I've seen this post circulate quite a bit. There are many meanings to it. For me it's akin to surveillance of an injured person or a disability claimant. In the early 80's insurance companies in the USA started to hire private investigators to try and nail employees lying who were collecting disability benefis. The practice spilled over to personal injury litigation and now today - insurance companies may put surveillance on seriously hurt suffering victims on occasion to try and discredit them and lessen the amount of money they will pay you. Digital surveillance is the cheapest and by far the most effective. The title Esquire (often abbreviated as “Esq.) is a term typically used in North America to designate a person who passed the bar exam and can practice law. The word squire derives from scūtum, Latin for “shield” – squires were “shield-bearers” for medieval knights who hoped to become knights themselves. These men were called squires for most of the Middle Ages, but esquire began to appear in the 15th century. The esquire title isn’t generally used by a lawyer when referring to himself. Instead, it’s a courtesy title that is used when addressing correspondence to a practicing lawyer, who is now an esquire. For example, you might write on an envelope: Mr. M. Edward Key, Esq.
