UNCHAINED SANGUINEOUS HEARTMAKER {Guilty Gear}
Riding the high of a resounding Epiphany.
...Did I pull another "Desdinova" purely out of sheer A.B.A hopium? (I kept the lines sketchy, though, because I could not be arsed to try and mimic Strive's linework style again after the pain from last time ahjsdgajhsdgadk)
Yes. Yes I did.
So, those Season 3 character survey results, huh? The A.B.A hopium is real. I really do wonder what they'd do with her if she was brought to Strive, so I decided to try my hand at a "Strive-ified" A.B.A design.
Make sure to check under the cut for the "concept art" I made + their associated information.
So, design background info:
So, she's a... weirdo homunculus, right? An artificial human, created by a mad scientist she never met, so she was alone and never really learned how to... "people". That key in her head also keeps on reminding me of the bolts lodged in the sides of pop-culture-ified Adam's (Frankenstein's monster) head. She's also desperately trying to find a human(oid) body for the demon/magical foci Paracelsus/Flament Nagel, who she is deeply in love with. Artificially-created human, medical themes, artificial human form, deeply in love...
So what if she decided that, with her attempts at finding a body for him repeatedly failing (XX endings don't count, XX's canonicity is completely FUCKED lmao), why doesn't she just... create one herself instead?
In other words, the creation becomes the creator. Lil' bit of "Bride of Frankenstein" thrown in, if the guy making the bride (or in this case, groom) was the monster itself.
So, making her into a key-axe-wielding mad scientist homunculus.
I tried to make her pose reminiscent of a dance move, specifically a "dip".

GG ABA Strive fandesign sheet 01
The first drawing I got done of my design for A.B.A (featuring a base-shapes Paracelsus for scale). Featuring her color palette (F1 is base flesh, F2 is scarring, H is hair, B is bandages, C1 is primary coat color, C2 is secondary coat color, C3 is tertiary coat color, E is "edges", M1 is one of the metal colors, A is "accents", M2 is the second metal color, and the square below that is the eye colors), weird ragged patchwork "lab-coat", boot details, "branding", and some of the text on her design.
- The phrase printed along the front edge of her coat (and the heels of her boots) is "LOCK&SEE" (the "&" stylized to look like/replaced with a keyhole symbol), a spin on the phrase "Lock and Key", fitting with her obsession with keys and tendency towards twisting sayings/phrases into mondegreens. Also implies hiding something.
- The brand on the back of her coat is meant to look like the coffin shape on the back of Paracelsus's head during Moroha Mode, with the nose hole and right eye hole visible. Text above it reads "PARACELSUS" (with the P and R stylized to have curved horns in the back like MM Para), and the text underneath reads "FLAMENT NAGEL" (with similar "horn" stylization on the F).
- The scarring is damage from her not wearing proper protective gear during her experiments (because she doesn't seem like one to wear proper PPE lmao), much of it taking up most of the left side of her upper torso/arm (meant to mirror Strive Faust's stitching).
- She's both grimy and very... "DIY", so her stitching is very hodgepodge.
- The text along the stitching on the back of her coat reads "The More The Moodier.", a play on one of her mondegreen win-quotes in XX (against I-No: "People say "the more the gloomier", but she's just too much to take...") but with the same alliteration as "the more the merrier" which it was derived from.
- The brand on the right side of her shorts is the same as on her back, but without the "FLAMENT NAGEL" and with "PARACELSUS" underneath instead of above.
- The key markings (gloves, boots) all have the same key-blade shape as Paracelsus.
- I had some trouble figuring out some of her colors, as they differed between the sprites (blue metal, glove. and trim) and official artwork (dark brown metal + glove, blue trim), so I decided to have dark brown for the keys and dark blue for the studded trim and left glove.
- The laces of her boots and the buttons on her coat are meant to resemble Para's mouth stitches
- Made her head-key/neck keys have a little skull decoration similar to some of her XX art (it's very inconsistent).

The second "Strive-ified" A.B.A design sheet I made.
- Both of the large gloves look the same, with the red bands and Paracelsus-blade key markings.
- The dark blue left-hand glove is (mostly) the same. I like to think that it's her "woobie", what with her tendency to get attached to inanimate objects.
- The dark blue cropped tank-top is meant to only be visible in Moroha. The text reads "MOCK&KEY" (the "&" stylized to look like/replaced with a stylized keyhole symbol, the top part of the keyhole meant to look like a coffin), another spin on "Lock and Key" like the previously-mentioned "LOCK&SEE" compounded with her believing herself to be superior to humans. Moroha is what was locked-up.

- Noting specific design changes during Moroha. Coat opens + key "eyes" gain red glow.
- Design for her head + neck keys.
- Design for her bloodpacks. Text reads "FRASCO". Symbol underneath meant to look like a "flask" shape made out of an upside-down keyhole.

GG ABA Strive fandesign sheet 04 (Para)
The fourth sheet I made, featuring Paracelsus and his colors.
I honestly didn't change much lmao. His design is already weird by GG standards, mostly just tweaked some things.
- Made his eyes asymmetrical. Right has small iris and no pupil, left has beady pupil. Wanted to make him look "cartoony (western) neurotic/nervous" while hinting at his "main" glowy eye in Moroha being his right eye.
- I blurred/smudged the blood along the bottom edge to imply that A.B.A dragging him around wore away some of it.
- I added some spikes to his collar for a "punk" look, which glow red in Moroha.
- I kept his mouth stitches in Moroha. The mouth-corner stitches remain, while the middle stitches are tied around his left horn.

GG ABA Strive fandesign sheet 05
The final sheet I made, featuring mechanic ideas, "meta" stuff, and a design for repurposing an older move into a reversal super.
- Non-replenishable resources don't really fly in Strive, so I decided to make them replenishable through an alternate version of Bonding (a.k.a Keygrab). One Keygrab variant for Moroha, one Keygrab variant for a bloodpack. Starts off with no bloodpacks. Max three bloodpacks at a time. Functionality basically the same as XX.
- Turned Altercation (i.e. Enter Goku Moroha) into a Moroha-exclusive reversal super. Goku Moroha is not something that flies by modern fighting game characters, let alone Strive, so GM would definitely get axed. Still keeping Altercation as an absolute weirdo of a move, taking different resources depending on how much she has of each.
- Not sure what to actually do with Moroha's function/moveset, but having an "Install" state is the big thing that defines A.B.A's playstyle, so she'd probably keep at least base Moroha.
- Evidence: Concealment becomes a full reversal that only hits one hit as opposed to three, because most people cancel it after the first hit anyway lmao

Chapter 3 is completed. 
It has 61 pages, and with this we have enough for a whole volume. I’ve been drawing a large number of pages every month so that I could publish it as soon as possible during the broadcast of the anime. Thanks to this, the workload is not so different from that of a weekly serialization. The volume will be released around the beginning of the new year, so I think it's perfectly alright to wait patiently until then… If you're used to a weekly series, the time between writing and receiving reactions is long and painful, so if you have some extra pocket money, please read the Sunday S/2022 January issue, which will be released around the 25th of November. 
So far as it goes, until now we have the first episode of the early part (of the story), which should give you a general idea of the taste of this manga. The style is to rearrange and omit things to Shiina's taste, but to keep the entrance and exit of the story close to the original anime… If it suits your taste, please continue to enjoy it as a variation of "Hanyou no Yashahime" without fail, and if it doesn't suit you, please watch the anime.
I've been working like a demon since the final stage of Zettai Karen Children and, as expected, I'm missing my human life a bit. For that reason, I'm planning to reduce the number of pages a little starting from next month, and the volume of pages will be a little less than 50 pages every month. The (second season of the) anime has two cours… When it has finished airing, I'm expecting to boost sales by releasing the second volume at the time when viewers will be feeling a little sad because they won't be able to see the characters anymore. Regarding myself, I'm worried that after several years of working on copyrighted material, I'll forget who I am (laugh); I want to draw as much as possible in one go. However, when it comes to summarizing the main plot of the anime story, I can’t absolutely finish it in a year, even if I hurry. I was a bit aware of this when starting (the manga).
There was also another idea: to draw a modern line, like the (first) ending of the second anime season... like “Hanyou no Tenshi - Pretty Yashahime” (1). Something like ”'A youkai has appeared! Transform yourself, Towa, Setsuna, Moroha!". And when they get in trouble, a handsome man in a mysterious mask whose identity is unknown helps them out. It's called the “Sesshou Kamen” (2) (laugh). I'm going to talk to Takahashi Rumiko about that kind of extra story next time and see if she gets angry with me.

Moroha splashed the water around her, giggling and screaming in an almost deafening screech of joy from her fun in the hot spring. How it didn’t bother her sensitive dog ears, Inuyasha had no idea.
“Do you like that Moroha?” Kagome laughed, holding their six month old baby under her arms to keep her shoulders up above the water, while she was turning her face away to try and shield herself from the flying water their daughter was flinging everywhere. 
“Dadadadadadada!!” Moroha babbled, leaning forward away from Kagome as if she was about to just jump out of her mother’s hold, straight into the steaming water.
“No, it’s ‘Mama,’” Inuyasha tried to correct, offering his fingers for Moroha to take, which she did with a loud piercing squeal of excitement, trying to pull herself closer to him, away from Kagome.
“Dadadadadada!!!” Moroha said again in full giggles.
“It’s easier for her to say ‘Dada’ first,” Kagome explained, her face soft, loving, and beautiful. The way she looked at their daughter–the way she looked at him with her sparkling gray eyes made his heart race. 
Never before Kagome had entered his life, had he thought he would not only be accepted, but that acceptance included a family. Friends. A home. A village that actually enjoyed him being around–a village that actually blessed his marriage to a miko, and then brought gifts to celebrate the birth of their daughter.
It was a strange feeling–a strange life in comparison to what he had been living…
A dream really.
Sometimes he wondered if he had ever woken up from when Kikyo shot him.
Or if he died on Kagome’s lap the first night he shared his secret with her.
Or if he died from heartbreak from their separation.
But then moments like these, moments alone with his wife–Inuyasha knew he could imagine shit, but damn. Even on their worst days, he could never have imagined being as happy as he was with Kagome and their beautiful shihanyou baby girl. 
“You sure she don’t just like me better?” Inuyasha teased, taking Moroha from her, his initial smirk on his face spreading into a face splitting grin as their daughter cooed and kept up her jabbering as if she was telling him all about her long day of sleeping, eating, napping, and then eating some more.
“Mmmm, could be that too,” Kagome hummed, completely unaffected by his teasing as she moved to lean her head against his shoulder.
“I was just kiddin’, Kagome,” Inuyasha said gently, trying to comfort her even though he noticed she wasn’t phased in the slightest, but bringing their baby girl against his chest, splaying her hand against her belly to hold her up as she continued to play, he brought his other arm around his wife to have her in his embrace as well.
“Oh, I know,” Kagome replied, lifting her head so he could see the mischief in her eyes. “Unless your breasts make milk, I’m pretty sure we know exactly who her favorite person is at meal time.”
Inuyasha rolled his eyes, but leaned down to kiss his mate sweetly, earning him a very approving hum. “I’ll let you keep that skill.”
“Figures,” Kagome huffed, a smile still etched on her face as she turned her attention back to Moroha. “Should we wash your hair, baby?”
“Dadadadadada!!!” Moroha squealed happily, making Kagome laugh at her antics as she began to rinse her hair with water, cupping her hands to draw water into them and then dropping it over Moroha’s head. Their baby girl yipped and howled in laughter, shaking her hair and her fluffy ears to get some of the water off, and then began to pull to get into her mother’s hold again.
“Well, hold on now!” Inuyasha warned, trying to keep her still so Kagome could wash her up with the soaps and oils she’d made. “After she’s done, kiddo! Hold still,” Inuyasha pleaded as she chuckled from their wild child's struggles to claw her way back to Kagome. His wife wasn’t phased in the least, and kept washing her as if she could predict exactly where their daughter would flail her arms next.
After returning to the past, Kagome had really taken to studying with Kaede and Sango more about this world and finding her place within it,
Although, Inuyasha made it clear her place was by his side, just like his was by her.
It didn’t take them long to be married, but they’d waited a while before talking about kids. Inuyasha felt a little selfish, just wanting Kagome all to himself, soaking in her presence again after she had been ripped away from him for years… But his wonderful wife and mate wanted to wait, as well. 
Even after they did decide to try, Inuyasha found he was a little nervous about being a father–he was such a dick to Shippo, it was Kagome’s natural mothering skills that made up for his shittiness. Shippo didn’t really hold it against him as he had just joined a make-shift-forced-family when everyone was suffering with the hands they had been dealt. 
Kagome had reassured him every step of the way, comforting him about Shippo and making him realize he did well and that Shippo loved them as a son would his parents. And when they finally succeeded in trying, a baby finally growing in her body, Kagome talked him through her pregnancy, even when he was a nervous goddamn wreck. Shippo was also oddly very supportive, excited for the new pup to spoil and pass down some of his he’d gotten from Kagome, and someone to play with who hopefully wouldn’t pull on his tail.
The birth of their daughter was probably the worst out of everything; typically men weren’t present during that time, but he demanded to be, and thankfully, his wife was alright and more than happy with his presence, pleading him to be there for her even with Kaede’s disagreements. There was just so much blood, and Kagome had been so strong, but he could smell her pain and she was just so weak after.
But the happiness that radiated from his wife, and the wonder that filled him, the love that was instantaneous the moment his infant daughter was placed in his arms–the perfect blend of him and his wife–black hair like her mother, black dog ears, amber eyes like him, and then youki and reiki from the both of them. Her name came so naturally–Moroha. Double-edged. 
Inuyasha had vowed he would be there every step of the way for Kagome and Moroha: in the middle of the night when she cried and needed comfort, in the day when Kagome needed a moment to herself, during the evening so Kagome could cook dinner if she wanted a break, or even just emotional and physical support when she breast-fed their daughter, letting her lean back on him as he held them close and savored the moment as a family. 
“Come here, Moroha,” Kagome cooed, holding her hands out for their freshly cleaned and lathered baby. Inuyasha let her go once Kagome had their girl in her grasp and Moroha giggled, making Kagome laugh as well, her gray eyes sparkling with joy looking at their baby girl. “You love baths, don’t you?”
“Just like her mother,” Inuyasha chuckled, sinking down into the water a little further, keeping his arm draped around his girls, bringing them closer to him.
“I think you like baths more now that we bathe together.”
“Fuck yeah I do, I get to see my mate naked and dripping wet with water,” Inuyasha joked and half-expected a slap from Kagome but she merely sighed happily and rubbed her head against his chest as Moroha continued to splash in the water.
“I have to admit, visiting hot springs after we got married definitely got better. I actually already thought that was the best treat the Feudal era had to offer, but you proved me wrong, husband.” Her words lingered and he wanted to steal another taste of her lips, but Moroha’s incessant babbling made her turn her head downward to see what their daughter was trying to say and sighed, realizing it was dinner time and that it was time to go. “One day you’ll let us enjoy this a little longer–you’ll appreciate the water for allllllll that it is, right, Moroha?”
“Come on, let’s get you girls home,” Inuyasha said, lifting them from the water and then taking Moroha so Kagome could dress. Once she was clothed, she took Moroha and dressed her as Inuyasha threw on his hakama and kosode, leaving his haori off and draping it over his wife to cover her and their daughter, shielding them from the chill the evening brought. The hanyou lifted his family in his arms and carried them home, walking in a slower pace initially, letting Kagome feed their baby girl. Moroha finished her hunger off quickly, and then began to murmur tiredly. Inuyasha moved quicker, so he and Kagome could lay their daughter down and snuggle her to sleep and let sleep take them as well, so when Moroha woke in the middle of the night, Inuyasha could take the first watch and feed her with the soft foods she was starting to try, and then Kagome could take the second and let her feed from her breast.
Parenting was hard, tiring, but shit, it was the best fucking adventure Inuyasha had ever taken, and it was even fucking better with Kagome by his side, supporting him and their baby girl every step and misstep along the way.

Toonami Weekly Recap 10/15/2022
Housing Complex C EP#03 - The Wheel Comes Full Circle: Takashi helps briefly diffuse the housing residents and the interns, lamenting that the wheel came full circle and that watch groups would incite further mistrust as even Kanchan is sold out by his fellow interns to Rubel's disgust. Takashi realizes the strange events are tied to the lyrics of ancient song but reached a dead end until seeing Rubel off, discovering the actual Kurodo Shrine is located behind Housing Complex C and makes a horrific discovery. As the day passes on, Kimi, Yuri, and Kanchan realize Takashi is missing and try to look for him. Their search takes them to the storage cellar where they find Hideo's drawings ripped to pieces and a back chamber which Kimi enters, finding a pile of moss and a mural of fish people praying to the mountain god as Yuri attempts to decipher it before Kimi pleas her not to. The two take their leave, Kimi revealing the moss to be what remains of Takashi. Later returning to her apartment, Kimi questions the embryo that she calls her mother if everything will go full circle.
Yashahime: The Second Act EP#35 (11) - Battle on the New Moon, Part 2: A thoroughly powerless Towa finds herself at the mercy of Zero and Nanahoshi, who attempts to strengthen his extraordinary powers by feeding on her enduring sorrow and unpredictability by using an eternity bug on her, giving Zero a greater advantage. Setsuna, still human, trusts that Hisui and the other demon-slayers to take care of the snow demons who are after her. Meanwhile, Moroha continues to complete the job her parents began and restore Takechiyo to his rightful place in the Raccoon-Dog Clan as well as finally pay off her entire debt to Jyuubei the Corpse Dealer. Moroha declines it, saying she has spent her life of bounty-hunting..
Lupin the 3rd Part 6 EP#24 Finale - What Crooks Love: Lupin and Mattea's fight is broken up by Jigen, Goemon, and Fujiko's arrival. The three demand proof that Tomoe is really Lupin's mother, so she reveals the box is located in the original safe. Lupin then reveals that he's been free of her brainwashing for a while, thanks to his strong memories and bond with his crew bringing him back to his senses, and had come up with the plan to get her to reveal the box's location right after getting shot. He figures out the box, rather than containing proof of Tomoe's parentage, contains information regarding his true roots. Tomoe laughs manically, stating that she will continue to use more women and methods to get Lupin to become hers, causing Mattea to snap and try to kill her, only for Lupin to shoot her first. As Tomoe lays dying, Mattea becomes further enraged due to Tomoe taking her life from her, and still intending to fight Lupin, which he agrees to. During their fight, Zenigata arrives, revealing Arianna has just regained consciousness, and after Lupin tells Mattea to decide by her own standards how she'll be a crook, she agrees and is arrested. Lupin and the crew break into the safe to receive the box, only to barely survive one last death trap from Tomoe. He realizes the box was on her the entire time, and after reclaiming it and burning down the house, he throws it into the fire, deciding that his present with everyone is more important than learning his roots. Later, Mercedes breaks out of prison, no longer caring about surpassing Lupin, and Zenigata resumes his chase with Lupin and his crew.

The Beast King’s Daughter
“Hanyō no Yashahime” depicts the battle of three princesses who carry the blood of a demon king. In ‘The Second Chapter’ which broadcasts in October, the one who holds the key to the story is another princess who makes a new appearance.
With overwhelming strength, Sesshōmaru and Inuyasha’s father, the Dog General, was known as “The Beast King of the Western Lands”. The three (girls) Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha inherited the said beast king’s blood.
Despite being inexperienced, Towa and the others have constantly grown in battle. In episode 24 of ‘The First Chapter’, an evenly matched battle unfolds between Towa and Moroha, enraged by Setsuna’s death, and “The Beast King of the Eastern Lands”, Kirinmaru, who is equal to the Dog General. Though Kirinmaru was injured, he successfully landed a single stroke.
Starting from ‘The Second Chapter’, another daughter of a beast king appears before Towa and the others. Her name is Rion. Surprisingly, it is said that Kirinmaru also had a daughter. Rion is an existence who for 600 years has been sealed in Mt. Musubi, which is said to be where the Dream Butterfly is. Exactly who sealed her and for what purpose? Just like Towa and the others, within her is likely an inherited strength of a beast king but her powers are unknown.
There are still many mysteries surrounding Kirinmaru’s daughter, Rion. While it is not yet known whether she is an enemy or an ally to Towa and the others, if she is willing to lend her strength, she will likely become a reliable existence to them as they shoulder many difficulties.
Character Bios
Rion Kirinmaru’s daughter who has been sealed within the barrier of Mt. Musubi for 600 years. It seems her meeting with Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha will move destiny but… …?
The Dream Butterfly The butterfly of the dream world. A spirit. It is said that when they appear in the real world, they devour people’s dreams and those who have been devoured become unable to sleep or dream entirely.
Higurashi Towa Sesshōmaru and Rin’s daughter. She fights with Kikujyūmonji, a demon sword with a blade created from demonic power. The attack she unleashed when she became enraged from Setsuna’s death took on the shape of two blue dragons.
Setsuna Sesshōmaru and Rin’s daughter. In episode 24 of ‘The First Chapter’, despite wounding Kirinmaru during their battle, the tables turned on her and she lost her life.
Moroha Inuyasha and Kagome’s daughter. When she puts on rouge, she goes on a rampage that ends quickly but when Setsuna lost her life, she managed to fight without losing her composure.
Kirinmaru The Beast King of the Eastern Lands. It appears he spares some leeway with the Yashahimes such as naming Towa’s technique ‘Twin-Headed Azure Dragon Wave’, but?
The Parent Needs to Pull It Together More!
Kirinmaru has considerably complicated child rearing. In contrast to that, Rion is a girl with a straightforward upbringing. I can’t say the specifics yet but when I see parent and child, as a father of a daughter in her 10s myself, I think “The parent has to pull it together more” and I also get a sense of “I guess even if the parent complicates things, kids will grow up on their own.” By the way, Fujita Saki plays the role of Rion. She also took on the role of the mean heroine in my previous work “Fairy Ranmaru~ Anata no Kokoro Otasuke Shimasu~”. Just when I thought I finally defeated her in “F Ran” (Shortened name of said previous work), I meet her again in “Hanyō no Yashahime”… … I felt a mysterious fate (laughs).

I Felt Destiny from the Lives of Towa and Co. Director Hishida Masakazu 
Synchronizing With His Own Life?! Empathy Towards Towa’s Situation
— In the previous issue’s interview, Director Hishida, you said that you felt that “it was fate that I should accept” the offer for this current work which was memorable.
Hishida: I worked at Sunrise’s Studio #1 for a long time, but I started to do work for Tatsunoko Production in 2008. From there, I mostly worked at Tatsunoko but now Sunrise has called me back for the first time in 13 years. Just as I’m wondering what sort of work it’s going to be, they tell me it’s a work that carries on the world of “Inuyasha”, (the work) that taught me the foundation of production. Not to mention, the protagonist, Towa, is a girl who was flung from the feudal world where she was born and raised, to the modern era, and then returns to the feudal (era) again after 10 years. I felt Towa’s situation synchronized with mine and all I could think was that this was fate.
I’m about the same age as the director of ‘The First Chapter’, Teruo-san (Director Satō Teruo), and our careers are just about the same too. Teruo-san worked at Studio 1 for the longest time while I on the other hand, got thrown outside and came back… … I thought that aspect felt similar to Towa and Setsuna’s life (laughs). That’s why watching Towa and Setsuna’s relationship in “The First Chapter” was very tough. Like, they were such close sisters so why doesn’t she remember… …
— To change it to your position Director Hishida, it’s like “You returned to Sunrise for the first time in a while but the people you used to get along with have forgotten about you” kind of a situation.
Hishida: It’s exactly that! The current staff of Sunrise’s Studio 1 don’t know me, and they don’t thank me (laughs). You see, I was the one who revived the steppingstone for the “becoming a producer by being a production assistant” route that came to an end at Studio 1! There weren’t many before me but afterwards, there were a lot of people that took that route and flew the nest like Fujita Yōichi-kun, Watada Shinya-kun, and Kyōgoku Takahiko-kun! No one is really grateful so Fujita-kun and Kyōgoku-kun would always say to me “I should’ve crushed you back then!” (laughs). As I watched Setsuna not remembering Towa, I ended up remembering that.
— You seem to have an unusual attachment to Towa and Setsuna’s relationship (laughs). Well then, what sort of impression do you have of Moroha and Sesshōmaru?
Hishida: Moroha has a brilliance to her. It’s amusing that she inherited Inuyasha’s mischievous side, and she’s got a similar silhouette to Inuyasha as well, so I feel that she is a real eye-catching character. When Towa and Setsuna take center, the story becomes heavy no matter what, so it’s fun to watch Moroha soften the place up.
Then, regarding Sesshōmaru in this current work, I felt “He’s a father”. I bet in his own way, as a father, he wonders how to interact with his daughters. Even while carrying out a strict “trial of courage and cowardice”, he still concerns himself with his daughters which I feel is a little human like. I’m also a father of two girls so I can relate to him somewhat. In the last (scene) of “The First Chapter”, he purposefully hands over a broken Tenseiga to Towa but he wouldn’t do that if he didn’t care about them. He just gives a pass like “Do something about it with this” and I think that is also (a form of) training in a sense.
Also, drawing wise, the pattern of Sesshōmaru’s kimono is still brutal (laughs). “Inuyasha” was an analog cel anime back then so (drawing) that pattern was even more difficult. At the time, the suggestion “Let’s omit the pattern on Sesshōmaru’s kimono” was made but Director Ikeda Masashi opposed it. I didn’t understand why Director Ikeda was so fixated on that pattern back then but thinking about it now, I think it was the right call. Since it could be said that Sesshōmaru’s existence is one of two wheels in the work that is “Inuyasha”, he probably didn’t want to make him plain wherever possible.
The First Attempt At ‘The Second Chapter’ Storyboard Was Like A “Trial of Courage and Cowardice”
— Next, please tell us about Kirinmaru’s side. In ‘The First Chapter’, many of their actions were puzzling so by all means, any hints to their activity in ‘The Second Chapter’!
Hishida: At first, I couldn’t quite understand Kirinmaru, but once I heard he was a father with a daughter, I understood. While he is a person who’s thinking “I want to surpass the Dog General”, his feelings of admiration towards that man and wanting to show his strong side to his daughter are feelings that I completely understand now. Kirinmaru has had many mysterious aspects up until this point, but I’d like to depict his emotions in ‘The Second Chapter’.
Just like her younger brother, Kirinmaru, Zero has also become obsessed with the Dog General. In any case, she lives on her “love”. Zero’s womanly heart is a little complicated, but I also feel that seeing her persist with her earnest feelings for the Dog General is cool.
Also, I think the parts of Riku, who’s neutral towards Towa and the others, that were difficult to see up to this point will become clear in ‘The Second Chapter’. How he feels about Towa will be brought to the forefront, so I told Fukuyama Jun-kun who plays him, “In ‘The Second Chapter’ please go with a slightly handsome boy feeling route” (laughs). By the way, Fukuyama-kun was the one who played the main character in my director debut work “Onmyō Taisenki”. The name of the role (character) was ‘Riku’. ‘The Second Chapter’ is a story about the ‘fate’ that connects people together, and I also felt a mysterious fate from that.
— What did you think of production for episode 25 (episode 1 of ‘The Second Chapter’) which continues from the shocking last scene of Setsuna’s death in ‘The First Chapter’?
Hishida: It was such shocking last scene that I was overcome with the feeling of “Why are you passing the baton to me at such a difficult spot!?”! I truly thought this was a ‘trial of courage and cowardice’ (laughs). I did the storyboard for episode 25 myself, but coming into the work midway, it took me some time to understand the story, so I really struggled. Until now, the record holder for storyboard that took me the longest was episode 13 of “Gundam Reconguista in G” with 2 months. However, this time, it took me 3 months.
— To say that it easily overtook that “G Recon” (shortened form of “Gundam Reconguista in G”) that you struggled so much with (laughs).
Hishida: Yes. My worst record was brilliantly made new! However, on the reverse side, I thought with ‘The First Chapter’ ending like this, there’s no doubt you’d want to see the continuation. In that sense, they passed the baton in the best way so I should meet up to that (expectation). It was tough but I put my all into it!
— ‘The Second Chapter’ is loaded with things to be curious about aside from what will happen to Setsuna like Rin who’s sleeping within the Tree of Ages and Inuyasha and Kagome who’ve been trapped within the black pearl.
Hishida: I can’t talk in detail about that yet but I will say “There’s no way it would end like this!”. I would certainly like for everyone to look forward to October.

Happy new year to all my wonderful comrades and people who have newly followed this blog! May you all stay safe and healthy. I wish you many best wishes and hope you all make the best out of 2022 if 2021 wasn't your best... I know how that feels because my big brother was killed on June 1st 2021... That day still feels like a living nightmare... my family and I wish so much to find big brother's killer but no luck so far but we're not throwing in the towel... We're kinda getting a hunch on who really done it but we don't want to falsely point fingers so we're being careful with this until further notice.
Also for this new year I want to do better with this blog and my other social medias and bring lots of Sessrin content but not just edits, icons, frames, gifs, I want to get back to drawing my art again, I got everything I need to get back to work it's just been hard since we lost big bro but he wouldn't be pleased if I stopped drawing completely, he and the family always supported me so I'm gonna give it my all this year with artwork. I left the Dust An Elysian Tail fandom for good, it's too much pain to return to that comic book project but I just want to move on with Sessrin and Yashahime.
I'm practicing very hard to get back to it all so I can bring artwork and comics content like I've promised. There's lots of themes I plan to bring like, character clothes designs, accessories, foods, drinks, lots of comics, crossovers and my project Passion Moon Lady Rin's Lingerie Line. (But nothing 18+ I'm far too shy to draw that stuff so I make low key stuff.)
It's a project where I'll make lingerie designs exclusively for Rin and once the designs are uploaded, I'll give Sessrin Fan Artist and Fan Fics Writers the permits to use them in their drawings, comics or stories as long if they want to and ask for my permission.♡️ Hopefully I'll be starting off this month or next month with the first design and next time I'll explain about Themes once I make the logos.

I'm still hyped for more Yashahime and finally we're getting Episode 38 and yes, Sesshomaru looks really bad in that clip but I don't think any of us has to worry, it's poor writing and a bad decision to kill Sesshomaru, especially that he reunited with his wife Rin and soon their daughters, plus Inukag and niece. So, we got nothing to worry about, Sesshomaru will be okay, he's always been a demon dog and he always finds a way to get back to his feet. By him sealing the girls in the pearl, I think that was his way of protecting his daughters and niece, and also to go free Inukag, so I'm excited for this episode and still crying over Episode 37, all so beautiful. ( ˃̣̣̥ω˂̣̣̥ ) Sesshomaru holding his wife, Setsuna remembering Towa and hugging each other and Sesshomaru giving Moroha the black pearl with her parents in it. (It's like Sesshomaru is SantaMaru, he gave his niece a present! ♡️)

First off thank you for pointing out that rin looks a lot like moroha. Moroha looks more like a relative to rin then the twins. Also i don’t buy that “petite women” bull shippers are trying to pull. As many antis have said before kagome and Kikyo are known as petite women in inuyasha yet they still have a mature build. Sunrise designed rin twice to look mature and that it. She literally looks like a child. For a hot second I thought it was just the animators not being able to design her properly due to time but no they are deliberately making rin look young. The first clue should have been when the old director telling rin VA to keep child rin in mind. And now they had rin in last week episode taking care of sesshomaru which was possibly a call back to child rin taking care of sesshomaru in the OG anime. There was no such thing as adult rin. The creator of yashamine had no intentions of making rin an adult because he like many sessrin fans ship a child with an adult.
She does! Kagome, Moroha and Rin look related, not the twins. Twins look related to Sesshomaru but look nothing like Rin.
You just reminded me how Kikyo was older than Kagome and it showed in their character design. The characters are designed to appear in a certain way. That is deliberate!
If Rin is supposed to be older, she needs to look older. And by older I don't mean just stretching her a bit.
If you show this pic to someone outside of this fandom and ask them who is the youngest, watch them point to Rin.

You are right about the old director telling Noto to keep child Rin in mind. We see her talking in third person in the scene where she had supposedly given birth. Even in the recent scene where Sesshomaru had passed out but Rin appeared care free, was humming and taking care of Sesshomaru. She doesn't appear mature at all.
It's not like Yashahime team can't draw/direct kids that grew into an adult. Just look at Sota and Kohaku. Even Shippo for that matter. Not that Shippo grew up but in one scene he had to take up appearance of an old demon. Shippo was seen "filling in" as an instructor, who was a husband of a fox demoness and was seen teaching kids to be "unbridled" and "free-spirited".

I have seen so many shippers say that they only ship "adult" Rin, but the moment official handle tweets a pic of OG child Rin and Sesshomaru, their true colors show up.

NOT BY SHIPPERS AND ALSO NOT BY ANTIS NO ONE SHOULD BE HAPPY THAT THIS DRAWING EXSISTS!
Every single person in the fandom should be pissed beyond words that this trash picture EXSISTS!
Why? BECAUSE IT'S A SLAP IN THE FACE TO EVERY SINGLE INUYASHA/YASHAHIME FAN IN THE WORLD!
First!: it's a big Fuck you from Rumiko herself. Because she is clearly making a drawing to be as intentionally veauge and manipulative on purpose. So that the battle between the fans continues and that keeps Yashahime relevant! That keeps getting it publicity. Then people who are brand new to the franchise begins watching this shit excuse of a "Sequel" believe this is what Inuyasha is all about! It taints the orginal series! Those who like it and not understand how wrong and bad it is, thanks to never having seen the orginal. Will start buying merch meaning, money in not only sunrise but her own pockets! Then those who don't like it will hear of the orginal and thanks to this piece of trash being thier Introduction into the series will automatically think the original is trash as well and not even bother giving it a try. Missing out on a truely wonderful series!
2nd!: It shows that Rumiko dose not give a flying rats ass about how her fans feel or gives a care about the franchise it's self! Because she is she continuing no encouraging the fighting between sides with this. I mean come on! Why kind of creator dose that to thier fanbase? That Kemono that Rin is wearing is clearly meant to be seen as a nod to Kagura. True it's missing the circles so it's not an exsact match. But the coloring and lay out of the kimono is supposed to be similar enough that you will get a Kagura message.How you Interpret that message is up to you. But we should all be completely 💯% in agreement that even if it's not kaguras exsact clothing it's close enough for us all to know what it's supposed to represent. Kagura. Whether it's a slap in the face to sessrinners and "making a statement that she's against sessrin" or a back hand to Antis by saying "I support sessrin and now here's Rin Cosplaying" It dosen't matter it's obvious that it's meant as a Kagura statement in some way!
WTF Rumiko!? What kind of sick SOB are you? That you would draw something so blantinly Fan Hate?
Not only is it fan hate but really bad Fan Hate look at how aweful that was drawn. We all know that Rumiko can draw way better and this clearly shows that she was only half assing it to churn out something acceptable. She didn't put any thought into this, she didn't put any effort into it. (( Asside from the blatant middle finger that is Ringura/Ragura))
3rd!: As a Rin stan I am fuming. Why!? Why dose Rin have to wear that!? Why can't she have something of her own?something that doesn't scream I'm A LITTLE GIRL! Or something that doesn't smack you in the face with KAGURA!! Something that makes her a person, a valued chara? A kemono that is new and seas Adult Rin. With whole new patterns/color palette. Something that when we fans see it we think, "Oh That's Rins' new Adult clothing." Something unique only to her that couldn't be mistaken for anyone else's or traced back to when she was a child. Why can't Rin be Rin!? Why dose she have to be, The New Kagura?! Why dose she have to be a plot device?! Why dose she have to be a Statement!? Why can't she just be a character!? Everyone else gets to be characters. Even the Wounder twins. Even that stupid pin wheel of time carrying mofo gets to have more personality. Flashbacks! Like Morohas' shitty mentor gets more thought and love put into them than Rin dose! STOP SHITTING ON RIN!
In conclusion..
This is getting praise!? This is getting love!? We all should be more pissed off than sesshomaru was when Mōryōmaru mocked Kaguras death.
THIS IS FAN HATE! ITS FUEL TO INTENTIONALLY STOKE THE FIRES OF WAR BETWEEN US AND DIVIDE US FURTHER! AND BRING THEM MORE REVENUE! RUMIKO DOSEN'T CARE!
And that, is the true purpose of this drawing. Nothing more nothing less...and that is not something to celebrate.
I will be here in the corner morning what has become of Rin and this fanbase at the hands of these monsters.

About the Writing Process and Thoughts on Yashahime

Question: How do you think up and decide the character names?
Takahashi: Since I don't change a character's name once it's been decided on, this is something I worry the most about. Even when I temporarily name them when they appear, if the name doesn't fit, then I would think of their name just in the nick of time. All I can really say is "The name fits the character" ...Names that are easy to say, easy to write, and easy to remember. Names that fit the story. For example, the meaning of Kikyo's name in flower language is "unchanging love/everlasting love," Kagome feels like a cute, nursery rhyme-like name, and etc. I feel like Sesshomaru had a different name at first, but I forgot what it was. Though I do remember that the design of his outfit and items were decided upon after his name was decided.

Question: I would like to know if there were any scenes or moments throughout the story of "Inuyasha" that changed during the creation process from what you had originally had in mind before the serialization.
Takahashi: At the start, all I really had was something like: Inuyasha was sealed by Kikyo by mistake and the sword he carried was a keepsake of his father, after that I thought of [the story] as I was creating it each week. So, Naraku came after, Shippo, Miroku, Sango too, the first time they appeared was the first time I thought of them. Though I did think about the possibility of Sesshomaru eventually protecting a human and dying, he was just too good [of a character] and I couldn't kill him off. The creation of the enemy character, Naraku, set the direction of the story. I have an ad-lib style, so deciding too far ahead would have taken away the surprise while I was drawing [the story]. I enjoyed thinking "what will I do, what will happen now" each week.

Takahashi: For me, "Inuyasha" was completed, so when I heard about it I felt like "You're doing what?", but the series composition is by Sumisawa-san, who worked on the "Inuyasha" anime, and I have no doubt that he's a very talented and capable person, so I think I can leave [the series] to him.

Question: Is there anything in "Hanyou no Yashahime" that would like the readers to see and focus on?
Takahashi: Sunrise has beautiful illustrations and animation, and the story is interesting too. What's going on with the parents is touched on from time to time, and I think Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha are all charming. I think they've made a piece of work that can be enjoyed by both those who are watching [the Inuyasha franchise] for the first time and by those who watched "Inuyasha." Also, the music is being done by Wada Kaoru-san, who also did the music in "Inuyasha." I'm really looking forward to that.

This goes with my fic Forever Changed, but I wanted to post it separately as well. 
This is actually my first time experimenting with digital drawing, so I used tons of references which is why it looks so similar to the anime style. Maybe eventually I will figure out my own style. I used to draw traditionally but it’s been a long time. My full time job now is literally to just use Photoshop all day, so it felt really natural to use it for drawing. 
Maybe once I have the time I’ll do one of Kagome holding baby Moroha as well. Hopefully I won’t have to adjust too much once we see what she actually looks like in Yashahime!

Rumiko Takahashi answers fan-submitted questions for the "Yashahime Blu-Ray and DVD volume 1 limited event" which took place at 8:00pm on April 26, 2021.
Q1: When you first heard “Inuyasha and Sesshomaru’s daughters” what did you think?   Rumiko Takahashi: I recall that at the scripting stage the thought was for Sesshomaru to have twin daughters and Inuyasha to have a son. It took quite awhile but eventually the idea became for all three to be girls. Furthermore the characters personalities were discussed for quite some time. So when you say “first heard” it didn’t flow like that.
Q2: What was the design process for the three princesses? Rumiko Takahashi: I answered a similar question in talking about the sequence of events but at the time of the design stage their personalities had already been established. On the other hand if a character’s personality has not been decided their appearance cannot be done afterwards.
Q3: Regarding Towa, Setsuna and Moroha, what points do you think they have in common with their parents? Rumiko Takahashi: Setsuna reflects the cool feeling of Sesshomaru while Moroha reflects the heated nature of Inuyasha. Towa was raised in modern times so her personality is a little complicated. Each parent contributed something towards their appearance.
Q4: Can you talk about the number one thing in terms of the visuals and personality of each of the characters? Rumiko Takahashi: Moroha’s design came without any hesitation. With Setsuna the charming aspect was the fur. I like Towa because she was the most difficult personality-wise, so I was glad to give her a boyish appearance to differentiate her from the other girls. Since I was working in a design capacity, I am attached to all three of their looks. Q5: Are there any characters that you think are particularly like you or that you have an affinity for? Rumiko Takahashi: There are almost no characters that look like me, but I have an attachment to each one of them. Inuyasha is a character that I never got tired of drawing every week, and Sesshomaru is the first non-blurred character in the series, so I was happy to draw him. “Yashahime” has a screenplay and voice actors that are developing the characters and I look forward to seeing. Please look forward to “Chapter 2”.

It was painful. Seeing your child all grown up and fighting in such a cruel world. It was painful standing before her daughter and seeing her as a teenager when it felt like only yesterday that she'd been nothing more than a small newborn. Kagome could only stare unable to say anything due to the shock and pain she was feeling. Inuyasha stood behind seemingly just as lost as she was. The two couldn't process what they were seeing. Couldn't process that this brave cocky girl who came into Toga's grave to save her friend from death, was their tiny Moroha.
'It wasn't supposed to be years.'
Kagome was frozen, as reality slowly started to kick in. As it slowly started to process that she had missed fourteen years of her daughter's life.
'He promised that it wouldn't be for a long time.'
As Kagome stood paralyzed, Moroha had finally taken notice of her and Inuyasha. The teen froze instantly alert and on guard. She stood protective in front of Towa and Setsuna, drawing the twin's attention.
"Moroha what's wrong......?"
Towa began to ask only to trail off as she herself finally saw the two adults. Setsuna caught sight of them as well and instantly reached for her weapon, ready to strike if necessary. Moroha stood completely still, her fingers itching to grab her bow and one of her arrows. The land of the dead was not a nice place. Myoga had warned her of this, and seeing two people standing in front of her put her on edge. Yet despite the want to shoot at them to get them away from Towa and Setsuna, the bounty hunter couldn't help but stare. There was something eerily......familiar about these people. Narrowing her dark brown eyes, Moroha studied them. First her gaze landed on the tall half demon.
The half demon was stock still, barely moving as if he was afraid he'd scare them off. Cautious as well from what Moroha could pick up. He must of sensed her unease. The young teen took in his features, taking note of his clothes. He had a robe just like hers. The Robe of the Fire Rat, one of the rarest items among demons. By his side was a sword and sheath. His hands were clawed and he had long silver hair and dog ears. His eyes were sharp and golden and solely focused on her. His eyes were unreadable despite being so focused on her.
'Perhaps trying to size me up? Well he'll be sorry if he tries anything.'
The hunter thought before turning her gaze towards his mate. It was a woman, a priestess Moroha realized. The priestess was beautiful, with long wavy black hair and warm dark brown eyes. She had no weapons on her and unlike the half demon she didn't seem alert. More like she was in shock. Moroha's gaze suddenly caught the woman's and she felt her heart squeeze painfully. Her eyes.......they held so much sorrow and pain. It was like she had been nothing but grief stricken for years. Moroha was so startled by the honest emotion in this woman's gaze she barely contained her jump from being startled as Setsuna placed a protective hand on Moroha's shoulder. The demon slayer's eyes were hard and narrowed, daring the pair to come any closer to them.
"We need to leave Moroha. Hisui and the others are waiting for us. We can't stay here."
Setsuna said keeping a close eye on the two. Towa had come up from behind them, her own eyes focused and puzzled as she stared at the pair. Moroha gave a small, slow nod and went to move and continue on their journey back to the land of the living. It was at that moment that the priestess seemed to snap out of it and with a panicked look stumbled forward, grabbing Moroha's arm.
"N-no-! Please don't leave-! We just got you back Moroha-!"
The priestess said sounding absolutely devastated at the thought of Moroha leaving. Setsuna went to grab Moroha away from the woman when the half demon moved and stood protectively in front of the duo. His eyes dark and threatening. Moroha stiffened when she heard the woman say her name.
"How do you know my name....?!? Wait who are you two anyway??"
Moroha asked eyes narrowing with unease. She was conflicted and confused. This woman, her touch felt so familiar. It made Moroha feel safe. The half demon standing protectively in front of them also felt familiar and safe to the teen. It made Moroha feel weird.
"Moroha.....do you not recognize us?"
The half demon spoke this time. His voice gruff yet filled with hurt, as if the very thought of her not knowing them killed him inside. The priestess let out a small, choked noise her eyes glistening with tears as the pain seemed to grow within them.
"You really don't.....oh Moroha.....! I'm so sorry.....!"
The woman suddenly sobbed and before Moroha could even process it she was suddenly held against the woman tightly. Her arms wrapped around her and cradled her head as she weeped, apologizing over and over again. The man was quick to join placing a hand on her back and rubbing it, while he wrapped the other around his wife. Moroha just sat there stunned by the sudden affection. Towa and Setsuna stood by, not knowing whether they should intervene or not. The girls had not expected to run into something like this. To run into people who were obviously grieving. To run into people who apparently knew Moroha.
The young girl stayed in the woman's arms confused yet oddly enough feeling like she'd had been needing this for her entire life. She had no clue what was going on but she wasn't cruel enough to pull away from these grieving parents. So she let them hold her and apologize to her, remaining quiet the entire time. Moroha would of course ask questions once these two calmed down but for the moment she let them have this.
