I think when your favorite character from a show that's main focus is diversity, acceptance and the experiences of minority groups is the white colonizers that's a red flag.

The picture of edas friends as children, reminding us that all these adults, allies and villains alike, were once children. A few of them like alador and darius were able to see whats wrong and fight for a better world. But people like odalia sided with the emperor until it was too late because thats the only thing theyve ever known. And then it cuts to adult lilith and raine and shows how a lifetime of living under this system has sapped the joy out of them. How as kids they never would have thought to make their last stand against they system thats been there their whole lives. But if you choose genocide along with your own determination, that will triggering Chara's bad memory of how worse of humanity been treat them (as what Asriel says to Frisk after you beat true pacifist), that will lead and to encourage you to eliminate everyone, onto destruction of this world instead

Both route has the same of awaken them because the power of your determination. You and them arent not so different afterall.

Agreed anon. You and me this is why l almost never look for megop fics really. Most of time they write Optimus as a prop for Megatron. Especialy tfa, prime and idw suffer this from the most.

Coolsans IS so much more.

I'm about to go on a HUGE fucking rant about the extended universe that isnt... yet... and may never be.

Coolsans is the primordial god of potential, which means he is the physical and abstract embodiment of the concept of potential.

He was born like most other gods. Endless void between universes cataclysmic occurrence, and POOF there he was, formless, but alive, and thinking.

He wonders for a good few billion years, before learning that the windows he saw leading into other worlds were actually doors he could go through.

Skip around a few "years" (a lot longer actually) and he is now roughly 13 years old mentally. He travels from dimension to dimension beating up heroes and villains and all.

A this point, coolsans has no clue of who he is, who he's SUPPOSED to be. But some of his powers have already manifested, namely the "bit" system. Upon defeating any foe, he gains their "bit" basically a copy of the defeated foes power, some of their personality traits too.

By absorbing these bits he can use those powers flawlessly, as if he was the original bearer.

It's with one of these bits, that he duplicates himself infinitely, and tells all these replicas to just "have fun" across the omniverse. Some end up becoming tyrants, villians.. Some become great heroes, protectors. Some are more normal, just regular people.

BuT one thing remains consistent. None of them rape, murder anyone (aside from those they deem, irredimable), nor engage in any paraphilic desires.

This is our first glimpse into the truth or coolsans, even now at what is arguably his most awful version, he still won't go THAT low

Skip around a whole bunch of smaller events, including an altercation with sonic.exe, which was probably coolsans's first actual fight. He doesn't even use X's bit, as he knew it would alter his personality to be even more psychopatic.

And that's another point, coolsans is extremely insane. He revels in the pain of others, and in mentally destroying his enmeies by giving them false hope that they CAN win, before crushing them instantly. At least that's how he was, before...

Eventually he ends up in the world of Undertale, and decides to go in without any powers.now you'd think he'd just genocide his way through, possibly even being worse than your average geno playthrough.

Instead, something compels him to spare first.

And it's this one choice, this one moment that spirals into coolsans, becoming... me.

For the first time, as he gives peace a chance, and interacts with these monsters... these people, something sparks withing coolsans. The potential for... humanity.

And once he makes it to the end of Undertale, he doenst want to commit genocide. So he does EVERYTHING else.

Every single thing undertale has to offer, every FUN value interaction, every ending, secret, and possible combination of those.

Until he has nothing left to do.

He kills them all, and feels guilty and remorse. The worst part is that by now he knows that there WILL be consequences. But when faced with those consequences in the form of Chara. he refuses.

E fights Chara using as many boys as he could access before the connection was cut, and wins. Then he restores the world and does a TRUE reset, erasing even characs memories.

Then he achieves what no one else ever has, and ever will. He obtains the PERFECT Undertale ending. Chara and asriel are brought back.

It not gaster, as coolsans knows that gaster would blow the whole secret of him commiting genocide put of th water.

He secret of his powers and origina was something he could care less about though.

He tells sans, asriel, and Chara, and says that now he wants to redeem himself of what he's done before (though never mentions the geno route)

They decide to help him, and the four go through many adventures.

Across the way they even recruit a Sonic (regular sonic, not an exe) before entering a tournament that will decide who will be the next recruits at the super omniverse police.

The tournament is led by a so called "fat yoshi" the and god of MEMES. This is the first time coolsans meets another god, even without knowing of his own origin.

In the Tournament are some of the most powerful meme characters, such as emo peter/bully Maguire, one jump man Luigi, and most powerful of all, ultra instinct shaggy

Now while all of these characters have backatories and importance in their themes etc. We are for using on coolsans for now, reblog and comment if you want me to talk about them if you want me to focus on them later.

skipping the entire arc, which is more like a battle royale than a tournament. Ita revealed at the end, after coolsans and shaggy end up going n an eternal loop of shaggy going to a higher percentage of power, while coolsans adds more kaioken multipliers, fat yoshi steps in and defeats them with a single finger.

He Then tells everyone that the tournament wasn't actually going to decide anything, no matter who won they were all going to enter the ranks anyway. It was just o gauge how strong they were and rank them appropriately.

Lost story short coolsans and the others enter the super space omniverse police. And go on to have more adventures. But to coolsans something seems off about fat yoshi, and his involvement in all of the missions.

Now I think I've shared enough of coolsans for now, and besides that's where season one wraps up, if any of you are interested in me telling you more about coolsans story, better knows as "the coolsans show" then please reblog and say so, or I won't be able to know.

I think I'll always be a little bitter that the fan favorite run of idw1 kinda just threw away some of the interesting aspects of characters like Rodimus and Prowl and simplified them into more one note, dickish assholes/war criminals respectively for the sake of putting Megatron on a pedestal.

I'll always be extremely salty about the ending where Rodimus is just an alcoholic... for reasons? I think there was a lot to do with Rodimus and exploring the idea of Primacy post war, post Optimus, in a time where the retrospective on the Autobots is not exactly uncritical or even kind to them.

I think there was something really interesting about following Rodimus' identity journey kinda in parallel with that of the Autobots. With Rodimus learning more about his faction and Optimus and coming to find a kind of peace within himself as he learns to stop idolizing a past that never really was.

I always felt like Rodimus was kept super childish and not really allowed to progress past his flaws for the sake of Megatron's character arc. It really does feel like hes kept a bumbling unlikeable idiot to help redeem the unredeemable and I've always found it really frustrating.

I think Megatron in idw1 is really only a character we can explore, instead of redeem. Maybe even humanize a bit. But the plot really feels like it is reaching hard to try and make Megatron into something he isnt, while also making sure we understand he was a genocidal dictator who directly created mecha that delighted in bloodlust and torture.

I'm not opposed to Roddy being a flawed, bordering unlikeable character. He makes some huge mistakes and is a massive idiot even before the fan favorite run. But not in service of a worse character's faux-redemption arc that kinda just glosses over genocide and woobys one of the most vicious and hateable guys through out idw1. It does bug me, quite a bit LMAO.

I love that he's such a legend and a hero but also very very much Just Some Guy. But he's also NOT a complete moron and just. I could go on about him all day. No thoughts only Goku supremacy.

i have no specific beef with vegeta in cannon and in fact i think he's kind of funny and kind of interesting (sometimes) but speaking purely as a mascot for his fans well. I would put him in the toilet. vegeta gets stanned by THE most annoying people on the planet to THE most rabid degree where no one can even point out the obvious flaws about him without fearing for their lives ALSO his schtick got kind of old after awhile. I just saw the most INSANE discourse that FIRST was like:

Alternatives to redemption arc:

‘i hope this character never recieves love or forgiveness’

‘i hope this character kills themseves because of the harm they’ve done.’

‘i hope this character is redeemed through heroic sacrife of death’

And I was about to reblog it because those are all genuinely good ideas for writing a narrative if you don’t want to use the same cheesy happy ending, or if your villain deserves comeuppance.

But then I look at the notes and it’s all people talking about how “THESE ARE SO AWFUL, thats BARBARIC. the fact people want this for villains in a story is proof SOCIETY is PURITAIN and CRUMBLING”

Like…. do y’all think that all villains are woobified, poor meow meow empathetic babies?

What if I want to write a genocidal maniac. Or a pedophile. Or a serial rapist. Or an oil baron that destroys the climate of an entire planet.

I don’t imagine you’d be pleading me to give them a positive redemption arc or whining because im not being ‘fair’ to my OWN CHARACTERS.

If I want to write a villain who is a childhood abuser and who in the end gets castrated and bleeds to death, I’m gonna do it.

And If a character in a piece of media destroys an entire planet, or race of people, or commits an atrocious act I deem unforgiveable, I can say they don’t deserve a redemption arc.

That’s not some huge statement about the nature of forgiveness in this world, if a writer wants to to punish a villain, they can do it however they want.

If a fan wants to cancel a character and say they’re shit and they don’t deserve a second chance, they can. It’s not a statement on the world at large.

Unlike the people who stockpile shota or incest porn and claim ‘fiction isnt reality’, this is an ACTUAL situation where the way people interact with media has nothing to do with anything.

One thing that annoys the hell out of me is when reylos try to say that Kylo somehow is innocent just because it was Palpatine who destroyed the Jedi Temple (as confirmed in the rise of kylo ren comics). Like just because he didn't kill children directly doesn't mean he's innocent, seemingly everyone likes to forget what happened to Hosnian Prime and how Kylo was complicit in killing BILLIONS of people, including CHILDREN. And even if someone were to argue he disagreed with the destruction of that entire system, then WHY did we never see him ever show any remorse for that? He has shown at least some remorse for everything EXCEPT the billions of people he let die.

But I guess everyone just pins it on Hux because he gave the order and created starkiller, but then seemingly ignores that Kylo Ren was second in command and could have said a million different things to at least lessen the disaster but no. He didn't because just like how he decided to murder an entire village, he didn't care if billions of people died because he's a terrible person who never deserved redemption. And you can't even compare it to Vader because Vader WASN'T redeemed or forgiven by victims of his evil like Leia, he was only redeemed by his son. Kylo Ren however directly hurt Rey, her friends and those she considered family (Han and Leia) but then I'm supposed to believe Rey forgives him and that he never contributed to essentially a genocide. Yeah no.

they’ll do everything in their power to take responsibility off his shoulders to make themselves feel better (which is dumb considering these are the people that are like waaah let us like villains like ok then stop acting like he isnt one). the whole thing is absurd, whether they believe it or not, it’s canon that kylo ren was at the very least complicit in these acts if not directly responsible. he does things that he knows will make them happen and does nothing to stop it.
