i want to protest for palestine. i want to be a community organizer. i live in a tiny rural area surrounded by tiny suburban areas that are (unsurprisingly) quite conservative but i still want to form or join some kind of leftist organization. almost 10,000 palestinians have been murdered and i have done nothing but go to work, game, and feel sick to my stomach about it all. what else can i do? im so angry and so helpless. i’m going to donate for sure once this weeks paycheck comes in but it just feels like a load of absolutely nothing. how could anything help when 10,000 people are dead? when a genocide is happening and no one with any real tangible power is doing anything about it?

If Israel has a right to defend itself, it's gone way past that.
It's not antisemetic to be pro-palestine, there are Palestinian Jews and Jews who support Palestine, even israeli Jews who support Palestine. That is to say, don't let people bully you into silence because you're scared of being labeled an antisemite. That is also to say, if you think supporting Palestine is an excuse to be antisemetic fuck off.
I don't care if "Palestine is homophobic!!" they can work on having more progressive politics in the future, for the past several years they've been a little busy being occupied by Israel and trying to free themselves. Also Israel is kinda homophobic too, so remove gay politics from this discussion please.

Hi.... :] before we get into this I wanna say one (1) thing: I'm pro-Palestine AND (shocker) pro-Israel. I'm hitting a hornets nest tagging this with pro-Palestine when how I view being for Palestine is so drastic to others' views.
Any sort of harassment or antisemitism will be reported and you will be blocked. We don't hate Jews or Israelis here. Also, if you tag this post with "to the river to the sea Palestine will be free" you're ignorant and dunno what the fuck you're saying.
This post is lengthy (imo) and just my personal spew on stuff, it's nothing like...revolutionary lol. I just need to get shit out somehow.
I don't get the anti-Israel crowed like....they know nothing and its so baffling they'll just say shit they don't understand the concept or history of. You can be pro-Israel and hate the Israeli government, you can be pro-Palestine while also realizing that the history is very convoluted and if you did a simple YouTube search about history on Palestine and Israel you'd be more educated. You can be both pro-Israel and pro-Palestine...shocker I know!
I've learned more from YouTube than in history class. I've also learned that antisemitism is very easy to fall into, which is something I knew but didn't understand. Pro-Palestinians I don't doubt actually care, I'd love to think most Pro-Palestinians actually give a fuck about the murders that're happening! The downside is that they're falling and repeating shit the fucking Nazis would say in the name of activism and see NO ISSUE. (Saying "gas the Jews" and holding up Nazi flags is, even in the name of activism, antisemetic.)
I try and not be cynical, but like there's literal dog whistles and antisemetic shit being spoken about and there's signs being put up that says "No Jews" and there's even fucking Tumblr blogs with "Jews DNI" on them. (I've seen them, they're very much real. Most of them have "Zionists DNI" which is usually just a dog whistle to Jews, but I digress.)
Don't get me started on fucking Zionism actually, no one knows what the fuck that is and they claim they do when they don't. It's so brain numbing!
"Go back to where you came from!" that'd be Israel....which you wanna get rid of. That's also what Zionism is btw. Jews are from Israel...please Google things before you open your yapper.
I can only find solace in the Jumblr tag (& similar ones) because they have knowledge about what the fuck is going on and I won't get called a "Zionist Nazi"!
In the face of chaos I will say that studying and my plans to convert one day is the best decision I've ever made; you can't get rid of Jews, no matter how much you want us gone. Reading the Torah, researching about Israel, learning the culture, the food, the language, etc. It's healing and I'm glad to be coming home slowly but surely. Am yisrael chai.

i'm not entirely sure if anyone will read this post and that's okay, i don't have many followers and there are better posts to follow when it comes to supporting palestine and her people. don't give up hope, keep reblogging, keep talking about palestine okay. even if you think it doesn't matter it does. talking about what's happening beats back every bit of propaganda that gets spread about palestine. every bit counts

i'm sick and tired of the constant news from palestine. not because i want to remain blissfully ignorant about what's happening there but because with each passing hour i get more and more angry and discouraged regarding what's happening there. i cannot in my mind truly comprehend the level of inhumanity that is required to forcefully remove people from their homes, to deprive them of basic necessities like water, food, and medical care, and then carpet bomb the land that so many families have lived on for literal decades. it's horrific and a disgusting level of evil.
beyond that i have to live with the knowledge that my government is actively funding these atrocities. i don't even want to call it my government because there is no way in my mind that any human could possibly see the deaths caused by israel and want to help them continue in their path of genocide.
these past few months have solidly confirmed in my mind that capitalism is single-handedly one of the worst things to have ever happened to our society because capitalism the thing that's behind my government supporting these atrocities. plain and simple it makes companies more money to help kill literal children who have done nothing wrong than to send aid to those children and to call for a ceasefire. it's sickening that my government is choosing to support this senseless violence simply because it means they can sell more guns and bombs and tanks.
i think about how the world will speak on these events in 20, 30, 50 years from now. i wonder how the history books will recount the brave gazans who survived what happened. i wonder if my country will continue to pump out propaganda regarding their involvement in this disaster. i wonder if the textbooks and worksheets students will read and write on will echo the way that my textbooks talked about native americans or african slaves. i wonder how many lives will get reduced to a statistic on a page.
and it makes me sad. so depressingly sad that so many people will get swept under the rug. that every lost life will never be mourned in the way every human deserves to.
i get conflicted over whether or not i have any right to speak on these events. i live a very privileged life. i never have to worry about when my next meal is coming, i have access to clean and safe drinking water at all hours of the day, i have a roof over my head and 24 hour access to the internet. why should i, someone who has all this, speak about events that are happening across the world. why should i have the right to mourn and speak about people who are now gone when those who are still alive are living in some of the worst conditions known to humankind.
and i realise that that's what the israeli government wants. they want me to stop thinking about gaza and palestine as a whole. they want the world to turn their backs and ignore the atrocities they are committing.
and i don't want that to happen. i'll continue clicking daily for palestine. i'll continue to reblog posts about gaza. i will keep that shred of hope that one day i will wake up and my tumblr dashboard will be filled with posts celebrating a ceasefire, that one day palestine will be free from the occupation of a tyrannical state.
but even knowing that doesn't take away from the guilt that i feel when i see gofundme's and links to aid relief programs. i've donated an esim to gaza and i really do hope that it helps someone but i'm not in a position to do anything more than reblog posts and do my daily clicks.

It's... complicated.
Personally, I don't believe most people saying "from the river to the sea" are actually calling for the immediate dismantling and re-refugeeing of Israel's entire population.
Nevertheless in absolute terms, that is EXACTLY what the slogan is demanding. See, a lot of people don't actually look at a map:
The area highlighted in red is, approximately, what "the river to the sea" refers to in its most conservative terms. Note how almost every single population center is within that range.
In practical terms, it's straight up a demand that Israel stop existing and Palestine be returned to local control.
And normally, being a fucking sensible person, you'd think, "Well, land back! Give it back!!"
Only you're assuming Israelis are colonizers.
Which IS. NOT. TRUE. Just because Israel is operating as a US colonial project doesn't make Israelis colonizers themselves.
Israelis are better thought of as refugees. People who were successfully genocided out of EVERY SURROUNDING NATION:
This map shows the expulsion or genocide of Jews from the area surrounding Israel over the last century.
Black-coloured countries have eliminated over 80% and up to 100% of their Jewish populations. That is to say, countries in black successfully committed genocide against their Jewish populations in the last century.
With any surviving refugees sent where?
To Israel.
Red represents greater than 60% population loss. In a century.
Blue represents 40+%, and yellow 20+%.
Remember: population loss over 10% is considered a strong indication of genocide, and 30% population loss is proof.
And remember that these number include the entire span of time between the holocaust and now.
IF it were possible to genuinely negotiate in good faith a peace treaty that allows Jewish refugees to Israel to stay in the Jewish Homeland that they've only barely even been sent to.
Then maybe "from the river to the sea" would not be a threat to finish off the last survivors of genocide.
But between US interventionism in the region, existing racial tensions, and the last century of genocide?
Good faith negotiations simply are not possible right now, and they won't be possible until the US and European powers make it possible by dialing back the imperialism and instead using their massive global power to support genuine negotiations of peace, that actually strive to develop a healthy, equitable society for both Jewish refugees returning to their historic homeland AND the people already living there.
Which, let's be realistic here. The EU is so busy crowing about how it's less racist than the US that they deny having even participated in these forced expulsions, claiming it was all "voluntary." And the US is literally still enslaving BIPOC in prisons.
So! That's just not going to happen!!
Which means we have to look at the phrase "from the river to the sea" not in the context of peace where it would be harmless, but in the context of, unfortunately, more wars over the last century than you could even give names to.
Where it calls for the expulsion of Jewish refugees from their homeland.
To where?
Well, most likely to death. After all, it's not like we're raring to take in ~7 million surviving Israeli Jews here in the US.
And that's the quiet part, I think. The part that people don't realize is being implied.
If Israel is gone, as the chant demands, then where do the 7 million Jewish Israelis go?
"Back home"? To the nations that killed off their entire families?
Because this isn't like land back movements in North America, where it is widely accepted that there would be no expulsions or relocations because they're inhumane.
The expulsions and forced relocations are already underway and currently ongoing.
That's the distinction that I think a lot of gentiles in the west don't grasp.
This slogan isn't "turn Israel over to Palestinian governance to achieve freedom" it's "turn Israel over to Palestinian control to complete the last century of genocides."
Like. Okay. In my ideal world, Israel as a state would never have been founded because the UK wouldn't have Done That To Palestine. But we live in this world, with this history.
To clamour for the dissolution of the Israeli state is to clamour for the slaughter and expulsion of 7 millions Jews. Bro that's half the global population.
Now, do I think "from the river to the sea" is an evil phrase and everyone who says it is genocidal?
No.
I think it's a poetic chant that works well in English and gets a decent message across to most listeners that they should support Palestinian humanity in the face of that genocide.
But I think that if I catch your ass shouting it after a ceasefire or during peace negotiations instead of during actual war crimes?
I won't be likely to trust you. Either you're well intended but uninformed, or worse, you know damned well what you're doing and its vile.
So, I don't know. I guess I would say it's not inherently antisemitic now, at this moment in time.
But give it a few months, and it will be, just like it has been before.

War is always unecessary and is barely justified. This is a one-sided war. Palestine has no army, no nothing, they barely have the roof over their own heads. But it's always justifiable, isn't it? The "hamas" were hiding inside their dreams, inside their humanity, the "hamas" were swimming through the blood of the infant you killed. If you don't support gaza during this brutal ethnic cleansing, imagine you woke up one day and your house was gone. And so was everyone you love. Use some empathy and DO SOMETHING! do not let people die over nothing. do not let humans die over nothing. do not let their dreams die over nothing.

I don't understand how people aren't standing with and for Palastine. People are being killed, children are being killed. Everyone knows this is a genocide, everyone can see this is a genocide. People try to justify this by bringing up Hamas, saying it justifies this clear injustice. No one is saying Hamas wasn't wrong, but innocent people and fucking children for god's sake are being murdered. The kill count has gone farther than comprehendible.
I don't know what to say. I've never dealt with this before. I'm scared, but not more than the Palestinians will ever be, and yet they stand strong. I will continue standing with them.
Sometimes, I want to stop. Sometimes I get overwhelmed, but as long as Israel continues with this ethnic cleansing, as long as Palastine continues fighting, I will continue doing everything in my capabilities for Palastine.

We haven't learned. We haven't learned shit at all.
My country's wealth is directly linked to the exploitation and colonization of other peoples. We call the violent acts commited in Indonesia after ww2 "police actions" as if it wasn't horrific crimes against people who were (justifiably) tired of being occupied and abused by foreign invaders and colonizing dickhats.
Sure, we "lost" the Dutch East Indies. We are not actively colonizing anymore. And yet, we still haven't learned a thing. That "VOC mentality" was never gone, it's still there. It's that mentality of thinking business above everything else, money makes right, who cares how horrifically you abuse people, who cares about the massacre of the Banda islands when you now have all the yummy nutmeg to use and sell. It's not something to be admired, it's something we have to address and resolve, but we're not. We're not doing that, but we have to if we ever want justice of any kind.
We're ruled by dickheads who think that saying "from the river to the sea" is a hatecrime that should be condemned. "Yeah sure, you would've probably said the same thing about the utterance of "Republik Indonesia" less than 100 years ago, no?" is what I say to that. We have not successfully freed ourselves of this damn colonizer mindset!
The only reason the Netherlands ever stopped the "police actions" is because we were threatened with sanctions. Post WW2, it was stop the "police actions" (read: many war crimes) or lose the money from the Marshall Plan needed to rebuild your ruined country. The choice was easy enough.
But noooooo, we can't sanction Israel to get them to, ya know, STOP BOMBING HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS AND CIVILIANS IN GENERAL!!! They're our friends! Fuck no. I know why those asshats ain't sanctioning Israel (at least one of the reasons): they'd lose access to fucking Pegasus; spyware surpreme. Wanna spy on some journalists? Perhaps the opposition? Scary activists? Pegasus is THE spyware for you! Infect ppl's phones and suck up All Teh Data wihout them knowing. Suspected detection of the stuff somehow? Self-destruct, boom. Fantastic stuff if you're into violating ppl's privacy. I don't see this talked about a lot, but Israel is Scary in the cyberwarfare department. And they sell this expertise.
I support Palestine. I hope to see it freed someday. Hopefully soon
To Israel(is): decolonize ur shit. I know, it's hard, it's painful, you'll have to question and unlearn a lot of things. Heck, it may give you an existential and/or moral crisis for a bit. I still get one about nutmeg sometimes. But just like desinfecting a wound, it is ultimately beneficial.

while the absolute horror continues to bombard palestine - the nonstop bombings, the dead bodies in the street and trapped under rubble those living can no longer get to, the restriction of health care, newborn babies left to die, starvation and thirst, literal sewage in the streets spreading disease, all of this in gaza and even in the west bank, the increased bombings there and raids - daily, meanwhile, here in canada, we apparently have nothing fucking better to do then arrest people for using pro-palestine chants under the guise of it being hate motivated.

I wish this was a fucking joke, but no. a protestor in calgary was arrested for using 'from the river to the sea, palestine will be free.' apparently the cops stopped by to 'inform' the protestors what chants were allowed and what were ~no no's~ which included 'from the river to the sea', and when a protestor used it anyway (because it's NOT FUCKING HATE SPEECH) they arrested him. for calling for the freedom of people under an occupation.
this is canada, supposedly one of the most free places to be (built atop the blood of indigenous people but anyways). but with pro-israel propaganda and the weaponizing of anti-semitism being repeated by our media and leaders, shit like this happens.
someone tell me right now where in the phrase 'from the river to the sea, palestine will be free' there is a call for an extermination of jewish people. look me in the fucking eyes and try to find where in that call for freedom it shows hatred for jews. this is fucking pathetic.
this is a call for freedom. this is a call for liberation of a people who've been oppressed and assaulted for years, since before both my 60+ parents were born. this is a call for them to be able to walk freely within their own homes, within their own land, to be able to control their own lives. liberation for their safety and for their children, from the constant risk of arrest, assault and raids by the israeli army.
this is about ending an occupation, not the jewish people & their way of life.
many new sites like cbc and global reported on this as well as others; the global article also interviewed a jewish man, who claimed the chant was anti-semitic. it mentioned that he was the president of an organization called 'Federation CJA' - one google search of their website, and wouldn't you fucking know it, they're in partnership with israel, from 'birthright' trips to allowing you to send goddamn postcards to their poor, sad soldiers who're exhausted from bombing innocent civilians all day.
so while we sit here in safety, humming over think-pieces about whether a demand from an exhausted people to finally let them be free secretly means slaughtering every person of another marginalized group in site, the death toll in gaza has gone above 11,000.
of all the fucking absurd things canadians could be talking about right now, this has to take the first-place blue ribbon.
frankly, what this does mean at least, is one thing - when the occupier starts crying because the people they've trampled on for years demanded they stop & it hurt their feelings, it means they're scared. it means that the marches and support are working. when the oppressors start weaponizing language used for liberation and claim it's a cry to hang them from the gallows, then they're getting desperate. it's a reminder to us all to keep pushing and fight for a liberated palestine.

1)The starbucks boycott is fucking dumb.
Did yall even look up why you're boycotting? The union said "solidarity with palestine" but you know what else they did? They posted a picture of a Hamas bulldozer, which were used in the attack on October 7th.

The phrase is now being used for Palestinian liberation. And I totally understand that most people are not using it against Jews. But growing up I have heard the phrase thrown at me like a curse, and people DO use it to mean that they want Jews gone.
I'm not saying stop using the phrase, because I understand it's big now and I understand what it now means. But don't jump down the throats of Jewish people when they tell you it makes them a little uncomfortable.

i have not been very active on tumblr at all recently but especially in regards to the palestinian genocide, as i have been active on my twitter (magnolisia), but please know i am on the side of the oppressed palestine. if you at all attempt to spread or believe the bullshit propaganda being force-fed to us by the complicit media, that conveniently omits that palestine has been under wrongful occupation for 75 years and 'israel' (an apartheid state founded upon stealing the homes and lands of palestinians) is actively stripping them of their voices and their livelihoods in hope the media will simply close their eyes and see them as a lost cause, you are complicit in genocide and karma will find you. your discomfort is a sign of a beating heart in your chest and if you cannot scream for those who have had their communications stolen from them as well as those who have already lost their beating hearts, get the fuck away from me for as long as your heart continues to pitifully beat.

Another song for the people of Palestine. This one is called "reconnect" and is a little more angry than the other ones. It is first a recognition of the beautiful and intelligent group of Palestinian people who worked hard to restore Palestine's connection to the world and it's just supposed to be a major "fuck you" kind of song towards Israel and the US and their heartless and disgusting videos where they're CHEERING ABOUT THE DEATHS OF INNOCENT CIVILIANS.
My last two songs that I posted here were about the heartbreak and pain that I felt for the children living in Palestine and how they have to grow up so fast because they're witnessing death and carnage that they are too young to fully understand but this song is a praise for the strength and intelligence and kindness that Palestinians have when going through the worst event in this century. It's also just a song calling out the pathetic excuses that Israel gives for killing 10,000 people and committing egregious war crimes. So, just take this as a big fuck you to Israel.
Any Palestinian has full permission to claim this song as theirs. It belongs to Palestine and I hope it can help empower the people living there. You all deserve your land back. You all deserve to live in peace. You deserve nothing of what Israel is doing to you and you will be free one day.

Imagine how much more good could be done if you stopped trying to make what is actually extremely standard military tactics into something uniquely horrible Israel is doing and so that means random Jews the world over are suspect, instead of recognizing what this really is: The reality of every conflict. These are standard military tactics. They are specifically AMERICAN tactics. Do you think the USA has been dropping confetti bombs? Every region ever bombed looked like Gaza. Every region ever besieged had famine and dirty water and disease.
This is just the first time your privileged ass had to see it.
If you hate what you see put pressure on your governments to not fund Israel’s attempts to “destroy Hamas forever” and instead support diplomatic efforts to get hostages released. Instead of calling for the eradication of Israel read a fucking book and support the dozens of grassroots organizations trying to create a peaceful two state solution. Support Netanyahu’s political opponents. Support efforts to remove him from office.
Do you know how much I would love if Netanyahu was removed from office? If his whole regime went? Do you know how many Israelis hate him too? Do you know how awesome it would be if I could write about how Israel has moved from self defense to retribution and that’s not okay, instead of having to explain to 11th graders that war is sad and people die? Do you know how much more time I would have to research and advocate for peace if I didn’t log onto to this website and have to fight antisemitism?
Why, if you have so little taste for the reality of war, do you not advocate for peace and coexistence and instead advocate for the ugly war and bloodshed that would be required to eradicate Israel?
Why if babies dying under rubble causes you distress would you spend all your time interrogating Jews in New Jersey?
Because you don’t actually care about any of this. Because what the west wants is a scapegoat for the sins of their imperialist ancestors. They want to wash their hands of their legacy of colonialism and the I/P conflict is perfect for uneducated white morons to project their guilt onto.
