Title 42 was a Trump era policy, and it was terrible. Think about kinking a hose, how the water will build up. Do that for 2 years and you have our current humanitarian crisis at the border. It closed off the border for asylum seekers under the guise of covid protections. It ends tonight at 11:59 pm.

The issue right now is with what Biden is doing to replace it. So called "Incentivized Use of Lawful Immigration Pathways" will effectively ban many asylum cases. It will automatically presume asylum ineligibility for anyone who does not have proper travel authorization. You will also be given a 5 year ban from the US, which means you cannot file for your asylum claim for 5 years.

Previously, if caught crossing the border, you would be placed in removal proceedings and could file a defensive asylum. Now you will have an "expedited removal" which means they will railroad out the US, and slap you with harsh punishments.

The only way to receive this prior travel authorization is to use the terrible CBP One app. It'll effectively back up the already backed up asylum process. All of this ofc is being touted as a huge benefit for all of the asylum seekers! Fuck Biden

Rogue has grey hair, Nancy has the same shade of grey hair. Kerry's hair has a yellow tinge to it, and we can see from his beard and shaved sides that his hair is definitely still black (with some salt and pepper). His hair isn't grey, he bleaches it. I LOVE that as a community we all went "nah, that man's hair is grey" and now us fanartists just all draw him with grey hair. I love it so much, let my old man show his age.

Also, in flashbacks Kerry didn't have freckles, but now he does (as well as beauty marks and moles, which do just pop up over time). Usually, freckles are a symbol of youth, so either Kerry got freckles tattooed to make him look younger, or (my headcanon) they're not meant to be freckles but sun spots from aging, and that is way cuter to me.

I just want to lean more into Kerry's age in my art, so the idea of the age spots, uneven blushing, grey hair instead of bleached, I love all of it. Mostly for the thematic elements. Like, he's spent so much money and time and effort to appear young on the outside. He keeps up with slang, he texts like a middle school girl, he's got a very modern look with his fashion and his house and his car. But then during his side quests, he is faced with evidence that he's out of touch and slowly has to come to terms with that. AND I WANT HIS DESIGN TO REFLECT THAT JOURNEY!!

I want those faint age spots, I want the worry wrinkles to be more prominent than the smile lines, I want the salt and pepper in his beard. I like to imagine he kept his hair its natural color for a long time, but when the grey hairs became too concentrated to just pluck out, he went full platinum blond to try and hide it. His hair in the Phantom Liberty ending is grey (I think) which I take to mean he stopped bleaching it and let it do its thing, embracing his age and long history in the music scene.

At first the daddy thing was a bit funny but also annoying, then it became exhausting and kinda gross, now it just feels absurd and insulting.

Unless you're a white english native or white from a european country we all have challenges when it comes to representation in media. Latinx people have historically been the "dumb hot character" from using our accents as a joke, to assigning stupidity as a main character trait for us, both men and women being used as the sexy ones people get to objectify without shame, usually in undervalued jobs like maids, plumbers, gardeners etc.

And this "representation" has lead to horrible things, I had to go through things like CBP officers asking me as a 13-14 year old if I was traveling to become a sex worker at the airport (and this isn't a dig at sex workers but I was a literal child). So it just fucking sucks that as roles for latinx people have started to change and diversify the media is refusing to let go, to let us be something else.

Pedro has been the lead in 2 huge shows this year, he is by far in the lead to win best actor at several award shows and TLOU is also in the lead for best show in general. He has been cast in several really cool projects and yet I click on an interview and I can't go 3 seconds before hearing the word "DADDY", all this success, all these incredible things and yet THIS is the main topic for him, THIS is the go to. It's so frustrating specially in an ACTORS ROUNDTABLE which isn't a damn mtv fun little interview but something that's meant to be bigger and more serious.
