we as a community - and i mean all of us, from haredi yeshiva grads to secular “jew-ish” folks - need to confront and deal with our internalized antisemitism. i know the phrase “self hating jew” has been basically distilled into a meme at this point but it originated from the very real phenomenon of jews assimilating so heavily they turned on their own community. until we unpack that baggage, we’re not going to make progress.

“Judaism is like Christianity without the New Testament or Jesus” I’m going to explode u with my mind
Christianity is like Judaism if you stripped down all of our holy books and texts to just the Torah, renamed it, translated it differently, interpreted the text drastically differently, added a sequel, and also now there are three gods but they’re also all one g-d, and then developed as a completely separate culture for hundreds of years, with completely different holidays, customs and religious ceremonies.
Also, historically, Christians have been the oppressor class to Jews in almost every part of the world since it’s inception. Of fucking course they’re two drastically different religions and cultures.

You can criticize people like Ben Shapiro without being antisemitic... Like if you can get it through your head that doing things like misgendering a trans person because they did something wrong is bad, you should understand its bad to resort to projecting harmful jewish stereotypes onto people because they're shitty.
Ben Shapiro sucks, but he is a jewish man and jewish men have been stereotyped as feminine and there is even an antisemitic myth that cis jewish men have menstrual cycles. So like... joking about a cis jewish man being secretly trans isnt exactly the funny irony joke you think it is.
Also, he talks like that because that is a common speech pattern for a lot of jewish people in certain communities.
You can criticize shitty people without perpetuating bigoted beliefs. Also this shit is just gonna push a guy like him deeper into toxic masculinity.

big pet peeve of mine is when people combine two types of ezekielian angels into one. your many-eyed wheels should NOT have wings! your four-winged beings should have EXACTLY eight eyes (two per face)! they are COMPANIONS the אופנים carry the spirits of the חיות! like have you even READ ezekiel?!?!

Can alternative dairy products like soymilk or almond milk served with meat be considered kosher? Or is it still dairy in spirit?
tbh "still dairy in spirit" is kind of the perfect way to describe how non dairy milk with meat would be viewed under jewish law and discussions of it. like is it technically meat and dairy? no. but one of the arguments against it is basically like, if another jew walked by and saw you eating a burger with a non dairy milkshake, he's not gonna know the milkshake is non dairy. so he might assume that you're eating meat with dairy! and he might assume that if you're doing this that the prohibition of eating meat with dairy has been lifted! which means he might go eat a burger with real dairy, and before you know it you have accidentally caused this poor man to violate halacha! so to be safe, if you're gonna eat meat with non dairy alternatives and are worried about leading others astray, eat in private.

Feeling a bit conflicted on this so as a Jewish person going to share my thoughts
The Star of David is a Jewish symbol.
It is NOT original to Israel. People who use the Star of David aren’t inherently affiliated with Israel in the slightest and for people to harass uninvolved Jews or accuse them of being zionists bc they have the Star of David on their person/on their profile are antisemitic. Plain and simple. The Star of David is not a hate symbol and to equate being Jewish with automatically being a zionist is antisemitic as fuck
That being said, there’s no doubt it’s being used a hate symbol and many Palestinians see it as such. Pro-Palestinian posters and messages are being vandalized with the Star of David, flags with the star are being flown over destroyed Palestinian towns- towns that have been bombed into dust by people wearing the same symbol-, Israeli soldiers even BRAND innocent Palestinians with it- permanently marking it into their skin as a sadistic act of unneeded cruelty and humiliation. Yes, while it’s not intentionally used as a hate symbol zionists are using it as such and consequently we’re not going to blame Palestinians for seeing it as so !!!
“The Star of David is an important Jewish symbol and not indicative of Zionism in the slightest” and “The Star of David is unfortunately seen as a symbol of oppression by many of those suffering from Israel’s brutal ethnic cleansing” are statements that can and need to co-exist.
While yes, it’s antisemitic as hell to point fingers to anyone who has the Star of David on them and call them a zionist, do not fucking harass the Palestinians who had no fucking choice but to associate that symbol with hate and violence and death

I have to ask my fellow pro-Palestine ppl to Please reconsider some of what u repost . Always scroll critically . Is what you’re seeing seriously related to the topic of being a voice for Palestinians? About archiving evidenced history? About keeping the news relevant online?
A conspiracy about an American-Israeli p*do rings or random Jewish criminals who “might be” (there’s no obvious link unless ur an antisemite :/) connected to Israel is not help. It’s not support. It’s not informing anyone of the violent, long-illegal colonisation of Palestine.
Free Palestine is not a platform to start flooding social media with irrelevant, outdated or unverified inflammatory content that, at best, makes it harder to find information. While at worst, it honestly reads like an antisemitic dogwhistle; “This person has a Jewish surname* ergo they must be relevant to Israeli occupation” is antisemitic as fuck.
*this is an extremely new concept 2 me im ngl . I’ll try my best to figure out when im seeing ppl do this to Jewish-surnamed ppl. Rly sry 😭 call it a W. European thing but to me, having German/Dutch/Polish-sounding surnames is like the epitome of common so I don’t rly associate it with any religion
