GEN1 ARIES | Ariel has always been an independent and confident person. Even since childhood, she knew what she wanted to do and had a plan to get there. This is Proteus! He’s a rather ancient manticore and a war-torn battle tactician. He’s long since retired, and now spends his time working as a mercenary alongside a bunch of equally clan-less dragons. While not everyone in the group is a merc for hire, they all make their time exploiting other dragons for some sort of profit. Proteus can shape-change into a dragon if he needs to, but he mostly keeps to his true form. After all, like most older manticores, his size rivals that of a large Pearlcatcher, and he’s taken down a guardian single-handedly in the past.

Dr. Garza: Dawn, maybe we should— Dawn: Just give him one more minute. He said he’d be here, he’ll be here. Dr. Garza: Okay, but I do have another appointment after this. We can’t wait much longer. Dawn: I understand. I’m sure he’s close.

Phoenix: Hi. Dawn: There you are. Where have you been? Phoenix: Traffic, I’m sorry, I got here as fast as I could.

Dr. Garza: Let’s go ahead and get started. I’ve looked over your lab results, and everything looks great. I have a copy for you to look over, and I’m happy to answer any questions if you have them, but I don’t see anything concerning. Dawn: Ok, great. Dr. Garza: Now, I understand you wanted to discuss fertility options, and the possibility of IVF? Dawn: That’s right.

Dr. Garza: Well, I’m afraid we can’t pursue that at this time because, according to your bloodwork… Dawn, you’re already pregnant. Dawn: I’m sorry, what? Phoenix: Are you sure? Dr. Garza: I’m sure.

Dawn: I don’t understand. I haven’t felt… I’m not sick. Last time I was so sick. Dr. Garza: Symptoms can vary between pregnancies. Your circumstances now are also very different now than they were then. And you may still develop symptoms.   Dawn: Right. So, do we know if… I mean, what are the chances... [voice cracks] I’m sorry. Dr. Garza: [handing Dawn a tissue] It’s okay. Given your history, I’ve booked the ultrasound so we can check on the health of the baby today and get an idea of how far along you are. I have no reason to believe there’s anything wrong at this point, okay?

[Dawn nods, wiping her eyes]

Dr. Garza: Like last time, we’ll do a transvaginal ultrasound. You’ll want to empty your bladder, and then undress from the waist down. I’ll leave a gown here for you and be back in a few minutes. Dawn: Okay. Thank you.

Dawn: You’re awfully quiet. Are you okay? Phoenix: Yeah. Just nervous. Are you okay? Dawn: I think so. I can’t believe we’re here again. How fertile are you? Phoenix: [laughs] We’ve been having unprotected sex for like four years and you’ve gotten pregnant twice. I don’t think that speaks highly of my fertility. Dawn: It does for me. Phoenix: I guess.

Dr. Garza: Are you ready? Dawn: I’m ready. Dr. Garza: Great. This will be a little cold, but just try to relax. If you experience any pain or discomfort, or if you want to stop at any time, just let me know, okay? Dawn: Okay.

Dawn: Is this really happening? Phoenix: [sniffles] Yeah, it’s really happening.

Dawn: I can’t believe it. We’re going to have a baby.

I was rewatching some scenes from the first Pokémon movie and

Could it be that Clone!Meowth didn't agree with Mewtwo's ideals unlike other clones because Og!Meowth was observing him and expressing affection towards him before he was born? In a way, Clone!Meowth knew that Og!Pokémon aren't guilty of anything and that they can care about clones, because he could probably feel Og!Meowth's emotions while he was getting ready to be born. Clone!Meowth exists for a mistake, never planned by Mewtwo, yet Meowth soon grows attached to him because obviously he sees himself in this kitten that has yet to come to life.

Also, it's a pretty sweet coincidence that in the og Japanese, Clone!Meowth simply points out that the moon looks round, which might be a reference to how in EP070 (Go West Young Meowth!) it is shown that Meowth's very first memory as a kitten was being alone meowing at the full moon. EP070 was broadcasted several months after the release of the movie in Japan, but I can see the two scenes being a reference to each other considering the first movie is canon to Ash's anime timeline. Plus, when it comes to Meowth's scene, Clone!Meowth cannot talk, and the reason why is actually explained in EP070 (because Meowth wasn't born talking but forced himself to learn how to), so I do believe the writing (at the very least) for EP070 was already finalized when the movie came out.

On the opposite end, there's Clone!Pikachu who is pretty aggressive and hateful because Pikachu himself was an asshole who hated being "used" by humans before he grew fond of Ash, so he pretty much agrees with Mewtwo's stance. Pikachu also probably saw himself in Clone!Pikachu, what he could've become had he not surrendered to Ash's love.

I think Pikachu's refusal to fight isn't just a matter of him being the good guy, but because he feels sorrow as he sees a glimpse of his past self in Clone!Pikachu.

This inner conflict is also pointed out by Team Rocket:

Aries:  Today I bought my first house...sort of... more like i bought a mailbox and some walls...but that’s okay because this is my home.

It was the first time Aries Zodiac had ever been on her own. She had spent the first 18 years of her life being passed around from foster homes to group homes until she had finally gotten enough money saved that when the time came she could head to college. Now 21 and finally ready to be out on her own, Aries used the little bit of money she had saved up from her job as a tutor to purchase this giant piece of land. 

She was going to put her mark on this small town of Newcrest. Even if it meant starting with barely anything. The first few weeks were hard. It was awkward to have friends over and by friends we mean random people who walk by the house and want to look at the weird little box that is sitting on this enormous plot. 

Finally Aries determined it was time to actually get out and get a job. She had gone to school for computers and was extremely good with finding out whatever she needed to know about people. After a few top agencies scouted her, Aries finally landed on becoming a spy. It seemed to fit exactly what she was looking for in life. Some danger, some excitement and eventually a lot of money. 

She got dressed in her best outfit and headed down to the headquarters for her interview. A few weeks later she got a call back and they told her “congratulations!” She was now on her way to becoming a super spy...

If only she could have more success with her house and maybe making a friend or two.
