Okay, with the blackout happening tomorrow, I'm going to be harsh. Mutuals, if I see any of you post anything other than Palestine tomorrow, it's gonna be a block.
One day. Don't post/reblog anything unrelated for ONE DAY. Can you do that?
If not, then you don't care about Palestine. This blackout is for them, and it only works if a lot of people join. It'd REALLY work if everyone did.
Don't think that you won't make a difference. You will. But only if you participate.
March 2nd. Full blackout. Only post/reblog stuff about Palestine, or don't post at all.
We are so close to a ceasefire. Hopefully this will put it over the edge. If not, it will still get us closer and closer.
If some world-shattering news happens tomorrow during the blackout, SAVE AS A DRAFT. Reblog it the day after. I'm being so serious right now, breaking this will defeat the entire point.
Free Gaza, stand with Palestine.
March 2nd.
Feel free to reblog this if you plan on participating in the blackout, too. Reblogs are on.
EDIT: I'm realizing how many people do not know about this, so I'm gonna judge the block thing case by case. But yeah. Stand with Palestine.

Just yesterday, an active duty Airforce member used self immolation to protest the genocide in Gaza in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington D.C. He yelled "I will no longer be complicit in th genocide." His last words were "Free Palestine", which he repeated until he could no longer speak.
Innocent men, women and children have died at the hands of a cruel, genocidal and ethnocentric regime. Americans have spoken. Our troops have spoken. We do not and cannot be complicit and silent in the events in the Middle East.
Rest in Power, Aaron Bushnell.
Please repost.

Hey, you!
There’s a hunger strike happening in front of the White House in protest of the assault on Gaza that’s about to continue.
Email your representatives to draw their attention to this and demand they call for ceasefire and do everything they can to make it happen. (Or feel free to shame them and hold your vote as ransom if you think they won’t.)
If you’ve bugged them about it before, bug ‘em again. Takes 3 minutes. Get your friends to do it, too. Tire these guys the fuck out until they budge.
Thanks :)

I have repetitively looked for other self-immolators names, looked for their stories, looked for everything,
And all I see is Aaron Bushnell;
I do not see anything about the black woman who self immolated for gaza.
We do not know her name, we do not know anything.
After extensive searching, this is the only related news I could find:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are more concerned about the guy who tried to intervene and got himself injured in doing so, and saying she endangered his life, rather than showing any sympathy or human emotions towards the woman who was heroic enough to engage in this act of martyrdom.
She's not the one who asked for him to burn himself trying to 'save' her.
They didn't even share her gender or any information that would humanise her to the public at first. And now all they're sharing is her gender.
This isn't the only case that has gone unnoticed.
Don't let them disregard her, don't let them dehumanise her. We may never know her name, or anything about her,
But she is Luminary. If we must call her that, if we must talk about her, we will.
She's not going to be another unnamed sacrifice, they won't get away with that anymore. Talk about her. Make them talk about her.
She's not just a number, nobody is.
'Luminary' is a living, breathing, woman.
We need to talk about her.

Does anyone know if there’s any upcoming protests in London or a website that would show the information? Whenever I see them in the areas I’m in it’s already passed. Thank you in advance 💚🍉

Columbia University parallels 1968 / 2024.
My thoughts go out to all the students protesting for Gaza in every country. Students and teachers who are being beaten, tased, arrested, and charged. Students risking their lives because apparently peaceful protest and free speech doesn’t apply to those whose narrative doesn’t fit the governments.

“Seen from this perspective, the protest encampments in support of Gaza that are sweeping elite college campuses across the nation—and being ruthlessly crushed by riot cops at the same rate—are valuable arenas of political education, more valuable than anything those kids will learn in the classroom. These experiences will teach these kids some of the most important truths they will need to know to accurately assess the way that America operates: That the polished people in charge of things are often merciless dictators at heart; That awful atrocities will be tolerated as soon as they can be ignored; That one millimeter beneath the smile of the boss lurks gritted teeth and a determination to call the cops to break your head open if you don’t listen. To have young people set out to protest the deaths of tens of thousands of civilians and then be met by hysterical repression from the same institutions that have been tasked with making them “good citizens” is one of the best lessons I can imagine. It is an act of wiping off the makeup to reveal the pig beneath. We wouldn’t want that pig to be concealed forever, would we?”

Still wondering how arrests that police are making of Jewish people protesting what's happening in Gaza are going.
Police: "You're under arrest for antisemitism."
Jewish protestor: "I'm Jewish." 😑
Police: "..."
Jewish protestor: "..."
Police: "Yeah, well, you're still under arrest for it."

"Children in Gaza are seeking an end to the massacres perpetrated against them and a return to their schools, from which they have been deprived for over four months. They want to halt this insane war and live freely like children around the world, as this war has claimed the lives of over ten thousand of them. The war continues, and the killing of children persists unabated to this moment, without any regard for children’s rights."

I chickened out of going to this disruption demonstration, but I should have gone. Watching this helped me feel a little more comfortable going to the next one, seeing what it’s actually like.
If you also are trying to work up the nerve to be more active, watch this and videos like it.
Also, this is the Florida Palestine Network on insta, and they’re great. Go give them a follow and sign their petition (if you live in FL) to pressure local representatives to support a command for ceasefire. The link also has a lot of good resources that everybody should check out!

The time for art is lost': Artist Ruth Patir, curator also call for return of all hostages being held
"People stand in front of the closed Israeli national pavilion at the Biennale contemporary art fair in Venice, Italy, on Tuesday. The sign announces that the artist and curators representing Israel at this year's Venice Biennale won't open the Israeli pavilion until there is a ceasefire in Gaza and an agreement to release hostages taken on Oct. 7. (Luco Bruno/The Associated Press)"
Written in English, the announcement Tuesday of Israel's delayed opening read: "The artist and curators of the Israeli pavilion will open the exhibition when a ceasefire and hostage release agreement is reached." Two Italian soldiers stood guard nearby.
In a statement, Patir said she and the curators wanted to show solidarity with the families of the hostages "and the large community in Israel who is calling for change."
👏👏👏👏👏👏🧡
