“Run that by me again? You’re looking for alien technology, you said?” He had to be sure the other hadn’t mistaken any of his inventions for whatever they were looking for- he had been doing more test flights of his space interceptor lately, and currently had it docked in his lab- awaiting adjustments. “...And you are positive you saw whatever it was flying overhead here?”

【 ⊳ 碇 】;
HE’S ARMED WITH A FEW stock phrases he memorized in English and some money he exchanged on arriving here. He’s not in America for leisure ( of course he isn’t ), rather, on business related to NERV. It’s temporary, but a bit overwhelming nonetheless. At least he has a few spare moments to browse the music store right now.
Tumblr media
He’s a little surprised when he’s approached out of the blue, looking at an album he thinks he recognizes. It’s something that’s different here, that he’s still getting accustomed to, and he fumbles out a response he thinks will suffice. ❝ Ah — um...do you know this one? ❞

please find my chickens! w @gemmedchild > start
With my stomach literally on fire, I tried to listen to what Steven was saying. I really was, but I couldn’t really. “And the reward is a Panastar you say...?” Clutching my stomach as I was propelled to lean over in agony, I was preparing myself for the worst symptoms of poisoning. Okay... It was entirely my fault -- but flowers? Poisonous? I probably should’ve triple checked the encyclopedias. Still, as much as I regretted my starving instincts, there was no time machine in this world and I’m stuck with the urge keel over every second. The woes of a beginner vegan...
I mayyy have worried Steven with my spam of angry texts... But this was his idea! Capturing chickens seemed like a simple idea to wrap my head around. Though I can’t say much about how well I’d be able to perform, how difficult was it to find and transport all the chickens back home safely to their weeping, loving mother? It was actually... more difficult than I originally thought.
Tumblr media
“I guess we don’t... have any other options. Our bubbles are perfect for trapping them but... I’m still on a time limit. Did you get any... cool, new magic when you turned into an elf?”

[★] – @gemmedchild
𝓣he wand had been forgotten for a moment as a fury of balloons wandered towards the teen, causing a deep sigh to slip from her lips. She was definitely growing bored destroying these things; they weren’t putting up that much of a fight-- but at the same time, what could a balloon really do to hurt her? Star took a moment to breathe before addressing the task at hand; the incoming catloons. Nimbly, the teenager leapt upon a table before jumping a good distance into the sky, aiming her wand down towards the balloons.
❝ FLYING PIG BLAST!! ❞
At that, a multitude of flying pigs flew out of her wand, aiming directly for the white cat balloons. That was the best part of having spells with their own train of thought; they knew, based on Star’s thoughts, that they needed to avoid the black balloons. Before the girl could fall, a large pig caught her, hovering above the other pigs which were busy going through and destroying all the other balloons... except for that one... who just hit a black one.
Tumblr media
They would need to have a serious conversation later.

He’s in the ghost world, checking cores to jump to. And to everyone else, this guy in a red suit has stopped in the middle of the sidewalk for just a second... but a second is all he needs to interfere with everyone else walking behind him.
Not that Yomiel cares. Even something as simple as being an obstacle means that he exists and he’s here and he can do something, even without his (frankly, terrifying) powers.
Tumblr media
“... Just move around me,” he grunts. “I don’t care if I’m in your way.”

★✦ The balls at the end of Lala’s antennae began to glow yellow as electricity gathered in them. It wasn’t enough to do any damage, rather just the excess static that had gathered in her body. Gently, little sparks began to shoot  out.
Tumblr media
Until a sudden noise behind her suddenly caused her to jump and whip her head around, smacking a boy in the face with antennae that were still defusing. At least they weren’t dangerous, but it would be like getting a static shock.

“So you fold like that, and then like that... and there! A flower.” Lailah smiled as she held up the origami blossom to the boy, a pile of paper beside her. Folding was one of her favourite past times, and she was always happy to share it with others. “Would you like me to teach you? Or I could show you others as well, I know quite a few.”

“Hello, Steven.” Came a neutral, pleasant-sounding tone.
A look over from the dress form was given to the familiar boy who walked into the store. And while the two weren’t too personally acquainted, Iori knew much about this one from Peridot (and occasionally, Pearl.)

“Can I do anything for you?”

“It’s great to see you again, Steven.” She needs to do better in checking up on him. Though it looked like he was doing pretty well. It just has been awhile since she’s seen the boy and seeing him gets her smiling, “You seem a lot taller than the last time I’ve seen you!”

Grunties. Loads and loads of Grunty plushies and even a few Chim Chims to throw it all together. It wasn’t something he expected to see in this area of Cotes let alone in a store like this. And it was something he found himself glaring at lightly, especially the one that looked a lot of Death Grunty- who subsequently looked a lot like him. Picking it up, he held the plushie and slightly frowned. He could almost hear the smugness in the Grunty’s voice.

@gemmedchild Liked for a starter.

Pink had been wandering the streets of Fibonacci for a while now since she’d arrived in Spirale. There was so many new and interesting things here to keep her occupied that she hadn’t really minded. But something struck her as very odd.   Just a second a go she’d sensed something that gave her pause. It was the aura of a gem, but it felt different. It felt like herself. She was so utterly befuddled that she just had to get to the bottom of it. With a determined glint in her eyes the diamond set out in the direction she’d felt it heading. There! A young human, he couldn’t be much older than a decade. He was the source of the strange aura, the one that felt just like hers. This was very odd. Pink stood behind him with an unreadable expression before speaking up “Excuse me. Do I know you?“

The band that Zelda is helping out, Rock Soul Cult, is a fairly new band headed by a teenager named Keith(he says) who was one of the regulars at her store. She’d agreed to let him borrow her sound system for the concert. She’d arrived at the beach early in the afternoon with his group and her “people” to help up the stage and system. They weren’t expecting a huge crowd at the start, but that’s why they’d chosen the spot they had.
Halfway between Ocean Town and Beach City - both cities that had a fairly active youth culture - and just off the high way where passing motorists would see and investigate. Flyers had been passed out over the last few weeks, and the concert itself was free, so they were expecting a decent turn-out.
Which, as the sun started setting, they got.
By the time the preview DJ started playing there was a good 40 or 50 people milling about with more people showing up and a nicely regular pace and by the time Rock Soul Cult take the stage and start rocking out, there’s quite a crowd gathered.
Zelda watches from her spot by the beverage table with an approving nod. This is a great turn out for such a new band, and it’ll be a great boost for a band with such great potential. She can definitely see Rock Soul Cult going quite a long way.

💧 = Has the type of world your character lives in claimed anyone they loved? How do they cope with it?
Everyone and everything Ghost has ever known or cared about or even had a slight fondness for has been taken away by their world.
The Hollow Knight, chained and left alone in the Black Egg.
The Broken Vessel/Lost Kin, infected beyond repair and subjected to a fate worse than death.
All of their other siblings, either broken at the bottom of the Abyss or killed trying to escape.
Cloth, the brave cicada warrior they befriended, stabbed through by the Traitor Lord.
Bretta, the nice if enthusiastic beetle from Dirtmouth, who left of her own will to relinquish her memory and face the wastelands.
Myla, the sweet little miner, infected to madness and forced to be put down at the end of their own nail.
The kindly moth Seer, ascended to an unknown fate.
And Quirrel…They didn’t expect to miss Quirrel so much, to want to see him again so badly. They don’t know what happened to him, just that they found his nail abandoned by the deep Blue Lake, and very few bugs can swim.
If they’d stayed in their world to see the Radiance fight through, they’d even lose themself, their physical body, and their very individual identity as they returned to sleep in the Void. They’d essentially lose everyone else they knew left alive.
Emotions are new to Ghost, something they didn’t even really have until further along down their journey. They coped with it by not really thinking about it much–it was just a fact of life that a lot of bugs died down that well in Dirtmouth, and they were unlikely to run into a friendly face more than once. They had a mission to fulfill, and couldn’t afford to stay and wallow even if they wanted to. But now that the pressure’s off…well, they still kind of ignore it. They’re still trying to figure out their feelings, how to feel them, and thus haven’t fully processed or grieved everything they’ve lost. They see no point to it, but it still weighs on them somewhere in the back of their consciousness, their own deeds and failures settled like a rock somewhere in their shell.
It’s likely they’ll never actually deal with it, unless someone shows them how–and lets them know it’s okay to.

“What’s with that imitation gem on your body? Has humanity started a new fad, always the dumbest things tend to come out of your species.” The old gem just said this with her usual unamusement at seeing the child, holding back her swearing since it was a child. The peridot was rude and crass...but was at least respectful to the innocent a child makes.
