i’m not emo but i do believe in their beliefs so. if you’re looking for some great (in my opinion, at least) emo albums you may not have heard of before, here’s a little list i made of underrated* emo album recs:

*by underrated, i don’t mean no one knows about these bands or albums. they’re just outside of the category of super well-known, “emo trinity” type stuff. just wanted to make this clear so no one gets mad at me! XD

Wanted to share a few of my favorite lesser known artists.
Framing Hanley - Very kind dudes from Nashville They use to have a bigger following but they took a break for a few years and when they got back they just need a push to get their following back.
They did the dope rock cover of Lil Wayne's “Lollipop”, but I'm gonna share their new song with you guys.

Issermann - The first song I heard from him was a cover of “Torn” by Natalie Imbruglia but I think yall might like this. It's one of my favorites. Sweet dude from London.

Missio - They're a duo who do more electronic styled music. I definitely think they deserve more recognition.

BRKN LOVE - They did a killer cover of “River” by Bishop Brigs but I'm gonna share with you a song that they made, I still highly recommend you check out their cover. They were on Shiprocked this year so l'm not sure if they're considered small anymore 😂

The Funeral Portrait - If you are a huge fan of My Chemical Romance then my dudes here are for you. They are the sweetest. They show a lot of love to their fans. They’ve done a few covers, all pretty amazing too.

Dead Poet Society - Not sure if these guys are classified as a small band either as they've been around for a long time and have toured with some big names (plus on shiprocked). But I feel no one talks about them so l'm gonna add them to the list.

Slo/tide - I'm sure he doesn't need my help as he's pretty well known the rock community but some of yall might not know how his side project. Spencer Chamberlin of Underpath has a solo project called Slo/tide. Very different from Undergath but gives a nice chill vibe.

Now Steve was getting pushed into a dirty bathroom in a grungy dive bar and Eddie Munson was biting at his neck.
“Oh, fuck.” Steve shivers as Eddie licks a stripe up his neck.

Steve pushes at Eddie’s shoulder and Eddie lets out a dark laugh when his back hits the wall.
“Fuck, Eddie. Let me—let me.” Steve drops to his knees, hands grasping as Eddie’s belt.
“God—fuck. Remind me to send a thank you letter to Framing Hanley.” Eddie breathes and Steve looks up with a questioning stare.
“What?”
Eddie huffs out a laugh. “Nothing baby, it’s nothing. Just—“ Eddie runs a hand through Steve’s hair before pulling at the strands. His other hand grabbing the belt out of Steve’s hand, yanking it off. “Lick me like a lollipop, baby.”
He whimpers as Eddie’s hand tightens in his hair. Steve’s own jut forward pulling at the button on Eddie’s too tight skinny jeans. He pushes them down, taking Eddie’s briefs down with them.
Steve stares at Eddie’s hard cock, licking his lips as he stares at the pre come glistening on the tip.
He’s already got his fucking roommate half naked in a bar bathroom, may as well commit.
Steve leans forward licking a hot stripe from root to tip, before taking Eddie in his mouth, hollowing his cheeks as he does.

Steve had barely pulled off, when Eddie pulls him up, pulling him into a heated kiss. Eddie bites at his lip, before flipping them around.

My first concert was when I was 3, and it was the Crawfish Festival in Biloxi, MS. It was the Charlie Daniels band, and my dad- after the concert was over- ran with me on his shoulders to track down Charlie Daniels, and used me to get an autograph from him. I still have the hat in storage. My most recent concert was '22 in St. Louis, seeing TØP, and my next concert is seeing Greta Van Fleet in a month for the first time.
