It's good to romanticize your life a little bit, sometimes. I'm far away enough from the trains to not be bothered by the sound, but can still occasionally hear the faint sounds of train horns and brakes, which feel eerily comfortable at night. The rooms in my apartment don't come with any light fixtures, so I have dimmable lamps with soft lighting wherever I am. Between a big work thing, family stuff, and a car accident, it's been a rough past week. But I can lay on the couch and look at the soft fairy lights on my ceiling and take a breath, and for a moment nothing's wrong - I'm just at peace.
