I present a very unnecessary analysis of the scaralumi talk before the big fight

First of all I love the way they both can see through each other. I think often times we overlook how good Lumi is at understanding the feelings of others - mostly because Paimon does most of the talking - but here we can see just how good she is at reading him since (I believe) this is the most she has ever talked in a quest. Scara believes he knows what he wants, but Lumi knows what he needs.

I like how he says this because it is true. We have been proven time and time again how Lumi cares about others, which is why despite her being enemies with Scara she can’t help but empathize with his situation.

But she’s not stupid, there’s where it comes the “almost” part. She is saying that as a way to try and stop his plans, not simply because she is worried about him and he knows that, but he still tries to convince her about him being, even though for a moment it almost sounds like he’s trying to convince himself.

Scara then moves on to say how his life has been meaningless up to this point, as if becoming a god is his only purpose and without it he is nothing. So he tried to understand why would Lumi bother going through such “futile errands” of protecting everyone.

But once again Lumi sees through him asking why then would he keep the connection with Haypasia (and consequently with Lumi herself). Even with his answer she is not convinced so he just deflects with his arrogance.

Not to mention how everything he says about Haypasia can also be applied to Lumine, since they both share a connection with him and saw his past. I find it interesting how he was able to sense Lumi and immediately entered her consciousness to observe her

Once again Lumi is able to figure him out and say what she needed to tick him off. He says how bad she is at sewing discord, but he still goes ahead and attacks the fatui calling it an “expression of affection”like he did for Haypasia, putting the two girls on the same wavelength

#I wanted to add more images but tumblr won’t let me 😭😭#I really love the dynamic they established here #All the times they met before happened around some conflict this is the first time they stopped to talk without attacking each other #it just makes for a really fun back and forth between two enwmies who sre surprisingly good at reading each other #lumi knows godhood won’t bring scara the happiness he craves for #she doubts him when he says he keeps Haypasia around just because a god needs followers #She has seen his memories so she knows he craves for acceptance no matter how hard he denies it #While Scara sees Lumi’s determination in keeping everyone safe despite Teyvat giving her nothing in return #all while knowing it will most likely end in her simply getting her the same way he did #so yeah I love them lots and lots #genshin impact #lumine #scaralumi #lumiscara #scaramouche #wanderer #lumi harem #mine

i wanted to share this video i found of jannik and translate it too for those who don't speak italian because i am soooo fond of this jannik... low voice, talking about how he loves spending time with fans, being happy about milan winning, smiling almost shyly, joking.

for context this was after the first round at roland garros in 2022 and it was right after milan won the league (scudetto) for the first time in 11 years so obviously it was very special and you can clearly see it in jannik's eyes <3

like that is not the point of her character arc oml she only became a badass assassin through brainwashing and had to give up every part of herself that would not serve her purpose, and now that she has another chance to actually live as herself wholly, we should be appreciating the person she should have been if her life hadn’t been through so much tragedy and hardship before her memory returns and rips it all way from her again

#alchemy of souls #the episode today also explicitly told us that she wasn't able to recover her powers or memory because of the lack of external stimuli #she will come back to herself as she was before but it's going to bring her great pain #and i for one want her to stay happy and guileless for a little longer

RTD is so in love with David Tennant that it makes him look stupid, huh.

#listen friends i dont know what to feel #i love everyone involved #I'm so happy that Donna has her memories back and will spend the rest of her life with her best friend by her side #but that ending felt like it was straight out of a christmas Hallmark movie; my teeth ache from all that saccharine sweetness #I'll be able to justify it if RTD is setting the stage for bringing Tennant and Tate into his UNIT spin-off which seems to be in the works #if that's not the reason it's hard for me to swallow this plot twist with the biregeneration #firstly: RTD did something similar at the end of the fourth season—splitting the Doctor to “give” one version to Rose #it's a bit annoying to see him essentially do the same now by letting another version of the Doctor to stay with Donna #secondly: I missed the emotion in this #I spent a week bracing myself for heartbreak but we went a bit too far in the other direction #we got a cutesy ending where everything resolves through a deus ex machina #yet it’s those bitter and grief-soaked moments are what RTD has always excelled at #when it comes to the Doctor's regeneration and farewells to companions #it's hard to feel much about this plot development #some things should remain final and some goodbyes and endings are unavoidable #the conclusion of Rose’s arc (both from s2 and s4) or Donna's ending in s4 #were among the most emotionally intense moments in the history of television #I missed a bit of that here #perhaps if there were more bitterness in the 14th Doctor's ending if he had to pay some PRICE for this biregeneration #(like not getting his TARDIS #being told that the Fifteenth takes over the regeneration ability #and the Tennant Doctor will die of old age)#emotionally it would have provided viewers with a cool punch #without that it seems like RTD wanted to have his cake and eat it too #have a new Doctor and give his old characters a last-minute happy ending that doesn't make much logical sense #I was hoping to feel more considering how much I love these characters #but my main reaction is an eyeroll #on the positive side I really hope to see Neil Patrick Harris in the show again he was a great villain #and Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor is already so freaking great!!! <3 #doctor who

yeah idk i didn’t mean to imply that you can’t criticize the way kh has structured its overarching story. maybe i should have clarified that. trust me i have plenty of gripes of my own with kh3’s attempt to tie a thousand plotlines together (although i think it was pretty much doomed to fall short of fan expectations for a myriad of reasons but it is what it is). and as far as i’m concerned it’s valid to wish they had gotten to kh3 and capped off the story in a simpler way earlier

but like.., the writers aren’t obligated to cater to you is the thing.., they wanted to keep making kh games and the way to do that was to introduce new plotlines in games before it that would thread through kh3 and lead into the future. wonky? sure. not trying to say it’s always flawless. but like they’re not milking the franchise for cash or whatever they’re clearly passionate about this and shouldn’t be hindered. they got more ideas and had to establish more lore and sometimes change some older lore, as is the nature of writing sometimes

if you dislike that, believe me, i’ve been there. we’ve all been longtime fans of something that was fundamental to our childhood but then took a turn we personally didn’t like. i know it sucks but the solution to this is to simply leave. hit da bricks. reminisce about the glory days with other people who agree with you but mannnn responding bitterly to people who clearly are enjoying the new thing is going to do nobody any favors. does hateposting even make you happy??? for your own sanity find another place to go

I get to feed glitch city it's next victim soon and I'm so excited. Choosing to run a one-shot before tackling the ENTIRE full-length adventure is probably my smartest decision. I realize I'm super neurodivergent about my glitch shit so it makes me so giddy and grateful when people actually wanna play with it, and get invested in all of the plot twists and lore drops.
