SUDDENLY, IN THE SILENCE
I've posted a fic on ao3! (E, 10k)
TK and Carlos are stranded at Andrea’s house during a stormy night when the Camaro breaks down in the driveway. After Andrea casually mentions making contact with Gabriel during a séance, a freaked-out TK becomes convinced that Gabriel has returned with unfinished business relating to his almost-son-in-law, and dreams and reality begin to blur. Are there ghosts, or is it always grief? What is a trick of the light or a fault in the shadows? And what would dead silence say back if it could speak?
Read on ao3
This was known as Ghost Gabriel Fic when it was a WIP, and the snippets are here
Much love to @freneticfloetry for the sensitive read and early beta, @cold-blooded-jelly-doughnut for the recent beta, and @thisbuildinghasfeelings for the conversation that sparked this fic 🍂❤️

Hi, how are you? I was wondering if you could do one when the Reader is sad and the characters try to cheer them up, it could be with Gabriel, Carlos, Bill, Trapper and Trickster
I can do that. I've already done this for Trickster and Trapper, it's on my masterlist. Sorry this took a while, I've been so exhausted lately.
Cheering up a sad Reader
Gabriel, Carlos, Bill
Gabriel Soma
He's not great with emotions.
It's how he was raised.
Or rather, what he was made as.
But he can tell when a person is upset.
He's going to do his absolute best to make you smile again.
What he lacks emotional understanding, he makes up for in his ability to strategize.
Gabriel knows everything about you.
Your favorite food.
Favorite actives.
Any hobbies you have.
And he knows the things you don't like.
He's conducted a whole plan.
First, he'll make you your favorite foods.
He's actually great at cooking.
Your favorite things to do?
He'll research how to do them.
He'll be very invested in making you feel better.
He might not realize you just want alone time.
Or to just talk.
If you tell him that, he'll feel really really bad.
But he just wanted you to feel better.
And it's really sweet that he's trying so hard.
So cut him slack.
And make sure to give him lots of kisses.
Carlos Oliveira
He knows immediately.
Carlos might not be the brightest out there.
But he knows how to read emotions.
And he knows how to cheer you up.
He's a clown when you're upset.
He's a clown anyways.
But more so when you're upset.
Silly stories.
Crazy stories of when he worked as an mercenary.
Stories that make you question how he's still alive.
Oh, you hungry?
Want food?
He's always down to eat.
Maybe eating will make you feel better.
It always makes him feel better.
No?
Then he'll make you go out and do something.
Sitting around all day is depressing.
And boring.
Being bored makes you sad.
If you want to talk, he's a great listener.
If you want silence...well that won't really happen.
He isn't great at staying quiet.
But he'll make an effort.
Oh, but he won't be leaving.
He would never leave you alone in a cold Carlosless world.
Bill Overbeck
He's a toughened old man.
So Bill likes to pretend he doesn't feel anything.
Physically or mentally.
But he does.
Even if it's just minimal.
And he knows when you're upset.
But he isn't great at bringing it up.
So don't expect too much out of him.
And arm around your shoulder.
A light hug.
Maybe a kiss on the cheek.
Maybe offer a cigar.
It's okay if you don't take it.
He won't be offended.
If you want to talk, he'll listen.
He can't offer much advice unless it's something like combat training.
If someone hurt you, don't worry.
He'll come back, covered in their blood.
"Don't worry about it."
That person will come begging for your forgiveness later.
He may be a man of few words.
But he's a man of actions.
And he'll do anything to see you smile again.

I don’t know if this counts as a hot take, but I lowkey wish that “Saw X” had been made before “Jigsaw”. It’s mainly because I feel Carlos would’ve been a decent candidate if he took over the Logan Nelson/New Jigsaw role.
The story practically writes itself. Carlos, an orphan, looks to John Kramer as a father figure and his savior since he kept him alive during the blood-boarding trap. He spends several years honing his craft, hoping to become as good as John.
Cut to several years later, the Jigsaw copycat killer is on the loose. You got a team of detectives looking for him, including a pathologist named Logan Nelson. In the movie’s twist ending, it’s revealed “Logan” is not only this new Jigsaw, he’s actually Carlos, who took on a new identity when he moved to America. So instead of being a random test subject who John took pity on, Carlos/Logan is literally the son-figure of Jigsaw.
In this way, the story of “X” would act as an ending for John Kramer and the beginning of the new Jigsaw. Like a messed up passing of the torch. Also, imagine how fun it’d be for the writers to drop clues to Logan’s true identity. Stuff like:
1) You see him fixing up a bike
2) Logan says he was born in Mexico but moved to the US when he was young
3) Even though he’s a pathologist, Logan doesn’t like getting blood all over his face since it reminds him of getting blood-boarded
Side note, before anyone mentions this, this new version of “Jigsaw” would obviously have to be updated to match the new story details. So, some characters and plot elements may stay, others will have to be cut.
(Just for fun, I’m picturing Gabriel Luna as older Carlos/Logan Nelson in this new continuity. I think he could pull it off)

911:Lone Star 4x18 (aka season 4 finale) spoliers
How I imagine how the writing of this episode went.
One Writer - Okay so we should have more scenes with Carlos and his parents.
Another writer - I agree. I mean we’ve been wanting him to go higher than a patrol officer for a awhile.
One writer - Oh we could have his father want him to become a Texas ranger and get some drama from that.
Another writer - I love that idea and then the rest of the episode could be a wholesome wedding.
Kevin - I have an idea to guys.
Kevin - What if Carlos asks his dad to be his best man.
One writer - I like that idea.
Kevin - I’m not done. And then we have him and Carlos’s mom have a cute little scene as he prepares for the wedding.
Another writer - that sounds good.
Kevin - And then Carlos’s mom says there’s a delivery at the door and Carlos’s dad goes to get it.
One Writer - I’m not sure how this is relevant but okay.
Kevin - And then when he opens the door he gets shot point blank in the hearts and dies.
Another writer - …
One writer - …genius.
