Whats a gasometer ? (Gimme the lore)

A gasometer is/was a large scaffolding structure that helped store gas for municipal use. As gas was created, a large holder inside would inflate, as gas was used, it would deflate.

nowadays they aren't needed much, and most are torn down as they are very inefficient compared to modern gas storage methods
