The Favor Tree. Not something uniquely Vaugardian, mind you. Plenty of powerful trees are strewn about Ka Bue as well, but this one *is* Vaugardian, and so you'd like to wish on one at least once, for completion's sake.

What to wish for, though? You can wish for Vaugarde to be saved, of course. But, in all likelihood, everyone in Dormont already has, so what will your wish even accomplish, then? The logical part of you wants to make it a test. Something simple to see whether these wishes have any merit to them.

If they don't, you'll save Vaugarde by your own strength. If they do, a little help goes a long way.

Right, something simple it shall be. A coin flip. You'll wish to win your next coin flip.

You clasp your hands together like Mirabelle does, close your eyes, and

"That's not how you wish, Madam!"

"...Siffrin?"

With quick strides, Siffrin catches up to her. Hadn't they meant to go later? Oh, in her dwadling, Isabeau already left.

Siffrin smiles with curiosity next to you, and you untangle your hands. "What'd you wish for?" they ask.

"Nothing yet. After someone so rudely interrupted me." You say it with a sarcastic tilt.

Siffrin mirrors you after a beat. He looks around. "So rude! We gotta find the culprit! Oh, maybe they're hiding up in the tree. It's pretty..."

You know what's coming.

"TREE-mendous, after all!"

Despite yourself, you snort.

"So, my brave hero, if that's not how you wish, how do you do it then?"

"Uh!" Siffrin startles. "Uh!" He bends to the ground and picks up... a leaf?

"Here!" They hold the leaf out to you. You try to grab it, but they snatch it back. "No! First, pick the leaf you like best. That best represents you."

You don't know anything about Siffrin's past. Or where they're from, at all. So if he's sharing this piece of tradition... it won't hurt to humor him.

Your knees seriously don't like bending down like that. Instead of grabbing the first leaf you see, you ponder them for a little bit. Eventually, you decide on one that's a little longer than the others, with an odd bend in its tip.

"This one." You push yourself off the ground. It is. A struggle. Siffrin offers you a hand. You take it without aknowledgement. "What next?"

Siffrin puts a hand on his chin and squints, as he does when forgetting something. What, did they forget in the middle of showing her?

No, Siffrin proceeds by instinct. They bring the leaf up to their mouth and whisper far too softly for Odile's aging ears. Then, he folds the leaf and lets it go.

It drifts on the wind, higher and higher, until it disappears into the trees.

"There. Whisper your wish into it three times, fold it, and let it go."

"I've never seen a Vaugardian do that."

Siffrin seems lost. "It's not... It's..."

You drop the subject. "Why thrice?"

"That's just... the way to do it? You can also do six and nine, I think, and seven and thirteen."

"Multiples of three and prime numbers?"

"Prime numbers?"

"Forget it. Alright."

You hold the leaf to your face, curling it to speak into. A simple, logical wish, to test the Favor Tree. That'd seems rude now, after Siffrin shared part of his culture with you.

Something better. Something... genuine. And that's the hard part, isn't it? You have a reputation to uphold. It's easier that way. Like... like you don't care how much Siffrin's eye sparkles right now, waiting with bated breath.

It'll be easier to leave them again. Bonnie will go to their sister, Isabeau to the Defenders, Mirabelle to the House, and Siffrin...

Siffrin is a traveler too, is he not? Maybe the others won't go with you, but you could show them Ka Bue. Teach them how to pray at shrines, about all the different foods you ache for, all the culture you left to find something new. Despite it all, Ka Bue was your home, and... you'd like to share it with them, if you can.

You pat them on the shoulder. Siffrin freezes. Until your hand leaves them again.

Hey 👋🏾💜 Thank you for the kind words. Y’all need to stop gassing me up. My dad jokes/ corniness will know no end lol.

With my Twitter page, sometimes I question whether or not people think I’m stealing work from this Tumblr page bc both my pfp and handles are not the same 🥲 I made my twt before I made this side blog so the handle and pic was a quick “slap together” choice. The phrase “be f*cking for real” is too funny to me so I just ran with it. And then my brain was completely uncreative and was like “namor-shuri” will do rofl. Hopefully people understand by now that I’m the same person, but alas.

To answer your question, I think it’s broken up into two parts. One chunk of it is that I rant A LOT so this platform makes it easier for me to do so while also being creative with color fonts and all that jazz. I also just love the freedom of layouts and stuff like that. From a creative perspective, of course it doesn’t help that Tumblr messes with quality but what I lose in quality, I gain in possibilities [I swear I don’t work for Tumblr and this is not me promoting them rofl].

The other half of the pie is the stark difference of engagement on Twitter vs Tumblr, in my personal experience thus far. Like I said, I made my Twitter first back in late December of last year. It was kind of a random decision but once I realized I was super into the Namor x Shuri ship, I wanted to engage with the fandom more directly and pour into it. Since then, I’ve been able to have a lot of fun with making different artworks, edits, videos, playlists, you name it! Ya girl has been BUSY to say the least lol And what’s been dope is that this fandom has been a fun outlet outside of my professional artwork and stuff like that. All that being said, what slowly became apparent to me was that I wasn’t feeling as included or apart of the fandom as I initially hoped I would. I would try and engage with people or joke here and there and most of what I would get back was crickets, whether it would be on my own posts or my commentary on others. And to be fair, I know it takes time for people to get to know you and build community but it just felt slightly strange. Especially when I would see new pages pop up and everyone would immediately flock to engage with them. I say this to say that absolutely NO ONE owes you anything in life so to be upset that someone isn’t your friend [whether it’s in person or online] is a human experience but you have to understand that not everyone is going to jell with you. There are billions [billions? *does quick google search] of people on this planet. Someone is bound to hate you, while another will worship the floor you walk on. Someone’s going to think you’re okay, while you being your raw and authentic self makes another person’s day. It’s nothing personal. It’s simply a numbers game. So inherently I understood that but it still hurt the 3 year old in me that was just trying to make friends at the playground, you know? lmao But I think what set it off was when I would look up and then see my edits used for people’s banners, fan art, post ideas, etc without asking me or giving me any credit knowing that they also aren’t following me or even engaging with me in any way. It still wasn’t cool but I think what would have made the whole thing feel a little different is if I was more “in the group” but because I’ve been on the outskirts the majority of the time, it just made it sting that much more.

Then I started to get slightly paranoid and wondered if I was missing something. Did I do something wrong? Did I say something that was off? I felt like a message was being sent and that confused the hell out of me [and lowkey still does]. BUT SOB STORY ASIDE lol I brushed my shoulder off, switched gears and thought “f*ck it, let me make my own side blog and do my thing on there” and that worked for me! I got traction after that, people were responding to my stuff and throwing in their own ideas/commentary/analysis etc. I felt like I could engage with people more, even with the limitations Tumblr puts on side blogs. And just the whole vibe overall started to feel really f*cking good. The funny thing too is that I’ve noticed that a lot of Twitter is on here and vice versa so it’s the same folks but for some reason I think this platform has opened up more possibilities for engagement in my experience. Twitter lends to a wider audience than Tumblr unfortunately but I’ve accepted my humble abode on here.

This rant is getting super long so I’ll end with this; I have nothing against the Nashuri fam on Twitter. Just because I’m not necessarily apart of the “crew” doesn’t mean that I don’t find everyone hilarious or amazing in any way. If you think I’m funny anon, you need to read what these girls say because it is SUPERB *chefs kiss* The talent from artworks to fics to think pieces and everything in between is incredible and oozes from that community. But for me, I think I just haven’t found my footing or people over there and as much as it’s been a bummer, I’m still going to be on there to support the dope stuff that comes out of it. I also want to say that just because this has been my experience doesn’t mean it will be yours. I fully encourage you to branch out on different platforms and try and engage with as many people as possible [fandom or not]. I think I just got my finger burned once and immediately gave up rofl. One of the biggest blessings that have come out of the Nashuri fandom in general is it’s vast bipoc community. As a black woman myself, I haven’t experienced this level of inclusivity when it comes to race, gender, language, culture, ages etc in other fandoms. It’s beautiful and I will always be thankful for that.

I also want to drive home that everyone needs to find what works for them. You owe yourself that. If you feel like your aren’t getting what you desire out of Instagram, move to Twitter and see what happens. If Twitter isn’t cutting it, move to Discord. Move to Tumblr, you name it! I think that move for me made a HUGE difference and honestly made me feel better about being in this fandom in the first place. And also this just goes for life in general but just because you might not feel included somewhere doesn’t mean you or the place is a problem. You might just need some scenery change.

Hi anon! Sorry for the late reply, I’ve been through some work-related life-changing stuff this past week, but it all worked out eventually so I can throw myself back into this relationship research, yay!😆

The Fallon Tonight interview

Now that you mentioned it, it’s kinda obvious here🤔It seemed he was twisting the ring with his pinky and then adjusting it. I went through my archive and found out he did this in a couple more interviews, basically the solo ones, his hands were mostly out of the frame in others. He’s got restless hands during press, I think he was doing it pretty unconsciously, probably still getting used to the feel of the ring around the finger consider he hadn’t had one for quite a few years. Honestly I’m more than reluctant to talk about his recent marriage, it hurts my brain to even think about it and has me go “ugh” & roll my eyes every time I see a pic of them together🙄Sorry I just have so much empathy with his daughters especially I’m the same age as Clara.

The GQ interview

This one is so interesting on so many levels. I didn’t know it was edited tho, the one I read was already the second version. As for the “homoerotic Obi-Wan/Hayden fan art” - WOW, I mean WoW, Obi-Wan/Hayden huh? Can’t even tell fiction from reality now can you McGregor?😌And for the record, this was not the first time he mixed it up. In this interview at 1:59, when asked about whether the show explores the shift in dynamic of Obi-Wan always viewed Anakin as a brother and Anakin always looked at Obi-Wan like a father, he answered: “He’s my padawan and I’m his master, he’s my student if you like, that is very much the dynamic. But I feel we’re very close, I mean me and Hayden are, so I feel Obi-Wan and Anakin are.” Personally I haven’t quite figured out his logic here yet, what’s the causality of him and Hayden being close leads to Obi/Ani being close, and didn’t the closeness of Obi/Ani come on script way before him and Hayden even met??? If anything, it should be the other way around. I gave up on this after a while, it’s just easier to assume he didn’t think it through, otherwise I’m gonna lose my mind someday lol. I know some people interpret his reaction to the homoerotic fan art as “he thinks it’s gross”, well I call it BS. This is the man who enjoys kissing boys, never shies away from getting naked in front of camera and still willing to play gay characters in his 50s, that was him getting caught off guard by the sudden reveal of something he thought was a photo, shocked, not disgusted. The LADbible interview

T H I S. I could write a 50k word thesis and have a 3-day seminar on this interview alone. Where to begin, the lighting, the atmosphere, the vibe…This is truly the closest thing we get to see them on a date, the Brits really know how to pull off a good interview (Idk if you noticed, but the best interviews of this press tour were done in UK). Then there is the chemistry. I know Hayden pretty much looks at everyone the same way, but with Ewan it’s just different, he’s like becoming 19 again, I can literally see the electricity and sparkles shooting out of his heart eyes. I mean look at these comments:

I was constantly amazed by how Hayden remembers every single minute details from 22 years ago: their first meeting, the lightsaber guy Thomas, getting drunk and playing a game of pool at the local bar, watching comedy specials at Ewan’s home laughing till the early hours of the morning, his first ride on a bike with Ewan…I don’t mean to quote Taylor Swift but he really remembers it all too fking well (on the other hand it seems Ewan had forgotten a lot😅).

The PR possibility

Oh GOD I hope not! My guess is he wouldn’t have such a crucial part in the Ahsoka series like he did in the Kenobi show so he wouldn’t even do much press. Plus, Rosario has already been paired with Natasha Liu Bordizzo for a lot of interviews at the celebration and SDCC, I think it’ll remain this way during the actual press next year. However, one thing I know for sure is the awkward photos of them hugging and staring intensely into each other’s eyes at the 19th Annual IFP Independent Spirit Awards in 2004 are gonna float around the internet again.😒

Closing thoughts

Deborah was right, they do share a very personal relationship. Like Ewan said in the Vanity Fair interview about their first encounter in 12 years at the signing event: "It was difficult to know how to sum up. So much had happened to us in our lives, and it was difficult to know…I realized this is an important person in front of me, an important person in my life.” That’s what’s so fascinating and intriguing about these two, there was so much history, but so little was documented and so much of it got lost in time. Like what more happened in Sydney and London??? It burns me to think that we’re probably never gonna know, all we can do is piece together whatever info we can find and hope to have a little peek behind the curtains. Still, the fun part of uncovering the truth is the searching, the digging, the cross-referencing, that’s why I enjoy it so much.

do you have advice for finding manufacturers for charms n zines please

hi! honestly I just kinda look around twitter and various searches to see what people bring up! (etc. searching [manu name] and setting the twitter search to only people I follow, since a lot of them make merch)

I want to know if their experiences were good or bad, or if there's a kind of manu I should avoid. The How To Be A Con Artist tumblr is also good at having charm reviews and info on other merch.

I'm putting everything else under a read more just so it doesn't get too long on someone's dash!

I went with Vograce for my first charm experience tho cuz

EDIT 2/3/2022: I tried out another manu and actually liked them a lot better than Vograce (especially for my art style), so I'm using them from this point forward. I could do a post comparing the two manus I tried if people are interested and my reasons why?

it was a manu name I already knew about since I followed artists who used it

I had a couple of friends who were able to vouch for their quality and use them regularly

the good experiences I found outnumbered the bad

They appealed to me cuz of the discounts for quantity

I liked how they offered the clasps/straps as well (So, I didn't have to worry about finding and ordering those accessories and attaching them myself.)

NOTE THO: it's based in China, so shipping is kinda pricey depending on how much you get, and it'll take a while for them to get to you. Here's the notes I kept for my first test run

Vograce has a lot of options (to make things easier too, here's the tumblr post of a pic I took of the first charms I made) I really liked how they came out, just keep CMYK in mind and how printing will always be kinda darker (or lead to some colors being more saturated)

The charm looks a lil off shape wise cuz oops I took this pic an angle- but you can see how much darker his hair and clothes came out on the charm, so I colored the chibi with that in mind. It's good to test printing at home on just regular printer paper in color if it's possible. I printed and cut them out on the sizes I was thinking about ordering for them, and it really helped me decide.

(Anyway yes I love Vograce so far.... I just need to finish drawing more chibis to do a bigger order and hopefully set up a store/find audience....)

I know that ZapCreatives and Inkit Labs are other popular options for people. I've been in zines that have used either Zap or Vograce (or both depending on the kind of charm they want!). There's also people who go on Alibaba to find manufacturers, and while I know at least two manufacturers people use there, the process seems kinda intimidating and confusing to me. I also can't vouch for the quality of those manufacturers or know anyone personally who used them and liked it- so it'd be pretty weird for me to name them! (Vograce used to be only on Alibaba, but I think them having their own website now makes everything easier)

FOR ZINES-

I've only had experience as a participant and not a moderator, but I've been in zines that have used Lulu, Mixam, or PrintNinja. I know there's a few others, but their names slip my mind rn. I really like PrintNinja's quality btw, but they require a minimum of 250 so that's a lot..... It's also very expensive, so I really only see them used for collaborative zines with multiple artists/writers VS an individual

Lulu is....... lol it's fine. I use it to buy hardcover copies of my senior thesis. It's alright, but I'd like to try other places since Lulu didn't have a lot of paper options from what I remember. I usually don't know the kind of zine manufacturers the zines I've been have specifically used aside from a few (it's not something really brought up in the servers). I think their perfect bound and saddle-stitched bound books are good! I'm just not really a fan of how their hardcover feels.

I also know people that had a really bad experience through Mixam and had to switch to another manufacturer, even though I've seen others have good experiences with them. So it all depends...... I do need to look more into zine printing eventually....

How do you ink your comics of Revelry? They're so clean and nice, I woulda sworn they were all digital till I noticed the color looked like regular markers. How can I make my sketches end up so awesome?

aw, thank you! they're all pen-and-paper, yeah- i haven't done digital in almost 2 years lol. digital was kinda rough on my eyes and it killed my wrist, traditional is much more intuitive to me

for most of my recent stuff, i've been using these tombow fudenosuke pens! i got these at a bookstore but i've seen them at walmart n target, they're more 'stationery' pens than 'art' pens. i have a sort of... eclectic collection of pens lol but i really like these. the brush tip is firmer than other brush pens i have so it's easier to keep a similar line weight while still having variation.

i have a bad habit of sketching kinda hard, so i usually end up with little grey lines that i can't erase, and the lighting in my room is `uhh pretty bad lol. that 1st pic there is unedited, the 2nd just has the brightness & contrast turned up (to lighten white parts & darken the lines) and saturation down (i usually get a gross yellow tint after the first part, this helps get rid of that). i do most of my editing just on my phone lol, tho sometimes i do have to touch a photo up in gimp or w/e, especially if i used color.

but yeah! that's pretty much it. c: nice clear lines, try to take a decent photo with relatively smooth lighting, then edit (brightness + contrast up!) & post! i realize this may not be super helpful but ah. idk

i also really like these super fine-tip color pens! i like sketching with them sometimes, you get really nice clean lines. c: but they're also really nice for hatching n such!

The Masked Singer Season 5 Episode 5 Recap: Group B Finals ft a plot twist (Commentary & Guesses)

Hi everyone! Welcome (or welcome back) to Ana’s Masked Singer recap, where I, Ana, recap every episode of The Masked Singer. So, this week, we are back to Group B with yet another wildcard and it is the last time we are gonna see the groups on their own since after Group A’s final, we got the Super Eight (yup, it’s 8 this time... much better still than last season’s format). Anyways, let’s get into it (this is gonna be super repetitive from last week guess wise but I am gonna try to keep it interesting and fresh for you guys, don’t you worry):

Alright, so usually I would save the wildcard for the end as like a surprise, but since the wildcard got eliminated, let’s introduce (and say goodbye to at the same time) to the:

Bulldog!! 🐶

Commentary: Ok, he sang Candy Girl by New Edition (which is really funny and ironic for a whole other thing, I’ll explain in a moment I swear) and um how do I say this nicely?... he’s a great dancer, but the singing is, what Randy Jackson would say, “a no from me dawg.” (Get it? Dawg.. bc the bullDOG... oh ok I will stop now). Anyways, yeah no, he was not good, I kind of expected this to happen honestly, so I am not surprised nor disappointed by any means. However, the person under this mask kinda did surprise me lol... even tho I kind of saw this coming.

He was revealed to be, in the biggest plot twist of the century, no voting, just Neicy Nash picking it:

*which is ironic because he legit just announced he was gonna have another baby

Ok, ok, did I get this right on my own? Nope, but Twitter helped me out so thank you Twitter. I did officially guess him before he was unmasked (but that’s because I had no other guesses sooo can I really count this a win? Hmmm... TBD... you guys let me know). Anyways, BOOM PLOT TWIST BABY, he’s back! Just in case you guys didn’t know (I don’t really talk about the judges or the host here because I watch for the contestants not for them and it would make this already long blog longer and we don’t want that): Nick had COVID so he couldn’t host the first few episodes of the show, but now he’s better and BOOM he’s the host again... Neicy Nash was taking over for him and now he’s back! So yeah this was just a transition for him to be back on the show, but like imma be honest: he might have been married to Mariah Carey but he don’t got any pipes like her, but he’s a good host so he should stick to that.

Anyways, NEXTTTT, let’s talk about the remaining 4 (which are legit the same freaking ones from last week):

1. Black Swan 🖤🦢

Commentary: So she sang Whitney Houston's How Will I Know and I swear she gets better and better each week like she murdered this song, it was absolutely amazing, my favorite performance of the night hands down. I really love Black Swan, she has one of the best voices on the show and I think either her or Robopine could win the entire season tbh.

Reasoning/Clues:

10-10-10= She has appeared on multiple singing competition shows (she did a lot of those shows as a kid), she was on America’s Most Talented Kids and was a guest judge on celebrity X Factor

Montana= get this... if you are around my age, this will surprise you. Did you guys know that Jojo was the original person that the producers of Hannah Montana wanted to play Hannah but she turned it down because she wanted to focus on her music

2. Crab 🦀

Commentary: He sang Give it to Me Baby by Rick James and it was a very strong performance, it almost took me aback the song choice. I didn’t expect him to go that hard in the beginning, the hip thrusts were a bit uncomfortable for me and he can’t dance for shit (I am sure it’s because he’s a bit older, not faulting him by any means), but it was really strong vocally speaking. He did actually loose his breathe and started hyperventilating under the mask and had to take a break to cool down (literally, because he was burning up under there), which honestly I hope he’s ok, I am not sure if he’s gonna last that long because of that hyperventilating (remember Mickey Rourke?), but tbh it would have been so unfair for him to go because he did an amazing job and I enjoyed his performance. He got soul.... crab’s got soul.

This has got to be (doubling down, like omg even the picture matches w the body type and everything, I am onto something here):

Bobby Brown

Reasoning/Clues:

Mom kept him in the straight and narrow and taught him how to cook= well, he has spoke about how his mother has gotten him away from the gangs and trouble around his neighborhood and into cooking (he even has a food line, hence the Mac and cheese), which also made him take up singing and thus his band New Edition (remember how I said Nick singing Candygirl by New Edition was ironic? Well this is why... because crab is Bobby Brown aka one of the members.... also Black Swan sang his ex wife’s song so yeah this can’t get any more ironic) was formed

Big Ben= Initals, BB aka Bobby Brown and also he had a show in 2005 called Being Bobby Brown and one of the episodes “Bobby Does London” he goes to London

Ribs= he has a line of BBQ sauces and seasonings called Bobby Brown Foods

3. Piglet 🐷

Commentary: This time, he went a bit softer with the song choice which I feel compliments his voice better, with 7 Years by Lukas Graham, which made Jenny, who apparently hasn’t listened to this song before (wtf Jenny, this song was all over the radio in like 2017 and you are like a radio host hun), cry. I mean it was really amazing and ballads actually suit him a lot more than super upbeat songs like last week’s Andy Grammar song and I really enjoyed it, I’ve heard that song a million times so no I didn’t cry but I still loved it. I do think Piglet will go super far, my guess is he will make it to semifinals.

Genie Lamp= He did a cover of Aladdin’s A Whole New World with his ex Jessica Simpson on Disney Mania 3

The “spider” who made him a family man= referring to Vanessa Lachey, it was supposed to be this whole Charlotte’s Web thing not really referring anything specific about her that she’s a spider, she could have been another pig for all we care

Dog Tags= in the physical clue, there are 3 dog tags, which he has been seen wearing (you can Google those pics) and they represent his 3 kids which his wife gave him before they had their third kid, Phoenix (btw there’s a P on the bottom dog tag shown)

4. Chameleon

Commentary: Ok so he rapped again but this time the song was Hip Hop by Dead Prez (which I have felt like I have heard but I have no idea where) and I usually hate rappers on this show, but like he’s legit. What I mean by that is like he’s an actual rapper (well Bow Wow was too... but Bow Wow only went as far as he did because of his dancing, Chameleon is just pure rap talent) and his flow is insane. I am not a rap fan whatsoever but I can appreciate good rapping and that was good rapping, actually it was great rapping. Sure, he’s the weakest link of the four but he’s also the coolest one could argue.

Wiz Khalifa

Reasoning/Clues:

His little Chameleon/lizard= he has an 8 year old son named Sebastian (he also says Cam in the package which is his real name... by him I mean Wiz.... his real name is Cameron)

Martial Arts= the dude likes Martial Arts and has been trained in it and Jiu Jitsu, he has mentioned it in interviews, has been spotted training in gyms, it’s no secret at this point that he likes that stuff

Hot wings= he has a wings place called HotBox by Wiz and he was also on Hot Ones (for those unfamiliar, it’s a YouTube show where celebs eat 10 super spicy chicken wings while answering questions) idk if that counts but I am also gonna say it

P2 of the Primer - Minho!

Fandom primer for fandom feels.

So, Minho, dance leader!

Minho (Lee Know, Lino...) is the Stray Kids’ Marilla Cuthbert. Very controlled with showing his feelings. Wants to feed everyone. Hard working and practical. Dresses like an old woman who is constantly freezing.

His lack of desire to embarrass himself on screen is very relatable to all anxious perfectionist introverts. He often gets confused for shy or cold because of this, when he will just not do silly things in front of the camera if he’s not sure of the result. His terrible art? He knows it’s terrible and that’s acceptable. His amazing dancing? He knows it’s amazing and that’s acceptable. Things he’s not sure about which include being vulnerable in front of strangers? NOT ACCEPTABLE. I respect that. So this “primer” will not perpetuate any “mean-ho” ideas thank you bye. (Felix calls him tsundere so if you see me use it, it’s not my fault.)

Anyway Minho is a dancer. That was his job before he joined SKZ (he toured with bts etc) and it was his primary role in SKZ for a while. When he first joined he wasn’t a good singer or rapper, but he would have been ok if he wasn’t constantly shaking because he was convinced he’d get kicked out. Which is valid because he did get kicked out.

oh also - I will treat his and Felix’s story as if the elimination wasn’t a setup just because whatever else was going on, they thought it was real.

His singing voice wasn’t great so he was asked to rap instead. He had never done it but said he’d be willing to try. They were given... what? No time? To prepare for that change and famously, Changbin rapped backup for him and Han held his hand and timed the beat with it.

so i cried, and then he did get eliminated because he messed up the lyrics next time so i cried more and then he sent a final message and i FUCKING BAWLED.

To Han: “The time I failed, was it because you weren’t holding my hand?”

Changbin helped him a lot during practice for the second song and they both felt so bad for different reasons. Minho kept saying he was sorry that someone younger than him had to be helping him and that he was failing despite it. “If I had slept one hour less, would I have been able to do it better?” and Changbin with “What did I do for him, that I couldn’t teach him better?” Anyway this show was torture but I’m gonna go back to the good stuff now.

Minho got to come back and they were a band happily ever after. Before the elimination tho he helped the other members with their dance routines. So, shit i learned about kpop peripherally: most bands are made by formula like “2 members rap, 2 members dance, 2 members sing” or something like that. Minho could dance and Changbin could rap and Seungmin could sing and the goal is rarely to get everyone to be great at everything. And Minho was like “nah.” And he made it his goal to make everyone as good a dancer as possible. So while others were helping him with singing and rapping, he was helping them with dancing.

For me a very important scene in the show was when Bang Chan kinda lost it at IN’s lack of ability to dance and he had everyone stand aside and kept telling IN to try again and Minho gave Bang Chan side-eye and went over to IN to teach him how to do it better.

and Minho’s face just saying “you’re not helping” as he walked over in clear defiance of any hierarchy.

So Minho’s whole approach to the group was “I will help everyone be better at dancing”. According to Chan he picked Minho with the idea that Minho would be in charge of dancing. Which is a big fucking deal. For Bang Chan personally and band as a whole.

Changbin asking this question, who else. Chan was like “that phrasing doe?” But eventually:

(Changbin is listening but also not giving a shit, he’s just waiting for Chan to be done so he can ask what his role is and be told he’s the visual, Minho feeds him so fucking well.)

In group dances Minho tends to not stick out. In fact, Minho would really like it if no one stuck out. His goal is to have them all as synchronized as possible and he’s really good at it.

His solos fucking murder us every time tho :(

Oh yeah. He’s very good at his job. He has also gotten SO MUCH better at singing. I don’t think he gets enough credit for how fucking hard he must have worked on that on top of everything else they do. I know the color of his voice doesn’t pop out like Seungmin or IN’s, but he can hold his own now. (His parts in Slump and Neverending story for example. Slump in particular because apparently Han wrote that whole ass song to fit HIS high notes and everyone just went “I guess” and then Han said “but I’ll only rap in it”.)

But enough about how much I respect him as an artist. Let’s talk about how if he is your favorite in the band, there’s a 99% chance your kink is being spit on followed by a good aftercare. Look I don’t make the rules. Just accept it like Hyunjin has.

Did he tickle him after that? Who knows. Not Hyunjin.

but he feeds him well so it’s all good.

In fact, other than making everyone dance well, Minho’s second mission in life is to make sure everyone is well fed. (He is definitely that grandmother who will tell you you’ve gained weight and then get upset when you don’t eat everything she made for you.)

How is this post still fucking going? How do I have so many thoughts on this one man wtf? Anyway just a quick note about his ex husband.

Back in the olden days Minho made lunch and wrote a lovely thank you letter to Seungmin and things were great. Now they jokingly call each other the divorced couple and even though they are roommates they both claim they can’t be roommates. I have a theory that could be way off but I will type it up here anyway. My theory hearkens back to the first paragraph which is that Minho doesn’t like doing things in front of the camera when he’s not sure how it’s gonna end up. And I think Seungmin for his own reasons isn’t very expressive either. And maybe sometimes on camera he didn’t react like Minho needed him to. And it ended in Minho adjusting his on camera attitude. Again, I could be way off, but the way I see it, there is safety in teasing. The same way he’ll show off his giraffe picture and be like “isn’t it beautiful” when he clearly has functional eyes, he can show his friendship with Seungmin and say “lol isn’t it horrible” and he gets the expected feedback and it’s fine. It’s better than being seen as overly needy or reaching out and not getting what you want. And tbh I think he and Seungmin pingpong this at each other and this is why every tsundere needs a Felix or Han to hug them despite the shit that’s coming out of their mouth.

But Seungmin can still recognize him by his tiddies so clearly they’re fine off camera.

As far as fan stuff goes, Minho has a regular live where he eats delicious food and talks to fans. Sometimes fans are really shitty and he plays it off but he is human and y’all need to get your shit together. But since all his fans are subs it all works out in the end. (Go on, tell me he’s your bias and you’re not a sub, I won’t believe you.)

Oh PS: I am not getting into Minho and Han now. Maybe ... MAYBE by the time I’m on Jisung’s profile I’ll be emotionally ready for that.

Patreon updates

I’ll put more in depth info about all this under a read more, but I’m gonna start updating my patreon again but this time with speedpaints instead of/alongside visual novel stuff. There isn’t anything posted just yet, I’ll post the first speedpaint sometime in the next week.

So uhh its been a while lol. I’ve been pondering what do do with my patreon for the last few months, cause I didn’t really know what to do w it. I was originally gonna use it for visual novel related stuff exclusively, but since I finished the last fan game I made there hasn’t really been much to post.... cause while I have been working on stuff, it’s all boring backend programming stuff, or stuff that would be better shown publicly to get ppl interested in the first place. I’d always pitched it as mostly just a tip jar anyway, so I figured I’d just take a break for a bit and anyone could drop off if they weren’t interested anymore, but I still felt kinda bad abt leaving it, so I wanted to do something with it.

I had however been thinking of including speedpaint videos instead/in the meantime. I’ve always liked them personally, but they’re kinda a pain to make, and youtube’s algorithms make it hard to really get anywhere with them, so I could never be bothered doing them, but I figure they’d be a cool thing to put on my patreon instead. They’d be more worth my time, and I don’t have to deal with any of youtube’s bull.

Another reason I’ve been thinking of doing this is I finally got around to buying the full version of the screen recording software I use, Flashback, (it turns out they had a Very Good student discount lol) which makes editing the videos WAY easier, cause I used to have to export every piece of footage individually to be able to edit them, which took ages, but now I can edit them all in the software itself, and then just export it Once as the final copy, which saves So. Much. Time.

tbh the only reason I even use it is that all the other screen recorders I tried HATED clip studio for some reason, at least on my laptop (Especially OBS..... for some reason having OBS open on my laptop At All breaks pressure sensitivty in CSP for me??? but not in anything else??? wtf??) tho I mostly just like how simple it is to record stuff too

Basically I can make speedpaints way easier now but also I hate using youtube so I figure I’ll slap them on my patreon instead.

Also like I mentioned, I’m thinking of offering slowed down ones too? not real time, that’d be like 6+ hours at bare minimum, no one wants that, but I could do like. hour long ones if people are into that? I’ve seen ppl offer them, but I don’t have the attention span to watch someone draw for that long lol, so I dunno if people actually watch them. they would take like no extra effort to make, if I’m already doing sped up ones anyway

I will probably do abt one speedpaint (2 if I do the slowed down one too, but same footage) a month, available on the $1 tier. I don’t plan to do other tiers, this is still mostly just a fun tip jar thing, so I never want ppl to feel obligated to pay, it’s just a fun bonus for the ppl who do and are able to support me, but it’s totally not necessary. I might end up making the speedpaints public after like. a year or so, and I’m never gonna have like. actual art exclusive there or anything.

I don’t record Everything that I draw, cause it can be a hassle sometimes, but I do have a bit of a backlog of footage that I can use, so I have a buffer I can go back on if I don’t get anything recorded that month. The fandom wiki, details and references, but not sure it's for getting art references or anything, just the joy of hoarding it and knowing everything! He would 100% read every x reader he can find and sometime cringe at the mischaracterization! He cries when there it's angsty and will mope a little if it somehow involve my death/me getting hurt/me doing something immoral I wouldn't do.

OH NO IDEA??? Probably!!! Seems like something he would do! I am divided between public or not but... Maybe a very public announcement but the wedding is with his friends(the barto club, who would be hardcore into my media as well lol)

Hahaha his whole room is covered are you kidding?? In canon he formed a whole crew as a fanclub for Luffy after meeting him ONCE. He has plushes and all official merches and probably a cosplay.
