Long-delayed Discowing update. Got trim on the outside edge of the light blue detail tonight. I still need to finish the upper detailing and the detail around the yellow bits at the waist, but we're getting closer.
Con's in 28 days, so I gotta get my shit together on this.
While it is not the focus of this shot, please note the collar.
I need buttons for the shoes, and this detail work, and this will be all done. There's a wig in play that I think can also double as my newly planned Queen of Hearts '70s-fashion inspired cosplay.
Oh, I also made the hat for the Captain Marvel costume!
This is a hat pattern from the 1950s, which you can grab for free right here! It was part of a booklet of Quick Crochet project for Coats & Clark Speed-Cro-Sheen, which was a size 3 thread. You need a 2.75 hook. Fits my head just fine, but it's easy to add an increase row or two if you need it.
The start on the Captain Marvel dress still needs a straightening, and I still need to finish the shoe soles (they're hell on the hands because they're twine) and the belt bag (just the yellow bit).
All of this is beyond doable with 28 days to go. I gotta get my shit together on Discowing because I KNOW finishing the surface crochet will FUCK, but also, I have to finish it. Which. It's a lot.
But it's gonna look RAD.
Oh, and I have to buy Ghostbuster boots! That's the last thing! The ones I crocheted just didn't look right even after I put them on again, so I'm gonna buy a half-size up to have room for my feet to do whatever they're gonna do, and they'll maybe come into play with other looks later.
