The Horsehead and Flame nebulae in Orion, captured in a HSO palette.

Shot at 440mm f/3 with a Newtonian telescope and a ZWO ASI533MM Pro camera.

Each channel made up of 24 5-minute exposures (24x300").

Stacked and processed in SiriL and GIMP. Support free software.

This probably is my most detailed picture of the nebulas surrounding Orion's Belt. I was specifically targeting the nebulae 'next' to Alnitak, but I didn't realize until I saw the result of tonight's shooting that the Great Orion Nebula is the brightest of them all. I know in which direction I'm making pictures next time.

i cant believe they wasted the two herrscher cores by just giving them to Kevin smh. SHE DESERVED THEM !!! She looks really good in blue / purple ... imagine,,, nebula tail, starry hair (she has one big ponytail parted in two) and many more... aaa she's too cute!!

Used a base for the general body pose but otherwise I changed pretty much everything (you wouldn't believe how indecisive i was kjkdhfgkdf lmao,,,) I tried to take inspiration from the in-game Rimestar Herrscher but I always thought felis would be more 'star' inclined... I think that'd be really cute <3 but I added some ice motifs in her outfit as well.

I swear I'm so normal about her. AHEM. anyway...

Maybe I will do a full body ref one day because this is too good to pass on^^

StARS Presentation

On Wednesday, April 24th, I presented at the Student Arts and Research Symphosium, or StARS for short, alongside my classmate, Cameron Williams. At the event, we presented our pictures of the Crab Nebula, comparing our edits against one another's. Alongside our Crab Nebula, we had pictures of the Flame Nebula, and Saturn, which I had edited, as well as Cameron's image of the Iris Nebula. Throughout our time presenting, we had multiple people approach our poster, asking questions about how we edited our images, as well as why we chose to colorize the images that we did. We received numerous questions regarding our class, as well as how long we worked on each image. We explained to people how long the images took to create and dove into the details of the steps we took, highlighting our use of the curves tool, and the levels tool. Cameron and I also explained how we aligned the several layers of each image, as well as explained the difference between each layer to the people who approached our poster. We touched on the three screen layers, and how each were either green, red, or blue, as well as the top layer, or the luminance layer. Presenting at StARS was a fun experience, allowing us to showcase our newly learned knowledge in image editing. It also allowed for us to see the differences in each other's posters, as well as other posters from presenters outside of our class. The presentation was a good and fun experience and allowed me to really discover how much I learned over the course of the semester.

So, how exactly do the Lions work in Quintenary Stars?

You mentioned that they’re the physical manifestations of the five colors of Quintessence, but they’re also very clearly machines that can be modified as shown when Pidge retrofitted Green with the invisibility tech from the labyrinth.

Do the mechanical shells simply house what you could call the “souls” of the Lion?

I haven't really figured out how the lions are mechanical while still Pure Quintessence yet (tbh maybe their mechanical bodies Were built but their Essence wasn't ?? idk. I'll have to think about that) BUT yeah <3 the lions' Essence or Core or Soul or whatever you wanna call it is the entity living inside the physical mechanical lion and bringing it to life. the lions have a metaphysical form that they appear in while inside the spiritual plane (that can only be reached by the paladins via meditation/close connection with lions) OR to the paladins in the physical world when their bond is strengthened enough. the lions' metaphysical forms can be visible to other people who aren't paladins, but it depends on the temperament of the lion herself whether or not she willingly Shows Herself to other ppl (black or red, for example, are much more reserved and won't appear in their metaphysical forms unless they're alone with their paladin/paladin's closest + most trusted family, but blue is much more outgoing and will show herself to just about anyone. the only requirement for the metaphysical forms to become a possibility is an extremely powerful lion/paladin bond). the lions can also physically fight alongside their paladins in their metaphysical forms but again, the bond has to be really tight

but yeah once the paladins develop their relationships with their lions enough, they'll eventually be able to literally pet and play with their lions <3
