absolutely boggles my mind how much money these web3/crypto/nft-based companies are spending on marketing with the hope that they can actually turn people's opinions around.

it's like they refuse to acknowledge that the disdain for everything under the umbrella of web3 comes from the idea that all of that shit is creatively bankrupt. NFTs spit in the face of real art and we all already know every cryptocurrency old and new is in the hands of millionaires trying to become billionaires. Nothing about this stuff is innovative, and the pro-web3 people we have to meet with at work can't even concisely explain how their products are going to change our relationship to fiat currency or why there's an actual need for what they're selling.

I just don't know if these people like... have some reason they NEED their web3 project to succeed (money and pride seem the most likely reasons), so they're acting blind to the fact that crypto-skeptics reject the very foundation of NFTs/shitcoins/decentralized systems and thus will not change their minds when presented with crypto-positive sponsored content, or if they just genuinely can't comprehend that other people would feel that way about their precious monkey profile pics.

All this is to say that these mfs are burning more money than I will make in my lifetime on trying to get us on board with their worthless products. Everyone who continues to shit on crypto and nfts is incredibly handsome and powerful. Keep it up fellas. Together we'll make these people waste ungodly amounts of money, and eventually they'll have to stop putting things into the world that don't contribute to our society :)
