I was 13 and I don’t really remember the day I realized I was a lesbian it was more a slow discovery that I was definitely not bisexual but it took me a while to claim the term lesbian
4. for ethnic lesbians/lesbians of color, how does your race/ethnicity/culture relate to you being butch/stud/femme?
as soon as I saw this question I was reminded of this other mexican femme’s article on the allure of chola femininity and it really touched me because the intersection of my latina identity and my lesbian identity is something that I don’t think about until I read something and then I’m like oh yeah I have a very different understanding of femininity than a lot of people around me because of my ethnicity but all in all that’s something I’m still trying to balance and figure out and I’ll let you know when I figure it out
7. do you prefer to read lesbian history, engage with the community, both or otherwise?
I love lesbian history and I own so many books and I read a lot of articles but I’d love to engage with the community more like I have so many queer friends but I don’t have much connection to the lesbian community in my city so in theory both

i’ve been rlly wanting to unpack the way i experience desire as a tmasc femmedyke. i think bc im currently isolated as a trans person, as a lesbian, as a black person & even as a femme iso of a stud/butch,,,desire has felt much more intense.
i feel that what im really longing for is a shared eroticism between myself & other black dykes of all perversions. my body longs for a shared space of love n gut wrenching dyke s3x. my shattered pieces ring out for a handsome butchdyke 2 touch me gently, slowly. i want 2 dissipate in the arms of love & find joy in the eyes of a lovr.

A young Puerto Rican lesbian in the early 2000s from the Bronx gets an internship with her favorite author— who happens to be a white cis lesbian who turns out to be a little clueless—
She spends the summer finding her way, finding queer kinship and most of all finding herself!!
It’s a beautiful beautiful book!
