If you wish to see any Yelena works of mine where her headcanon is aroace and the reader (you) or an OC is just her friend, I'll eventually have some up! Thank you for your patience.

I did some research and noticed that no one has ever explicitly said that Yelena is aroace, even if it is/was implied.

MCU official Devin Grayson said himself that “Obviously, there's a lot more to them than that-Nat is older and more experienced and less invested in the approval of others, as well as being a very passionate person who forms deep connections with other people despite the intention not to, whereas Yelena is in some ways less cynical about her ability to change the world than Nat is, less hampered by association with highly principled associates, and probably more likely to identify as asexual than to follow Nat's romantic path-but that's the central tension between the two characters."

Therefore, it was never directly confirmed, and you can't chastise people for "erasing her identity" since it wasn't confirmed in the first place (and only ace was stated, not aro). If your headcanon is that Yelena is aroace, you go boo! She’s whoever you want her to be, and that is the purpose of a headcanon. But that is not my headcanon.

Please don't invalidate my opinion since I'm not invalidating yours. If you have an issue, you can block me or my Yelena-related works (the hashtag is Kaiaxyelenabelova), but please don't spam my comments or inbox with bs.

I don't see anyone complaining about the hundreds of AUs where writers diverge from the authorial intent or canon of characters? In fact, I see a lot of requests for more. Marvel and Yelena aren't going to show up at our doors to yell at us for using headcanons instead of canons. Marvel wants us to come up with our own concepts. It’s encouraged. Why do you think they gave us What If? Those episodes are partial scenarios that we’re supposed to come up with our own endings to. Plus, the details in the MCU films do not always align to the specifics in Marvel comics anyways.
