Gen heir overview
With all our gen 6 heirs now aged up into at least teens, it is time for a gen overview again.
First is Felix Akiyama for the family dynamics, he is al ready a young adult and so his gen has officially started
Second is Finley Dove of the Whimsey Stories challenge
and last is Fiona Tinker of my NSB challenge.
I am so excited to start gen 6 for my three challenges, I am over half way done 💪💪💪

Welcome baby Chifuyu to the family !!
After the birth of Chifuyu, Mila discovered that she is no longer fertile. She is very grateful for being able to give birth to him. I got the name Chifuyu from this manga I finished reading called Tokyo Revengers. One of my favorite characters is Chifuyu, so in honor of him I called Mila and Kiyoshi's child Chifuyu. His name means "thousand" 千 (chi) and "winter" 冬 (fuyu). For the challenge you can give your children winter themed names. So that's his winter name c:
Side note: while she was in labor they constantly were kissing every second. I had Mila get something to eat from the cafeteria and Kiyoshi had a kissing action queued up. I’ve got the more kisses mod installed, and they were constantly being super affectionate with each other. And then he had to go to work. So I just let him go, but when she was fully dilated I made him come back to the hospital and be there for the birth. (Low quality pictures below. But, overall, I’m very happy with how things are going. And Mila recently turned into an adult so I’m going to focus on her aspiration and trying to complete her optional requirements as much as I can.
Seeing as Chifuyu is still an infant, and has a long time before becoming a teen/young adult. And by the time he does, Kiyoshi and Mila will be aging into elders. I'm really going to be devastated when they become elders. I have my neighborhood stories on, but I turned off that accidental death function so no one I'm close to can die. I hate when I check it while my sims are sleeping and I see some sim die because they fought with a chicken or something. I will NOT let that happen. I am using Simkhira's lifespan ♡ so I can take my time with each generation and not feel too rushed. I'm going to do my best in completing the optional requirements as well.

Required:
✓ Any partner must be a good friend before you start romancing them
✓ Never cheat on a partner
✓ You must never initiate a breakup or divorce, but your partner can if it fits the story
☐ Never go down without a fight - if anyone is negative towards you first, you must use at least three mean or mischievous actions straight away
✓ Master any extreme sport
✓ Have at least two tattoos
✓ Dye your hair a bright colour at least twice in your YA life
✓ Get pregnant/get someone pregnant from public woohoo
☐ When your first born child is a toddler, adopt a puppy. When this dog becomes an elder, adopt another puppy so you have two dogs in your household. You should keep repeating this so your children always have at least two dogs in the house.
✓ Reach at least level 7 of the politics career
☐ Reach at least level 3 of the extreme sports enthusiast aspiration

Gen 1 families overview
Now that the gen 2 kids are starting to get older, I'm going to stop focusing on the gen 1 kids and will probably remove them from my game. However, i am going to talk about how they are doing and where im leaving them. Just FYI, I don't let my non heir sims have more than 6 kids even if they are quiverfull. Bye gen 1
Carley's family
(First up is Carley and Trent they have 6 kids because I don't let non heirs have more than that, but if they could, they would have much more. All of their kids, but one will be fundie. Their 3 oldest kids are married, and they feel very self righteous about how watcherly their kids are. Trent is now a junior pastor at their church, and they are very comfortable for a fundie family.)
Asher's family
(Asher and Roxana are doing great they have had minimal contact with Asher's more fundie family since Esther's phone call all those years ago, and they couldn't be happier. They have very stable teaching jobs in Evergreen Harbor and a great church that they attend. Their daughter Emma recently graduated from BU with a business degree, and she is getting her real estate license. Sadly, their dog Emma 2 passed sometime while Emma was in college, and they miss her dearly.)
Rebecca's Family
(Rebecca and Annabel are still enjoying life in San My but are now looking for a move to del sol valley for Annabel's beginning acting career. They are still madly in love with each other and can't wait to see where life takes them next. Rebecca has also begun writing a series of romance novels that audiences are loving.)
Leah's family
(Leah and Ismael live relatively average fundie lives in their little community in Sulani. After some consideration, they decided to just have 2 children. Little do they know that Kaylie is getting more and more annoyed with her upbringing and that on top of realizing she likes women. She is already planning her escape when she goes to college. They don't have to worry about little Sophia though. She is already buying into the fundie plan and will give them no problems.)
Malachi Family
(Malachi has been doing great he and a couple of buddies have opened a gym in the spice district, and it's doing very well. He and his long-term girlfriend Kari are doing great, and they have started looking at rings together.)
Dayton's Family
(Dayton and Denise are chilling they are slightly more religious than Asher but still not fundie. Denise works a simple desk job at a company that does business or something. Dayton makes canoes and sells them at various craft shows. Jett, their oldest, attends a watcherly private school, and the younger ones are in public school. Virtually none of their 4 kids will have much to do with religion, and they will be pretty ok with that)
Beck's Family
(Beck and Everly are living a strict life as junior pastors at Oasis Springs. first church of watcher and poor Everly is miserable all ready. They have 4 kids right now, but they would definitely have more in the future. And thanks to the crazy strict household, none of their kids are getting out of fundie land...yay)
Isobel's Family
(Isobel is loving her life. Lillian has been such an easy kid and is so funny. Isobel does freelance hairstyling and has a simstagram for her business, and Damien works for his dad insurance company. They still live in a mansion in Del Sol and are so happy that Rebecca and Annabel might be moving there)
(Also, Oliver and Allison are elders now)

► BERRY PASTEL RAINBOWCY - UPDATED VERSION ◄
It is finally here! After weeks of working on this challenge, I can finally say that I am done and ready to start playing 👀 But first, let me introduce you to the challenge!
After the ungodly amount of love I received after sharing the NSB updated rules, I figured why not continue this trend and update one of my favorite berry legacies on this planet! Similarly to the NSB updated rules, I wanted to make the Berry Pastel Rainbowcy challenge by @berrysweetboutique more challenging and add content from the newer packs to the challenge to make it more current. That being said, this challenge first and foremost belongs to Berry, who kindly gave me permission to share this updated rules version of her beloved legacy challenge!
► WHAT ABOUT THE RULES? ◄
Similarly to the NSB updated challenge, the rules will be posted in a google document for easy access and to enable me to edit the rules whenever I want/need to. In the google document, I have listed the original rules as well so you are able to choose between playing with the original rules or playing with the updated rules. Also, this gives you an overview of what changed and what remained the same. Feel free to skip or add objectives as you play, you don’t have to stick to the objectives I’ve laid out for you, but they’re there if you would like to play around with them!

Generation One: White
Growing up you’ve always been the creative mind of your family, the outcast, with your head in the clouds. You didn’t really have anyone to relate to but your parents though, since you’ve lived a rather sheltered life… When things get rough, you decide to get away from your overbearing parent(s) and seek refuge in the family’s vacation home. With no job and thus no income, you try to make the best of things by growing your own crops to eat and sell your art for money. Love doesn’t come easy for you and your love-live is a bit of a mess, but all in all you’ll have a big happy family you’ve always dreamt of!

career: none (earn money through selling paintings and foragables)

your lot has to have the Simple Living lot challenge (cooking is cheaper but depends on what you’ve got in your inventory; you need to forage your ingredients)
max gardening skill (you are allowed to sell foregables for income too)
besides painting, you also enjoy the outdoors and will have multiple different animals on your small farm. Choose between the following animals (can choose multiple animals)
A cow
A llama
A bunny
A chicken
A cat
A dog
A rodent
Max the relationship with all of your animals
As you grow up into adulthood (adult or elder), either max the knitting skill or the cross-stitch skill because you need to start knitting some clothing for all your grandchildren!
become good friends with all 5 children and at least 2 grandchildren

I love your sims and your story. I'm still getting familiar and playing catch up. Do you have a character page for your oc's? Are the Blackburns a side story you play? Sorry so many questions. I'm trying to read current at the same time going backwards.
Hi there! Thank you so much for stopping by and catching up with my sims and their stories. You really made my night! I wish I had a character page but I'm not quite there yet. My pinned post is my best attempt at organizing and where you can get an overview of what's going on.
Basically the current star of the show is Bailey Kay and she's the second generation heir of my legacy. I would suggest starting at the beginning of her story here if you want to know the entire history. No need to go back to Gen 1 unless you have lots of time lol. The side stories I'm playing are Bailey's sister Arya, and her ex now just friends Ayden.
Bailey is married to Quinton Blackburn who was created by an amazing storyteller @therichantsim The Blackburns are her OCs and story/legacy. You can find a little explanation of our collab and link to her story here.

Starting with the Gen 3 Heir, Lynette (middle): Lynette loves all things sweet and wants to run a successful bakery. She has a close knit group of friends, who she considers to be her second family.
Ashwin and Sonam Peanuts (top right): They are Lynette’s parents. Ashwin is a successful non-fiction writer, while Sonam is a master mixologist. They both have a deep love of cooking. see their wedding photos here.
John-Henry, Araceli, and Alexis (top right): John-Henry is Lynette’s uncle (Ashwin’s younger brother). He has been best friends with Araceli since they were teens and together they’re raising their daughter, Lexi. John-Henry is a Scientist who has a penchant for mischief and traveling the solar system.
John-Henry and Darion (bottom left): These two are currently an item. Darion became pregnant after they WooHoo’d in a rocket ship. Together they are raising their son, Ashley.
Roshan, Ava and Paul (lower right): Roshan is Lynette’s other uncle (Ashwin’s youngest brother). He lives in the city with his wife and son. They are a musical family who always brighten up family gatherings. Wedding photos here!

its been a busy fuckin week for this mod my ladz!!!
i thought i would just give an end of week run down how everything is going, everything added so far and my to do list!
also discord!!! and patreon!!! but i’ll talk abt that after this!!
a general run down if u dnt know what this wip mod is:
The Royalty Mod gives your sims the opportunity to being the reigning Monarch of your game. They have the chance to become a Beloved Ruler or a Despised Tyrant (and will be treated as such!)
They will be completely in control of a custom tax system, will the be benevolent and keep the taxes low or be greedy and fill their coffers with their subject’s simoleans? Be careful though, your actions will affect your citizens and their views of you!
Your Monarch will be the most important piece of the puzzle, as they will be able to give titles to family and friends... or even a random street vendor. Having your Monarch bestow titles such as Crown Royals, Royal Partners, Servants, Court Wizards and more, keeps you out of CAS and IN your game! No more stopping and starting your gameplay!
A general overview of everything included so far:
Monarch:
- A custom Heir system: Your Monarch can choose anyone bestowed with the title of Crown Royal or Royal Partner to become the next in line to the throne! And if they decide they made a mistake, the Heir can be disowned :((( sad lyfe
As soon as the Monarch passes away, the Heir will automatically claim the throne!
- If your Monarch dies before they get a chance to name an heir, then any Crown Royal or Royal Partner can vie for the throne. Whoever the people choose (gets to reputation level 6 - very good) first, will become the next Monarch!
- Teens and up can become the Monarch, (lookin at u edward the 6th)
- Custom tax system! Raise taxes to get more money instantly and in your weekly tax collection, but incur the ire of your subjects! Lower taxes and you will lose money and earn less each week but your subjects will love you!
- Your Monarch will draw a crowd wherever they go! Even with no fame points they’ll attract a mass of adoring onlookers. (But no paparazzi for my historical players)
- Make world-wide decrees
- Listen to your subjects pressing concerns by telling your Trusted Advisor that you will hold a hearing, get that gud gud karma!!
- Make anyone a Crown Royal!
- Make the land celebrate your own birthday with a new Monarch’s Birthday tradition, with custom goals to be met!
- Don’t walk like the rest of these peasants, make sure to enable your royal stride to royally stand out from the crowd. Not enough? Enable your regal glow to really drive home that you’re better than everyone else!
- Royal greetings!
- Allow your subjects to commence Sunday trading on a lot with the Market lot trait! Townies will come and man the stalls every sunday 9-3 and the royal family can peruse and purchase to their hearts content!
-probably more that im forgetting!!!
Heirs, Crown Royals & Royal Partners:
- Titles are bestowed by the monarch, crown royals & heirs can be titled at birth and Royal Partners can be titled after marriage!
- Both can be named as Heir, and both can vie for the throne if the Monarch dies unexpectedly!
- Your Monarch can make anyone a Crown Royal, so if you gameplayed that your Monarch adopted a poor orphan kid, then they can have a shot at the throne too!
- All have multiple different social and skill modifiers, so they can make new friends fast and be better at everything than them!
- Also all have their own socials
- ALSO all can be completely banished from the royal family
- u can defo marry into the royal family if u wanted, and make ur peasant family the next gen of royals ;)))
- loads more but im so tired
Trusted Advisor:
- Your Monarch will choose their trusted advisor! they advice! u on stuff! so choose wisely!
- everything about taxes, beginning situations, domestic affair (and planning to add LOADS more) goes thru ur advisor, just like it does in real life and by real life i mean i think i just made that up
- way more 2 come bros
- brand spankin new custom animations!!!!!!!!!!
Planned to Add (p much the same as last post):
- unlockable interactions based on skills such as charisma
- bad monarch reputation and tyrant trait to have the possibility of triggering a revolt???

anyway i said i would talk abt patreon so here it is!!!
first things first, let me just say that no, i absolutely do not think i am entitled to a single cent of anyone’s money!!! I would/will still put 110% into this mod and my future mods because I absolutely love doing this.
At the moment I’m currently working on this mod about 8-10 hours a day, 5 days a week (animations bruh), which is kinda insane. but I want this to be everything everyone’s wanted from EA for years.

Gen 2 recap
The next posts are going to provide a brief overview/catch-up of Gen 2 of the Cooper legacy. If you want to read from the beginning the link is in the gameplay section of my blog.
Gen 2 Heir - Bonnie Cooper
Bonnie or Bee is Agnes and Echo’s second-born child and was always the caring, lighthearted, loving child of the five siblings. Never caught making a mess or being mean she was by far their easiest child. With her love for animals and helping others, to her proficiency in the scouts, I thought she would be the best person for the job of carrying on the family legacy! and the museum!
I started the Build a Community challenge with this family and I am going to be continuing with some aspects. I will still be adding sims/families made for me by followers and the main goal of this legacy will be to complete all collections and showcase them in the family museum! The other aspects however I will not be continuing with, I was finding it too confusing, difficult to focus and show all of the different aspects of the challenge.

Storyline -
In the year 2045, the real world is a harsh place. Personal Overview -
When suggested to watch Ready Player One I was hesitant, It didn’t seem like a movie I would be particularly interested in. I thought the length of 2hr 20mins was way too long, and would become boring with unnecessary scenes. This wasn’t the case. Every scene played a important role in the story progression.
The film illustrated our present and future reality of how where constantly stuck behind our screens, living a world full of our desires and the importance of face-to-face social interaction.
Suggested for -
Age: 13 - 35 years.
Genres - Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi, + mixture of all.
Social Groups: Gamers, Teenagers, Sci-Fi lovers, Animation lovers.

AND IT’S DONE
FINALLY
AFTER 66 HOURS but actually 2 around 3 years, I FINISHED FE4!
My thoughts about the game?
Well, if Jugdral Echoes is a thing, the plot will need to be revamped and seriously, because if people were pissed at Celica being slapped by Connie, Julia’s total erasure from the plot, from the beginning to the epilogue, is going to make everyone go nuts
More seriously, I am actually impressed that a 1996 game can actually be this enjoyable/good, even if it falls into abyssal pitfalls near the end and a lot of things are just magically resolved. (actually, RD came in the 2010s and its ending was rushed as well, 20 years later and we still don’t know how to end continental-scope games!)
That is why, and I will never stress it enough, but please play, or at least read FE5′s script.
FE4 set the background for the famous Jugdral Saga, but on its own, it’s a bit lacking.

Lacking as in, it doesn’t answer to everything, or if it does, it’s in a roundabout way, straight out contradicting itself at times (Ares fulfilled Eldie’s dream? Was Eldie dreaming of unifying Augstria? Or I forgot a crucial part of the game?? - the way the Thracian conflict is depicted - should we really be here - but at the end, everyone and their cats are “happy” to see Leif on the United Kingdom’s throne?).
And that’s where FE5 enters. It only talks about the peninsula, but the way the game is potrayed, you can guess how it went, or at least seriously challenge the view FE4 tries to paint.
And this is the reason why the Jugdral Saga is great.
FE4 doesn’t care about civil wars in Agustria, in the end Ares became King, and the new Kingdom became one of Granvalle’s allies.
FE5 presents Miranda, and some randoms who don’t really want to be under Leif’s rule/leadership. But in the end, Leif assumed said leadership, and became the King, not only of an united Manster, but of the United Thracian Kingdom.
FE4 gives us the end results. FE5 gives us the means to those results.
I have other many things to write about FE4 in itself, both positive and negative even if rn it’s a bit negative because WTF Julia’s husband can’t talk her out of her berserk state when Manfroy is dead but you have to send Seliph to talk to her what is this madness and let’s not talk about how Azelle’s son claims to be the last member of House Velthomer when Julia is the heir of it’s last lord! but with the 20 minutes post ending hindsight I now have :
FE4 isn’t the second coming of Jesus FE some think, even if, and i repeat, making this huge story-driven game in 1996 makes me respect Kaga even more, and as everyone pointed out some years/months/times ago, the 1st gen is where everything truly shines.
FE4 isn’t that much of a slog to play, and yes game balance will be introduced later in the series.
However, FE4 isn’t a game with a lot of nuanced and well-written antagonists, bar Arvis (?) and Travant everyone is comically evil, or too generic for us to care. I mean, I am more touched at the Wolfguard’s plight (not being recuitable in FE3 iirc?) than at, idk, Ishtore’s death.
And even if I will stan Scipio through the depths of reddit itself, he was just there. Is this supposed to be the Jungby closure? Both he and Burian were underwhelming, and that makes me disappointed. For all the “genealogy” aspect of the game (Seliph’s friends join his quest because their parents were Siggy’s friends!) the threads left in the 1st gen are not closed at the end of the game. Or they magically are in the epilogue.
At least Scipio’s dad mentionned him in his death quote, unlike Ares’ dad
tldr : FE4 is a good game but the Jugdral Saga turns great with FE5, and if Jugdral Echoes is to be thing, FE4 will need to be massively revamped.
Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t want Jamke’s son to inherit Verdane and have it in the epilogue only mentionned as the land of Deedee’s tears and Siggy’s prayers. It deserves better. The first chapter were we learnt the intrigue, Sandima and Manfroy’s first victim (read victim country) needs better than this *** ending.

A lookback at 2018
I’ve been on Tumblr for almost a year now. Wow. It does and doesn’t feel that long at the same time. Very weird concept. I used the mega editor to take a quick look at the overview of my blog and wrote down any memorable moments that stood out to me :)
This was more for myself than anyone else, but maybe you all will find it interesting too.
Feb: I started my blog in February of this year. I had never used Tumblr before then. I had no idea what I was doing and mostly just posted a lot of weird edits.
March: I think this is when I found other simblrs telling stories with their sims and I really wanted to try that out too. I posted Vanille’s intro and tried and failed with the Ice Cream Simdae and BPR that month.. quit them both and deleted the posts... wish I hadn’t now lol..... I also started sim requests and got 6 that month (by the way sim requests are pretty much always open). The tail end of March is when I hit 100 followers, which is still CRAZY to me to even think.
April: More sim requests. A couple that were on Tumblr that on it that persons game <333333. Sienna for @jelizabethmarieb and Orpheus for @seraphinabelle! Also “doot doot” anon was a thing. I requested my first sim from @seraphinabelle, who will still be around a little once I get back to my Musique Des Sims. It was my birthday, I posted my face for the first time, and I hit 200 followers (CRAZINESS)
May: May is when I really kicked it into gear when I started my 100 baby challenge. I don’t think I’ve missed a day by accident since I started posting it. I think. It has been a real blast playing with this colorful family. We’re on gen 3 and honestly, I haven’t gotten sick of it. Some of my favorite sims have come out of this challenge.
Made a request for Porter from @berrybloomsims, who also will show up in Musique Des Sims for a brief period. Introduced you guys to Quartz, the founder for Musique Des Sims and started it. Didn’t get very far though before I put it on hiatus.
June: A few sim requests here and there. Continued on with the 100 baby, started gen 2 in fact, my cat had kittens irl (we ended up keeping 2 of them), @berryconfetti started my challenge, and I started my Seasons of Gnomes challenge. And to kick it all off, I hit 400 followers! I think I must have been busy around the 300 mark and by the time I had time to make anything, I was close to 4 anyway so I waited.
July: 100 baby challenge still going strong, Seasons of Gnomes was continued. I put up a post asking for spouses for the 100 baby challenge (still waiting on those btw @grassamere @samssims xD for real tho, no rush you still have a lot of time <3). @27ccfinds made me made me a cute edit of what used to be my side blog for Big Sister/Runaway Teen! Still can’t believe that, how sweet! <3 I made Cleo and entered her in @ashleysimmer11 ‘s Next Top Model! Hard to believe she’s in the top two! :D and then Ashley binge read my 100 baby challenge xD
August: 100 baby and Seasons of Gnomes still going strong, which is surprising for me, my kitties were growing up, posted my ballerina edit which I still love, had my second binge reader @princesspeach9090, and had my first wedding anniversary <3
September: Still posting 100 baby and Seasons of Gnomes! Go me! I made this sim just for fun and ended up re-purposing an old side blog for a game play based Not So Berry. @jelizabethmarieb made her spouse! Ashley made me pick a favorite Macaroon child. Aaaaand I made a Fall look book for 600 followers, using my gen 2 NSB heir for the model.
October: I participated in Simblreen for the first time. Oh boy, it was fun, but stressful. So. Many. Asks. I made 3 different treats and did it all weekend. (1 2 3). We were just about done with gen 2 for the 100 baby challenge, and gen 2 was in full swing for Seasons of Gnomes uuuntil it went on hiatus that month. I released some of my simmies into the world for my 700 follower milestone.
November: Gen 3 of 100 baby started, Cleo made it into the top 3 of Next Top Model, and I started my Rags To Riches, which you all seem to be liking a lot.
December: Buckle up, I did quite a bit this month xD
- Started my Youtube channel back up and got 20 subs on it! Woop! <3
- Participated in the “log off protest”
- Started a new project with @little-sims
- Started preparing more for gen 2 of my NSB
- Made a cute Poppy and Neptune edit
- Made some of the cutest random sims ever, which will be used for something later on in 2019
- CLEO MADE IT TO TOP TWOOO!
- Took one of the cutest screenshots I’ve ever taken.
- Made a new side blog for my story based saves! Which you all helped name :)
- Got the ABSOLUTE CUTEST anon message ever
- Submitted a name for @purpleleopard96 ‘s bachelorette challenge
I have had the BEST time on here this year. Sure, it’s got some drama, but what community doesn’t, especially online, but I’ve made some people I call friends on here.
I’ve started and ended a lot of projects. I’ve managed to keep my 100 baby challenge going without getting bored of it once which is a feat in itself. I hope to continue this for a long time to come. New BPR, possibly 2 actually, one story based, one game play based, Seasons of Gnomes, and Musique Des Sims to come over on the new blog starting sometime in Jan! I finally got most of the character page done for my BPR so I can start shooting it soon.
But at the same time, my posting will probably have to slow down again because I’m going to be trying to get a job soon not looking forward to that AT ALL
But yeah, thanks for sticking around with me and reading my stuff. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do making it. And if you made it this far, you are an ANGEL and I love you!

We’re now finally done with this gen. Honestly, I kind of wanted to make it longer, but I didn’t want to drag on something like this for too long. So what next? We’re gonna do some Hanks’ posts, and then start up the third generation of the Martini’s!
Once again, thanks to everyone who stuck through me in this, I saw all your comments in sympathy for Flame, and trust me I’m as sad as you are- but this is not gonna be the last of Flame (but more on that later).
Another thing, is that I do eventually want to talk about the type of cancer Flame has- and I’ll probably do it in September since it’s gonna be ovarian cancer awareness month. So, stay tuned for that.
Last thing is that I’m gonna list a few “trivial facts” (or whatever) about my plans with Flame in this post. Next, I’m gonna do a reply post since I still have a few unanswered replies. Finally, I’m gonna talk about the next generation in another post.
With that being said, here’s the facts about my journey with Flame:
There were several signs of Flame’s illness, some more obvious than others- the more subtle ones were her difficulty during her pregnancy, and her infertility (and the point where she said trying for one hurts). Others included her fatigue at the gym and of course the parts where I explained something was happening to her.
Flame was going to have some sort of tragedy at some point in her life no matter what, but it did change a little bit from what I planned.
Originally, she was going to have a fire fighting accident, where she falls through the roof of a burning building. Then, Clair would’ve came in after. The only thing was that it didn’t explain Flame’s infertility, but that wasn’t a huge deal.
Then I wrote out the story where she would actually die and it worked really well for future generations, but it wouldn’t make as much sense with the roof incident because she would either have to live or die, not live for a while and then die later. So then I chose for her to have cancer since that’s a scenario that would factor in infertility, personal care worker, and her death at once.
In the event of the first scenario, I wasn’t even gonna make her infertile, I was just gonna make her hate being pregnant and having too many kids. I did actually touch on that bit here.
I did a lot of research on cancer and grief in general, but a lot of my more emotional parts were based off of the book Maybe One Day since that’s a good book for looking at the story from a loved one’s perspective, and also my own experience with seeing cancer with a loved one.
When she did get cancer, she had a lot of complications, her first chemotherapy treatment caused a few difficulties, where she couldn’t go home right away, and the second main one was that she had a case of sudden fatigue syndrome, where she would suddenly get tired. The only thing with that was as far as I’m concerned, this really happens during chemo treatments, and I did include a point where it did happen even though she wasn’t even on chemo.
The entire plot of Flame’s illness was taken from Raven’s point of view, and there are quite a few reasons for this, but the main one is simply that Raven is the heir, and the one person that the story flows onto into the future, so it really would only make sense for it to be from their view.
If it was told from Flame’s, or even Cameo’s point of view, it definitely would’ve included Flame’s parents and her sister, and even Cameo’s sisters. I actually almost had Flame live with her parents, but I decided against it for a reason I can’t remember.
Finally the last thing I wanna say: Flame was always pretty much infertile, and conceiving a baby would’ve taken forever. Realistically, the chances would’ve been like...1-2%. Raven was just that lucky enough to be that small percentage, so in a way, Raven’s a miracle child.
