GL oneshot recs:

Summary: An assassin who frequents a grocery store because she's in love with the woman who works there.

Review: UGH I wish this wasn't just a oneshot. It's soo good. The characters are excellent. I'm so upset that it's just a oneshot. (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠)

Summary: Natsuko and Kiri are living together and are in a relationship. But when Kiri has to move to Tokyo for work, Natsuko knows she can’t follow because of a previous trauma in that city. This is the story of them coming to terms with their separation, and what it means for their love.

Review: The art made me feel so cozy. It's such a cute read! Their relationship is adorable.

Mangaka: sono.N

Summary: In a future where still-functional relics of a high-tech war wander the streets of otherwise peaceful Japan, eager rookie Koga joins the SHWD(Special Hazardous Waste Disposal), a grizzled group of office workers-meet-special forces. Under the tutelage of the grumpy but caring Sawada, Koga gets prepped for her first mission out on the field. Together, the unlikely duo must confront monsters beyond their wildest nightmares.

Review: Okay I know this is a oneshot recommendation post but I want to recommend this serialized manga since the oneshot above (Your warmth) was also written by the same mangaka. It's an action GL. The women in this are well written. There's buff women. The art is magnificent. I highly recommend this!!!

Status: Completed {the official english volumes are still being released}

Summary: A love story between two frustrating adult women.

Review: It's a good read!! The plot intentionally misguides you at the beginning. The mangaka of this story is the same as "The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy At All"

Summary: Two office ladies in love.

Review: Although it seems a bit incomplete towards the end, it's still a cute read!!

Summary: The title of the story already gives the gist of what it's about.

At first, Aya thinks Mitsuki is a boy and eventually learns that she’s actually her quiet classmate. They bond over their love of music and their relationship begins to grow.

I would jump in front of a train for these two. They are so adorable. The author publishes the story’s panels (four panels per post) on their official Twitter and usually, there’s an English translation out within the same day.

The art direction is so unique because of all the green highlights, I personally love it! I’m hoping we get an official English print. 💚

Final Volume of Long-Running Yuri Series 'Himawari-san' to be Released in Japanese

The 13th and final volume of Manami Sugano long-running Yuri romance series Himawari-san is scheduled for release in Japan on August 23. The series was serialized in Comic Alive from 2009 until its conclusion in March 2022.

Himawari-san follows an energetic high school student Matsuri, who falls in love with Himawari, the older manager of a bookstore across the street from her school.

12 collected volumes of the series are currently published by Media Factory in Japan. An audio drama adaptation of the series was released in 2015. The series is currently not licensed in English.

Manami Sugano is a Japanese mangaka known for her series PUZZLE+ and Himawari-san. Her she has contributed to multiple Tales anthologies and Yuri anthologies Yoiko-san to Furyou Sensie and Yuri-Drill.

GL Manga Recs:

Review: This was such a good read!!! They live in a hell hole and basically find solace in each other and it's just so good. I recommend this a lot! Do look up the trigger warnings for this.

Summary: Young cafe worker Yuki dreams of romance and a life far more wonderful than her own, but has no way to do anything but hope for the future – but a chance encounter with the beautiful, mysterious authoress Azuma Beniko, a woman who seems to know love like the back of her hand, might change the very way she looks at the world…

Review: They're so cutee!!! I genuinely wish it didn't get rushed near the end but I still liked it a lot.

This Monster Wants to Eat Me by Naekawa Sai

Summary: “I’ve come to eat you.” So softly utters the mermaid Shiori as she emerges from the sea and takes high school girl Hinako by the hand. Hinako lives alone in a town by the sea and possesses an unusually delicious body that is irresistible to nearby monsters. To ensure that she matures to the best condition, Shiori seeks to protect Hinako—all so that someday, she can devour every piece of her. What will become of Hinako’s feelings as this looming unjust death closes in on her…?

Review: I have so many thoughts about this manga! It's doomed yuri and has horror elements! The characters are also very well written! I highly recommend this! However I do recommend looking up the trigger warnings before reading this.

If We Leave on the Dot by Ayu Inui

Summary: Yukawa comes into the office and always hangs up her coat on the rack; most others just sling it over their chairs. That may be because Yukawa is proper, but maybe because she loves receiving handwritten notes from her coworker Mizuki. Until recently, Yukawa only knew Mizuki and her sweet vanilla scent from afar, but one day she was able to befriend her after a mix up with their coats. Since then, Mizuki communicates with Yukawa and asks her to go out after work via pen, paper, and coat. They never make plans ahead of time, nor do they even know each other's phone numbers. As Yukawa navigates her feelings and learns more about Mizuki, will their relationship blossom into more than whatever it is right now?

Review: This was soo adorable! It's an office GL. It's very wholesome. They communicate a whole lot and they start dating very early on so there's lots of dating content!

Kurai Mori, Shiroi Michi by Chiyu Yoshida

Summary: In a small, lonely country town, a depressed young woman has a bittersweet encounter with a blind girl.

Review: This felt very incomplete. I wish it had more of a better epilogue but it was still a good read.

Mizuiro Cinema by Hiyori Otsu

Status: Completed

Summary: Aqua Blue Cinema is about an actress and a girl she meets through unusual circumstances.

Review: A very cute read!
