Here’s a preview of my matsuhana piece written for the @hq-mafia-zine! Preorders are open now until July 31st HERE!
This morning’s setting is a slaughterhouse, both in a literal and metaphorical sense. The abattoir boasts concrete walls, no windows, and the entrance is galvanized steel save for a few rusting garage doors in the back. Above their heads hang low metallic hooks on long chains, grimy with use and a singular purpose.
Today the meat hooks are empty, but the floor is already covered with a thick, glistening layer of blood.
“Next time Oikawa wants to slit some prick’s throat,” Hanamaki says, irritation scrunching the bridge of his freckled nose. “He can fucking deal with the cleanup himself.”
“Squeamish?”
“Try long-suffering.”
Matsukawa fits him with a blank look, but it’s clearer than crystal to Hanamaki that he’s trying fervently not to laugh, all things considered. “This guy had it coming, you know.”
“Issei, I can think of at least a hundred different ways to kill a man that would leave less destruction than slitting his throat.”

This is part of my Kurotsukki fic for the @hq-mafia-zine!! Preorders are open from now until July 31st and all the art and writing looks pretty great ;) Check it out if you like!
Kuroo barely had any warning before there were one, two, three sharp knocks at the door and by then Bokuto’s voice had already snuck in through the cracks. He invited himself in so easily, radiating confidence. “Oi, Kuroo, you got a couple minutes?”
“A couple minutes for what?”
He set down his coffee and watched as Bokuto ushered in their guest - a tall, lanky blond man wearing glasses on his downcast face. “Kuroo, you’ve met Tsukki, right?” When Kuroo shook his head, Bokuto’s eyes went wide, bigger than normal. “He’s our new member! We got him just a few days ago, and we’ll need you to do work on him - just the usual, like everyone else. That okay?”
Grinning came easily to Kuroo. “Well, I can’t turn down a request from the boss, can I?”
“Then it’s settled!” Bokuto slapped Tsukki heartily on the back. “I’ll let you two get acquainted.”
He left without closing the door behind him. Kuroo got to his feet, looking over his new customer. “So, Tsukki - “
“It’s Tsukishima.”
Kuroo raised an eyebrow. “That’s not what Bokuto called you.” He tried to look straight at Tsukishima but the latter wouldn’t let him.
“That’s - you know - “ Tsukishima seemed to be stammering. His words couldn’t quite come together. “I can’t correct a freaking mafia boss on something as trivial as a nickname.”
His eyes met Kuroo’s when he blinked once and then he was looking away again.
“But you corrected me.”
It came out as a whisper even though that hadn’t been his intention. But it seemed more effective this way. He swore it made Tsukishima shiver down his entire spine.

Violent Delights Preview!
There’s a rustle from behind him, the soft sound of a footstep, and Koushi tightens the grip he has on the handle of the blade strapped to his thigh. A heavy feeling on his shoulder has him ducking out of reach and whirling around, only to see a familiar face smirking at him. “Hello, sweetheart. Did I catch you at a bad time?”

@monkparty Kyoutani and tattooed Yahaba in a steamy bed scene.
@vaniraa Mafia boss Kuroo in a suit and tie with Sniper Tsukishima sitting on his lap, donning leather getup with his gun in hand.
@chabibit Lev and Alisa Haiba in formal attire, relaxing after a messy mission.
@ainudraws Kageyama and Hinata going through an angsty (and physical) break-up.
Fiction
@h-lovely Hanamaki and Matsukawa clean up after some of the filthiest missions, and sometimes get to take part in the action themselves.
@caelestisxyz Undercover cop Bokuto and Akaashi, the hitman hired to watch him.
@novocaine-sea Ushijima and Oikawa are leaders of two rival syndicates: Oikawa dabbles in human trafficking while Ushijima is a drug dealer/seller.
@worthlesspride Iwaizumi has always been there for Oikawa, even now as he fights his way to stay at the top of the Mafia food-chain.
@orcmeat Tattooist Kuroo becomes increasingly interested in new Mafia recruit Tsukishima with each new piece of ink he earns.
