You got any graphic novel recommendations? I know your header says comics but I prefer GNs
i will recommend daytripper by fabio moon and gabriel ba. every time but it’s bc its my favorite. it’s a nonlinear story about a man who writes obituaries for a living and it’s kind of about what his obituaries would say if he had died at different points in his life. some of the other stuff might be shit ive already recced to other ppl but it’s bc they’re 100% worth reading
other recs:
murder falcon by daniel warren johnson- it sounds dumb and it’s got a bit of that comic book goofiness but it hits HARD which is dwj’s specialty. surface level there’s a guy who’s lost his passion for music and murder falcon shows up sayin the world is bein attacked by monsters and the only way to save it is with the power of metal. digging deeper you get into why he lost his passion and it’s very much a metaphor for the battles you have to win to get back to yourself after going through something traumatic
4 kids walk into a bank by matthew rosenburg- a group of kids overhear plans involving one of their parents to rob a bank and they decide the best way to stop it from happening is to rob the bank first. super fan art, super fun story that isn’t afraid to get a little serious
we3 by grant morrison- only read this if you want your fuckin heart ripped out. it wrecked me. three pets who were turned into weapons by the military are set to be “retired” and decide to make a break for it, trying to figure out how to navigate the world while also not get captured
black hole by charles burn- this is if you’re into weirdo indie shit. it’s basically about a supernatural std that permanently manifests physically, changing your body, and how teenagers are dealing with the consequences and stigma. very specific vibes and lots of body horror
and if you’re willing to give superheroes a chance
supergirl: woman of tomorrow by tom king- i could not give a single shit about supergirl and never plan on reading another comic about her but this one was so fucking incredible. the story telling was beautiful, the art was beyond beautiful and it immediately became one of my favorites. it’s about hope, loss, rage, tragedy, and the little things that connect people cannot recommend enough

Hello there! So as an Agender person how can I refer to you respectfully? That is to say do you have pronouns and do you have ones you prefer?
Oh, actually I don't really mind what people use, I think whatever people come up with is fine. In person I have a bit more preference just because sound is different from words.
They/them is safe and I enjoy mixed like he/she she/they he/they those are fun! Any will do though, I'm not picky.
I've even had someone use their native languages pronouns for me before and that's really fun.

Important question! I know you are former SDA. Aren’t they annihilationist? Are you still Annhilationist? This is so interesting to me because I have yet to meet a Christian who is not a little bit afraid of Hellfire! You see I myself have complicated feelings about Hell. I hope it either doesn’t exist or is empty.
eventually yes they are, but it is a little more complicated than that - in sda eschatology as i was taught, at the second coming the living wicked die (first time) and the wicked dead stay that way for the millennium (a literal thousand years) during which satan is allowed to run around on earth and plot and plan and whatever and the saved are in heaven. there, god and the saved are going over the records of everyone who ever lived to see why they were or weren't saved (this doesn't change anything it's just to see). at the end of the millennium everyone comes back down to earth and all the wicked dead are raised and join satan to try to overcome the new jerusalem/holy city, this goes as well as you might imagine and then all the wicked + satan are killed (again) forever and the saved are free to live eternally on the new earth. so yes, they are annihilated.
an important part of the sda idea of the state of the dead is that those who are dead remain unconscious until the second coming of christ. there are no humans in heaven (or hell which isn't actually thought of as a thing that exists until the end) except for those that the bible specifically names as being taken up to heaven (enoch, elijah, moses, those raised at the resurrection of jesus, etc.). this is why there's multiple alive-dead-alive again-dead again events that are important, and also part of why adventists are so weird about saints.
now, for all that growing up sda traumatized me in many ways, fear of an eternal hell wasn't one of those, and i think this is probably adventism's only not-horrible feature. however, an adjacent kind of fear was transferred to the part i skipped over where if you're a Real Christian in the end times you get hunted and tortured/killed by the evil catholic government for going to church on saturday. if you're lucky god will let you die first. also this is going to start happening Very Fucking Soon so better tell god you'd rather die now. this is a bad thing to internalize as a kid! but i did miss out on the eternal hell bit. i wasn't afraid of that, just of the government sponsored torture.
i don't consider myself christian, and i'm pretty agnostic about the afterlife, so i can't say i am afraid of hellfire. if i had to pick a belief about it, i resonate with the idea of purgatorial universalism, and the orthodox christian idea of heaven and hell not being different locations but rather being relative positions to the love of god.

What is your beef with pansexuality? Is it not just another label some people use? What is so bad about that?
I'm just sexier and funnier than everyone who IDs as pan

I saw you had some worries over a lack of typical teenage experiences. Well I’m here to reassure you. More than once I’ve had to reassure myself for the same reasons. I think people that are good at loving other people you know the kind of people you want to befriend and also for some people romantically and passionately partner with Will be non-judgmental.
Also would you want to be close to someone who places so much importance on relatively trivial milestones like when a first kiss, relationship etc. occurred that they discount your worth and the potential you have to be a cool pal and/or partner? I think not! Good friends and partners will value who you are over what experiential milestones you have yet to hit.
I hoped this little encouraging ask/message of mine proved helpful and coherent to you! 😊✌️❤️

Thank you for taking your time to write this lovely message! ^^ I hope that my socially awkward self will be able to find this good non-judgmental person someday. Right now, this sounds like a distant dream and the more time passes the more difficult it seems. But this can't last forever, right?
Well, thanks again for the kind words, have a great day! (^-^*)/

Are you a librarian? I saw that one post of yours and thought this person has probably studied library science.
aaahhh so technically, no. I do not have my MLS. I HAVE worked part time at the nearest branch of my local library system for...6 years? 5 years? what is time? (the only people our system requires to have an MLS are branch managers)
our system is pretty chill about the whole “you are NOT a librarian unless you have a masters of library science” thing. because “to the people who come in, you’re a librarian, so sure, call yourself a librarian”
so like...I am sort of a librarian? I know that that mindset isn’t typical outside of our little system enclave so I never really know how to answer that. usually I say I’m a part-time librarian

If I was fluent in the type of Spanish they speak in Spain. How effectively would I be able to communicate with people in Argentina?
Also just to clarify I do know that Argentinians speak Spanish. I know the wording on that question was weird so I thought I’d clarify that point.
Communicate? Sure. Your accent would be different and you’d use different slang but yes.
Like, in Argentina itself people talk WAY different in different provinces, no more than 1000 kilometers apart. But yes you’d communicate easily.
This video explains it well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyGFz-zIjHE&ab_channel=Int%C3%A9ntaloCarito PUT ON ENGLISH SUBS

First off thanks for answering my question about your picture. Tell your sister I think it is beautiful! Second which one is you and which one is your sister in the picture?
im the one in the right! well, technically just my persona. so is her side (left)! the one on the right aka my persona is hoped to be updated soon by me and every little gay thought in my mind, though so she might have to redraw it soon.

I saw you were taking Judas song recs well I have one for you! Father and Som by Cat Stevens. Now the song is sort of a duet song by one singer. But I interpret some lines differently. I see the son’s lines as a lament of Jesus over the difficulty of getting Judas to listen to Him!
With the exception of one half of a line- if they were right I’d agree but it’s them they know not me. That line is about how Christ understands the fear and anger of his persecutors (Judas, the Pharisees, the Sadducees) because he is indeed upending the Law.
If you want more info/clarification just ask my slightly modified interpretation of this song is kind of a unique passion of mine!
thank you!! apparently i have been missing out on a genre of songs about judas

Hellenic polytheism appeals to me many ways honestly, but mostly 1. it’s more compatible with a “humans aren’t the best form of life” worldview 2. I tend to think of the divine as having many faces, which the polytheism allows for 3. I love Aphrodite and I miss her sometimes 4. same for Hestia and Apollo 5. the worship style comes naturally to me
and more, but honestly I just really like the worship structures and the fact that there are goddesses. plus it’s less formalized these days so worrying about my faith and getting gay married wouldn’t be an issue. O and lastly I feel closest to God in nature and doing art and writing poems which is very compatible with that.
ngl a lot of it is wanting to get AWAY from Christian perfectionism and homophobia ahhhhh   I know there are affirming churches but I struggle with joining them cause I’m scared they’ll not fit either
