Last song: I don’t listen to a ton of music most of the time because it feels bad with my migraines. But I went to a singing circle a week ago and one or two of the shorter, more repetitive songs from there have been stuck in my head on and off. Also we sang the Elk Herds song with all the harmonies, even though there were only four of us left in the circle by that point in the evening, so that was great.
Last show/currently watching: Last shows were Wednesday, Is it Cake?, and Russian Doll season 2, which I feel is a perfect snapshot of my preferred tv-watching habits--two spec-fic dark comedies and a dumb cooking competition. (Left to my own devices I’d say the ratio would probably be the opposite, but I was watching Russian Doll with people, and in fact I’ve watched little enough tv in the past several years since starting my last job that what I watch with other people on Saturday evening movie/tv nights is enough to skew my statistics.) Currently I’m finishing up the shows that I was partway through with friends, but now won’t be continuing with them because I’ve moved away: Spy x Family and The Patient. Next at the top of my watch list are “Glass Onion” (which is admittedly a movie not a show) and Stranger Things Season 4. After that I’ll have to go to my lists and think a bit about what I want to watch, but maybe Sandman (even though I wasn’t too into the books 20 years ago), or His Dark Materials (ditto), or Good Omens (ditto again, just replace 20 years with 15; you can see why I haven’t watched these shows yet even though everyone else has). Or maybe I’ll be asking for recommendations.
Currently reading: My tumblr dash. Uh. A smattering of fanfic. The last book I read was two months ago and it was The Last Graduate (Scholomance book 2). Next book in the queue, when I get to my destination and establish myself as a patron at my new local library is The Golden Enclaves (Scholomance book 3), which I am looking forward to. After that, my best friend and I have decided to do the first Mistborn book as a book-club book, because both of us want to try out Sanderson. She because she was obsessed with WoT as a kid, and ended up reading the entire series as it came out; Sanderson wrote the last three books after Robert Jordan died, so she’s very curious what she’ll think of his own works. Me because Sanderson is my sister-in-law’s favorite author and I feel like I should make some attempt at bonding with her? After that the next two books I intend to read are Memories of Empire, and Beloved (by Toni Morrison) as my book club book with my best friend, because it’s one of her favorites to re-read and we meant to do a book club on it last summer but ended up just being too busy. Anyway, some years I read 2 books a month and some years I read maybe 3 books the whole year, so I don’t know how long it’ll take to get through this list.
Current obsession: Insofar as I even do obsessions, idk, Wednesday I guess. The Locked Tomb, still. A friend who lives 15 minutes away from my new home is obsessed with Scholomance so maybe he’ll get me obsessed with it; notwithstanding that I was patient zero for tlt fandom among the people I know, generally I don’t get obsessed with anything without feedback from people around me who are also into it. (My dad, my best friend, and a handful of my other irl friends are all into Wednesday.)
Tagging whoever wants, which I know is a cheat but I don’t want to put pressure and I’m sure I’ll find anyone’s answers interesting.

8 Underrated Comedy Mysteries
So weird comedy tv shows are kind of my niche, and I realized I’ve seen a few comedy shows that revolve around mysteries and an intriguing plot line, so I wanted to make a list to share them in case you haven’t heard of them! Not all of them are mysteries, like Miracle Workers, but it does have a plot that puts you on edge and every episode does end with a cliffhanger, so I’m adding it!
1. Santa Clarita Diet
Tumblr media
I’ve already talked about this show on one of my previous posts, but that’s because I love this show so much and is actually the one that inspired this post! Santa Clarita Diet is about a woman, Sheila, who mysteriously becomes undead, and her family who try to talk her out of her impulsivity to kill anyone she sees and get away with it. Her husband Joel tries to figure out how she became undead, how to stop it, while also trying to keep Shiela’s murders under wrap so they won’t be caught. The characters are adorable, the women are badasses and the men have the most respect for women, and the comedy is top notch. Every time I watch it, it blows my mind that all three seasons take place over the course of like two or four weeks because that’s how much shit they have to get through just to survive. It’s a tad gory, especially with the first episode (there’s a huge vomit scene but that’s easily skippable) but if you don’t mind blood and guts, this shouldn’t be an issue! It was cancelled with three seasons but I still say it’s well worth the watch!
2. People of Earth
Tumblr media
People of Earth is about aliens! It centers around journalist Ozzie who is investigating reports of alien abductions and meets a support group of alien abductees all the while actual aliens are looking at them from above. This was also cancelled but it’s a great mystery show which always ends on a cliffhanger. What makes it even more intriguing for me is that the aliens are able to go undercover as human beings so they can make sure that their identities aren’t being figured out, so it’s a great comedic fish out of water sort of thing. You’ll fall in love with the rag-tag team of alien abductors and abductees as you unravel whether or not the people of earth find out about what’s been going on. The comedy is witty and smart and you’ll quickly find that you won’t be able to stop laughing and watching.
3. Search Party
Tumblr media
This show is a fantastic millennial play on Nancy Drew (kind of like if it were mixed with Girls) where the main character, Dory, finds out that an old friend of hers disappeared and she becomes obsessed with it, trying to string along clues in order to find her along with the help of her self-obsessed friends. It’s so much more than I expected it to be, and I promise you, don’t give up on this show. The first episode is a bit rough but once you get going, you’ll become even as obsessed as Dory to solve the mystery of Chantal’s disappearance. I didn’t end up watching the other seasons, as I found season one to be so good that I was afraid of ruining the show for me (I kind of saw it as a perfect limited series and I was too scared that would be ruined) but from what I read, it’s still going strong with four seasons!
4. Barry
Tumblr media
Okay, so this one isn’t that underrated, I’m sure you’ve heard of it, but it’s still nonetheless a very good show and I had to add it. It’s about character Barry who is a hitman who, while on his way to finish off an assignment, finds himself in the middle of an acting class and falls in love with it. He finds that giving up his old habits isn’t as easy as he expected them to, and he finds the balance between living a normal civilian life and carrying out the duties of his mercenary job a difficult thing to do, especially considering Sallie, an incredible actress in his class that he finds himself falling for. It’s hilarious, it’s depressing, it’s magnificent, it’s everything you didn’t expect but love and I really recommend this show to everyone (especially those who also had that weird Bill Hader phase after IT: Chapter Two came out). The reason I’m putting it in this category is because there is a mystery every season of whether or not his acting friends are going to find out about his secret life, and it’s very interesting and it always has me on the edge of my seat.
5. Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency
Tumblr media
What more could you want besides Elijah Wood, corgis, cute British detectives, badass female characters, and a really cool murder investigation? Oh, and a punk band! It’s been a few years since I watched it, so my memory is a little hazy on the plot, but what I can remember it’s about Todd (played by Elijah Wood) who becomes the main person of interest for a murder which he didn’t commit. Todd meets Dirk Gently, a man who claims that everything is holistic (meaning that everything everywhere is fundamentally connected in ways that is up to the universe), who begs him to join his detective agency to figure out the murder, which strings them along a very weird and very connected case. It has two seasons but was sadly cancelled, but the two seasons are extraordinary and hilarious.
6. Trial and Error
Tumblr media
Trial and Error is about new defense lawyer, Josh, going to goofy and backwards town South Peck to defend Larry Henderson who is being accused of killing his wife. It’s a hilarious take on murder mysteries, and each episode brings with a new piece of evidence. It has a wonderful father/son bonding relationship between Josh and Larry, and a colorful cast of misfits and oddballs who are all trying (in the words of the show) to get Larry off. I couldn’t praise this show more because of the goofiness and satirical nature of the jokes, all the while being incredibly heartfelt. It has two seasons, with season two revolving around the defense for self titled “Lady Killer” Kristin Chenoweth’s Lavinia Peck.
7. Miracle Workers
Tumblr media
What more could you want besides Elijah Wood, corgi- oh wait, sorry, this is Daniel Radcliff, my bad. An anthology series, the first season deals with angels Craig and Eliza who try to convince Steven Buscemi’s God not to obliterate the earth with the help of his right hand man Sanjay Prince by answering a miracle: getting awkward dorks Sam and Laura together. They only have two weeks to answer this prayer, which is a lot harder to solve when everything is going against them, including extremely shy Sam and Laura. It’s hilarious, it’s witty, it has Daniel Radcliff, I mean this is an extremely amazing show! Season two has nothing to do with a mystery, and revolves around the same cast as different characters in the dark ages, but I still highly recommend that one as well because it’s just as funny.
8. Russian Doll
Tumblr media
Thursday. What a concept! (Yes, that’s what that gif is from and in context it’s highly hilarious) This show is about Nadia, a woman who keeps her feelings to herself and her opinions out in the open, on her 36th birthday, who finds herself reliving the same day over and over again. She tries to solve the mystery and how to get out of that ridiculous time loop when she meets Alvin, a man who is also in the same time loop. It’s a story about love, friendship and loss, and I cry like a baby every single time I watch it. It has some of the most incredible writing and the pacing is excellent. It’s four hours of pure genius but it does also deal with trauma and depression so please check out the warnings. It came out in 2019 and I’ve watched six times, that’s how much I love this show!
That’s the end of my list, I hope you agree with the shows on here and give me some recommendations if I missed some of your favorite mystery comedies. :)

Gotta to ask, do have any TV show, book o fanfiction reviews (especially Losing So Much and Undead Chosen One AU, love those fics) for these pressing times?
So for fanfics, I made a rec post a few days ago that might be instructive. Also, if you search my blog for #fic rec or #fic recs, anything not in that post will show up. As I’ve said, I’ve been a little out of the fanfiction consumption side of things the past few months, which is why I have reached out for suggestions.
TV! Okay, so a rundown of shows I have enjoyed that are non-Star Wars.
Psych (hilarious and at times poignant. The whole cast is fantastic, but James Roday especially is a damn good actor and shines in the few-and-far-between serious moments on the show. Plus, I am a complete sap for stories focusing on the relationship between parents and their adult children.)
Russian Doll (captivating story and an easy binge. Think Groundhog day, but with more drugs and cats and based in New York.)
Santa Clarita Diet (season 3 lags a little, but it’s a great twist on the whole zombie thing and Sheila and Joe’s relationship is actually really fun to watch. Lotta gore, though.)
Slings and Arrows (Canadian show featuring Paul Gross as an eccentric theater director in a faux-Stratford Shakespeare Festival organization. Each season features a different play as the backdrop of the show, and if you’ve ever worked for an arts non-profit as a performer or admin or both, you will definitely appreciate how they portray the ever-present war between both sides and the eternal struggles of art vs. business. Plus, it’s just damn funny and you know, Shakespeare.)
Due South (speaking of Paul Gross. This is an oldie, but a goodie, 1990s-style buddy-cop/fish-out-of-water show that is both funny and heartfelt. I grew up on it and it holds a special place in my heart.)
Bojack Horseman (holy shit, this show. What started out as a zany portrayal of entertainment life in LA turned into one of the most piercing social commentaries on gender issues, death, addiction, mental health, sexuality, and inherited trauma. It gets dark in the later seasons, and the next-to-last episode of the whole series is one of the most haunting existential things I have ever watched on television. But it is fucking brilliant and funny and really holds no punches. Plus, if you are familiar with LA at all, the little references are especially hilarious.)
Umbrella Academy (I’m probably preaching to the choir here, but this is a great show if you haven’t checked it out yet.)
Agents of SHIELD (If you’re not in the Marvel fandom, I don’t know how much you’ll dig this, but I personally enjoyed a lot of it, especially Phil Coulson. The first few seasons are a little campy, but it gets darker later on with the digital reality arc and I really found myself enjoying it. Also, this was the first show I treadmill-binged, so it has a place in my heart for helping me to totally reimagine my gym routine.)
Dead Like Me (so someone recommended Dead to Me, and because I’m Very Smart, I ended up starting the wrong show. But this has been an intriguing watch, a very different take on life-after-death which is quite raw at times, but always interesting, especially as it kills off the 18-year-old protagonist at the start. Season 2 isn’t quite matching up to Season 1, but I’ll finish it off sometime in the next week or so.)
Farscape (this is quality Scifi television. Weird, amazing characters, amazing arcs, amazing aliens - definitely an underrated show of its genre)
Daria (ah, this one. There are a lot of reasons this show is personally hilarious to me, but let’s just say that it’s a full-on 90s disaffection cartoon that is smart with a highly relatable protagonist.)
Metalocalypse (this show is 100% over-the-top weird and I am here for it. Plus, Mark Hammill is a VA in it!)
Broadchurch (David Tennant in his glorious natural accent in a British detective series. Season 1 is amazing, emotionally raw and captivating television. I had a hard time trying to get through Season 2 and actually haven’t finished. But the first season is definitely worth it.)
Frasier (ah, a classic. The later seasons after “the event” aren’t as good but Seasons 1-5 are excellent and the humor is out of this world. Great show and one that stands up to multiple viewings.)
There are other shows I enjoy, like Brooklyn99 and 30Rock that I assume are more well-known on this site, and thus I haven’t included them on this list. I’m also not including the shows I watched that were fine, but I didn’t feel enthusiastic about (Witcher, Jessica Jones are the first two that come to mind). I’m also sure I’m forgetting something or somethings.
Books! I read too many books. I have no idea how to rec books except in terms of things I’ve read recently (at least, books that aren’t specialized music-academic offerings). Olga Tokarczuk’s writing is fabulous, I highly recommend any of her works. Going older, I read Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man a few months back and that was superb. Another book I read a while back that stuck with me was Tom Wolfe’s Bonfire of the Vanities. Olivia Laing’s The Lonely City also sticks out as a recent favorite. Neil Gaiman’s American Gods is also great, and to be honest (here comes some heresy), it’s a better book than Good Omens. Since I move a lot, I tend to read books and then give them away, but beyond my Shakespeare, Tintin, and Harry Potter collection, one of the few books that I always carry with me is David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas, which is a singularly haunting and fascinating novel and I am transfixed every time.
In terms of Star Wars books? That’s pretty easy. Kenobi, Dark Rendezvous, Plagueis, Master and Apprentice, and - pending the conclusion - Thrawn. Shatterpoint was also excellent. There are other SW books I’ve enjoyed, but these have been the easy standouts of the lot.

Hi! can you recommend a really good show? i miss ouat i want to watch thank kind of show and makes mw really excited? anything comes to your mind? please? thank you
something like ouat? hm. honestly haven’t really come across anything similar to that in terms of magical realism except the chilling adventures of sabrina. very different tonally but it does get to play with lore in the way ouat did, in its own way. and caos is not scary, despite whatever it’s attempting, lmao.
a couple of good show recs i can make anyway:
russian doll!!! technically magical realism, i guess. and just a perfectly crafted show from start to finish. not sure if there will be more episodes/seasons but it’s really solid and funny and great.
i always recommend the americans because it is a truly excellent show. it’s complex and “gritty” in a way that doesn’t make me want to roll my eyes and....it’s also becoming like, increasingly topical. but i think it’s along the same lines as mad men in terms of being a serious show that handles ugliness and flaws in characters really well. (i’ve also binged mad men in the past year, and while i couldn’t get through breaking bad without getting annoyed about the total glorification of this weird pseudo misogynistic machismo, mad men holds up)
i haven’t seen the new season yet, inexplicably, but siren’s first season is also definitely magical realism. it’s about mermaids, so twelve year old sarah was on board regardless of plot. and it was fun! (this is a reminder to myself to binge s2)
i tried the magicians and there were some elements i did really like, and some that just....kinda bored me. the pace is off with this show, imo, and i don’t feel like there’s enough explanation into this world, its rules, and so on. it’s nearly there for me, but the lack of scale and explanation and pacing have kept me so/so. i’ve been very very slowly working through s2. but a lot of people like it, and it is about magic and essentially enchanted forests. much less sparkly than ouat, so to speak, though.
the marvelous mrs. maisel isn’t a fantasy show unless your fantasy is to see how many different vintage dresses and hats one show’s wardrobe department can handle, but it is excellent, hilarious, and on point. deep rec.
next on my watch list is barry (the hbo show) but i don’t think that’s necessarily something you’re looking for based on what you’re asking. i also get fully immersed in campy shows with a lot of character archetypes and pop culture/literature/etc to pull analysis and comparison shows, which is what i loved about ouat, and what drew me to rd initially (i’m currently cooled, seeing if my interest renews), and what i like about caos. honestly, i can’t really think of anything else that meets that threshold for me right now, but if y’all hear of something or want to make a rec, please sound off!

5 & 15!
5. What’s the one TV show you can always watch reruns of, no matter how many times you’ve seen them?
As with every answer where I’m only supposed to pick one, there are several: Parks & Rec, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, The Twilight Zone, Psych.
15. What is your all-time favorite comedy? (Limit yourself to 3 if you must)
(Rules for how many I can choose? HA.)
All-time fave is probably Parks & Rec but in the interest of mixing things up a bit, some other finished comedies I truly love are Better off Ted, Don’t Trust the B in Apt. 23, Sports Night, Arrested Development (1-3), You’re the Worst, and Santa Clarita Diet (even though I haven’t watched the last season yet).
And some currently airing faves are Schitt’s Creek, The Good Place, Russian Doll, Glow, Bob’s Burgers, and Brooklyn 99.

The Country Singer Ch3 - Krista
AN: So I struggled with this chapter. I’m still getting my head around writing. Any feedback again would be very much appreciated.
“I really fucked up Trix” the normally laid back girl started. “I…I kissed Violet” her voice was waivering as she spoke. “I kissed her and she pulled away and I…I just didn’t know what to do! She just stared at me through those stupid, huge, beautiful eyes of hers and I ran!” A tear that had been sitting in the corner of Pearls eye finally escaped and trickled down her cheek. Trixie set her cup down on the counter and put her arms around her friends shoulders. Pulling the girl in towards she rubbed circles across her back while Pearl sobbed into her chest. “Oh Pearlie girl! You haven’t fucked things up! Did you even stay long enough for her to react?” Trixie looked down at the smaller blondes face, brushing the hair out of her eyes. “It’s a lot to process being kissed out of the blue, especially by a close friend. Her thoughts were probably going a mile a minute and she couldn’t get any of them out of her head.” Pearl’s sobs slowed and the girl managed to catch her breath. “You won’t lose her as a friend, at the very worst she’ll just think you were drunk and horny.” Trixie gave Pearl a squeeze and continued “You never know, she might even feel the same"  “You really think so? Ugh I'm so stupid… I should never have left” the younger girl raised her hands to her face, as if she was trying to hide. “I’m so ashamed of myself”, she said, rubbing her eyes. “For an impromptu kiss? Come on its not that bad! What I want to know is where have you been all night? You can’t have been waiting at work all that time?"  "I wasn’t and that’s the worst part Trix.” Pearl sighed “I took myself to the nearest bar, you know the one, that dive near my apartment? I was hurting and I just wanted to get fucked up. God I don’t know what i was thinking. Anyway, I was at the bar and after a few more shots this guy came over. I don’t remember even what he said to me but next thing I know I’m leaving and we’re going back to his. After that, all I remember is waking up and getting the hell out of there. Once I got my bearings I realised his place wasn’t too far from work so I came to you.” Pearl looked at Trixie like a child expecting to be scolded.  Trixie took a moment to take all of this in. “Wow. That was not what I was expecting you to say. I didn’t even think you were into guys?"  "I’m not, I haven’t been with one since high school when I was still trying to figure myself out. I just liked the validation. I was very drunk and he wanted me. I just went with it.” Pearl stood up and broke free of Trixie’s grasp. She started to pace the kitchen. “How am I going to explain myself to Vi? Oh I kissed you because I really like you but then my stupid brain was nah fuck that lets go out and find some random to go home with instead!"  "Pearl calm down!” Trixie caught her mid pace and spun her around to so they were face to face. “You’re going to take a breath, finish your drink and collect your thoughts. I’ll drive you back home in a bit.” She softened her expression a bit, “Be honest with her, tell her everything and be sincere. She may not understand but I’m sure she’ll forgive you.” Trixie pulled Pearl into another hug before sitting her down on the sofa. “I need to get changed, I’ll be right back"  As she walked into the bedroom Trixie couldn’t help but feel for her friend. She knew how awful it could be feeling that uncertain about things, but from the way Pearl talked about Violet she was sure it would work out for the best. When she first met Pearl, she was almost like Trixie’s polar opposite. Trixie was reserved, Pearl didn’t give a fuck. Trixie liked staying in and watching Disney films, Pearl liked going out and getting wild. As she herself described it, she had a flazeda attitude towards anyone and everything. Recently though Trixie had seen subtle changes in the girl’s personality. She would only go out with Violet and Katya, she was drinking and smoking less, and her face lit up whenever Violet’s name was mentioned. That was until last night. Trixie couldn’t imagine ever acting as Pearl had, but she could understand the reasoning and emotion behind the girl’s decision.  Hopefully this is a wake up call for her. After changing she took out her phone and text Katya to let her know Pearl was coming back. It took a good ten minutes to coax her friend out of the apartment. As they drove she could see Pearl becoming more and more restless and fidgety. "Breathe Pearl. Just relax.” She offered her a quick smile before turning her attention back to the road. As they pulled up outside the apartment block, Trixie unbuckled and opened her door to step out. She hesitated when she didn’t hear the younger girl do the same. “Trixie…What if she doesn’t forgive me? I know you think she will but what if she doesn’t?” Letting out a sigh, Trixie stared at her friend “In the highly unlikely situation that she won’t forgive you and all hope is lost…You can stay with me for as long as you need to.” Pearl reached over and hugged her. “You really are the best Trix"  They got out of the car and Trixie walked Pearl back to her flat. As they arrived Katya flung open the door and pulled Pearl into an angry hug. "You’re an idiot but I’m glad you’re safe. I want a full explanation when you’re ready… She’s in her room, go on.” She stepped aside to let Pearl through and Trixie turned to leave. “Where do you think you’re going?” Katya stared at the beautiful Barbie like girl in front of her. “You rescued Pearl from God only knows what the very least I can do is invite you in” she smiled warmly and opened the door.  “Oh… I didn’t want to impose… I just… Pearl and Vi will need privacy… I was just dropping her off” Trixie stammered. She did want to go in, any reason to spend more time with Katya was great, but she also felt like she’d forced the situation. Maybe I should have stayed in the car… Katya watched her babble for a second and then grabbed her by the wrist and led her in. “I insist, they’ll be in Violets room anyway. They wouldn’t notice if I invited a punk band into the apartment…again” Katya grinned at Trixie and led her into a small but well laid out living area. The walls were a pale grey and the natural wood floors gave the whole space a very tasteful feel. Not what I was expecting at all, this is quite classy!  “So this is the kitchen/living area, I wanted to for a modern minalist feel with Scandinavian overtones” Katya said looking Trixie dead in the eyes. Trixie was racking her brain trying to think of an intelligent response when Katya burst out laughing. “I’m kidding! I have literally nothing to do with the decor, Violet would never let me! I think she likes to pretend my room doesn’t exist because it offends her so much” Trixie watched the Russian girl ramble about carpets and wall hangings and how Violet had banned her from buying more matryoshkas.  She wasn’t really listening, she was trying her best not to stare too much at the beautiful girl. No longer in the Dolly Parton look, Katya had on a black blouse with jewel toned embroidery and a tiny mini skirt with a clashing pattern. The look was so wrong but it worked on her. Katya had a phenomenal body and she knew how to show it off. It was bewitching to Trixie.  “I can take the skirt off if you want a closer look” Trixie snapped out of her daydream to see Katya grinning at her, the mischievous look in her eyes made Trixie think she was only partially joking. “Oh…um…I just really liked it, it’s very pretty.” Trixie stammered, hoping Katya would believe her.  The older girl just smiled and shook her head slightly.  “If you like this then I have something to show you!” Katya jumped up from where she’d been leaning against a chair. “Come with me!” She beckoned Trixie towards the hall leading off the apartment. What have a gotten myself into? I don’t follow people I’ve met twice into their bedrooms!
Despite her better judgement Trixie followed Katya past two doors to a room at the end of the hall. Katya held the door open for her and what she stepped into could only be described as a problem pattern nightmare. The walls were a dark purple with some sort of Paisley pattern on them, the bedding was orange and checked. The curtains were black with little stars stitched along the bottom. It was no wonder Violet wanted to forget its existence. Trixie turned when she heard Katya close the door behind her. She watched as Katya turned and started walking towards where she was stood.
Oh god, do I kiss her? I shouldn’t!  I really want to though!  No! Trixie be good, if you actually like her then be a lady!
Trixie’s internal debate with herself raged on for what seemed like hours as Katya crossed the room getting closer and closer. She reached Trixie and leaned in towards her, Trixie held her breath…
Katya extended an arm and grabbed the door handle Trixie was stood in front of. She let out a sigh of relief when the Russian spun her round and opened the door to the biggest walk in closet Trixie had ever seen.
“Oh my god!”
“I know right? Perks of being the one that found the apartment. Violets really jealous!"
Trixie stared at the rails upon rails of clothes, it was like she had stepped into Cher’s wardrobe from Clueless. "Katya this is amazing! How do you have so many clothes! How do you decide what to wear? Oh my god I think want to live in here! "  She was running up and down the closet trying to take everything in.
Katya giggled to herself watching the doll-like girl get so excited. She’d guessed that Trixie would be interested but had not imagined this reaction. "Well I figured you must like fashion after your compliments of my outfit last night but I underestimated clearly! I work as a seamstress for Del Rio, you know? The fashion house? I manage the closet and Bianca lets me clear it out once a season.” Trixie was staring open mouthed while she explained “I don’t decide what to wear, I pull things at random and wear them all together because I’m high fashion darling!” Katya laughed at her own joke as she took a step into her closet. “Which reminds me.” she grinned at Trixie as she started to rifle through a rail full of jackets. “After seeing you on stage you reminded me of this.” Katya turned holding a leather jacket in the palest pink with studs and tassles down the arms. “It’s like it was made for you so it’s only right you should own it” she held it out for Trixie, gesturing for her to try it on.
“Oh Katya…wow… I…I can’t accept this! It’s designer! It’s worth a fortune and I’ve only known you 5 minutes. It’s too much!” Trixie stammered as she stared at the beautiful jacket. Katya was having non of it and put it on Trixie, lifting her arms and putting them through the sleeves. “Don’t be silly! Did you hear what I said? I get all this for free!” She sighed  “This jacket would have been resigned to living a lonely life in the darkest corner of my closest wondering why no one loved it enough to wear it. Do you want that? Do you want to destroy it’s tiny jacket dreams?” Katya looked so serious that Trixie couldn’t help but laugh. “Okay, okay I’ll accept it! Thank you!But only because I look so damn good in it!”
“You don’t need to tell me. Barbie!”
