Larry being an incredibly talented artist is the funniest gag in the Ace Attorney series. Every time he shows up, Phoenix and Edgeworth always make snide remarks about his art, but it's always really good.

Like from case one of the first game, Larry clearly had mad sculpting ability when he made the thinker clock. He's a good enough actor to play the Steel Samurai at an international display of goodwill. He was able to perfectly paint a variety of scenes he would only have seen for a few seconds across multiple games.

But he's always getting clowned on by the rest of the cast because he's such a pathetic cringefail in every other aspect of his life.

I think it’d be soooo funny if Edgeworth literally had Zero artistic knowledge outside of like. The basics. He recognises some famous paintings and artists but different styles??? Actual history and fun facts??? Oil vs Acrylic vs Water??? Absolute nothing going on up there. Phoenix, however, thinks that Of Course Miles Knows These Things Just Look At Him and so he rants a lot about very specific artistic takes and opinions to Edgeworth and Edgeworth is just standing there with a pained smile nodding along and silently panicking because he has no idea what the fuck Phoenix is talking about

started playing Apollo Justice the other day, as i've always really enjoyed ace attorney but i have yet to actually experience apollo's games at all (i know vague spoilers, given fanfic, but not specifics) and oh BOY

so first off: i Love Apollo. like i knew that he was gonna be the new protagonist and i was anticipating lowkey hating him because he's not phoenix but like. this man. he's so cute. his first trial and 90% of his dialogue is just him talking about his Chords of Steel™ (side note i now understand why so many people headcanon him as trans. he is so queer-coded)

second: phoenix is. so fuckin mysterious?? he lies and bluffs and explains exactly nothing to apollo at all. like he just basically takes over the trial and pulls shit out of his ass and playing apollo just feels like im a spectator to this whole thing (im hoping apollo actually gets a chance to shine later? i love phoenix and all but like. man please let apollo try)

thinking about it though, it does make sense?? like a ton of phoenix's dialogue in the early games is him talking in his head about shit, and outwardly he does come off as semi-competent. like apollo's pov is what people actually view phoenix as, and so his reputation makes so much more sense

anyway ive only completed the starter trial and ive just started the second so ill probably have more to add later

I LIKED THE MOVIE I think it did really well with what it was trying to do with DL-6 and Turnabout Goodbyes. I found some of the changes to that case Strange but I still think they told the story really well, and all the foreshadowing for the case throughout the movie and the way they tied everything together from the beginning (even STARTING the movie with Misty channeling Gregory)…. MVK’s breakdown… yeah that movie fucks.

However I absolutely WILL stay stuck on the changes to Redd White. They didn’t. Need to do that 😭😭😭

ALSO! bro at the very end there’s a Jammin’ Ninja mention AND a Matt Engarde cameo. So extra points for that specifically. Though I have no idea what Matt is on trial for 😭 it’s just kinda funny to me bc it doesn’t look like it’s supposed to be Farewell this is a separate thing. More points for giving Larry more insane character moments but also deducting points for the fact that Maya did not do shit in that movie, and also for the fact that April May was cut out entirely (women losses). Are we understanding my system here
