Share one of your favorite fluffy moments you’ve written!

Here's a snippet from my SF wip La Base. There's lot of little moments of what i could consider fluff, but usually tainted with others things (like bittersweet memories) so here's pure fluff with the recruits: (french bellow english)

Aurora dropped into the middle of the other recruits: "Day of rest! Finally!" She received a nudge as she wriggled to find a place between Nova and Sol. Galilea straightened up with a small pouch and there was a general movement of who would be next to her and within reach of the sweets. Aurora watched the commotion, amused but a little confused, until Gal winked at her and unrolled the paper to reveal a dozen sticky, oozing little stalks. "I've been saving these for a special occasion, so please enjoy them!" "Gal our savior!" "I love you Gal damn it!" "Aurora you will taste this and tell us about it, it's a speciality of our house. It's what you would call candied angelica."

Aurora se laissa tomber au milieu des autres recrues : -Jour de repos ! Enfin ! Elle reçut un coup de coude alors qu'elle se tortillait pour trouver une place entre Nova et Sol. Galiléa se redressa avec un petit pochon et il y eut un mouvement général de qui se trouverait à côté d'elle et à portée des sucreries. Aurora observa le remue-ménage, amusée mais un peu perdue, jusqu'à ce que Gal lui fasse un clin d'oeil et déroule le papier pour révéler une dizaine de petites tiges collantes et suintantes. -J'ai gardé ça pour une grande occasion, alors je vous demande de bien vouloir les savourer ! -Gal notre sauveuse ! -Je t'aime Gal Bordel ! -Aurora tu vas goûter ça et nous en dire des nouvelles, c'est une spécialité de chez nous. C'est ce que tu appelerai de l'angélique confite.

Ambrose tried to recall Dawn’s maps as they ventured deeper into the cave, mist swirling around their steps. If her research was correct, the moss would grow not far from the cool air of the sinkhole, in the precise temperature and environment it needed to thrive. He knew they needed to travel left, then right, then left again…

As he drew a mental map in his head, Eli took his hand, and the map was promptly erased.

“What—?” He looked down at their intertwining fingers, and realized he could barely see them through the thick mist. 

“So I don’t lose you,” Eli said, his voice muffled. “Is that all right?”

It was more all right than Ambrose cared to admit. “Yes, of course.” He cleared his throat and pressed forward. “We shouldn’t be too far from it now…”

His thoughts maintained two paths as they walked. As he re-drew the map, he also focused on the gentle pressure of Eli’s hand in his. Was Eli…touching him more than usual? The hands on his face, the carrying, the hand-holding. It was all lovely, of course. More than he had hoped for, even. But it didn’t…mean anything, did it?

Ambrose sighed and resolved to ask Dawn about it once she had forgiven him.

Fluffy Friday (Sunday oops) #2

This Friday’s Question from @fluffy-fridays: What is your favorite fluff dynamics? To read? To write? Are they the same?

Lately I love to read about non-sexual intimacy and above all, one character being cared for, and realising they are very worthy of love, and very loved indeed. Someone coming to hold them? Yes. Someone offering to care for them, like brushing their hair, or giving them a trinket, or cooking for them? Yes. That someone being their partner finally able to dot on them as they longed to, but didn't because they feared it would too much? y e s

That's something I would like to develop in my writing. For the time being, I tend to write character A quietly caring for character B, without character B realizing it or acknowledging it. But fluff goes both ways! I also have the group dynamic where everyone roots for everyone, like a horde of puppies too excited to be together and getting more and more excited.

It's 10:32 and technically still Friday, so here's Fluffy Friday 3/18/2022!

FIRST of all, thank you @fluffy-fridays for the question (and reminder). Second, this is going to be a Bad Luck Chuck thing because I do NOT want to delve into the springtime traditions of the Monroe family from Jackrabbit (that's only relevant because the story is centered around spring)

Do your OCs and their loved ones have any spring activities they enjoy together? If so, what are they?

Yeah, actually. So, Chuck and their siblings (Fionne and Ellex) are from a futuristic Earth-like setting (that once was Earth) and, as such, have retained some of the traditions of their forebears. One of these is Spring Cleaning, which was always a joyous occasion for their family. They would put on music, fill the buckets with water, and get to scrubbing-- or go through the closets. Either way, there would be singing, dancing, and open windows.

To this day, Chuck still does like cleaning. They just don't get to do it often since they're a little occupied with other things. It's not like Fionne and Ellex are around to help clean, or like Chuck really wants to interact with Ellex anyway.

Still, spring cleaning is something they miss, and something they look forward to being able to do again if/when they finally get to settle down after finding Fionne and bailing her out of trouble again.

This Fluffy Friday, @fluffy-fridays : Do your OCs and their loved ones* have any spring activities they enjoy together? If so, what are they?

There's a garden on the spaceship La Base, so for what they consider spring, the crew spends a lot of time prepping the garden and looking how their crops grow. Maybe the RH Sarapis will think of a themed party to host and have a little fun!

Hmm. I think when I’m reading, I’m more willing to go a bit darker than when I write (I’m such a marshmallow)- but other than that, the dynamics would be the same.

Things I love in fluffy dynamics:

gift-giving

taking care of the other person when they’re sick

nicknames

picnics!

snuggles/cuddles/sleepiness

person A admiring person B

casual or quick displays of affection: hugs, cheek kisses, forehead kisses

surprising the other person with something nice

I’m sure there’s more, but that’s what came to mind!
