For the people who asked for book recs, muhahaha...

(You may be interested in my book tag or my goodreads) The tag definitely repeats some of my favourites because I keep recommending them, but in my defence, they are excellent and I need no defence.

Anyway, fantasy book recs my love...I know I have a type. We all know I have a type. I was not kidding about the fairytales/retellings obsession.

Also, let’s get it out of the way. Literally ANYTHING by V.E Schwab. I cannot stress that enough. My favourite is The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue, but like. God tier.

Ran away when he was 10, he can't see, well, its not that he can’t see, he refuses to open his eyes, because when he does, he can't see people, he just sees their aura, and their thoughts, and its so loud, this developed at the age of 9 and he runs away at 10 to get away from his mothers, not to scare them, but because he was afraid of hurting them by letting them know what he was going through. He is the only person besides Zolas to know about it, and god is it killing him. Zolas takes care of him after he almost drowns, and they are EXTREMELY protective over him. Zolas gets the same treatment, he’s very kind to them, and even though they don’t need it, he tries to keep them out of harms way due to the bad rep Sirens get. Though, Zolas has hurt people he loves, so he has a charm that blocks them from moving. He’s constantly on the move, one of his favorite friends is Asta, they met on a pirate ship back in Prakra and they're very nice to one another.

On the note of Pirates, he does get kidnapped by a certain crew due to his relation to rue. But that I'll leave off there

They can give off a human appearance. Most their scars are from human attacks, their great at fighting, especially with a spear. Considers pier like a child to them, and their very overprotective.

How about something from the underground railroad au?

@norbertsmom TBH This isn’t one I’ve really started beyond notes and a general outline. The story basically goes that Peeta and Katniss live during the war in Harpers Ferry, WV. Peeta is the town’s baker who lives on his own after his family has either died or moved away, and despite being someone who interacts in their society regularly, he’s someone of a pariah due to his abolitionist beliefs. There’s also rumors flying that he’s a secret stop on the Underground Railroad.

Katniss is in a similar situation as she is in canon, with her, her mother, and her sister living on the edges of town in very desolate circumstances after losing Mr. Everdeen to the war. Katniss is still hunting and trading on the sly. She knows about the rumors surrounding Peeta, but doesn’t really care since a) she has non-white blood in her herself, and b) Peeta is always happy to trade with her. They strike up something of a friendship, until Peeta finally makes it known that he’s harboring feelings for her and attempts to find out of she feels the same way. Katniss, still afraid of loss and intimacy, panics and begins to keep her distance from him.

Not long after, Katniss meets Rue, who is on the run, having escaped slavery and is trying to make her way up north. Katniss immediately takes to her, just as in the Games, and attempts to help her. Unfortunately, things take a tragic turn and Rue is killed when she’s caught. However, not long after, the rest of Rue’s family makes it to Harpers Ferry, and Katniss feels especially adamant about helping them make it to freedom. Despite the distance that’s grown between them, Katniss goes to Peeta for help. The rumors about his being a stop are true, and he reluctantly agrees to help her. As they work together, Katniss starts to realize that she may return Peeta’s feelings as well.

And that’s all I’m gonna say. I do’nt want to give away the ending, in case I ever do get around to writing it. ;)
