I have to stress he also looks down on cats who "follow." He literally starts screeching that Gray Wing was "BORN TO FOLLOW WHILE I WAS BORN TO LEAD!!!!!" at his 3rd book murder party. He enjoys that he can degrade and punish Star Flower and she won't fight back.

Clear Sky continues to bully his child. Wheeeeeeeeeeee
Clear Sky continues to control what his cats eat, how they behave, and where they're allowed to go. He talks like a cult leader; "IT'S MY DUTY TO KEEP YOU FROM TEMPTATION." Thunder, true to an abuse victim, feels desperate to flatter his father so that he'll stop punishing him, only to catch another insult for it
Then Clear Sky "goes off to be alone" and Thunder follows, finding Clear Sky meeting in private with Star Flower
Star Flower is the same age as the son Clear Sky is abusing. Chapter 9 established that Clear Sky likes her because she obeys him and promises to never leave-- like a good victim. It also confirms Star Flower thinks she is a bad person on the same level as him, because she "betrayed" Thunder once, for her father who we are going to learn promised his daughter's body off as a prize to Slash.
Thunder, one of the best people to realize that Star Flower is ALSO trying to flatter and ingratiate herself to Clear Sky, very similarly to how he does when he wants to avoid getting hurt, gets fixated on his jealousy for her sexy sexy body.
Women don't get to be people in this arc. Everything wraps around to the relevant male characters' pain or enjoyment of the girls around them. It's about how CLEAR SKY can finally be rewarded with her body. It's how JEALOUS Thunder feels. It's about this... nauseating love triangle between a father abuser and his son victim. And Star Flower is ruined by it.
Narrative isn't interested in why she feels the need to throw her body at a dictator. It doesn't want to draw parallels between Clear Sky and Slash/One Eye, or portray the way that victims of childhood abuse often end up in abusive relationships mirroring what they went through.
No. They're playing it for The Drama of an abused son pining over how jealous it makes him feel to see a girl he liked get handsy with his manipulative father. While it insists Clear Sky is a redeemed goodgoodboy and this is sooo nice for him once Thunder "gets over himself"
