Tumblr media
“Y/N,” Stella clings to you, refuses to let go of you. The moment you got out of your old truck she jumped at you, crying as you came back. “You’re back.”
“Yeah,” you swallow thickly when Stella tells you how much she has missed you. For now, you will hide you still don’t know if you will stay or go back to New York. “How have you been? I know my departure was—sudden.”
“It was his fault, wasn’t it?” she chokes out, looking up at you. “Why can’t he just admit he wants to go out with you? Dad should stop being so stubborn.”
“Your father and I, we are friends and partners. It’s complicated, you know. Maybe it would be easier if I wasn’t your mom’s best friend. I think Cor—I mean your dad doesn’t know how to express his feelings. And I don’t know if it’s a good idea that I stay here.”
“Why? You are family, Y/N. Please don’t leave us again. August, he doesn’t show it but he’s missing you too. He’s as stubborn as dad,” Stella sighs when you run your hand over her hair. “Dad is an idiot for not seeing how much you care about him.”
Tumblr media
“There she is, the long-lost daughter,” Bonham smirks when you walk toward the house, Stella hot on your heels. She refused to leave your side since you are back in town, even followed you home when you tried to change clothing.
“Hi,” you let Cordell’s father wrap you in a hug. “How have things been since I’ve been gone? Do you still drive your wife crazy?” he snickers at your words.
“So, you’ve become an important FBI agent now?” he looks at you, searching your face while hoping you will come back. “I heard about Cordell and you. Why didn’t you tell me you are about to become our new daughter-in-law?”
“Bonham,” you sigh, shaking your head lightly, “this is all a misunderstanding. Cordell and I are only friends and partners.”
“Do you want to tell me you left your home, your family for a job you don’t want out of the blue? I know about the blind date and that you left town right after you canceled, the party,” he slings one arm around your shoulders to lead you into the house. “I am an old man, not blind nor stupid.”
“Love is out of the question for Cordell and me,” Bonham doesn’t say a word. He guides you into the house, biting his tongue. “Emily was the woman he loved, and it will always be her for him. I don’t think he will be able to open his heart for someone else.”
“How about we save the heavy topics for later and have dinner? Abeline made your favorite, and she made a pie to die for, Y/N,” you hate to say no to Bonham, so you nod silently, swallowing the lump in your throat. “You know, if he doesn’t man up and asks you out, I’ll handle this for him.”
“Bonham,” he laughs when you try to stop him from playing the matchmaker for you and his son. “Please don’t try to change his mind. Cordell is—”
“A stubborn man, but he has feelings for you, my dear. He’s like his old man,” Bonham ends your sentence. “Y/N, he’s a good man, with a broken heart. He just needs a little push. Let me push him if I must.”
Tumblr media
“That’s delicious Abeline,” you try to break the awkward tension in the dining room. While Stella and August won’t stop asking questions about New York, the FBI and your training Cordell sits opposite you, frowning anytime you say something, “as always.”
“Thank you, Y/N,” Cordell’s mother gives you a soft smile, offering another slice of the pie to you. “You are always welcome to join us for dinner. Cordell should invite you more often.”
“Mom,” Cordell clears his throat, eyes drifting toward you again. Tonight, he sticks to water, doesn’t even touch the beer his father offered to him. “Y/N will come around when she finds the time. She has her own life…maybe even in New York.”
“Dad,” Stella drops her fork. She grimaces, pointing her finger at you. “Do you want her to leave town again? Why don’t you ask her out? If you can go out with that other woman, you can go out with Y/N!”
“Stella,” August tries to spare you another hurtful scene. He’s grown for his age, and you give him a weak smile. “We talked about this, didn’t we?”
“Fine,” grasping for her water Stella glares at her father. “If she leaves all of us because of you, I will never forgive you.”
“I think that is enough,” Bonham speaks up. “Y/N doesn’t owe you anything, Stella. She is important to all of us, but this doesn’t mean she must stay in town and work as a Texas Ranger, not when she has the chance to become an FBI agent.”
“Grandpa,” Stella sniffs, looking at him, pleadingly. “Please. I don’t want to lose her too. He can’t ruin everything for us. Mom died because—”
“Enough,” this time you drop the fork. “It was my fault too. We arrested that man together. I was the one not wanting to give up and your mom and Jason paid the price. The guilt almost ate me up and your father was the one catching my fall,” you admit, pushing the tears away.
“What?” Stella inhales sharply. She always believed you are like Wonder Woman. Invincible and strong-willed. “But—but you seem so strong and…”
“Even the mightest people fall sometimes. It’s no shame to accept help from someone,” you clear your throat, eyes drifting toward Cordell. You know he’s ashamed Geri called you and that you saw him drunk once again. “Some people might say you are even stronger for accepting help.”
Tumblr media
“Hi—erm, can I help you?” watching you clean the dishes Cordell awkwardly stands in the kitchen. “Mom said the dishwasher needs fixing. Let me lend you a hand.” He stands behind you to subtle sniff at your hair.
You can feel his chest press against your back when he tries to take the first plate out of your hand. “I—I can do this,” voice a little shaky you try to focus on the warm water soaking your hands, not the heat coming out of Cordell’s body. “How about you go back and chat a little or something.”
“Y/N, will it always be like that from now on? I want you to look at me the way you did before you left for New York,” he begins. “Please at least look at me. Even if you give me a dirty look. Just talk to me.”
“Do you think you are the only person thinking about shit all the time,” you place the plate back into the sink. “I think about Jason and Emily all the fucking time,” you turn around to jab your finger into his chest.
“Baby girl,” you whimper at the pet name. “I’m sorry—” he runs his large hands up and down your arms to calm you. “I should have stayed away from you, but I can’t. Y/N, I feel guilt too.” You huff at his words, not believing he feels sorry at all.
“Oh, you feel guilty for fucking me?” you retort, letting out a frustrated huff. “Do you know why I feel guilty, huh?” he shakes his head, swallowing thickly when tears well up to your eyes. “I feel guilty for getting them killed. I feel guilty for fucking my best friend’s husband. I feel guilty for hiding whatever we have from our families and friends. And I feel guilty for wanting you so bad that I can’t think straight when you are close to me.”
“Baby girl,” he gently cups your face, stroking your skin with his thumbs, “I’m so sorry for being an insensitive asshole. I should’ve told you how I feel a long time ago.” His lips softly press against your forehead, and you sigh deeply, hating he makes you feel weak all over again. “Please, give me a chance to show you I can be better.”
“I need to…I need to go,” you duck under his arm to escape the painful situation. Before you flee out of the house you look back over your shoulder to give Cordell one last glance. “Give me a few days to sort my thoughts, Cord. I just can’t be with you right now.”
Tumblr media
“Hey, Ems,” you sit in front of your friend’s grave. “Do you think I should go back to New York? I-I know it’s wrong to love your husband, but I can’t stop my heart from beating only for him.” you sniff, wiping your eyes. “Shit, I can still feel his hands on me. He’s just—fuck. Cordell gets under my skin, Emily.”
Silence is a good friend tonight, so you sit there in front of her grave, drinking your favorite beer. “Do you remember when we first met? I thought you hate me, and you believed I am too cool to hang out with you. But the truth is, back then, I thought you are the coolest girl I ever met.”
“Shit, I wish you were here with me, Emily. I swear, nothing would’ve happened between me and Cordell if you were here. I could’ve never done such a shady thing,” you sip at your beer, sighing deeply.
“...and even now, I think about him and his fucking hands. God, his hands all over me and his lips against my throat. I love when he calls me baby girl. It drives me crazy, and I believe that I will lose my mind.”
Tumblr media
“Coming,” Cordell grumbles, reluctantly opening the door to his house. “Y/N?” he gasps when you grab his shirt to bring him down for a messy kiss. “Baby girl.”
“Just shut up,” cupping the back of his neck, you kiss him again, this time slow and gentle. “I-I don’t know what to do. I only know that I want you.”
“I want you too—” you find yourself in his arms, your legs around his waist as he carries you inside his house. “Let me show you how much, baby girl…”

Kat’s Bjelland’s 12 Favorite Songs interview - text sourced from here, a now defunct fansite created by “hersir.” Date and publication source unknown
The Replacements - Unsatisfied "It was played 20 times a day. It was always on our turntable. What does it make me think of? Paris. Perfume. An empty Fillmore Street Victorian flat. San Francisco Haight Street. Being very poor. No cigarettes. Cockroaches. Being in a band with Courtney called Sugarbunny Farm. Jennifer throwing her bass at Courtney. Why? It had something to do with migrating to Minneapolis. That's why they wear flannel. It's cold in Minneapolis."
Hair - The Soundtrack "I went to this play with my parents in about fourth or fifth grade. I was the only kid there. I got to see the whole cast naked in the finale. When my parents went out, I'd open the drapes so I could see my bell-bottomed, head-banded reflection, dancing. They sang songs about fellatio, sodomy, cunnilingus, pederasty, drugs; that song "Frank Mills"! I loved it. All that I wanted then was to be a hippy like my mom."
K-Tel - Haunted House Sounds "This was my very first LP. My father obviously didn't realise how cat's screeching, ladies screaming in terror, aliens landing and psychotic laughter could infect/affect and scare little minds. At the time I was really into staring myself down in the mirror until I left my body, then I'd just jerk back and forth to this record or turn into some scary-faced creature. I was grounded a lot but I flew around inside my head."
Rush - 2112 "I was very metal then. Judas Priest, Scorpions, Maiden, Girlschool, Ozzy. Shut up - at least I'm honest! "Cygnus X-1" on "Farewell to the Kings" fairly ruled. Also, no girls I knew really liked Rush, only boys, they sang about weird lands and mystical places."
Miracle Workers - Inside Out "Sixties garage kings, loving it, looking it, the whole part. I dyed my hair black. Matt Rogers from the band helped me pick out my Rickenbacker, inspired me a lot and turned me on to so many bands like the Cramps, plus "Pebbles" compilations, old Fender equipment, tube amps, old pedals....the whole deal. Plus they were the coolest live band ever, except for...."
The Wipers - Alien Boy - Positive Negative "Portland, Oregon, where I was living, was pretty great for bands in the early Eighties. Sage is the perfect last name for The Wiper's Greg. G S = Genius Sage. He taught me about feedback and had a real honest singing style and stage persona. They were my favourite band, and the music reeks of Portland back then. His solo stuff is a definite depression inducer. Perfect."
The Cars - Candy 0 "That song drove me all over Woodburn, Oregon. I was 15 years old. The Dragstrip! Muscles. Cars. Sneaking out at nights. Skipping school. Sex. Keggers, bongs and puke. No, I wouldn't care to explain that."
Kiss - Destroyer "I had the biggest Kiss poster you could get. Me and Alfredo Garcia would open the windows before recess so we could sneak back in and air-guitar to Kiss. I had to be Gene Simmons, God of Thunder: all that is evil is good. The God of Thunder himself said to Maureen that she had a "nice bottom". As in bass. A Rock Pig Joke."
Pixies - Surfer Rosa "Pop sensibility without compromise. Nice spaces and dynamics. Sorta scientific. Great production, great songs. Kim Deal's voice! I love The Breeders. "Pod" is great - beautiful songwriting! I wrote our track "Vomit Heart", after listening to that record.
The Rolling Stones - Exile On Main Street "Acid. I was having my heart ripped out by a guy whose last name was actually Letcher, which inspired most if not all of "Spanking Machine". Depression and wallowing around in it for too long. Stitches. Bandages."
Sonic Youth - Sister "Courtney owed me some money, the exact cost of this record, so she bought it for me. I'd only heard the "Kill Yr Idols" '45, with Kim screaming. I felt reassured after that and realised I actually was writing "songs". I hadn't grasped the concept of "No Rules" right away."
Staple Sisters - Uncloudy Day "It reminds me of living in London. Being in love in a different country. Eating too many eggs. "Old Matey". Manor House. James (Johnston, Gallon Drunk singer and ex-beau) bought me this record. It's so beautiful it makes me cry. I listened to it when I found out that my mom had died. That line "Tell Heaven I'm Coming Home" hurts my heart."

So I have never played fortnite. I will probably never play fortnite. But I DID make the mistake of watching a Taliesin Jaffe (41 yrs old) and Matt Mercer (36 yrs Old) attempt to play it, straight after reading Super Sons.
Which now means, all I wanna see, is Clark Kent going up against Bruce Wayne, with Jon and Damian frantically cheering them on/berating them from the side lines. Because if you are 12 years old, this is how you REALLY find out who is better, Batman or Superman.
Clark decides that he's just going to build things and collect items that might be useful. He hasn't really got the hang of the whole, last-man-standing vibe. He'd rather team up with people and work together! His username is probably something like "I_heart_Krypto" since all variations of "Superman" were taken. He loves seeing all the people running around in Superman costumes. Though it is a little bizarre to be killed by someone wearing your work clothes. Jon tries to give advice but it's mostly just yelling and head desking when his dad is, yet again, taken out by another sniper.
Bruce, takes the batman approach. He pays for all the coolest gear and the most sleek outfit. He notices that, even though Damian claims he has never played the game, there is are several transactions on the Wayne Account for the game. He notices there is a Batman costume that he suggests buying. Damian's insistence that it is a ridiculous outfit nobody should ever buy, is not a good enough lie to get past the world's greatest detective. Despite his obvious disapproval of using guns to kill people, he has no problem throwing grenades, smoke bombs, building forts and taking people out from the shadows. It's just a game, after all. And it seems to fulfil that in-built need Damian has when it comes for blood shed. If it keeps it at bay, it can't be that bad. Plus, it's something they can enjoy together.
The boys set up headsets, and trash talk each other. The dads are too busy focussing on the game, but Clark tries his best to say something every now and then. Bruce is silent. It sort of unnerves Clark more.
The main goal, is just to see who lasts longer. And really, neither of them do. Clark's tatic of "build your own Fortress Of Solitude" works pretty well, but it's nowhere enough to get them to the top 10. Bruce got Top 5 once, pretty much by sheer luck.
The REAL MVP though? Lois Lane. She has the record is the Kent Vs Wayne contest for times comming first, with Cassandra a close second.
Jason has his own account, and keeps an eye out for when they're online. He is infamous for taking Bruce out at the last moment, preventing him from moving forward. Bruce knows it's him, but doesn't say anything, because in a way, it's nice to see him participating in family night activities.
Tim and Steph once hacked the game to give Damian's character a pink rhinestone Red Robin outfit that he couldn't get rid off for a week.

House MD season 2
30 second episode recaps from someone whos just watched em for the first time and has bad recall
Ep1: they gotta cure the death row dude so he can go back to death row to b killed, cameron is Bad at telling ppl they're dying, house n Wilson had lunch with the coma guy, they cured death row man, also they changed the theme and I hate it Ep2: House has hayfever lmao, this cancer girl with hallucinations is honestly just the coolest she's so positive I love her, shes nine and got chase to kiss her hero,, house an Wilson have a shared balcony amazing, Wilson is so good and pure and is amazing at his job holy shit I love this man. House actually 'temporarily killed' the patient to cure her and made people run drills on a dead man. House is 400% going to buy a motorbike Ep3: i prayed for Cuddy's handyman to fall off her roof past the window and then god answered my prayers and he did, house broke into Cuddy's house mainly to look at her underwear lbr and then won the 'can we chop off his arm' argument, house secretly speaks spanish and waited for the most dramatic moment to reveal this, they gate crashed a cock fight (ayy) and saved the patient Ep4: the patient is a doctor with an ego ((according to house lmao pot, kettle)) who wanted to sit in on the diagnostic process and honestly is actually full of himself,, house puts him on a tippy table and cranks it up, foreman made a patient cry except he was pretending to be house lmao house got in shit,, Cameron needs to stop please, can the patient get his head out his arse please. house gatecrashes the press conference that the patient called and managed to put him into cardiac arrest on live television and eventually cured him of everything cept bein a knob Ep5: Wilson's handwriting is such doctor handwriting and house definitely bought a motorbike and made Wilson pay for it he's so pleased with himself. The kid keeps getting electrocuted but like,, by his own body. House is avoiding his parents but Cameron n Wilson aren't letting him get away with it. I love house n Wilson's friendship so much it's worth 5k apparently lmao. These patients are fukin serial liars jc why are ppl like this, it was rADIATION wow houses dad is a fucking DICK. There were so many good interactions and the house/wilson ship is sailing Ep6: there was a cyclist who took a LOT of drugs which turned out to be curing him of the thing he had, house is a douchebag but we all knew that - he may b a dick to mark but m sure mark deserves it n I love him anyway. Wilson remains a sweet boy even if he cheats idgaf he's adorable look at him ((wilson: i net someone who made me feel funny, me: was it hOUSE)),, he n house are balcony buddies and house shud stop stealing his food, and he should definitely stop digging thru stacys life but actually fuck it why not he's not gunna let go of this why is she so pissy i wanna know Ep7: I love houses new pet rat Steve McQueen,, Wilson is 4000% done with houses Stacy related antics which is fair tbh he should stop but I actually don't give much of a shit about Stacy I've taken against her....he did deserve what she said after reading her file tho. The patient may have given Cameron aids and Cameron got high and slept with Chase, who she may have given aids lmao these ppl r messes but not as much of a mess as that father/son relationship jc...i dont remember anything else about the patient whoops Ep8: chase is being suuuueeeeddd and he keeps lying about why lmao,, house fuckin reamed him one which was probably called for but maybe not like that, turns out chase screwed up cus his dad died and foreman is houses boss ((supervisor)) now how well do u think that's gunna work (((not very))) Stacy's still a bitch and has ~~feelings~~ Ep9: foreman is in charge and house is doing his utmost best to be the dick of the year and it's fucking hilarious honestly I love this man the shit he pulls jc,,, Wilson is super aware of houses antics as usual and had a mild gay panic when foreman started to question him about house,, the patient was a big ol Faker™ but surprise surprise she was actually sick this time ((house totally injected her with a load of stuff so she’d b readmitted after they’s released her)) Ep10: house solved a case thru the phone alone and spent most of the ep at the airport except for those five minutes when he almost slept with Stacy who once had a terrible experience with curry apparently and called house a vindaloo, nice restraint very well timed phone call thank fuck,,, they will sleep together tho and I am Not Happy about it....the power play amongst the fellows is a boiling pot of trouble - the patient was v interesting I enjoyed the word scramble game Ep12: WHAT A GOOD FUCKIN EP so the patient orgasmed in the white chamber while unconscious and covered in burns but more importantly house gatecrashed the lecture of his old archenemy that he had arranged just so he could disturb it and criticise the dude who got him thrown out of med school for snitchin on his cheating all whilst Wilson told him to get better hobbies (('a hooker anything please')),, to test this dudes migraine meds he gave deliberately himself a migraine and the meds didn't work (unsurprising) so the fellows turned out all the lights while he had a nap under the table,, wilson took a diff approach and deliberately made a Lot of noise because he is a Shit even if he hides it better than house,,,, then house dropped a tab of acid and took a bunch of antidepressants, and cured his migraine as well as the patient Ep13: houses leg was super duper sore but at least we got some fantastic house/wilson interaction when wilson pretended to be God during that MRI, even if house hit him with a cane.... The patient was a teen supermodel who seduced her own father to get whatever she wanted,, house was super sure she had cancer and it turns out she did but it was testicular because she had xy chromosomes and was immune to testosterone - which was really fucking interesting...... Also cuddy played house like a violin and gave him placebo saline instead of a morphine shot to prove to him that his leg pain was psychological Ep14: House is stealing organs now. Ok so technically he did get the husband's permission to steal his newly dead wife’s heart for the dying old dude with a strangely young daughter but only after he kneed house in the balls super hard. House spent the whole ep goin on at wilson about the affair he thought he was having and at the end wilson showed up on houses doorstep but sURPRIse !! It was his wife who was sleeping around!! poor baby Wilson I know what goes around comes around but he's such a kicked puppy cmon Ep15: Wilson and house living together is a recipe for disaster and I'm living for it so good so many good interactions I love that house is gunna keep him for his food ((I'll never b over house hearing the voicemail about Wilson's new place, looking over at him sleeping on the couch and then deleting it so he has to stay)). The patient had a super cool marriage and didn't have lupus except whoops actually not a happy marriage his wife is tryna kill him thru gold poisoning. House needs to stop accosting ppl in bathrooms and should also stop destroying marriages Ep16: oh man good shit so,, first of all house n Wilson are still living together and there are some Domestic Antics happening right here including but not limited to a prank war which house desperately tried to get Wilson to participate in, the peak of which had house making Wilson wet the couch and Wilson sabotaging houses cane. The patients mum was ridiculously overprotective and house essentially kidnapped the patient to find the tick noone else thought was there,, surprisingly Wilson helped set that up despite the fact house was the reason he woke up wet that morning Ep17: first things first house could absolutely clean everyone out at poker if he knows Cuddy's tells that well through just a phonecall,, also he needs to stop calling Wilson out on his toenail varnish habits lmao. The patient was a smol boy who presented the same symptoms as an unsolved and dead case that house had 12 yrs ago so he really wasn't gunna let this one go cus he's like a dog with a bone. They were in formal wear all ep which was a Good Look™ and Wilson's retelling of how he won the poker championship may have been one of the cutest things I have ever seen Ep18: Emma from Glee is here and she has the black plague,, her gf decided to donate her liver n Cameron was all het up cus house had worked out plague girl was gunna leave her and sending the gf in blind would be ~~unethical~~ but turns out she knew and deliberately did that so Emma would stay with her out of guilt lmao. In other news Cameron's pissy cus foreman 'stole' her article and house spent most of the episode napping cus wilson is fuckin up his sleep cycle ;) I'm upset there was no physical wilson Ep19: the most annoying patient so far appears in the form of a 15 yr old faith healer with herpes. I feel like the degree to which unrelenting niceness irritates me rly says something about me but eh oh well. Chase (ofc it was chase) kept a tally on who was winning God or house, faith healer managed to shrink a womans cancer tumour through giving her herpes (((a miracle praise be))) and during poker night house called wilson out on sleeping with said cancer patient and discovered wilson was actually living with her whoops bad Wilson ((he totally regrets his life choices ((he should)))) Ep20: HOLY SHIT ITS A TWOPARTER AND FOREMANS GUNNA DIE !! Ok so,,, there was this cop who couldn't stop laughing till he could but then it got a lot worse and then foreman caught whatever it was which they began to realise when he smirked as house shot a corpse to see what a bullet in a brain would do to an MRI ((spoilers it broke the machine)) anyway long story short it wasnt the pigeons and the cops dead and foreman is gunna die even after that shitdick move he pulled where he stabbed Cameron with a needle so she'd go to the apartment Ep21: HOO BOY OK SO a lot happened so much happened the most important thing is foreman by the end of the ep is mostly kind of ok - he's just a bit muddled on his lefts n rights. During the ep house was stressed the entire time cus even tho he denys it he does love n care for his ducklings,, he even cares enough to deliberately attempt to poison Steve McQueen which didn't work but can be added to the list of stressful events. Cameron grew a spine a lil bit I literally yelled when she berated cuddy and she forced the biopsy cus foreman had the foresight (ayyyyy) to make her his medical proxy even if house managed to find the problem anyway so it was ultimately unnecessary and has just resulted in some possible brain damage Ep22: house keeps trying to pick a fight with foreman and failing because Foreman's all happy go lucky now, the patient was mad because of a thing and killed her baby accidentally on purpose, the music that played during the baby autopsy was super unnecessary and bizzare, and in the end the woman had cancer but she's refusing treatment cus of the baby guilt. Cuddy didn't have cancer, which we know because Wilson ((WILSON NOT HOUSE)) stole her dna and ran secret tests in the middle of the night, but it still wasn't a date Wilson despite what house said about skin lessions she was actually just going to attempt to use u as a sperm donor - have fun at the L-word marathon with house you big sad loser (I love u) Ep23: we meet an old house friend which is Super fun he is ridiculously naive and I love that he calls house g-man holy shit. House is now giving cuddy injections as part of a fertility treatment which is nice of him especially seeing as his leg was in a Lot of pain this ep,, like a LOT...he's self-injecting morphine now which is probably bad :/ house's friend's daughter was the patient at one point she pooped out her mouth gRoSs and house ran a paternity test n told the girl she was actually the dudes daughter ((except he was lYINg in support of his friend)) he does care Ep24: HOUSE GOT SHOT WHAT IS IT WITH THIS TEAM SUFFERING RN JC this was a very fun episode of 'guess when house is hallucinating', spoilers the answer is all the time the whole ep takes place in his head. That aside I absolutely loved the hospital gown/trainer combo (no I won't apologize) and the fact that house did almost none of his physio - instead relegating it to others which is....not how it works. The hallucinatory clinic patient was freaky deaky his eye exploded and so did his dick but dw cus to escape the hallucination house killed him ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ what can u do. At the end house woke up n requested ketamine we'll see how that goes

Our Anasazi Experience Pt. 1: Ivie’s Interview
I have sat down countless times to write this blog post, and it was like my fingers just wouldnt work. I have had so many emails from parents that are worried and families that are in crisis that I know it’s time to share something. Even if we’re still close to it, even though we dont have a 20/20 perspective yet, and even though we are still very much finding our footing and working through stuff.
I know that this is a very public forum. Sharing this is something that we decided as a family. We arent putting our daughter “on blast”. She very bravely opened up about going to Anasazi before we even considered sharing it. I dont know about you but at 16 I was for sure not woke enough to know that sharing the hard thing I’m struggling with could lighten someone else’s burden. As a mother there is nothing in this world that I could be more proud of her for.
This post like all of the posts we share about our story with addiction, is about hope. I mean, what’s the point of going through rough stuff if in the end it doesnt help anyone? Here is our experience. We hope with our whole hearts that it can help one of you!
Our 16 yr old daughter was struggling. Without going into to too much detail (honestly it’s irrelevant now that we’ve experienced Anasazi) we were completely lost with how to help. For years we had tried all of the things that people suggested and it just wasnt helping her. Knowing what I know now, there was no way that she could change without our family changing as well, but that is what we kept trying to do. Change her, fix her. The reality is that our whole family was in crisis. We ALL needed to be changed.
I had some pretty inspired revelation that she needed to go to the Anasazi wilderness program. (You can read more about that here!)
The Anasazi Foundation is a non-profit wilderness therapy program for teens and adults. It is grounded in Native American traditions and outdoor survivalist methods. Anasazi has their own language for stuff, so as I use it I’ll make sure to clarify what it means! The YoungWalkers (as the kids are called) live in the wilds of Arizona for 7-8 weeks and it is one of the most inspired programs I have ever experienced. They are taken out of the world and given tools that help them see themselves differently.
Those that have been following along for a while know that Court and I LOVE the LDS 12 Step program, I love Anasazi just as much. It is inspired and saved our family. In fact we love and believe in it so much that every single one of our kids will be going, whether they are struggling or not.
The incredible thing about Anasazi is that it isnt just sending your kid off to get “fixed”. As parents and family members we are also doing really intense work. Even though we’re not physically walking like they are, we are walking in our hearts right along with them. They have a powerful workshop that you get to attend when you drop your Youngwalker off that changed my whole outlook on life.
Anasazi believes that every child is good; that they have a Seed of Greatness. The Trailwalkers (the staff that lives and hikes with the Youngwalkers) are so positive. They understand the sacred responsibility that we as parents have trusted them with, and they love those kids hard. They magnify every good thing they see in that child in ways that only an outsider full of compassion and a deep desire for connection can. They see and focus on things that we as parents are missing in our every day frustrated interactions. They dont know anything about the Youngwalker’s past or situation, they go in completely open to learning about them and treating them with compassion and love.
Each Youngwalker has a Shadow (Therapist) that they meet with once a week. The Shadow goes out on the trail and has sittings (sessions) with them. Court and I also met with him via phone once a week for a report on Ive and to help us with the things that we were working on. Shadow G is part of our family forever. We love him!!
Life on the Trail
I did a little interview with Ive about what life on the trail was like. I wanted to share it from her perspective. Because TBH if I just listed the facts of what they did and didnt have, and did and didnt do, its intense. But no one has died, so that’s good right?!
After some of her answers I chime in with a little more detail/clarity, these notes will start with an asterisk*.
If someone is sending or thinking about sending their child out on the trail, what do you want them to know about it?
Um, that it sucks at first but it gets easier. Ya, it pretty much just sucks (laughs) but it’s a really good experience and you wont regret going. Send them!
In the beginning, what was the hardest thing about being on the trail?
Not being able to see my family. Not knowing anyone in my band yet.
The band is group of people that you’re stuck with. (laughs) You have to learn to like them and work together. It was hard because you dont want to be stuck in a place where you dont like the people you are around cause that makes you unhappy and its unpleasant.
There are a lot of different personalities in the band. Some people I got along with really easily and some people were harder. I met my best friend when I first walked into the office. Meeting her was the best thing of my whole life. We left on the trail together and came home at the same time. If you are going out there I would try really hard to find a friend, because some people are weird. Parents, you’ll get the stories when they get home. That’s all I’m going to say. There are lots of different reasons that people go out on the trail. Some people didnt really have a huge reason, and some were using it like rehab, most of us were somewhere in the middle.
Being in the band taught me that we have the choice to learn to love people even though you want to punch them in the ass. (laughs)
*A band is what they call the group of kids, they keep boys and girls separate. The bands range in size but aren’t larger than 9 Youngwalkers.
Tell me about the hiking.
It sucks. You hike almost every day for 2 months. But it feels so good when you get to your camp spot and you can take off your 50 pound pack and lay down…on rocks. (laughing) It’s fun when you have a friend. Hiking taught me to push through hard things. Cause when you wanted to give up you couldn’t, or else you wouldn’t get where you needed to go.
Tell me about the pack.
The pack is a pain, emotionally and physically. It’s really heavy and you have to learn to pack it. I’m making this whole experience sound really bad, IT’S GOOD I PROMISE. In my pack I had a sleeping bag, tarp, fire set, food pack, burrito, books, extra clothes, toiletries. It’s heavy as hell.
Ivie’s first week on the trail
*The pack has everything the YW needs for the week, it’s not a traditional hiking backpack like we are used to, they use the things in the pack to actually build it. Everything gets wrapped in the tarp and the straps of the pack are made out of the burrito (the burrito is a canvas cocoon with snaps, they can use it for a million different things!)
Tell me about the food.
It tastes um-not good at first, I’m like why am I eating rice? But by the end you are a gourmet chef. You get really creative with the food pack. I loved Beanie Mac, Ash Cakes with butter and brown sugar, Beans and Rice, Cheesy Beanie Rice and Cold Gold.
*Having experienced Ivie’s cooking at Family Camp I can tell you that she did in fact become a chef. They can make anything out of the food pack ingredients if they put their mind to it! She said that they talked about food a lot on the trail, and she had a list of what she wanted to eat when she came home.
Tell me about making fire.
You make fire with a bow and spindle. Its really hard and frustrating. When you very first make the fire it’s like the coolest feeling in the world. Because you’re like damn I just did that. Once you learn how to you feel like a god! Cause you’re just making fire! And once you make it you dont want to stop.
Tell me about your trail name
A trail name is a name given to you. It represents things that the Trailwalkers see in your personality or things that relate to you. Like an animal, or thing in nature. It speaks to you. I thought it was literally cool, like “Oh wow, you see that in me?” My trail name is Golden Warrior Butterfly. Golden means the I have an essence of light, Warrior means I’m loyal to my friends and family, and Butterfly means that I have the ability to change.
Tell me about the Trailwalkers
The Trailwalkers are really good people. They’re really nice and they treat you like you are their own and they care about you a lot. Some of them are really excited and happy, so you might want to prepare yourself for that. Most of them are really chill. They have different personalities and everyone finds somebody they connect with.
*The trailwalkers walk for a week with the band and then new trailwalkers come in, so the dynamic is always changing but is always full of love. We were able to talk to some of the trailwalkers when they came off after spending the week with Ive. You could feel how much they loved her and it was powerful to hear all of the wonderful things they said about her.
Tell me about your Shadow
Shadow G!! I love that guy. He was my best friend out there. We talked about everything, like, literally you could name anything and I’m positive that we talked about it. I miss him!
What was the hardest part about living on the trail?
Not being able to shower, not seeing my family, hiking everyday, sleeping on the ground and peeing my pants. That sucked really bad.
What was the funnest part about being on the trail?
When we had free days. That was the best! You just got to hang out with everyone and not hike. Cause like, when you’re hiking all the time you dont want to talk. Then youre out of breath and dont want to talk because you have to go slower or stop so you dont make it to your spot. When we had off days you could just sit and talk and get to know everyone.
Do you feel like the trail made you a different person?
Ya, I still pretty much act the same, not the bad stuff though. I dont do that anymore. It made me realize that I didnt need all that stuff I was doing before. It also make me realize that there were people I didnt need in my life. So when I got home I cut all of that stuff out. Oh and not depressed anymore!
If someone has a kid that is struggling and they are worried that their kid will be mad if they go on the trail what would you tell them?
That the kid will probably be mad. (laughs) I’m not going to lie, there were a lot of people out there that were pissed at first. But if you can, don’t Goon them (Goon means you have a transport company pick them up without their knowledge and take them) It makes the kids more pissed and you’re stuck in the woods. I felt so bad for all the people that were taken like that. Tell them in advance that they are going so they can emotionally and mentally prepare.
What advice would you have for kids who’s parents are sending them on the trail?
Suck it up because it’s going to be great. It sucks, it sucks so bad. But it’s worth it in the end. Power through!
What did you learn about yourself?
That I’m pretty cool and I’m a lot stronger than I thought I was. You learn a lot about yourself and how strong you are and who you want to become.
Are you glad that you went on the trail?
Yes.
*Teenagers 🙄
How has it been since you’ve been home?
It’s been good. It’s a lot better than it was before. I mean, it is really hard coming home because you cant be around a lot of people, sound or light, I almost had a panic attack when I got home because my entire family was there and it was a lot of people. (laughs) Love you guys missed you, I promise!
How do you feel our family changed after Anasazi?
I feel like we understand each other more. We try to use our tools to get along and I dont know, it just made us all come together.
Isnt she the best?
This video of meeting her on the trail is the most special thing that I own and if it doesnt give you hope then I dont know what will!

Faces Of Oxford – Mr. M. R. Hall
Mr. M. R. Hall at work in his blacksmith shop in the Fall of 1961 – Photo by Martin Dain (c) UM Libraries
“There had been a blacksmith here in Oxford named Mr. Hall, who’d had a shop on Tyler Avenue, the alley running down from South Lamar, in a space behind both what was once the Gin and what was once Murfs. He opened the shop after returning from shoeing horses for the Army in Texas during WWI; he’d been a blacksmith since before that, learning where he’d grown up in Ripley. When I was in high school and college, I would go and hang out in his shop, where Mr. Hall welcomed any visitors.” –Tom Freeland
“Papa Hall was my great-grandfather. He raised my dad. What a precious man he was. I never heard him speak ill of anyone. He did have some pretty funny stories about William Faulkner. I used to go hang out with him all the time at his shop. He’d send me up to Fudge’s Grocery to pick up a 6 pack of Diet Rite Colas for his wife, Ms Louise.” –Bobby Jones
“I have good memories of going to Mr. Hall’s shop when I was probably 5 to 8 yrs old. My grandfather “Red” Slade was a roofer. He had Mr. Hall make or “fashion” many of the tools that he used in his trade. Most, if not all, were from scrap iron like car springs. If Reddy took me over there in the fall, we’d walk down the hill and watch ’em gin cotton.” –Joey Mistilis
“I doubt I made many trips to town, when I was younger, that I didn’t stop by to chat. Loved to hang around because he always made me feel as though he really enjoyed the visits.” –Art Leslie
“M.R. Hall was one of the finest men I have met in my life. Mr. Hall was very dedicated and had tremendous skill in shaping metals. Even in his later years, he could pick up an anvil and move it around like it was a lightweight box of tissues. One of favorite memories of Mr. Hall was when I brought him a nice mess of channel catfish when I was 15 years old. About a week later, he gave me one of the coolest gifts I have ever received. It was a handmade buffalo skinning knife he made for me. I still have it.” –Jeff Fudge
“I lived near, and loved, the Halls as a youth. My parents and the Halls were close friends, ’till they all passed on. I used to follow Mr. Hall around in his strawberry patch and garden. As a teen he loaned me a rifle to deer hunt. He was indeed an Icon of Oxford.” –Andy Mize
“My brother, Andy Waller, was a blacksmith apprentice under Mr. Hall. Andy has kept up this unique trade using things Mr. Hall passed on to him. They were great friends.” –Susan Waller Vaughan
“I have a great story about Mr. Hall. My husband Randy and I went to see him in 1977 about getting my dad’s roller on his manual push lawnmower replaced. While we were there Mr. Hall showed us his collection of knives. One was this large wicked looking circular bladed knife with the very sharp blade on the outside. He said, “This is a moose skinner’s knife.” He showed us several more and then another smaller but similar wicked looking circular knife and said, “If you can tell me what kind of knife this is I’ll give it to you. I blurted out, “a buffalo skinner’s knife.” He looked totally shocked and responded with, “Young lady, you got yourself a knife.” — Robin Katherine Herring Bibby

Melco's Billionaire Ho Sees Macau Gaming Returning to Peak
Macau, the arena’s largest gaming middle, will go back to its top in the next 5 years, stated Melco Motels & Enjoyment Ltd.’s billionaire Chairman Lawrence Ho.
Ho, who’s also vying for an online casino license in Japan, is “extremely bullish” on Macau, he said in an interview on Bloomberg Television with Haslinda Amin.
“Clearly in the subsequent 5 years, it’ll grow lower back to the $forty-five billion gaming marketplace,” said Ho, who also serves as chief govt officer. “And that’s just the gaming by myself, due to the fact the non-gaming element is significant.”
Ho’s projection is one of the most upbeat for Macau’s gaming industry, which reached its maximum annual height in 2013. The enterprise then struggled as high-stakes games stayed far away from China’s sole gaming hub amid Beijing’s corruption crackdown. The enterprise’s recuperation is now gaining traction, with gaming receipts in April rising for a ninth consecutive month.
Macau’s April online casino receipts rose 16.three percentage to 20.2 billion patacas ($2.52 billion)
Beating the median analysts’ estimate of a 15 percentage rise. April’s gain was the 1/3 consecutive month of double-digit growth for the enterprise. Casinos such as Melco and Las Vegas Sands Corp. Have shifted focus to attract casual gamblers and families, whilst excessive rollers have also returned to the tables in current months.
Ho’s $forty-five billion projection for the industry is a “manageable goal for Macau,” stated analyst Furnish Govertsen of Union Gaming Organization LLC. The healing’s sustainability will hinge on persevered, robust increase within the mass market phase that draws casual gamblers.
That sort of growth would imply around 10 percent common annual increase, which feels realistic at this factor,” said Govertsen. “The coolest information for Macau is that the authorities have anointed mass market as the destiny of Macau, and we might assume as a minimum a few stage of guide going ahead to make certain mass remains the direction Macau is headed.”
The performance of Macau’s casino stocks replicates the optimism. Bloomberg Intelligence’s index of Macau gaming stocks has expanded 22 percentage this yr, compared with the 12 percent gain in the benchmark Grasp Seng Index. stocks of recent-York indexed Melco have jumped forty-one percentage this 12 months, at the same time as the Nasdaq Composite has won thirteen percentage.

The document specifically stated that William would have to watch for three months and he could get hold of his part of the accept as true with then. But, the legal professional had been instructed no longer to examine the relaxation to William till the three months had ended.

Mumbai: Actress Nargis Fakhri says being in movies isn’t always her only intention in lifestyles and she wants to pursue different matters as well. The 37-year-old actress says she wants to meet new human beings and analyze new matters.
Appearing isn’t always the handiest thing…I need to do a lot in life. While you are on units you’re continually Acting you are not interacting with humans in lifestyles and now not mastering something new. “There’s a lot extra to examine and do different things in existence. I need to balance things by means of doing Appearing and other things,” Nargis stated.
The actress says she enjoys being a public parent but journeying and exploring specific places is her ardor.
I am a special man or woman. I like to cook dinner, plant flora, and journey. I like to live existence. I want to explore different things but no longer associated with cinema as such. I’d want to be a public personality on television or do something special,” she adds.
After doing back to back movies like Azhar, Housefull 3 and Banjo last yr, the actress has now decided to move sluggishly.

There may be a bad face as nicely.”
Acting Techniques – How to Find the Right Acting Method For You
There are so many performing techniques available. How do which acting technique is proper for you? Under are some quick tips to make sense of all of it and to assist actors to choose a performing class primarily based on the sort of performing education they want.
1) The Stanislavski Gadget
First, the word that all the predominant acting strategies presently taught in American performing schools is based on the work of Constantin Stanislavski, a Russian actor, and director who developed an acting method to help actors be actual on the degree. Here are some highlights of the Stanislavsky System you’ll need to be acquainted with as an actor:
A good way to trust inside the given situations of the play,
Stanislavsky actors use the magic if: “What if this becomes without a doubt occurring to me?” Actors smash down the script into objectives (what the man or woman wants to accomplish) and movements (what the person can do to attempt to reach his objective). Every movement is a lively verb (to help, to harm, to persuade) that allows the actor deal with doing rather than feeling. Actors learn how to relax their muscle mass and practice concentration as a way to recognition at the given situations of the play and deal with level flight. Actors get admission to their very own memories to call upon emotions had to play positive scenes and appearing roles.
2) approach and Meisner
The alternative two fundamental appearing techniques taught in acting schools are approach acting (also called “The technique”) and the Meisner technique. Each of these performing strategies had been inspired by Stanislavski and Each assist the actor create actual mind and feelings under imaginary situations, but they do it very in a different way.
Technique acting turns the focus inward.
Actors learn to use their five senses (sight, hearing, contact, flavor, odor) to recollect gadgets, reports and emotional recollections. These experience reminiscence exercises permit actors to draw from their very own reports As a way to create the man or woman and connect to the play.
Meisner appearing turns the focus outward. Actors educate to shift focus from themselves to their appearing partners which will react definitely to what’s occurring in the second. They rely upon their creativeness instead of their reminiscences on putting together for a scene. (Stella Adler, some other student of Stanislavski, stresses the significance of creativeness in her performing method.)
3) Different performing techniques
Stanislavski, “The approach”, Meisner, Stella Adler… These are the appearing strategies most actors have heard approximately, however if you’ve already explored These appearing techniques and want to strive something new, there are lots of appearing instructions that train lesser recognized techniques like Anne Bogart’s Viewpoints technique, Viola Spolin’s improvisation approach or Tadashi Suzuki’s bodily education for the actor, to name some.
What Meaning Do You Assign To Your Life
I am doing two courses in the mean time, a Meals Frame and Spirit route through a Sufi University and a 6-month course with high vibration trainer plant essences. Each guide is citing quite a few reminiscences from my early life.
The Shame Sport
The center strength I am experiencing within the healings is around Elevation. To elevate me up so eventually I am having a lot of Shame coming to the floor, as Shame is the lowest vibration we can experience.
I was raised in a very patriarchal family, and my early college days had been governed by way of what can only be described as a sadistic headmaster. He singled me out as he had troubles with my father, as my father turned into the Chairman of the college Committee. I suspect the further lower back through the generations you move his fashion of commandership become taken into consideration regular, as you spared the rod and spoiled the kid.
Shaming, violence, and humiliation were the order of the day. That’s the way you saved kids in line. Like farm animals being prodded.
Aftereffects
I do not like companies and specifically, don’t like mastering in a class scenario so I like to do all my have a look at by myself. I’m able to see why now. The fear, violence, and shaming inside the school room whilst I used to be age 5-10 contributed to brain freeze, and that I often iced over in high school in a school room putting.
So I got here away thinking I only went to school to consume my play lunch and that I wasn’t a very good learner. And a variety of fear of authority, and worry of my voice.
Assigning That means
For me, one in every of the biggest ways I was shamed became by using attributing what I did to being a girl. So finally everything I’ve carried out, or do, I assign a Which means of less than to and to counteract that I puff myself as much as experience vital or meaningful, but the center feeling I’ve is of feeling really worth much less.
One among the biggest areas I battle is in cooking. I don’t want to prepare dinner and that I see why now. I attributed this to being female’s paintings and so consequently had much less of a price. Wherein in truth cooking is impartial, it’s the Meaning I assigned to it.
I realized that I assign Which means and fee to matters. Myself, my day, my lifestyles, my purpose, my ideas, what I watch on Television if I decide to position nail polish on, or positioned out the trash, or do the dishes, or stay in bed. They’re all impartial in value, but I provide them their really worth.

The Creativity & Workforce

The Trivia
You can have heard about the Hindi films and their simply thrilling plots. But now let us take you via a few interesting Trivialities about Hindi films, a journey that started manner back within the 12 months 1913:
