behind.

He says, “they left you behind.” She says, “I made them.” He says, “Yeah, but they obliged.” And then goes off about how they’re her family and family is sacred and they shouldn’t have done that.

And in my head, I’m screaming, “Beth! Beth! Beth!”

So yeah. Super intrigued by this episode. They’re setting up some really intriguing things and it will be very interesting to see what happens moving forward.

Uhhh so I’m just gonna slap a life update under the cut for anyone who’s curious? Also bc this is my blog and I want to be able to vent wherever the hell i feel like. it’ll be messy.

Alrighty so first things first: My mom is in the hospital with some pretty severe cancer. Hospitalized for several months straight severe. It’s happening because of the treatment from her breast cancer several years ago. I’m fine with this. She’s abusive and is completely fine with how she’s treated me since I came out as trans. I know that she’s fine with it because we’ve talked about it and she said as much.

The real problem with this is that i’m now living with my dad alone because my sister moved out earlier this year. Its just the two of us, four dogs, and two cats. This is a problem because my dad has no healthy ways to deal with his stress and frustration so he takes it out on me. His toxic behaviors that have been harming me my entire life have only gotten worse. He refuses to acknowledge that anything he’s ever done has been wrong, and I mean it when I say he’d do anything to help me be better short of ever changing his behavior.

For example, i told him that when he referred to the house and dishes as belonging to him (for example, saying things like “stop leaving my dishes in your room” referring to the dishes i’ve eaten on in my room. Like, the communal dishes the whole family uses? and has for my entire life?) made me feel like a guest in my own home and like i had no claim to anything he told me i was delusional, that he wouldn’t stop talking like that, and that if I wanted any claim on anything in this house that he expects me to maintain I’d have to start paying to live here. I can’t do that, because I’ve only recently gotten a job (i’ve been trying to avoid it because I don’t want to get sick and hurt my friends) and I have to save up so i can either A) get myself the fuck out of here & transition or B) pay for a school program myself that in two years or so could help me get a decently stable and well paying job.

Also, on the topic of paying rent, both of my parents have completely refused to negotiate with me. I asked them to let me move into my sister’s vacated room (it gets more sunlight, is bigger, and overall would be genuinely much better for my emotional health) and I was informed that I’d need to pay them $300 a month to do that. Mind you, my sister only had to pay a percentage of her paycheck up to $300 a month. My parents would accept her maximum as my absolute minimum. So i’m making do with my cramped space.

Its been 2 years since I came out as trans to my parents. The only person in my family to wholeheartedly embrace me aside from my sister is my grandfather who lives 3 hours away. My dad can’t even consistently call me by my name, still calls me “girl”, and acts like he found out a few weeks ago and its still new. He introduces me to strangers as his daughter and by my deadname. He’s a trump supporting capitalist evangelical christian (both parents are) and has been drinking the voter fraud koolaid and doesn’t wear a mask at his job sites.

Every interaction I have with him has me on edge and nervous. I can’t be my own self in the place where i live, and i’m not even allowed the illusion of thinking that this is actually my own home. Even when he’s gone for days at a time I can’t relax because I have four severely neglected hunting dogs that I cannot help and I can’t take care of to monitor and try and control. I have to keep them quiet because if they start barking at the landlord’s dogs (who are allowed to run around outside off lead) the landlords get angry at us. They’re not leash trained, so I physically cannot walk any of them. Karley was abandoned by my middle sister, and is now basically my responsibility.

Tucker, Karley’s son, was left here by my oldest sister who couldn’t take him with her immediately when she moved away. Both of them are purebred german shorthaired pointers because my dad wanted hunting dogs and then never trained them. They’re never taken on walks. Finley is a miniature poodle who belongs to my mom. She was too lazy to play with him with a laser pointer, so yeah. Zeke is an old standard poodle who is dying and my family will not put down even though he seems absolutely miserable. I cannot care for these dogs. I never asked for them to be my responsibility, but I’m the only one who actually cares about their well being except i can’t help them. I don’t know what to do. Finley’s so smart and I can’t do anything to stimulate his brain. Karley and Tucker are so energetic and I don’t have the space or stamina to exercise them, and I can’t teach them to walk on leads because they’re too hyper but they’re too hyper because they’re never walked and they’re never walked because they don’t know how to walk on leads and i can’t do anything about it. Zeke is in pain and there’s nothing I can do about it!

There’s nothing I can do to help them and because they’re all under stimulated and not trained (my family HAS ACTIVELY REFUSED TO TRAIN THEM SAYING IT CANT BE DONE) they destroy my belongings and what few things I have to my own self and I’m told its my fault when they do. They’ve made this house filthy and foul smelling and theres nothing I can do about it.

I’m trapped here and i’m suffocating and I can’t even assert who I am without risking my shelter.

Modern AU Skeksis/Mystics, part 1

SkekSo the Emperor:

Is still the leader of the Skeksis in name only.

Still experimented with the darkening, has a lot of health issues from it.

Lives in the castle still.

Even if he wanted to leave, his health wouldn't allow him to go far.

Both his health and newfound immortality humbled him quite a bit.

Went through a pretty nasty bit of depression where he wouldn't leave his chambers for weeks at a time.

He lost his role as Lord of the Crystal, his role as Emperor is meaningless, almost all the Skeksis left, and even when he gained immortality it came at the cost of his own health.

To see all he had built crumble around him so quickly was hard on him to say the least.

Since she was the one to take away their duties over the Crystal, Aughra wasn't much help in making SkekSo feel any better.

Raunip, however, became the closest thing to a friend SkekSo had ever had.

He actually got SkekSo to talk and learned the extent of how much the Skeksis lived in fear of death for so, so long.

It was through SkekSo that Raunip began working as a therapist.

Over time, SkekSo learned to just live, despite all the fears he still had.

Taking life one day at a time. Still getting over his fear of death.

Still has an pretty big ego though.

UrSu the Master:

Has health issues due to all the experiments on the darkening SkekSo did.

He retired as Master. Just goes by UrSu.

Even so, he couldn't bear to be so alone in the Valley, so he left with the other Mystics.

Had to be carried in a carriage the entire time, as his health issues made him prone to fainting and collapsing in general.

Found a passion for caring for young Childlings. Became the Communes go to babysitter and teacher.

Is apprehensive around the Skeksis and prefers to not be around them. Will still tolerate and respect the ones that live in the Commune.

Became closer to the other Urru now that he no longer had to act as their leader.

They are supportive of him finding a new lease on life.

Just outside of the commune, he finds an orphanage for Gelfling and Podlings alike.

Grandpa UrSu.

SkekSil the Chamberlain:

Was the fastest of all the Skeksis to adapt to the new changes that happened.

No longer at the Castle.

He thought about it, but with SkekSo no longer Emperor and most the Skeksis leaving, there was no reason for him to stay.

Found a job collaborating with the various Maudra.

Became extremely helpful with his advice in how they should rule/govern.

Still uses his position to gain power.

It is because of the advice he gives that the Gelfling clans are still segregated rather than all coming together.

Still keeps in communication with most the Skeksis.

Not as malicious as before, but still shouldn't be trusted.

Has his own personal chambers in every major Gelfling capital due to how often he travels from place to place, aiding the Maudras.

UrSol the Chanter:

Runs his own radio station out in the Valley.

What's playing on the radio? Whatever he wants.

Sometimes it's the newest Sifan hits, other times its traditional Grottan songs from over 500 trine ago.

Even so, his radio station is very popular, especially amongst historians.

When he leaves the Valley on occassion, his voice is instantly recognized.

Many swarms of fans ensue.

Also has his own podcast where he talks about the latest going ons for various Skeksis and Mystics.

The podcast is even more popular than his radio station.

Also has multiple music lines, ranging from songs to soothe childlings to the Thra equivalent of heavy metal.

Many up and coming Gelfling singers and performers will often source him as their main inspiration.

Is amongst the most famous of the Mystics.

SkekVar the General:

Was the most reluctant to the changes that Aughra incited.

Even more reluctant than SkekUng and SkekSo.

Argued and fought about it every step of the way.

Stayed at the Castle for a while, determined to keep the status quo going.

Became one of the only ones to stay with the Emperor.

His determination to keep things the same made SkekSo snap at him one day, telling SkekVar to leave and never return.

Sad lad for days.

He was still prejudiced towards any creature that wasn't a Skeksis and found life outside the Castle hard.

He was royalty, but even he knew that he couldn't just punch or kill a Gelfling or Podling because he felt like it.

Stumbled across the Commune after getting shooed out of yet another village.

That is where he found UrMa.

UrMa began teaching SkekVar to calm down and be kinder.

SkekVar vehemently refused for the longest time, but UrMa has a knack for being able to deal with even the angriest of creatures.

Still rough around the edges, but began to get along really well with his Mystic half.

Calmed down quite a bit and was much less gun ho about going to war for everything.

Ended up settling down in the Commune, feeling he had no other place to go.

Became the Security Guard of the commune.

Will still say how he detests Gelfling and Podlings.

Even so, the childlings of the Commune love Uncle SkekVar and he most definitely doesn't smile as he gives them piggy back rides.

UrMa the Peacekeeper.

Left the Valley with UrSu.

Was the most supportive about him no longer being Master.

It was UrMas idea in the first place to set up the Commune, as well as to allow Skeksis, Gelfling, and Podling alike inside.

Despite the others hesitation, nobody could really say no to UrMa.

He became the greeter of the Commune due to his friendly and kind nature.

Even the other Skeksis that chose to live there couldn't be mean to him (for long, anyways).

Emotional Support Mystic.

Even welcomed SkekVar with open arms after asking him nicely to stop pointing his swords at everyone.

Through helping SkekVar, he also learned how to fight.

Is still awful at it and his punches are the equivalent to a gentle breeze, but it's the thought that counts.

Still loves UrSu and helps out at the orphanage often.

SkekZok the Ritual Master:

Left the Castle to start his own Cult.

Became the god of his Cult full of Gelfling that still wish that the status quo of worshipping the Lords was a thing.

Aughra had to step in when he tried having the Gelfling drink the Koolaid.

She tried getting UrZah to intervene, see if he could help SkekZok set up something healthier.

That did not work.

UrZah and SkekZok do not get along.

They vehemently hate each other.

Doesn't really talk with the other Skeksis anymore and is happy in his little cult.

The other Skeksis and Mystics have no idea where exactly his cult is and none of them care enough to ask.

UrZah the Ritual Guardian:

Stayed in the Valley.

Instead of a cult, he started his own religion.

The religion is much kinder than the cult.

It is most popular amongst the Dousan.

Has his own church temple within the Valley where Gelfling will come from miles around to hear his teachings.

A small part of him only started the religion to spite SkekZok specifically.

His religion is more popular than SkekZoks cult and it gives him immense joy daily.

There are many discussions on his religion throughout Thra.

SkekUng the Garthim Master:

Was as opposed to change as SkekVar was.

Even tried inciting a rebellion at one point.

That didn't last long.

He was, however, quicker to accept the changes compared to SkekVar.

Chose to stay in the Castle, planning out his next course of action.

Due to his intelligence and military knowledge, he became in charge of the Paladins after SkekVar was sent away.

Took it in stride and actually developed many laws and opened up an academy specifically for Paladins outside the Castle.

His short temper and tendency to yell made him more of a drill sergeant than an instructor.

Even so, the Paladins had never been better since the school opened.

UrIm the Healer:

At first, he followed the other Mystics who left the Valley for the Commune, mainly out of worry for UrSu.

He stayed for a while, feeling an obligation despite not feeling like his place was at the Commune.

Both UrMa and UrSu convinced him to leave and find his purpose elsewhere.

And so he did.

He began traveling all across Thra, sharing his knowledge and teachings with the Gelfling and Podling populace.

The medical field skyrocketed in knowledge nearly overnight.

His wisdom greatly increased the life expectancy of Gelfling and Podling alike, as well as improved the field of surgery.

With his help, an actual medical school was opened up near the Crystal Desert.

When he settled down, it was amongst the Dousan at the Wellspring.

He had a soft spot for them, and the Dousan clan ended up becoming the leading clan in the medical field.

SkekTek the Scientist:

At the beginning, he was the least impacted by the change.

He was still often secluded in his lab, still bullied by all the other Skeksis, and still had only his animals for companions.

Aughra tried helping him, but he kept pushing her away.

Raunip was more insistent and, over time, got SkekTek to open up about everything that happened to him at the Castle.

When Raunip convinced SkekTek to talk to Aughra and tell her all that he went through, she convinced him to leave.

There were too many dark memories for him at the Castle.

He refused for a while, simply out of fear for the outside.

He hadn't left the Castle in hundreds of trine. Trying to make his life outside of it seems like a fools errand.

After some deliberating, Aughra left with him, leaving Raunip in charge of the Crystal.

Not forever, just long enough to get SkekTek on his feet.

And she knew exactly where to go first.

They went to the Valley, where UrTih still remained.

Despite his misgivings, SkekTek quickly discovered that he not only found his Mystic half very similar, but that they both got along very well.

Aughra left SkekTek with UrTih in the Valley, though she still calls him frequently.

She became closest with SkekTek after everything was said and done.

SkekTek and UrTih began to make various machines and products in the Valley, as well as started to collect pets.

When they both realized they needed more room, they both left and found a secluded place far in the mountains, close to the Caves of Grot.

There, they set up their own workshop and animal sanctuary.

And SkekTek is happy with his life with UrTih.

UrTih the Alchemist:

Stayed in the Valley for a long time.

Lived a mundane life, lost in his experiments.

Kinda apathetic for the most part.

Until SkekTek showed up.

He was wary of his Skeksis half at first, knowing all too well the injuries that had transpired over time.

He very quickly learned that SkekTek held a similar love for experiments and animals.

Got along really well with his Skeksis half. Even convinced him to stop experimenting on other creatures and their own bodies.

Taught SkekTek how to work with chemicals while SkekTek taught him how to work with machines.

The Mystics hadn't seen UrTih so happy in a long time.

When they needed more room, UrGoh helped them find just the place.

UrTih worked mostly in the animal sanctuary while SkekTek worked mainly with machines.

And he was happy with his life with SkekTek.

SkekMal the Hunter:

Not at all happy about the changes.

Not even a little bit.

Aughra and UrVa have told him both that if he keeps killing Podlings and Gelfling, he will be imprisoned.

He tried calling their bluff and killed a Podling. Currently stuck in jail in the Castle for at least thirty trine, if not longer.

Very mad about it.

Tried escaping many times.

The jail is SkekMal proof, not even the apocalypse would get through.

Aughra and Raunip visited him a lot, tried helping him get his instincts in check.

Though it didn't work, they at least worked out a deal with SkekMal.

When he is released, he can still hunt, so long as he doesn't do so much to the point where creatures go extinct.

And no killing Gelfling, Podlings, Skeksis, or Mystics.

If he doesn't abide by the rules set in place, Aughra has no issue keeping him locked up til the end of eternity.

SkekMal knows well enough by now that she isn't bluffing.

When he is released, he does abide by the rules set in place.

Mainly because UrVa is a huge tattle tail and WILL tell on SkekMal.

Ends up traveling far from the mainlands of Thra, to areas where no Gelfling or Podlings reside.

There, he spends his days hunting in peace.

UrVa the Archer:

After SkekMal was arrested, he decided to explore the farther reaches of Thra.

He found many lands that were complete unknowns to him, ones fraught with danger and peril, ones where only animals lived.

He came to love those lands and they became his new home.

He had spent so long always worrying about what his dark half was doing that now he finally got to spend some time for himself.

And he loved it.

After SkekMal was released, a part of UrVa didn't want to track the Hunter down anymore. He just wanted to live his own life.

He only did so for Aughra, knowing his oldest friend had a lot on her plate.

UrVa was expecting an eternity always following after his dark half, making sure he followed all the rules.

Instead, SkekMal discovered the same love for the outer lands that UrVa had found.

Though they never said as much, both UrVa and SkekMal found a pleasant life amongst themselves, with nothing besides the wilderness, the hunt, and one another.

SkekGra the Heretic:

He was heartbroken when he discovered that he and UrGoh would never be reunited.

He begged Aughra to find something, anything that would bring the two halves back together.

But there was nothing that could be done.

He spent ages in denial, desperately trying to find any solution that he and UrGoh might be one yet again.

It was UrGoh that stopped it, urging SkekGra to accept that they were two separate beings for eternity.

Despite their separation, SkekGra and UrGoh stayed together, having a deep love for one another that transcended their bond.

Rather than stay at the Circle of the Suns, they took to traveling again, seeing how much Thra changed after nearly 400 trine of exile.

It had changed. A LOT.

Neither have any idea how to use electronics.

Especially not SkekGra.

They became rather popular visitors throughout Thra amongst the Gelfling.

They were not ashamed nor afraid to share the origins of the Skeksis and Mystics.

The revelations caused some... issues at the beginning, but Raunip stepped in and quelled the discord.

The Gelfling children loved when the space grandpas came to visit their town.

SkekGra was especially popular amongst rowdy children, able to match their energy and was an all around fun Skeksis.

And wherever he went, UrGoh was always with him.

UrGoh the Wanderer.

Like SkekGra, he was heartbroken over the fact that they would never be reunited.

Even so, he accepted it much quicker than SkekGra did.

It took a lot of time and talking, but soon enough he was able to help SkekGra accept it to.

Loves SkekGra even past their bond, having no desire to leave his Skeksis half.

Was even more excited than SkekGra was to begin traveling again.

Also has no idea to use the new electronics of the modern day.

The other Mystics tried teaching him, to no avail.

Both he and SkekGra became close to the Mystics after so many trine.

They have a room at the Commune should they ever need it.

For the most part, the pair just travels around with their stories.

UrGoh loves his puppet shows and has improved upon them.

Still catches on fire more times than is necessary.

Popular amongst parents as his slow speech is capable of putting many childlings to sleep.

Despite being unable to reunite as an Urskek, he is still happy with his life with SkekGra.

Will finish the remaining Skeksis in part 2.

The 100 rewatch: 2x01 The 48

Very solid season opener. Also, this is pretty much Peak Clarke.

Rating: 8.5/10

The scenes in Mount Weather were so well done, with the surface happiness and comfort and all the disturbing hints. Dante was so wonderfully creepy in a grandfatherly way. I forgot the way he tried to get Clarke's trust by giving her paper and pencils to draw and compared himself to Clarke, saying they have so much in common because they're both leaders and artists. Uuugh. This is an interesting relationship - she'll end up murdering him and killing all his people, but she must have internalized the idea they were similar, because she adopted his line "I bear it so they don't have to" as her mantra.

Clarke looks so amazing, is this her best look ever? (Though I also like her S5 look.) But she's also peak Clarke in other ways - determined, proactive, not swayed by comfort and lies and refusing to drink the Koolaid like the others, not a naive girl anymore, but she still hasn't lost her moral certainty or become emotionally closed off. And then by the end of this season, she'll be emotionally broken.

But the way she doesn't give up hope that Finn and Bellamy and others are alive is so typical of Clarke, while Jasper obviously thinks to himself they're dead and that Clarke is just unable to accept it. He's not an optimist by nature.

I've always noticed the fact that she was, in S2, constantly talking about "Finn and Bellamy" and putting Bellamy on the same level of importance as her canon love interest. Here she first asks about "Finn and Bellamy" and then next about Raven. You can see the hierarchy of who are the most and the next most important of her friends. (She doesn’t ask about Octavia, BTW.)

Clarke and Jasper have so many scenes in this episode, including when they're bonding over the guilt they both feel about possibly burning their friends. It's so sad to think how this friendship will deteriorate.

Dante says that it was 56 years ago that they learned about the Grounders ("the Outsiders") and that they used to think everyone was dead. How did they survive for the first 41 years since the end of the world?

OMG, that foreshadowing: when Clarke tried to run away and was about to open the door, Jasper was yelling that she can't do that because the radioation will kill everyone inside: "Clarke, don't do this - If you pull this lever, these people will die!"

Does pretty much every major relationship on The 100 start in an antagonistic way? Bellamy and Kane already don't have a good starting point with the whole floating-your-mother thing, and here their first interaction is Kane telling Bellamy "You're not in control anymore" and arresting him for attacking and punching Murphy.

Scenes between Raven and Murphy were really good. Murphy has his first lines that I really liked: after she tries to shoot him the moment she sees him: “I would have shot me too”, and then an explanation why he came to her: “I don’t want to die alone”. I bet that this is where when the writers decided to turn him into more sympathetic character, so we learned his tragic family backstory. It's interesting that he kind of apologizes to Raven for the first time, but then kind of takes it back “That’s what you want to hear, isn't it?”Almost like he wanted to, but then couldn't bring himself to it. He'll only really apologize to her in season 4.

People call Murphy a cockroach, but many almost-deaths has Jaha survived? Just in season 1, he survived an assassination attempt in which he was severely wounded, wanted to die in the culling but Kane changed his mind, survived another assassination attempt, and almost sacrificed himself in the season 1 finale. That was his most heroic and useful moment ever, bringing the Ark to the ground. And then, as it usually happens when characters try to have a redemptive death, he doesn't die. And as it happens every time a character has a big heroic moment, the show brings them down in the following season(s) and they go on to make big mistakes and/or do bad/antiheroic things.

Lincoln tries to teach Octavia the Grounder speech and says "Only our warriors speak English". But he's a healer, and so is Nyko, who also speaks English, and then later we meet Niylah, a trader and definitely not a warrior, and flamekeepers, and random villagers in season 3 - and they all speak English...Either he lied, or the writers forgot or changed their mind.

Remember when Octavia saw mutant person and was terrified? They never really did much with that, though I guess it could be foreshadowing for the introduction of Emori (and that other guy whose name I don't remember).

Timeline: Pretty much immediately after the S2 finale - maybe hours later?

Body count: 1 Delinquent killed by Tristan, Tristan shot by Kane, 1 Grounder shot by Raven,

That means there are 53 surviving Delinquents (plus Bellamy and Raven) – the 48 at Mount Weather, and 5 more – Octavia, Murphy, Finn, Monroe and Sterling

i know this is long as HELL so there will be a tl;dr at the end for those who dont have the time to read it or just dont want to.

disclaimer 1: screenshots will be added to this as theyre located. a lot of this persons accounts/messages have been deleted, so some are hard to find, unfortunately.

disclaimer 2: no witch-hunting of this individual is encouraged. this is merely a warning to people who interact with them and something to document and fully address their lies over the past three or so years.

a little context:

this callout regards an individual who will be referred to as “regan” and they/them for the duration of this post to avoid confusion. a list of their known aliases is located here.

they currently go by alayne, and are most active on quotev, where their most recent urls are @jonestxwn (which is super disrespectful already lol) and @yearzer0. their old tumblr is @colacans, but if they have a new one, im unaware of it.

all victims names have been changed to preserve their privacy. here is a list of people mentioned:

gail: gail refers to the main victim of regans manipulation and their partner of several years. they started dating some time in 2015 or 2016. the broken heart emoji in some screenshots refers to gail. gails alters are also changed to “gail” for privacys sake.

jake: jake is another victim of regans, albeit a more minor one. jake met regan in 2015 and started dating them. jake is also often lied about as regan. the game controller emoji in some screenshots refers to jake.

skylar: ex-qpp/partner of regans. last testimonial is from them.

taylor: an ex friend of regans who theyd had various and sundry drama with over the 3 years of bs.

jay: an ex of regans that they parted on rough terms with.

gail and jake:

this is, without a doubt, the most important part of the callout, and unfortunately the part with the least viable screenshots, due to deletion of accounts/messages. gail has since deleted most of her messages from regan, but the ones that ive found/been given screenshots of are here (with gails explicit permission).

gail:

regan was incredibly shitty to gail during their 2-3 year relationship. i would go so far as to say regan was abusive. as will be seen in the actuallydivine section, regan blames a great deal of things on gail, and has never permanently taken the blame for anything in their rocky relationship; it has always, according to regan, been something wrong with gail.

here are some examples of regan exhibiting abusive behaviour (tormenting gail because its “funny”), admitting to their own shitty behaviour, and mentioning cheating on her. its interesting to note they were also dating jake at this time, but they cared about him so little they didnt even mention the effect cheating might have on him.

i find it interesting that regan admits to being shitty towards gail as far back as 2016, but has gone back to claiming they did nothing and that gail is the one at fault. perhaps it is a bit far to claim that regan is a pathological liar, but with their behaviour, i would not be entirely surprised.

another thing to mention regarding gail is that regan claimed gail pushed them into the habit of regan calling gail “daddy,” and then saying they were ace and it made them uncomfortable in the first place, when nothing could be farther from the truth. regan has publicly in front of their followers, almost 100% of whom were minors, talked about their R*PE KINK, and often called gail daddy unprompted on the feed and elsewhere. before anyone comes for me, im not claiming that they couldnt be asexual, but i am doubtful because of the fact theyve claimed that once or twice before and decided they werent, AND because of the fact they only used it to pin the blame on gail for this.

this doesnt even touch on the amount of times they threatened to kill themself.

jake:

regan and jakes relationship went as such: they met in 2015, when jake was 13 and regan was 16, and started dating. hopefully you can understand what is wrong with that, as a relationship with that age gap is ILLEGAL in every u.s. state. there was sexual conduct involved, making regan (arguably) a child predator. there is also a statement that regan dated another 13 year old when they were 17, but that is as yet unproven and the 13 year old in question is not contactable to confirm this. to the best of my knowledge, both of their current partners are also minors, despite the fact they are 19 as of october 2018.

regan was also extremely shitty to jake during this time, constantly “bullying” him (their own words) in a way that they found funny, but was clearly extremely upsetting to jake. they also pushed him aside for at least half of their relationship, as they were poly and their other partners (mostly gail) were more their focus.

above is a conversation between jake and regan. regan came to him and asked him “what [they] ever did to [him]” and after respondingg and explaining why exactly he had beef with them, he discovered that them saying they wanted “no drama” was absolutely bs, as they had been posting a psa trying to get he and gail deleted for no reason that same day. afterwards, regan messaged jake asking for a truce, which jake refused, as he was furious with them and felt that they were not in a position to ask for a truce when they were doing things like this just hours before.

misc:

this is mostly just them talking shit, but some of the stuff they say is clearly lies if you consider evidence. they constantly paint themself as the victim when they are a 19 year old abuser who takes advantage of people regularly.

(this last screenshot refers to jake changing his username to a pun based on the phrase “lies and slander”; its unclear whether regan sent this pretending to be someone else, or had someone they know send it.)

i think its also interesting to note that this screenshot and later ones where regan is friends with jake are taken merely a month apart, and then, two months later, theyre back on their bs. something about that seems super fake to me.

actuallydivine:

regardless of your opinion on actuallydivine, if you look at the lies section, you can see regan blaming gail for all their actuallydivine stuff and saying it was all a lie. yeah. bs.

mental illness:

i know this is a bit of a controversial subject, but a lot of stuff regan said/did concerning mental illness (ESPECIALLY involving their system/alters) was really shitty imo.

this is a good example of something shitty they did alter-wise. this was something they claimed OVER AND OVER AGAIN, saying shitty things they did were always their evil headmates, and constantly killing off and creating new headmates (that were mostly actually just them under a new name) as an excuse for their behaviour and a way to reset for being a shitty person.

heres them listing their mental illnesses. now, if you look in the lies section, regan says they faked their headmates (aka their osdd), so thats more proof theyre a liar. they also at one point bashed self-diagnosis, and yet they admit to self-diagnosing here. Hmm. something else to note is that in the first image, they seem to be claiming that their therapist diagnosed them, when diagnoses are made by psychiatrists, but that could be a simple oversight on their part.

lies:

self-explanatory, but this section is mostly regan saying or implying theyve changed and are now a better person.

as you can see in the above screenshots, all taken at different times in the last two years, theyve done this thing over and over and OVER where they claim theyve changed, theyre better, something has changed their view, and that is simply not the case, and never has been.

this last one is from this month (october 2018). sound familiar?

these arent so much blatant lies as it is implying theyre any different now. also, funny to acknowledge that 2015 them was a piece of shit, when they really dont act any different now.

some other ridiculous things they lied about:

their height, at least three separate times.

their zodiac sign.

killers:

regan is very much a ‘true crime’ kind of person, and i do, in some aspects, mean the fetishize-y kind. theyre borderline obsessed with serial killers, and have expressed sexual attraction for ted bundy. however, thats not the only true crime-related bullshit theyve pulled.

yeah. regans factkin with JIM JONES. and they made one of their urls “jonestxwn” like.. how disrespectful can you be? if they were a columbiner, i would not be surprised. for those who are not aware, jim jones is the cult leader who caused the jonestown massacre, which resulted in the death of 900+ people through mass suicide. its where the phrase “drinking the koolaid” comes from, as the poison was mixed with a koolaid-like product.

miscellaneous:

you thought regan could not be any more of a freak? you were wrong baybee!

even without context this is a gross thing to do. however, context makes this worse: the individual in question, while they were NOT a good person, was around jakes age, if not younger, meaning that they were at least 3 years younger than regan at the time, and were most likely probably 13-14, judging by the time period when regan was interacting with them, so regan was 3-4 years older than this individual when they manipulated and fake dated them.

just gross. its of note that regan turned 18 in 2017, so they were an adult or close to being an adult when they said this.

hmm. kind of fetishize-y, but not the worst thing ive seen from regan.

GROSS? stay away from children.

honestly this ones just funny all things considered.

this isnt the only time theyve referred to themself as a fujoshi, and some of those times were when they identified as female. yikes!

yet another one thats just funny. they are genuinely a narcissist, and regularly refer to themself as some kind of genius (not to mention their god complex, which THEY THEMSELF refer to as such).

another one like that mentioning their headmates and the fact they are, and i quote, “the smartest person alive.” come bless us mortals with your 300 iq, o god regan.

they were also into ddlg but i have no screenshots of that, as after a certain period, they prefaced a lot of their posts with stuff like “hehe im not into ddlg but i sure love calling my partner daddy!” despite having said, and i quote, “ddlg is my main kink,” at one point.

another point against them, which i have proof for but didnt feel was relevant enough to this: they love tearzah, and claimed to have been in a relationship with them. although tearzah (and melanie martinez... AND reinagoth) are people who they are a massive hypocrite about, as they acknowledged they were shitty and refused to support them, and then, mere months later, decided “nevermind, dont care, i love them xoxo.”

i apologize for getting kind of unprofessional at the end, but this is a subject im emotionally involved in. again, i DONT advocate witch-hunting of this individual. theyre a shitty person but harassing them will do nothing constructive.

spreading this would be appreciated, though, as this person is genuinely a danger to those around them and has continued to lie about gail and jake up until extremely recently, if they are not still doing so.

tl;dr:

regan is an abusive person who takes advantage of minors, blames the people they abuse, and constantly lies about everything they can, among a plethora of other shitty-but-less-unforgivable things.

(bit of a side note here, but the girls r convinced daniel and david r related so they call him uncle david)

OKAY! so, daniel never tells the girls what ascension actually means dying, so when they’re told their dad is no longer around (they’re 7 so they soften the blow a bit by avoiding the d word) they’re just like “oh he’s with zeemug and mommy now!”

but they also think that since daniel and gen r gone (let me have my rarepair) that they also have to ascend, and they pull a daniel and make poisoned koolaid (cherry flavor this time tho cause lexi’s allergic to the grape). they almost succeed in drinking it (”dottie this stuff smells gross” “i followed daddy’s recipe tho so it’s right!”) but david catches them just in time (he overheard a couple campers talking about the twins and their weird smelling drink) and explains that their dad is actually dead.

after that the twins just hang on to each other, more or less scared that they have to go back to the church after the camp is over

(and because dadvid is literally my favorite thing to come out of the fandom)

david more or less refuses to send the girls to live with some strangers, especially because of their religion, and is basically their guardian after camp is over

Week 25

Date: 7/12/18

How Far Along: 25W+2 Sex: Boy! Weight Gain: IDK... I have an appointment on Monday which will give me an update. At my last appointment I was up 6 pounds. I wouldn’t be surprised if I was at the 10-12 pound point.

Stretch Marks: Just the boobs still

Maternity Clothes: Yes, and I got super lucky on getting some cheap stuff. The Boston Store is going out of business and all of their maternity stuff was on sale for 75% off. so I got 3 dresses, 3 tops, and a nursing bra for less than $100! Sleep: Still not great, I’m waking up super hot in the middle of the night, but my husband is cold so he turns off the fan and them I’m all hot and sweaty. My dog also refuses to let me sleep in past 7am, so that’s fun... Best Moment This Week: He kicks pretty much all of the time, which is super fun. I enjoy getting to know he is in there and doing well. Otherwise it’s been a chill week, well except for the dreaded glucose test...

Worst Moment This Week: Guys. the glucose tolerance test. No one warned me. I think people tend to go on the side of not warning since there is a reputation for it sucking. So I went in knowing that it wasn’t going to taste as bad as expected, which was true. I got to the lab around 7:45am the day I turned 25 weeks. Since I usually have a sugary breakfast I decided to not eat that morning so I wouldn’t have extra glucose in my system. I had a choice between orange and lemon-lime. I heard the orange was better, so I went with that. It was like off brand koolaid, mixed with off brand jello. I’m not a good “chugger” so getting it all done in 5 minutes wasn’t fun, but I did it. About 10 minutes later I started getting nauseous and my stomach was hurting. I drank some water and took some deep breaths. At this point I have friends on social media telling me they failed or passed out and I’m all panicking. I’m feeling terrible and know I won’t be able to do this a second time. At about the 20-40minute time frame I started feeling better. I was listening to my favorite podcast (My favorite Murder, SSDGM Murderinos!) and playing on my phone. About the 45 minute mark the nausea hit again, and it was worst. I knew if I puked before they took my blood it would count as an auto fail and that wasn’t going to happen, I couldn’t do this again! Finally the hour was up and they called me in to take my blood. My biggest fear was puking while they took my blood, but I didn’t! I was officially done and could leave. I decided I wanted a bagel and headed to Panera. Halfway there I got REAL QUEASY. I take a detour because I know I can’t make it to the restaurant. I take the first road I can find, pull over in front of some poor persons house, and puke up all the nasty orange gunk. It. Was. Miserable. I’ll leave all the gory details, but it was not fun. I drive myself home and still feel terrible. My stomach is completely a wreck and I’m dealing with it from all directions... I end up taking the day off and napping and resting the rest of the day....

On the plus side, I passed! So I don’t have to do that ever again! But, my God, when my friends get to this point in their pregnancy I’m warning them. That shit is ROUGH. Miss Anything: We went out this weekend and not being able to order a drink is still a bummer. BUT we had brunch sunday and the place had fancy lemonaids, so it was like I got a cocktail, but not. love a good mocktail! Movement: Yep, he likes to move around. I’m hoping on Monday they will be able to tell me which direction he is facing so I can get an idea of what parts are “kicking” me. who knows, he could just be head butting me all the time!

Symptoms: Just still tired and in pain most of the time. My legs are pretty achy all the time. It’s like I ran a couple miles every day... which clearly isn’t happening! haha

Cravings: Nothing really. I’m into suckers and ice cream still. But there is nothing that I just HAVE TO HAVE. Queasy or Sick: Neither, feeling good (except for that damn glucose test!) Have You Started To Show Yet: Had a stranger ask how far along I was, I told them 25 weeks. her response: “wow, I’m surprised you’re showing that much already!” rude. and the hubs says I’m just “carrying big”. So, yes. I’m clearly showing a lot. But it’s all belly, so I’m trying not to complain. I’ve always been small framed and never had to worry about my body, so it’s a weird feeling not fitting into clothes and feeling large for me. Labor Signs: I think I’m getting braxton hicks now. The last two days in the evening I have had this weird tightness in my lower bellow that I haven’t felt before. I thought it was just ligament pain, but it only comes in waves and it’s not a pulling pain, it’s just a tight uncomfortable-ness. I’m going to ask the midwife about it next week to see if that’s what it is. Belly Button In or Out? Out Wedding Rings On or Off? Still on. I haven’t had any swelling yet so fingers crossed that continues! Happy or Moody Most of the Time: Happy I think. Much happier than earlier on in the pregnancy. A lot has changed in life (new job!) and I think that has to a lot to do with it too. Looking Forward To: I have an appointment on Monday. I haven’t had one in 4 weeks which is the longest I’ve been without either an ultrasound or appointment. My next appointment is 4 weeks after that, then I move into the every 2 week appointments. How are we only a month away from having to check on him every other week?!?! I’m just soooo ready for him to be here already!
