Along with flat whites with vanilla and shitty T-shirt printing companies in southern California, Taco Bell and Gmail are probably the lifeblood of the Critical Role team.

Most memorable items of clothing in bl series in 2023
In order of their airing/me watching them:
I'm thankful I've gotten into the habit of noting which shows I watch and when otherwise I wouldn’t be able to remember. As it is, first on my list is Bed Friend, which kind of sets the tone for this post since it features the best and the worst outfit choices for Uea. The waffle robes and cat ears vs the fake sleeves shirt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next is a quick shout out to Por in My School President, since the show started in 2022 but did finish in 2023, and basically all of his outfits. The man is a style icon. But this stripy polo shirt takes the biscuit for me. I need to have it.
Tumblr media
On to Moonlight Chicken and this one is a combined effort between Heart and Li Ming. @telomeke prompted me to write a little about it, but essentially the two shirts together are saying 'you're my other half'. Urthe / Tomato sauce.
Tumblr media
The Gloves! Need I say more? (Alright, for those of you who don't know - how could you not?! - they're from Chains of Heart).
Tumblr media
And now not strictly an item of clothing but an accessory, the most straight ankle bracelet you'll ever see in a thai series. Totally platonic, not gay AT ALL. In Midnight Museum.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In July the different Thai production companies took stock of three versions of the same stripy linin shirt – the cream long-sleeved, the brown short-sleeved, and the charcoal short-sleeved - and proceeded to clad every actor they could in one of them within a three and a half month period (six shows*, eight different characters). We had couple-shirts with both Kawi and Pisaeng and Mew and Top wearing them, and Namneua in Wedding Plan wore all three. (*Step by Step, Be My Favourite, Hidden Agenda, Wedding Plan, Love in Translation, and Only Friends).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Staying in July for a while, and speaking of weddings, Kawi rocked on up to Pearmai and Not's wedding in Be My Favourite in this brown houndstooth shirt and black pants outfit - an almost exact replica of Ray's outfit in the original pilot trailer for Only Friends. I waited with baited breath to see if Ray would still wear the outfit in the actual series...and he did! Not only that, I then realised Uea had already worn it in Bed Friend earlier in the year.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In a surprising turn of events, Be My Favourite – and Krist – turned out to actually be Quite Good. Perhaps distracted by Krist's puppy eyes, we weren't entirely ready for the first appearance of the Dudes shirt – itself a wonderful comment on the narrative since Kawi was figuring out his feelings for Pisaeng – but it was a delight to see it again on Nick in Only Friends, and offering a different narrative comment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This next one may only be notable for me, but when I was doing my dedicated scan through of oh so many shows to collect items for the communal wardrobe, I noticed this sand and grey sweater amongst the many other items of shared clothing which appeared in The Warp Effect and then very briefly on Pisaeng in Be My Favourite. Not long after, the trailer for Last Twilight dropped and I spotted it again immediately. I've also since noticed it in a speed scan of The Shipper. Not only do I think it's a pretty neat sweater, but I loved the effect it gave in Last Twilight, which I wrote about at the end of this post.
Tumblr media
This is getting long but I'm going to keep going (this might be the only 2023 wrap up I do so I'ma make it count).
If you've been following me for a while (or since the BBS days), you’ll know how rabid I go when I see a pair of the yellow-soled Mustard brand shoes in a show. The most recent being in Hidden Agenda worn by Zo…but they're not the ones on this list. Oh no, it's Joke's blue-soled shoes which made me sit up and scream this time...meaning even their shoes were colour-coded in this show. Oh how I wish I could buy a pair of each.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There were many fabulous outfits in Laws of Attraction (especially Charn's) but Tanthai's green rope shirt wins out for me. Green seemed to be used in the show to represent the lies and secrets Tanthai was forced to keep because of his father, and he was metaphorically bound and trapped in these lies and his life. Ah perfection!
Tumblr media
I've mentioned a lot of brilliant items but there have also been many awful ones, and the one I can't seem to stop thinking about (or horrifying over) is the Droopy Tits shirt (or Nipple Protector, whichever way you want to call it) which first appeared in Dangerous Romance and then The Jungle just three days later. I'm surprised we haven't seen it again to be honest, but I imagine if we get more spoiled rich kids we probably will.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These next two aren't specific items but more of a shout out to the whole wardrobe design of the shows.
First, Only Friends, with Mew and Ray's transformation to Ray and Sand's (respective) wardrobe choices, as well as the inversion of colours to highlight differences in relationships, and the use of colour-groupings to separate characters (<- a post i have yet to write). I wish I could write more about it…but life is just too busy to give it the time it needs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second is, of course, Ai Di and Chen Yi in Kiseki: Dear to Me with how they always share a colour in their different outfits. @respectthepetty details this perfectly here, so I don't need to. I am however still feral about these two and can't wait to do a full re-watch of the show.
Tumblr media
And lastly, much like Baseball Mom in Bad Buddy two years ago (and to be honest many of Pat's other shirts), Aof recently gifted us another absolutely ridiculous but brilliantly poignant t-shirt slogan in Mhok's Fart Proudly shirt in Last Twilight, which I went into detail about here. Just A+
Tumblr media
Thanks for sticking with me through all that! Any others that stood out for you or that I missed?

Another Interlude
The Shadow Lord's genetic profile is a lot less clear-cut than your standard megavillain (who is probably half-demon, at the very most).
Digging through his past in Dorne and the late three bonus stories from Tales of Deltora, we have enough info on his family members to construct a gosh damn pedigree.
His mother, Alenan, was pure Fellan.
His father, Peregrine, is more complicated. His mother was Rosalyn, a pure human, but his father was an unnamed man who was implied to be some hybrid of... half-Fellan and pure Fellan.
The most likely scenario from that, I believe, is that he was simply 75% Fellan, but it's possible that one Fellan ancestor was farther up the tree than one generation, that he was the product of some more complex chain of half-Fellan breeding, or even that he was an even 50% and simply meant by "more Fellan" that he was cooler and could talk to trees better. So... anywhere between 50 and 99%.
Under the most conservative estimate, that would make Malverlain, the Shadow Lord, 5/8ths Fellan. Under the 75/25 theory, he would be a neat and tidy 11/16ths Fellan.
Ah, but we're committed to accuracy here, in this treatise on the genetic information of fictional wizards. Past one generation, you aren't always getting an even 50/50 of your ancestors. And the Fellan and humans are, in a sense, different species, what with the innate magic and the colour-changing skin. We want to nail this just right.
When two parents produce offspring, one can imagine the process as each owning 100 marbles, and each randomly taking 50 to place in the pile for the child. Sometimes pieces of the marbles break off and make new marbles with the other marble pieces, but we're going to ignore that and keep this metaphor salvageable.
The most likely outcome is for about 25 of the marbles to come from each grandparent, but since the marbles are being picked randomly, that doesn't have to be the case. It's incredibly, incredibly unlikely, but it's even theoretically possible for all 50 marbles to be the exact ones contributed by just one grandparent.
That means we can stretch the realm of probability for the Shadow Lord's exact mixture eeeven further!
On the maximum human side, where Peregrine somehow managed to carefully select out only human alleles to give this particular son, he could be down to 50% Fellan, an even hybrid.
For the other end, depending on precisely how much Fellan genetic material Peregrine received, the Shadow Lord could wind up as up to a whopping 100% Fellan.
There's really no reason for those probability freak events to have happened, but they do create a range within which any percentage is entirely possible.
All that being said, the most likely outcome still works out to - just about 2/3rds Fellan.
2/3rds, on a heredity check! No wonder he's so messed up.
~
As a bit of a bonus, the fact that we have info on everyone's hair colours means that we can make some rudimentary judgments about Fellans.
Peregrine's parents had black and Fellan red hair respectively, and his hair was black, so to our (simplified) understanding of hair colour heredity, he must be heterozygous, a carrier of the recessive red hair gene. Yet all three of the sons he produced with his red-haired wife also had red hair, something that should only happen 1 time in 8.
This is low enough to suggess that Fellan hair is not just red as a founder effect thing, but is actually some separate trait biologically distinct from human red hair, either genetic or magic-bullshit-induced.

Solace- Jeon Jungkook
Tumblr media
Hi there! Since I have a soft spot for Jungkook I decided to write this for him! This is dedicated to my best friend who's been there for me through it all! I hope you all enjoy!:)
Summary: after a tough time, a boy with doe eyes gives you solace Pairing: JK x female y/n Warnings: mentions of anxiety and uni burnout, light cursing, crying Words: 1334 All rights are reserved
youtube
You dragged your feet on the pavement trying to recharge yourself from the events that had taken place a few hours ago. If only you'd skip this compulsory night lecture, this thought had been torturing your head all day, even more when you realized you'd have to deal with an extra assignment given by your professor at that exact lecture. But even yourself knew that the compunction wouldn't be bearable.
Maybe that's what had led you for a walk at the park near the campus on the cherry blossom epoch. It was as if a tradition was established since you were accepted there, going on walks during that time was free therapy as you would mention to many of your friends and family that you'd put on hold during those long and productive walks. But this time, not even the glooming due to the moonlight petals that you swore you loved so much, could make you look up from the street you were currently walking at.
Checking your phone you noticed it was already past midnight. For a moment you thought it was time for you to return and spend the night at the library instead, trying to think of possible ways to actually make it through the new challenge. The thought was very spontaneous though and as you felt rebelous enough, you decided to ignore it and leave it for another time. Suddenly, you'd reached the center of the campus' park, the once crowded swings and pic nic tables being desolated due to the late of the hour.
You sat on one swing, slightly moving back and forth, your hands gripping tightly the chains holding the swing steady as you faced the peaceful road you were walking a few moments ago, the cherry blossom trees standing high and tall on each side, their beautiful pink flowers showing as if they were stars in the night sky. How little do we know about the hardships of other people? "Darn it" you whispered to yourself feeling a tear sliding down your cheek, leaving a hot path behind. You didn't mean to cry, your tears were precious. But you couldn't help it. So you sat there, light sobs escaping, as if this was a dump of negativity, as if this was the recharge you so desperately needed.
"Jimin?" a voice echoed through the darkness making you startled as you brought your sleeves up to quickly wipe your teary eyes. The surprise was so big, you didn't even wonder who else was roaming like crazy around the parks at past midnight. "I swear Park Jimin, if you don't pick up- Ugh!" the boyish voice sounded angry but also a bit of desperate too as his steps quickened and you could clearly see his figure. He was tall, in a pair of black jeans and a plain t-shirt tucked in, over it an open shirt. He seemed stressed enough by the way he tried to dial the number again after passing several hands through his hair. For a moment, you forgot about your own problems after seeing that guy who seemed so troubled, he hadn't even noticed you.
"Ugh for the love of God!" he threw his hands up in despair after he was met with the answering machine once again. Your wondering eyes didn't seem to leave him as his back faced you. Shoving his phone back in his pocket he turned around and froze to his feet after coming across your face. He definitely looked embarassed, you could tell by the light blush on his cheeks. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry" his voice dropped, sensing the tention on his features. His big doe eyes were so pleading and you swore it was the first time you'd come across a pair like those. "Oh don't mention it" you quickly shook your head. "Can I- Can I sit there?" he sighed pointing at the empty swing next to you. "Sure you can" you tried to force a soft smile on your lips as he quietly did. You both remained silent as you swinged for a bit.
"I'm sorry for intruding. It's just that I have nowhere else to go" he sighed and you turned to him. "My roomate locked me out and he's not answering the phone and this is where I come to think clearly". "So that makes our problems two" you shrugged your shoulders, "I come here for the exact reason. And you're not intruding" you added. "You also have a problem? That make us problem partners!" he said very cheerfully for someone with such a situation going on, that made you chuckle a bit. "But if you don't mind, what happened?". "My courses have been a pain in the ass lately. And I'm also far from home which is kind of depressing for me" you said watching how his eyes were fixed on you the entire time you spoke.
"You know what, partner? Life can be a pain in the ass. From what I know, I mean look at me, I can't even get in my own place. But you're trying and that along shows your strength" he smiled. "You're way too positive", "That's the only way to cope, you know? Oh by the way, I am Jungkook! I can't keep calling you partner, that'd be weird" he said earning your laugh as a response. "I'm y/n" you said taking his extended hand in a handshake. "Don't take things so seriously, y/n, or else you're gonna miss out on so much. Let lose okay?" he gave you a comforting smile. "I just wish it didn't have to be that way" you sighed, but his glare was on something else. "Jungkook?" "You know what they say about those trees?" he asked and you shook your head negatively, "That if a petal lands on your hand, you're gonna meet your true love" he pointed towards the trees. "Wanna find out?" he proposed. "What?" "Oh come on, y/n, we can't be grieving forever! Now let's go!" he sprinted off and you followed him.
With the excitement of a child, Jungkook extended his arm, palm facing the sky as the night breeze blew the petals off. You did the same, not hoping for much. "How is this working again?" you questioned looking up at him who was giddily looking up in the sky. "Just wait for a bit!" he smiled. You were ready to give up when a big, pink petal landed easily in the center of your palm. Your eyes went eagerly wide as Jungkook gasped, "Y/n, you did it!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It's so pretty!" you sighed looking up to see most of your sky view being covered by the cherry blossoms. "I hope I've packed enough!" Jungkook's arm held your waist close as the other one was occupied with the pic nic basket. "Babe, what you packed is more than enough" you giggled remembering your boyfriend's determination to make enough snacks to feed the entire campus. "Never say no to food" he cheekily said before kissing your cheek, "now come, let's not miss it" he grabbed your hand as you made a run for it. You reached your usual spot, those two swings in which you'd met a few months ago.
"The wind is a bit strong" he noticed as he was setting down your stuff and you helped. Your alone walks there was replaced by another tradition, a more loving one which was going on past-midnight dates with your boyfriend at the exact same place. "But I think that still we're gonna have a great time" he smiled but you were too deep in thought to respond. Your glare had a warm feeling, while looking at the smiling man who was currently placing your drinks. This man was brought to you by luck itself, he was your comfort, your solace, your boyfriend. "What are you thinking of so deeply? Come on, let's go now" he said getting firmly your hand in his and leading you. You were side by side with each other, your arms extended as thw wind blew in between the cherries. You turned to him, as you cupped his hand with yours, intertwining them before extending them again. "That's the right way" you nodded leaving a kiss on his cheek, right before a petal landed.
"You know I don't need this as a love sign" he said. And neither did you. Because all you wanted was right in front of you. A solace in human form, in those doe eyes that behold the galaxies in them.

styg’s story thoughts (I): character reactions
(This post is brought to you by my wonderful friends who asked about my thoughts on plotting!)
We tend to think of plotting as what happens next or what the characters do, ie. action. But stories are a cycle of action-reaction, and we don't always give the reaction part its full weight. Three-act structure has both action and reaction beats, yet the so-called "major" beats that manuals like Save the Cat recommend defining first are all action: Catalyst, Break into 2, Midpoint, All Is Lost, Break into 3...
Of course all of those have matching reaction beats, so reactions aren't being ignored by the 3-act model; it's just that the established process is to figure out reactions after you've got the action down. Chronologically, that makes sense. But I think that leads us to see reactions as the less important half, when in fact they are what breathes life into any story.
I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and it's helped me feel a lot more connected to whatever I'm writing, so I want to talk about it here.
Reactions shape a story to a degree that sets it apart from others with similar chains of events. Because anything could happen to anyone—but people rarely view or feel about everything the same exact way. The same events told from different perspectives can radically change what type of story it becomes!
Imagine this: if you're going somewhere with plenty of time to spare, and you miss the train you were planning to take, well, it's alright, you can wait for the next one, or maybe walk partway. But if you're running late, like I often am, and you miss the train, you're probably going to get really stressed out. And if you were going somewhere important to you, there will be an added layer of urgency and frustration when you miss the train, making that seem even more dire.
What I mean is: no event is intrinsically significant. The characters' reactions make it so.
Any event is important in the eyes of the story and the audience only to the degree that the characters assign importance to it. And this degree of importance also determines who the characters are, which in turn answers the question of what they do next.
Here's a classic example that blew my mind when I heard it phrased in these terms recently: Shakespeare's Othello.
The action that jumpstarts the tragic spiral—Iago planting Othello’s wife’s handkerchief in Cassio’s room—is in itself only significant because of Othello's reaction. If Othello had decided to not freak out and jump to conclusions when he discovered it—if, instead, he'd had a healthy conversation with his wife and cleared up Iago's deception—the story would have been very different! But Othello reacts with jealousy and mistrust of Desdemona (as Iago wanted him to). Those feelings fester, and move him to eventually kill her and, later, himself. That’s why the story becomes a tragedy—because Othello’s reactions leave no room for any other outcome.
And it starts with a stupid handkerchief! But the handkerchief is important to us because it's important to Othello.
This is why, when trying to come up with "big" moments for an outline, sometimes rather than starting with actions it's easier to think first: what kind of reaction am I looking to provoke at this stage? Am I looking for a turn for the better or a turn for the worse? And then second: what kind of action would trigger that reaction?
The ways in which characters care, or don't—and by extension the ways we as the audience care—make up a big part of the story and can define tone and genre as well.
Another example: imagine a character commits murder.
Murder is an act that we can all universally agree is big and bad and world-shaking. There are countless stories that center around a murder (or many) and how they shape the lives of the characters who suffered in the wake of that act, creating stories of revenge or disillusionment or justice.
In those stories, murder is Big. But then on the other end of the spectrum, we have Tarantino movies, where characters will shoot someone and not even look while they do it, and the story moves on unbothered. This lack of reaction is a kind of reaction too. It tells us: this is a story in which murder is small and easy and the deaths of random people are unimportant. We don't linger in the unimportant. Those murders carry no moral weight for the audience; we're likelier to feel amazement at the fake blood fountaining on-screen than mourn the loss of a life. But the story will linger in the deaths of characters who are significant, like Bill in Kill Bill. The time spent in his final monologue and the unpacking of motivations and consequences set him apart from the nameless dead and honor his importance to the story.
I believe this is, in part, what people are trying to communicate when they say "show, don't tell". (Which is flawed advice for prose, especially if taken to the extreme, because it was originally an adage for theater, but anyway.) What it means is, if you want the audience to perceive something as important, show the character reacting to it like it's important. Spend time and words in the moments that affect your characters. If you just "tell" the information and move right along, and we don't see any notable reaction, we can assume it's not important and we don't need to emotionally attach to it.
This is an oversimplification. Sometimes telling is preferable to showing, because showing takes more words and being straightforward has its own place. (And sometimes telling lets you set things up discreetly on the side so you can expand on them later, so you just make them seem unimportant until they're not. There are a million reasons to tell instead of show.)
But I really love that deciding how much time and space you spend on reactions shapes the action and pacing and feel of the story. Every genre you can think of that "feels" a particular way when done right feels that way because reactions are consistent with the inner logic of the genre. (Meeting a certain stranger a number of times in different places can be exciting in the set-up of a romance; but if it's a thriller, the character noticing the pattern may well be concerned instead.)
I've been trying more than ever to look for big reactions, and reverse-engineer the events that would prompt them by getting at the heart of the character, because watching someone care too much is way more engaging than watching them care only a little.

Quote
"Indeed. I have watched you, child. Watched and wondered if I should bend a self-imposed rule of mine." "And that would be?" "Interference." Silence fell. Stephen licked his lips as he worked through the implications. He had never been particularly religious; and when Donna...well, that had been the end of it. After that he had seen too much to really put stock in a loving being who could sit back and- "Why?" Stephen could not elaborate on that simple question, but unsurprisingly The One understood his intent anyway. "Without pain, there is no pleasure. Without hardship, there is no ease. Meaning is found in the between. Tell me, child, what point would there be if my hand guided every single decision my children make? Why create at all? You rebelled when your own mother tried to correct your backwards 'r' when you were learning to write—are you telling me you would be content with me controlling your life?" The One gestured to the countless paths before them. "For better or for worse, the worlds I birth are allowed to create their own destinies. And I watch, as unlike myself you, all of you, possess the ability to grow and change and make new choices. You learn, you weep, and I love every one of you for that." "Are you serious? So many atrocities on Earth alone-" "And I have not caused them. Humans have made those decisions. Perhaps humanity should do better." Stephen had nothing to say to that. The One chuckled. "Oh child; my dear one." Stephen shuddered, uncertain of what to do in the face of such unconditional love. He wanted to laugh and sob in equal measure. He wanted to sink into it and lose himself but fear kept him rooted in the spot. "Then, if you are," Stephen gathered his thoughts to continue. "If you do not interfere, then why consider it now?" The One nodded, slow and thoughtful. "Because, now, trillions of lives are in the balance. Not only in your dimension, but across the Multiverse itself. To bring the Stones together and use them in such a way—the effects will ripple across time and space. Death is inevitable. It is natural. Yet what the Titan seeks to accomplish is the highest of follies. As you well know the souls have been taken into the Soul stone, removing them from Death's hands. And once Thanos destroys it-" "I'm sorry, wait. He destroys the Stones? The energies that construct the fabric of the Universe?? What does he expect to happen when he does that? Reality will unravel—time will cease to exist—it will collapse into itself-!" "From what I understand, he expects to be able to retire to a farm in peace." Stephen stared; he thought he could feel his mind crack from the sheer stupidity. No. The utter insanity to assume that shattering the Infinity Stones will have no effect on the universe whatsoever. How could he have missed that when he peered into the future? "In your defense, child, the effects would not be immediate. It would be a slow, inevitable end centuries after the fact. A contraction triggered billions and billions of years early, so to speak." The One sighed. "This has happened once before; not this exact situation, admittedly, but a broken soul driven by trauma and despair setting off a chain of events that causes the end. But even that wasn't as...dire. All in all, the Cosmos has reset six times. But as I watched you, I-" The One trailed off, staring into the distance. Stephen dared not interrupt them this time. "I wondered if I would be satisfied. The end is inevitable—to allow the universe to expand until it can do so no longer. I have my rules, and I make it a point to keep to them. For, as you well know, once you bend one it becomes tempting to continue over and over until everything breaks." "But this one is unnatural, yes? This is the contraction that is one step too far. Because of the Stones' destruction." "Hmmm. Indeed. The destruction of the stones means that my Cosmic Egg cannot form. Typically, when a collapse occurs, the energies of the stones is what forms the next universe. And when the Egg cracks, the various forces necessary for its operation collect into what you refer to as the Infinity Stones. And so it goes—over and over again."
Have Time — Will Travel by flower-of-el (NibelungVelocity)
Yeah, I don’t buy it either, Stephen. If I was faced with being like this, and it said to me, it loves us all equally, but still allowed for atrocities to happen, I would be like “You don’t love us. You enjoy watching us, that’s what it is. A sick entertainment for you”. It’s not really that hard to prevent atrocities from happening without making humanity into puppets. If they are omnipotent they are able to do it, but they delude themselves into believing that allowing us freedom with no limits is an act of love, even when it causes harm and trauma to the children One Above All claims to love. So, yeah, nope. Bye. Atheism rules.

Phmonth22 Prizes and Potential Redo
Hello all!
As you may have seen on my latest post, I have recently learned that this blog @phmonth2022 is experiencing some technical difficulties--and has for longer, and a greater extent, than I realized. I don't get notifications properly, I don't get notified at all if people tag the blog, my posts don't show up in site's tags, and it seems you have to click on the blog itself to see any of its posts.
This, of course...is a massive hindrance to hosting events on this blog.
I have contacted the Tumblr staff but, as far as I know, they have not replied or fixed the problem yet, and I'm not certain whether they will.
I believe all these problems occurred during Phmonth22 in May/June.
This might mean that a lot of people who wanted to participate in Phmonth22...never saw the posts about it.
I was wondering, would you guys like to do a redo of Phmonth22? It would be a repeat of the same exact prompts, just allowing people who didn't see it before participate now. I would host it on my ph (and vnc) sideblog @this-idiots-left-eye. Perhaps we could do it the same time as vncmonth22? Or we could do it earlier or later.
Also, I said I would do a raffle for phmonth22, with prizes from the ph 15th anniversary shop. I ordered the prizes, however, I used a proxy I don't usually use, and in May they emailed me to basically say "They might come in June, and they might come in November." I was holding out that it'd be sooner, but, well...it's looking like November.
However, I have multiple copies of the Chained ph zine to offer as prizes if you guys would rather have those, and get your prizes sooner. One of the copies has all the merch included.
If you guys want a redo of Phmonth22, I will wait to decide anything about the prizes until the redo finishes and we have more potential recipients (everyone who participated in the original phmonth22 will still be eligible).
If you don't want a redo, would you guys prefer to have the ph zines as prizes sooner?
So sorry for the inconvenience

Introducing More OC's
So, I've now reached Section Two of Just Keep Diving Down (sequel to Something Like a Spiral). Spiral stuck to the main canon storyline for the Stand and was mostly just an OC insert (Hayden Flynn). Section One of Diving was still in their wasteland of a world, and threw in two more primary OC's (Steph Graham and Max Deckard) . But Section Two...? Whole new world - brand new characters. So, may be appropriate to introduce these guys as they begin to appear:
Quentin "Quinn" Turner
(Faceclaim: Tom Hiddleston)
Tumblr media
Quinn grew up with knowledge of the Institute from Day 1. He comes from a long line of scholars that worked in the research department of the UK branch, following in his father's footsteps by taking a concentration of history and lore. Unlike any before him though, he also opted to go out on various field missions. If asked, he would tell you that it gave him a better understanding of the subject material by seeing current cultures and trends in practice; by feeling the surrounding energy while being on site. He'd neglect to mention the rush that came after succeeding in a retrieval. In outsmarting the opposition. In knowing he had stopped a threat to the delicate balance of their world.
Rayna Brooks
(Faceclaim: Jessica Chastain)
Tumblr media
Rayna has been in charge of the Institute for over a decade now. Ambitious and sharp witted, she climbed to the top of the chain quickly, starting off in the Bright Futures training program. While other student would partake in social activates and clubs, Rayna would be in her room with theory books, mythology books, research documents. Strategy came naturally to her, and she dominated in her leadership during all mock disaster scenarios that were randomly sprung on their classes. Post graduate, she travelled across the world in organized events, shadowing those in charge, getting a sense of the larger picture. Her inquisitive nature also lead to many useful discoveries during this time. Since her appointment, the institute has never had higher enrollment, and a higher success ratio, in their history, and she has no plans to let up in their forward advancement.
Della Coleman
(Faceclaim: Nathalie Emmanuel)
Tumblr media
Della always knew she was a bit different, even at a very young age. Once she was able to attend school, her parents signed her up for the Bright Futures gifted program, and she had stayed on their main campus ever since. She was one of the few students who stay over breaks and holidays, and everybody had stopped asking about her family after the first two years of this, not that it would do any good anyways. Della mainly kept to herself, and most times would wonder around the campus in a daydreaming state, her sketch pad, notebook, and pastels never far from reach. Considered the prodigy of her class, her academic achievements always surprised those around her, as she never seemed to have much focus in anything other than her own artistic endeavors.
Gwendolyn "Gwen" Acker
(Faceclaim: Morena Baccarin)
Tumblr media
There's not much in the underground scene that Gwen is not aware of, and its common knowledge that she has either already given approval or is watching events, ready to redirect should it take a turn she does not approve of. While her exact age is now only known to her, she makes it very clear that it has taken over a millennia to achieve her status in the world, and she's nowhere near ready to give up her seat of influence. Cunning, crafty, and charming, Gwen holds power in just her presence, and even those with the most devious of intentions will second guess themselves under her gaze.

Phmonth22 Prizes and Potential Redo
Hello all!
As you may have seen on my latest post, I have recently learned that the @phmonth2022 blog is experiencing some technical difficulties--and has for longer, and a greater extent, than I realized.

TJ Powar Has Something to Prove is out!
I have to admit, I’m kind of surprised the book came out on June 7, the release date that was set a year ago (due to supply chain issues during the pandemic, a LOT of books have been pushed back). Another special thing about the release date: June 7, 2019 was the day I officially started writing this book. I knew where I wanted the book to go but was just setting off on the journey of how to get there. I really had no idea at the time how this telling this story would change my life for the better in so many personal ways. And now, three years later on that exact date… it’s out in stores for anyone to pick up. Feels pretty poetic. And surreal.
I had my launch event on release day and it was wonderful. The turnout was better than I expected! I got a chance to talk about the book, read an excerpt, and answer questions. And, of course, sign books.
My wonderful Canadian publicist Sam Devotta also organized for me to go to a few bookstores to sign their stock and that was also an excellent time.
Tumblr media
I’ve also just casually gone into a few Indigos to look for and sign the book—it’s always a wonder to see it there when they have it in stock. Just casually sitting on the shelf, nbd, not like it was my childhood dream to have that happen or anything! :’)
Tumblr media
I’ve also met some cool people and booksellers who have all been so kind. And now that release week is winding down, I’ve had the opportunity to reflect. Debut month was extremely busy for me. Doing all the promo, including interviews and podcasts and articles, was a lot (and still is, I’m not done yet. Lol)! During debut week, I took time off with the goal of just enjoying, and have done exactly that. I knew that nothing really at this point was in my control, and therefore tried to focus my goals for the week inward. Meeting friends, doing events, taking time to relax and travel, celebratory dinners, etc. But I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised by things that happened outside of my control—mostly by the people I already knew, who supported me so much. There have been multiple times this week where I’ve genuinely had no words because of how much friends, both in real life and online, have shown up for me in so many different ways. I’m lucky to have them, to have community. They have truly made my debut week wonderful.
And so that’s it, I guess! I’m looking forward to slowly transitioning back into writing (I’ve taken over a month off from it to do promo! GASP), but I of course hope people will continue to discover and enjoy TJ Powar Has Something to Prove, and I will be here to talk about it if you do! It is my debut novel after all, and a special book to me for so many reasons.
I would never have been able to guess the path I took here. I’ve been wanting to be an author since I was a kid. It came true, but not in the way I expected even six years ago when I started writing seriously with the goal of publication. It’s been an interesting journey with many unexpected twists and turns. But, those are often the best kinds of stories.

From Farm to Fork: Exporting Fresh Indian Fruits to the United States
A nation with a diverse population, rich cultural traditions, and distinctive flavors, has long fascinated the world with its culinary wonders that is India. Its many gifts to the world's palate include a wide variety of mouthwatering fruits that thrive in its fertile soil and beneficial environment. The demand for these delicious Indian fruits has sharply increased in recent years on a global scale, with the United States emerging as a significant market.
Tumblr media
A lot more goes into the process of exporting fresh Indian fruits to the US than simply taking them off trees and sending them across the ocean, as this Farm to Fork story explains. The delivery of a piece of India's thriving agriculture to American customers is the result of careful cultivation, exacting quality control, global logistics, regulatory compliance, and intelligent marketing. Here you will get information about the export and import of fruits from India to the USA.
How To Export Fruits from India to USA
Fruit exports from India to the USA can be successful but demand careful planning, consideration of various rules, and compliance with industry standards. The following is a guide for exporting fruits from India to the USA:
Market analysis and selection of products:
Perform a thorough market analysis to determine which fruits are popular in the USA. Think about elements like consumer preferences, seasonal availability, and current rivalry. Choose fruit kinds that are appropriate for long-distance travel and have export potential.
Regulation Compliance Requirements:
Understand the phytosanitary and quality standards set out by the United States Department of Agriculture, also known by its abbreviation USDA, and the Food and Drug Administration, also referred to as FDA. Validate that the fruit types you have chosen to comply with all import regulations in the USA, including pest control procedures and pesticide MRLs (Maximum Residue Limits).
Certification and quality assurance:
Put quality control systems in place during the production, harvesting, and packing phases. Obtain the required certifications, such as Global GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) or applicable organic certifications.
Harvesting and Packaging:
To ensure the best flavor and durability, pick the fruits when they are at their ripest. Make sure you use packaging materials that adhere to international standards, such as cartons, crates, or containers. Put adequate labeling in place that includes product details, barcodes, and the country of origin.
Logistics for Cold Chains:
Operate the cold chain to keep the fruits fresh and of high quality while they are being transported. To guarantee temperature control, spend money on refrigerated containers or storage spaces.
Documentation and Customs Clearance:
With the assistance of fresh fruit exporters in India, put together the required export paperwork, such as the bill of lading, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, and invoice. Follow customs laws, such as those relating to tax compliance, labeling requirements, and import permits.
Selecting Export Partners:
Find trustworthy US export partners or agents who can help with distribution and local marketing. To manage the difficulties of the American market, work with knowledgeable importers or distributors.
Logistics and Shipping:
Pick a trustworthy freight forwarder with experience shipping perishable goods. Plan the delivery schedule well in advance, accounting for seasonal changes and transportation times.
Market Promotion and Distribution:
Create a marketing plan to market your Indian fruit in the US. Attend trade events, use digital marketing, and establish connections with regional wholesalers and merchants.
Feedback and Continuous Improvement:
To improve the efficiency of your export operation and the quality of your products, gather distributor and consumer feedback. Continually enhance your export processes using the knowledge gained from past shipments.
Conclusion
The intricate and interesting world of fruit export from India to the United States will be explored in this investigation. We have successfully traversed the complete supply chain and the numerous variables that affect the success of this endeavor, from the hands that tend the orchards to the plates that receive these sweet gifts.

From Corporate Agent to Mercenary: A Biography Of V
As the neon-lit streets of Night City bustled with life, there was one figure who seemed to stand out amongst the crowds - V.
Little was known about the enigmatic mercenary, save for her gender and age, 27. Even her real name remained shrouded in mystery, as did her exact birth date - all that was certain was that she was born in Heywood in the year 2049.
But it wasn't just her anonymity that made her unique. V was a former Arasaka agent turned solo, wielding a prototype Shingen Mark V as her weapon of choice. Her abilities were as deadly as they were varied, with a mastery of net running and assassination. Her garage was just as impressive as her arsenal, housing both a sleek Mai Mai and a powerful ARCH Nazare "Itsumade".
But what truly set V apart were her striking features -hair as blue as the sky, and kiroshi pupils that shimmered like pearls. It was no wonder that many whispered about her in the dark alleys and smokey bars of Night City. Yet despite her reputation as a ruthless mercenary, there were those who couldn't help but be drawn to her mysterious aura.
V's early life was shrouded in mystery, much like the rest of her enigmatic existence. She was born in Heywood, but no one knew who her blood parents were - she had been abandoned on the streets, left to fend for herself. It wasn't long before she was taken in by the Valentino gang, who raised her as their own.
As V grew older, many assumed that she would follow in the footsteps of her surrogate family and become a full-fledged member of the Valentinos. But V had other plans - she knew that the gang life was not for her, and so she made the difficult decision to leave for good.
It was during this time that she sought counsel from the padre, who listened to her reasons for leaving and wished her good luck on her journey. From that moment on, V was a lone wolf, relying only on her own wits and skills to survive in the dangerous world of Night City.
It wasn't long before her unparalleled net-running abilities caught the attention of Arasaka, the most powerful corporation in the city. V was thrilled at the invitation to work for the counter-intelligence division, eager to prove herself and live a life of luxury and power. But little did she know that her decision to join the corporation would set off a chain of events that would change her life forever.
For six years, V had been a loyal servant of Arasaka, working her way up the ranks with her skills and unwavering devotion.
But everything changed in an instant when she was ordered to assassinate a target, only to find herself betrayed by her own superior. The shock and betrayal were almost too much for V to bear, and it was only thanks to the intervention of Jackie Welles that she managed to escape with her life.
Despite their rocky past, Jackie took V in, showing her nothing but kindness and understanding. Mama Welles, too, welcomed V into their home and treated her like one of their own. Slowly but surely, V began to rebuild her life, helping Mama with El Coyote's business and finding solace in the warmth of their family.
But V couldn't shake the feeling of shame and guilt that came with her abandonment of her roots and the gang that had raised her. When she ran into the padre again, she accepted his offer of a ride and they caught up on old times. But their journey was interrupted by members of the Sixth Street gang, who made a grave mistake by disrespecting the padre.
V took matters into her own hands, showing the gang members the error of their ways and proving that she had not forgotten her roots. The padre was relieved to see that V still had the fire of Heywood within her, and he urged her to come back to the gang. But V refused, determined to forge her own path and leave behind the shackles of any organization or corporation.
As V traversed the bustling streets of Night City, memories of her past life as a corporate agent continued to haunt her. But she had come a long way since then, and her days were now spent as a skilled mercenary, taking on gigs with her partner Jackie. However, V's lack of experience and skills began to prove problematic during their assignments. Jackie, a mentor and a friend, saw her struggle and offered his guidance, teaching her the ropes slowly but surely.
As their partnership blossomed, V found herself forming bonds with others in the city. T-Bug, Vic, Misty, and Mama Welles all became a part of her life. For the first time since leaving the corporation, V found people who cared for her and loved her.
But when a big gig came their way, V's intuition warned her that something was off. She had developed a keen eye for seeing through people's lies during her years at Arasaka, and she knew that the fixer Dexter was unreliable from the moment she met him. Despite her reservations, V and Jackie proceeded with the gig, relying on V's past experience to make it through.
Everything should have gone according to plan, but it didn't. Jackie, the person who had taken her in when she was at her lowest, who had become her family and her protector, was gone. V was left with feelings of guilt and regret, blaming herself for his death even though the relic had saved her own life.
Now, V's sole purpose was to seek revenge on Arasaka and anyone else who had caused her pain.
Her newfound family and friends were her motivation to keep going, to protect them at all costs. V knew that she could never repay Jackie for everything he had done for her, but she would honor his memory by living the life he had taught her, with resilience, courage, and an unbreakable will.
As V restarted her life as a solo, she found that some old habits from her corpo days had managed to cling to her. But V quickly discovered that her experience in the corporate world gave her an advantage in her new profession. Her expertise as a net runner allowed her to easily craft false identities and infiltrate high-security events undetected. V knew how to blend in seamlessly, to dress and speak the part, making her invisible to any potential suspicion.
With her skills and Jackie's teachings, V quickly made a name for herself in the dangerous and ruthless streets of Night City. She achieved all the goals she and Jackie had dreamed of, becoming one of the most sought-after mercenary in the city.
Yet, V never forgot her roots and the people who had shown her kindness. Mama Welles was like a mother to her, and V longed for her to live with her. But Mama Welles refused, so V bought several properties near El Coyote, ensuring she could visit her anytime. V knew that her family would always be her priority, even in the midst of her thrilling and dangerous new life.
-Additional Information-
V's love for music and relaxation took her to some of the most elegant and stylish bars in Night City. She enjoyed the vibes of different genres and the way the melodies captivated her mind. But V didn't just stop there, her passion for jazz took her on long drives through the city, where she could be lost in the rhythm and melody of her favorite songs.
When V wasn't driving around, she found herself in her mansion by the poolside, her own private sanctuary in the midst of the bustling city. The sound of the water and the serene atmosphere of her mansion was the perfect way to unwind after a long day of mercenary work. But there were times when the mansion just wasn't enough, and V would check into the Dark Matter Hotel, where she could indulge in the luxurious amenities and pampering services.
It was at one of these hotels that V met Kerry, a fellow music enthusiast who shared her love for jazz. They quickly became good friends and bonded over their love for music and the finer things in life. Together, they would take trips on yachts, sipping on champagne and enjoying the company of one another. Sometimes they would discuss music, and their thoughts on the world, and other times they would simply enjoy the peace and quiet of the open sea.
In a city where danger lurked at every corner, V found solace in her hobbies. It was through music, relaxation, and the company of friends that she found a sense of balance and tranquility in her chaotic life as a mercenary. These moments of peace were fleeting, but they were essential for her to recharge and face the challenges of Night City head-on.
V had always been a lone wolf, forced to fend for herself in a world that had abandoned her. She had grown up without parents, without a home, without any sense of belonging. But despite her tough exterior, V had a soft spot for those who were also struggling. She had a deep sense of justice, and she was not afraid to take matters into her own hands to right the wrongs she saw in the world.
Her ties to the Valentino Gang and the Haywood district were strong, but they did not define her. She refused to be pigeonholed by anyone or anything. She would always take the side of truth and justice, even if it meant offending those close to her.
V's cold and detached persona often made people think that she had no feelings, but that was far from the truth. She had a soft side that she kept hidden away, only revealing it to a select few. She had a deep sense of loyalty and cared deeply for the people she considered family.
V's makeshift family consisted of Vic, Misty, and Mama Welles. They were the ones who had always been there for her, even when no one else was. They had become the family she never had, and she cherished them more than anything else in the world.
If there was one thing that V knew for sure, it was that she would never leave Night City without her makeshift family. They were her support system, her backbone, and her reason for continuing to fight for justice. Despite her love-hate relationship with the city, she knew that her family would always be there to see her through the toughest times.
V's relationships with Takemura and Johnny were both complex and meaningful in their own ways. Takemura was someone V had known from her past life as a Corpo, and although they had different views on the world now, she still considered him a friend. She admired his dedication to his cause, even if she could no longer agree with it herself. Their conversations often turned to debates about the nature of power and control, and V valued his perspective as someone who had seen the inner workings of the corporate world.
On the other hand, Johnny was someone V had been forcibly linked to after the death of her friend Jackie. At first, she found him irritating and abrasive, constantly butting heads with him over their differing personalities and goals. But over time, V came to see Johnny as a valuable companion and confidant. He pushed her to see things from different angles, to challenge her assumptions about the world and herself. He may have been a digital construct in her mind, but to V he was as real as any person she had ever known.
Despite the differences between these two relationships, they shared one common trait - they were both important to V's growth and development as a person. Takemura represented her past, a reminder of who she used to be and what she had fought to leave behind. Johnny represented her future, a reminder that even in the darkest of times there was always the potential for something new and unexpected to arise. Together, they both helped V navigate the complexities of Night City and find her place in a world that was constantly changing.
After a few unsuccessful attempts at dating, including a few people like River and Judy, V never found anyone that truly made her heart skip a beat. After her peaceful breakups with both of them, she had almost given up on finding love. But then, fate intervened in the form of a mysterious woman named Meredith Stout. V had saved Meredith's life during a past gig with Jackie but never expected to see her again. To V's surprise, Meredith reappeared in her life and the two quickly became inseparable. At first, V was hesitant to trust Meredith, seeing her as just another cold, heartless corpo executive. But as she got to know her better, V discovered a softer, more vulnerable side to Meredith that she couldn't resist. They spent countless nights together, talking about their pasts, their dreams, and their fears. V knew that she had finally found the person she had been searching for all along, and she was determined to hold on to her no matter what.

How to Choose Custom Jewelry for a Loved One
While it’s true trends come and go, some styles transcend time. Personalized jewelry is one of those style statements because it’s meant to last and be loved forever. That’s why high-quality handmade jewelry continues to be an exceptional gift for both the giver and receiver. Artisans take great pride in their work, and it shows in the final piece. The person wearing the jewelry gets to wear something completely original and maybe even pass it on to the next generation. If you’re considering gifting custom jewelry to a loved one, what do you need to look for? Let the following tips be your guide.
Tumblr media
Make It Personal Everyone has a story to tell. Those beautiful stories can be reflected in personalized jewelry. It’s a symbolic way for the wearer to remember places, people, and events that have shaped them along the way. Plus, adding a touch of personalization to someone’s jewelry collection makes it a more meaningful gift. Lockets with diamonds are great examples of story-telling jewelry because the pieces can hold two images inside the locket. Some of the most unique designs also have a personalized “page” inside where you can have a signature, message, or special drawing etched into the metal. What’s Their Sense of Style? Fine jewelry is a thoughtful gift, but you want to think about what your recipient likes before making a purchase. Does your loved one prefer solid yellow gold, rose gold, or sterling silver, or perhaps a mix of metals? Also, do they enjoy statement-making jewelry, or do they keep it simpler? Are they very family-oriented and sentimental? A mommy charm is a must-have for moms who put their families above all else! A handcrafted “mom” piece is something she’ll wear and treasure forever. By considering one’s aesthetics, you can design jewelry based on your insight of their taste and style. You can also work directly with a designer to craft the perfect piece of jewelry. Choose Artisan Crafted Pieces Handmade pieces by artisans often offer superior quality, which makes them a favorite with jewelry lovers. Since no piece is exactly alike, handmade jewelry is one of a kind—just like the person wearing it. Every piece is made with a high level of craftsmanship and careful attention to detail. Mass-produced jewelry doesn’t have the same individualistic aesthetic. With artisan-crafted jewelry, you also want it to be long-lasting heirloom quality so it can be passed onto the next generation. Capture Special Moments Talented artisans use their tools and skills to bring memories to life. For example, a special charm with a loved one’s favorite quote, artwork from a child, or a special symbol is a way to bring cherished words and thoughts to life. Symbols and meaningful messages present themselves throughout a person’s life. Capturing these sentiments through meaningful jewelry is a wonderful expression of love. About Heather B. Moore Heather B. Moore is a fine jewelry brand specializing in personal and sentimental pieces designed to last a lifetime. The artisan-crafted jewelry brings cherished words and memories to life.
