Rise Leo meeting the 2012 Gang except after like, less than a week he says something along the lines of ‘Man, I can’t believe that all versions of me and my brothers and our friends are queer!’ And the whole 2012 Gang FREEZES because none of them are out to each other because they just assumed they were the only gay in the group and Rise Leo was able to figure everyone out like THAT.
Cue Spider-Man pointing meme where they’re all like, “YOU’RE BISEXUAL AND YOU DIDN’T TELL ME?? WE COULD’VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS ALL THIS TIME??” While Rise Leo is like “…You guys didn’t know?? Really??” Because they were all so focused on “Oh my god I’m gay… How do I come out to my family…” to notice that ALL of them are gay.

i honestly feel like the cis vs. trans debate depends on how we’re defining the terms. “trans” as in “no association with your agab whatsoever”? probably excludes a good sum of trans people. “cis” as in “only expresses their gender through stereotypical presentation and/or never experiments with the concept of gender”? probably excludes a good chunk of cis people. but this doesn’t necessarily conflict with or negate the cultural significance of being cisgender or transgender and labeling those experiences as such. cis and trans people obviously receive very different treatments and privileges, so it’s less about strictly defining what it means to be cis or trans and more about how these terms (as broad groupings) help us understand and identify where we stand. they’re communication devices first and foremost, not diagnoses. i hope that makes sense

I’ve literally had multiple people ask me straight to my face if I was bisexual because they suspected I was and even tho I knew in all three of those situations that the person I was talking to was safe (either queer themself or an ally), it was really scary to be forced in that moment to come out without my consent, or feel forced to lie about it in order to protect myself, regardless of whether I needed to or not. I can’t imagine being a world famous celebrity and having fan pages dedicated to my alleged sexuality, analyzing every behavior I did and whether or not it was queer, calling all of my relationships PR relationships or beards because they are so convinced I am a homosexual. Either erasing my bisexuality to call me a lesbian or forcefully outing me. People who don’t even know me. It’s scary and honestly creepy enough having someone who knows you personally do it, but someone who’s never even met you? And doing it in front of the whole world? I would never feel safe enough to come out, not just because of the risk of homophobic attacks, but because the people who claim to support me are the ones that made me do it

You know what I really don’t like? When queer celebrities have beef/criticise/disagree with a straight celebrity and a bunch of people respond with “How could you criticise [x]?? They’ve supported lgbt causes for years, even before it was popular!!! They donate to lgbt charities, they’ve done [xyz] to help gay kids!!! They were advocating for gay rights when you were still in the cLoSeT!!! How dare you oppose them!?!!”
Like……. can we stop acting like being a straight “ally” buys you some kind of allegiance from queer people and that gays should tip-toe around their “allies” because they owe them something and/or because they shouldn’t risk alienating them??
The general trend of ally-ship has become annoying because liberal straights think they deserve a cookie for supporting basic human rights, and that mindset leads them to use their pro-lgbt track record as leverage anytime they get into arguments with gays. It’s just- ……….. *sigh* Yeah.

I'm sorry. I just had a friend (who is also queer) say that they are uncomfortable when people try to force lgbt+ headcanons on characters when it hasn't been proven verbally or physically in canon...guys I fear I'm not recovering from this one
