Before you pay that not-covered hospital bill:
I want to take a min to spread awareness for the No Surprises Act after noticing a reddit post earlier.
This protection for patients just popped up in the past couple years, and the one major downside is that it's up to the patients to speak up to make use of it, but not everyone knows what it is.
"If you have private health insurance, these new protections ban the most common types of surprise bills. If you’re uninsured or you decide not to use your health insurance for a service, under these protections, you can often get a good faith estimate of the cost of your care up front, before your visit."
Consumer fact sheet
Typically, health insurance companies will help pay for bills from "in-network" providers, AKA their VIP inner circle gang turf. They won't help pay if you get medical care from another gang's henchmen (out of network).
This means that sometimes, a person would go to the hospital, which they knew had been covered by their insurance before, so they expect it's going to be relatively affordable. But they didn't know that multiple medical "gangs" were working in the same hospital. Their anesthesiologist, for example, was from a different gang. That specialist was out of network even though the surgeon and nurses were all in network.
Boom. Big bill for thousands of dollars and their insurance refuses to help pay it.
Tumblr media
But now we have this law! The No Surprises Act means that insurance companies need to cover "surprise" expenses (under certain conditions).
If you don't have health insurance, hospitals and clinics need to give you an accurate quote before you get services, then foot the bill if they were too far off the mark.
The Fact Sheet section of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services have some wonderful user-friendly resources for you about health insurance and how this act works.
Keep in mind that Medicare and government-run programs always have weird rules for everything, so you might have different (yet similar) protections through those programs.
If you have a medical bill that wasn't covered by insurance and you think it might count as a surprise bill, please check out your rights and consider fighting it instead of letting it become a stressful expense or debt you can't repay.
Go here to start figuring things out for your situation:
Health insurance companies have way, waaaaay too much power over our lives. We need every drop of protection we can get - but it only counts as much as we can understand and use those protections!

I want to draw hannigram or any hannibal ship really (that's appropriate and I'm willing to draw) nsfw.
Mostly I want to draw hannigram doing it down and dirty. Maybe hannimals hannigram? Maybe normal hannigram? Maybe that one secret sneak peak hannigram I'm doing to do for my next comic?
I want to draw them ravenous and hungry for each other just going ham at it. Practically eating each other. Making them desperate and needy for each other's touch...
Damn, never thought I'd want to draw porn so bad as an AroAce spec.
I'll probably reblog this with asking which version I should draw them in if it gets yes majority. Otherwise this aroace is getting porn deprived. Dw I'll have a ton of metaphorical sex in the comics if not them kinda boreline fucking.

I haven't done much digital art lately, so I want to do some warm ups by making some 3D models in Paint3D!
I'm taking 3D plushie art requests! Either send me an ask with a picture of your plushie/name of a plushie you like, and if you'd like tell me a bit about your plush friend! I have been in a bit of a stuffed animal phase right now, and I thought it'd be fun to model some stuffed friends!
Here's one I made of Hannimation's Sadie plush! She just arrived on Monday, I was so happy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These will be relatively simple models, Paint3D is a very simple software so it lacks many essential 3D modeling tools, for instance the reshape tool can only resize model parts, it can't actually adjust the shape. But the part that I love about Paint3D is you can make textures directly in the program just by drawing on the model! While getting fine details is difficult, it's a lot of fun and much simpler than making textures externally and guessing how they'll look on the model and needing to make teeny tiny adjustments over and over again (I speak from experience as a MMD artist)
I look forward to modeling these stuffed animals! I will make a compilation of the models I've made once I make more :)
edit: I said this in a reblog but I'll add it to the original post too, please let me know what your plushie's gender/pronouns are! I want to make sure that I refer to them correctly.

Seattle is under siege.
Taylor Swift leads thousands of Swiftie soldiers to march on our Southern and Eastern fronts, and there is word that they already have placed infidels within our borders to recruit defectors.
Canadian sportsball fans who are half birds - perhaps Valkyries of legend - are descending from the Northern front.
Even our own Washington Department of Transportation has conspired with traitorous intent to shut down our main bridges and escape routes, thus weakening our maneuverability.
The citizens have begun drawing up defense maps as the battle looms.

Hey uhh investors have been buying like one out of every five houses for sale lately. Two out of five of the homes that investors buy are starter homes that would otherwise likely be affordable for new or mid-income families to buy themselves without a middleman. Is that whack or what
Residential real estate should never be treated like an investment asset or profit-generating business. Make this illegal.

I can't believe people still "hack" their partners' Facebook accounts to post something like "HACKED ILY BABYYY!!!1" I'm pretty sure these are just weak covers for going through their phone/messages...

YOU GUYS I am so excited…
A 34th Nancy Drew game has been officially announced after the entire fandom was pranked into thinking it was a horrible April fools’ joke. The prank is that the announcement was real after all lol. These games were the companion to my entire childhood and teen years from age 10 onward until the company ran into some big issues. I’m SO. hyped

Grocery costs are going to completely break this country.
And others like Canada and the UK that are seriously struggling.
You have people buying bags of off-brand potato chips to survive because it is more affordable per calorie than basic fruits, vegetables and meat/cheese. Families are turning into beans and rice households and even then they're seeing 25-50%+ increases on prices of stuff like that. The cheapest can of beans near me is $1.29, and most cans are more like $2.50-3.00. People are literally comparing old receipts from just 2-3 years ago for the exact same product list and finding a 130% cost difference.
How much do you think a little breakfast sandwich at McDonalds costs? $3? $5? Just checked my receipt from last week and it was $7. Hashbrown patties you'd think would cost $1, maybe $1.50 each right? Nah. Over $3. Workers' wages in my area at McD means making $15/hr. That's an hour of hard labor for two sandwiches. Or five potato triangles, take your pick.
Food theft is spiking. I saw a video where a grocery store put security tags on the meat parcels.
Starving the peasants through lobbying, lax regulation and refusal to fund public services is how you turn that corner real fast.
