The Gerri and Roman scene hurt me not only because the highest compliment you could pay Roman is to say he’s like Logan, which Gerri knows, and she can’t even let him believe that she’ll believe it, it’s because Gerri was the one who saw something in Roman before anyone else did, it’s because at one point, she did believe he could be excellent at this position, she did have some sort of faith in him and he’s realizing that’s gone. And for Gerri’s part, Roman never once doubted her competency or skill or contribution to the company and now he’s making digs about her being rusty, about her being old and they’re just finding all the sensitive spots, all the right ways to hurt each other and it made me so sad.
