My first ever Tomura fic was that dynamic with a Darling that becomes more toxic and accepts that she's living with a tar pit. Regardless of the fact that she can feel sympathy and even genuine desire for that tar pit, they both just have to live with the fact that he's a hurt person who hurt the fuck out of her.
