"What the fuck is that guy doing?"
You turn to your friend and turn to the direction they're facing. A hooded figure is walking through the lab without any sort of equipment or even a badge. From what you could see under the hood as they passed by, you saw their pale skin, freckles placed all over their face. Their dirty blonde hair looked messy and unkempt from being under that hoodie. It probably looked worse with it off, so you didn't blame them. As they went into the next room, you got a glimpse of the bright yellow logo on the back of their hoodie, the letters escaping your memory as the door shut silently.
"Oh, that guy?" you inquire, looking back at your friend as you point at the door he just exited through. "Yeah, he's been here a lot recently."
"But, I've never seen him... Does he even work here?"
"Somewhat. From what I've heard, he got hired by Gabriel from some YouTube loser group to monitor something they've found recently. Something inside the facility."
"The fuck does that even mean?!"
They stare at you with large, confused eyes. Their hands rested on their hips, and that only reminded you of your mother, questioning you on where you went after 6 pm and getting home just after 11.. You shrugged.
"Not too sure to be honest. But he is working under Gabriel, so we don't really need to worry. If we did, we probably would have already lost our jobs."
You turned back to your work station, filling a small tube with water from the stingray tank. Someone from one of the other departments said something about possible contamination due to someone trying to get in it the other day, so you had to do a check up on it. You also had a sneaking suspicion it had to deal with whatever is lurking within the facility. Whether or not it's a threat you'll never know.
"Yeah, you're right. Sorry I'm just paranoid I guess. Especially with what you said abut something 'lurking' here," your friend relaxed their arms before reaching a hand behind their head to scratch at something.
"It's alright man. I get that. Hey, could you help me with this real quick?"
"Oh, sure!"
Their smile gave you hope, it always did. It always gave you a sense that maybe things were gonna be okay. You smiled back at them, looking back at your current work.
That smile faded quickly as you heard clanging from the other room.

nirvana is SUCH a fun character to me. why are u even here in the FONDEST way possible. just some librarian now
[ID: Digital fanart of Nirvana Moebius from Omnisceint Reader’s Viewpoint. They are a brown skinned person with long white hair tied into a very long braid and a pair of very long dangly earrings. They have dark eyes with a mole under their left eye and a V-shaped smile. There are three images of them in the one picture, one chibi-ish version with their hands clasped and eyes closed with an open grin wearing a lanyard. The second of them looking to the side with a calm smile wearing a shirt that says “staff” and a lanyard. The third is a profile of them sitting and reading from an open book, looking content. /end ID]

The ways in which I feel accomplished are weird, I have not accomplished anything great, hell I haven't even got a job yet, but my room is finally starting to look like how I've always wanted it to, I'm starting to look like how I've always wanted to, it's weird but it does make me feel accomplished in some weird way

Hi it's auggie👋🏼
Let's have a yarn about the hidden disability sunflower lanyard 🌻
The hidden disability sunflower symbol is an accessibility tool for those with, a hidden disability.
It's most common form is a lanyard but you can also purchase badges and bracelets.
The sunflower is used to let staff and other members of the public know that you might need a helping hand, easy bathroom access, a quiet space or anything else.
I love my lanyard, it's covered in funky badges.
Wearing it in public makes me feel confident and more secure. Unfortunately very few people in my area know what it means so I often am educating.
Remember if you see some else werining one to be respectful and limit your questions. That goes both ways, if someone asks you a question that you don't feel comfortable answering, you don't need to answer.
I'd love to hear if you wear a sunflower lanyard and what your experiences have been like.
Have a lovely day!🪩🧼🏳️‍🌈🦃🌻🍊🧽🚢

hey guys remember those wheel of time tweets I made ages ago well I made au designs for them and will now ramble because fuck it I love modern aus
Tumblr media
I tried to keep the general outfits/colour palettes aligned with the canon show costuming and basically plucked as many details as possibly from the books to shove in there. the amount of detail makes my favourites apparent but shush x
mat:
-hearing aid from damaged hearing due to a freak lightning strike (he’s deaf totally in one ear, because he was closer than rand)
-missing eye from an infection after he got glass behind it mucking about. he usually wears either a clear or brown prosthetic but has funky ones and an eyepatch too
-his remaining eye is very light sensitive and weak due to the lightning so he carries a sunflower lanyard because he just Cannot Exist on his right side
-lots of patched up, baggy clothes that he usually fixes up from second hand shops
-he/it agender because fuck it look at him
-his sisters painted his nails pink <3
-caked in mud almost 24/7 because he likes dragging rand and perrin out on adventures
rand:
-matching hearing aid to mat, only in one ear because his hearing is better as he was further from the lightning
-lost his hand in a car accident that also left him chronic pain from a badly healed abdominal wound. he supports himself when standing/walking with the cane, and the pain is inconsistent and triggered with strenuous movement or random
-eyes are similarly sensitive as mat’s but again, less so
-stickers <3 there’s a heron one on that cane somewhere trust me, the scale was just too small
-he’s such a jumper guy look at season one, and double denim but it’s allowed because he’s cute
-mud caked due to mat
perrin:
-perrin I’m so sorry darling I struggled with you so much
-burns on his arms and over his hands from apprenticing as a metal worker
-equally mud caked from mat
-he has a wolfhound rescue called hopper, who follows him around everywhere

Being as he is a creepypasta oc I should kind of explain myself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ghost Boy is a 20 y old in these drawings, but he had originally been 15 when he made contact with Slenderman and 18 when he finally made the deal. His story is particularly dark, dealing with bullying about his sexuality (he's gay) and how he got revenge on those bullies after a tussle they all got in.
His story is slightly sad. And the reason I won't be writing it here is because I want to make a different post that contains his story so I can make sure no one feels uncomfortable by my posts. I want to keep them all filtered correctly :]!!
Oh, and this book was made by MilkyTomato on Etsy. They were the inspiration for Ghost Boy I mean look.

Isn't it cute? I love the order I got from them. Tons of stickers and pocket books. I even got a lanyard from them! I love their art it's cute and a bit funky! Check em out! (The pin and key didn't come with the pocket book)

Dry Cleaning — Stumpwork (4AD)
Tumblr media
Stumpwork by Dry Cleaning
The defining lyric of Dry Cleaning’s excellent debut album, New Long Leg, was probably “Scratchcard Lanyard”’s “Do everything and feel nothing.” Florence Shaw’s words wandered far and wide, gathering up fragments into an intoxicating jumble, settling most often on the topic of food. On this second album, Stumpwork, the music roves more freely, while Shaw’s words zero in on more prickly subjects such as politics, violence and COVID lockdowns. The defining lyric here probably comes from within the jaunty Smiths-esque jangle of “Kwenchy Kups”: “Things are shit but it’s gonna be OK.” Bleak but hopeful sums up Dry Cleaning in 2022.
Given that Shaw’s deadpan vocals are no longer a novelty, Stumpwork is inevitably more of a grower than their debut. The band’s more expansive and patient approach is writ large in opener “Anna Calls from the Arctic.” Lewis Maynard delivers a characteristically loping bassline, while drummer Nick Buxton gradually builds his rhythm track from the ground up, starting with electronic drums then gradually introducing a crisply played kit. Tom Dowse’s guitar is more textural than riff-focused, culminating in a looped, droning coda.
On the album’s finest moment, “No Decent Shoes for Rain,” Dowse’s guitar is warbly and metallic, seemingly holding itself together like a smile stretched too thin, only for it to shatter into shimmering arpeggiated shards during the song’s second half. Maynard also diversifies his approach on the bass on several tracks, employing a funky filter effect on “Hot Penny Day,” introducing plangent Tortoise-like chords on “Liberty Log,” and seeming to reference Slint’s “Good Morning, Captain” on closer “Icebergs.”
It’s not all growers and reinvention, though. “Driver’s Story” could easily have been plucked from their debut, and the band keeps things catchy and direct on singles “Don’t Press Me” and “Gary Ashby.” Though Shaw tries her hand at some tentative singing here and there, it’s the degree of nuance in how she enunciates her words that’s most surprising and gratifying. This results in some wonderfully funny lines, such as the title track’s inexplicable “Woah, I just killed a giant wolf,” or the reference to mask wearing on “No Decent Shoes for Rain”: “I’ve seen your arse but not your mouth / That’s normal now.”
With Shaw’s vocals as the pivot, Dowse, Maynard and Buxton flex, weave and dance around her, resulting in a nuanced listen that extends the band way beyond their pigeonhole of “post-punk.” Hard to pinpoint where Dry Cleaning belong now, which can only be a good thing.

The World of Lanyards
The lanyard; that beautiful, printed, colored band around your neck to which an identity card is attached, has come a long way since its invention more than 500 years ago by the French.
Back then, the French called it the “laniere” which meant a strap or thong made of rope or cord or hemp and was used to keep their weapons in position especially whilst climbing a ships' rigging, entering combat or riding a horse.
It was the ship Captains who first began using the laniere around their neck with a whistle attached. The British beat police found this useful and adopted it, calling it the lanyard. Gradually the use of the laniere or lanyard spread throughout Europe and eventually, the rest of the World.
These days, only the armed forces continue to use the lanyards made from cord and are used to hold the ceremonial sword or pistol in place during official events.
The rest of the World uses the lanyard around the neck and it has a spring-loaded metal clip to which an identity card or tag can be attached. The lanyard serves a dual purpose – make the identity card easily available and visible, and more importantly, since the lanyard is custom printed with the logo and colours of the establishment issuing it, the lanyard itself acts as a security tag. Anyone sporting a differently printed lanyard can be immediately spotted. Moreover, the lanyard can be colour coded for each department, floor, event, function or nature of the work of the individual wearing it.
The lanyard therefore, has become more than just a tool to hold the identity card or tag – the lanyard itself provides visual information to the security staff.
When it comes to cultural events, lanyards can become as funky as you like. With luminous ink, you can have lanyards which not only look cool in the daylight, you can have them glow in the dark and made from UV yarn material. Switch off the lights for a second and security staff watching the cameras will spot any collar that does not sport the glowing lanyard. Funky with a serious purpose.
Today, lanyards are made from a variety of material and are broadly classified into ‘plain’, ’sublimated’, ‘Polyester’, ‘Woven’ and ‘Nylon lanyards’.
Essentially, there are two types of lanyards - ‘plain’ and ’sublimated’. ‘Plain’ obviously means non-printed. It is generally a simple, single-colored lanyard. ’Sublimated’ is where the fun is. Here, anything can be done and the sky is the limit. Logos, text, color matching, luminous paint or ink – you name it, it can be done. The best place to order is at https://www.irelandlanyards.com/. Select the type of plain lanyard you need, upload your artwork (for sublimated type lanyards), and mention the quantity required. It can be done and shipped to you as quickly as you require with a lead time generally of about two weeks for production.
