Update!
Okay, so Monday's update and probably the last update for FDS for a long time to come (Not counting the side stories XD)
1. I just got done with Patreon part of the book where the MC can cuddle with all three characters.
2. Laurel and Thor now have a monologue as the MC sleeps in their arms.
3. Emphasis that River is having trouble with her/his body.
4. The book now stands close to 135K words!
That's pretty much it, I'll be holding a poll after tomorrow (Need to catch up on studies and assignments) on which book I should be focusing on. That's pretty much it, Thanks for all the support you all, take care and Love ya'll!! ♥

I've been playing Persona 3 Portable and I've REALLY been liking it, but it's making me reeeeally wish you could choose the gender of your protagonist in every Persona game. I think I'd have been way more likely to play the other ones if that had been the case.

We didn't think it would reach so many people so quickly, and so

Spotlight on: The Spring Thing
Currently in its Voting Period, the Spring Thing is a yearly Interactive
Fiction festival, meant as an informal counterpart of the big IFComp in the autumn. It has been held every year since 2002.
“The Spring Thing especially welcomes diverse voices and populations traditionally under-voices and populations traditionally under-represented in gaming, including women, people of color, queer and LGBT+ folks, and blind, neuro-diverse, or disabled creators. People from all walks of life should feel encouraged to participate as players, authors, or reviewers.”
The event is sectioned into three categories: the Main Garden, for games eligible for prizes, the Back Garden, for unfinished projects or
experiments, and New Game+, for remastered and updated games.
Aside from the winning “Best in Show” ribbon (and prizes), each entry can receive “Audience Awards”, customised ribbons submitted by voters.
You can play the 33 entries over on the Spring Thing website! And if you liked one very much, consider voting for it before May 11th!
According to the organiser, the votes are really split, so EVERY VOTE COUNTS!!

You’re probably wondering, “what the hell?” Honestly so am I, as not even I can fully process what I’ve done. Rata2ouille: The Perfect Dish (AKA Funny Ratgame) is a satirical, freeware indie platformer, social simulation, full length role-playing hybrid game. Following the events of Ratatouille for Wii and its sequel Ratatouille PSP, a new adventure unfolds after a series of events leads to the protagonist discovering a mysterious world known as the Food Network. Partnering up with an odd naked mole rat named Twinkles, the protagonist forms the Rodent Risers, braving the Food Network to find the mythical Perfect Ingredients and defeat the brutally evil rat Knox. Q: Is this really a full length Persona style RPG?
A: Yes. I’m sorry, I don’t know why. It’s about 60 Hours long.
Q: How long did this take to make?
A: About two and a half years, though I took many breaks from working on it due to being a full time college student (after some gap years) and having other projects I’ve been working on.
Q: Who made this? What kind of person makes this? Can you tell us about yourself because I need to know what’s wrong with you???
A: I’m very sorry to tell you that a very hot goth artsy nonbinary femboy made this game. I hope that makes the game more intimidatingly powerful.
Q: If this is a heavily Persona inspired game will it be re-released with a single new dungeon in a few years with a new marketable character tacked on?
A: Buddy if enough people find this funny and enjoy playing it, you know it! That and if enough people would like to help me add full blown voice acting in a re-release, which would be one of my major focuses for an enhanced version.
Q: Why did you make this?
A: I was really bored during the pandemic. Originally this was a small crude gag game I was making years and years and years ago that I scrapped, but I completely revamped it into something much more elaborate and surreal as a little distraction to keep me busy while quarantining. It sort-of functioned as a low stakes testing ground for less facetious games I plan on releasing in the near future. There’s also an underlying commentary on how obnoxious and outlandish unnecessary sequels to self-contained and subdued stories are, which can be seen in how ridiculously unhinged the game is with constantly recontextualizing various minute-details of the original movie and retconning things as if it was all deep foreshadowing.
Q: Why are you acting like Ratatouille is some kind of game series?
A: In the past, in the really early beginnings of making this game, I had this whole elaborate ARG thing I would often joke about with friends where I would insist the movie was just a really bad faithless adaption of a video game series developed by Platinum Games and published by Atlus. There were jokes about the name “Remy” being a “dumb movie adaption thing” and that Ratatouille is in fact the proper name. The implication was that the “Disney movie adaption” was so bad it killed off the game series until this sequel came out well over a decade later due to “vocal fan support.” This eventually died down a bit, but some of the ironic ARG stuff has lingered. One part of the ARG was originally going to be that there were two people working on this game instead of one and that they’d have a messy public falling out on the game’s tumblr blog, but this was scrapped because it felt too explosive lol.
Q: What do you mean by this being a sequel to Ratatouille for Wii and Ratatouille PSP? Aren’t those the same game?
A: While the Ratatouille tie-in game on most consoles was just a movie adaption, the PSP version was one of those weird tie-in games that takes place after the movie. I never beat the game but the plot entails Chef Skinner stealing all the recipe cards from the new restaurant around the time of their grand opening, and Rem- Ratatouille having to retrieve them. This is recited as some sort of major, melodramatic event in Rata2ouille. Ratatouille PSP has a lot of scrapped side-characters from the movie appear (such as rats named Celine, Dodo, Twitchy all of whom were meant to appear in the movie and were in the official art book) in addition to very odd new characters such as Teen Rat, who is seemingly a Sonic the Hedgehog pastiche that challenges Remy to races. These game-exclusive characters are all treated as if they’re established characters from the movie that we should know and recognize so when I discovered they exist halfway through development, I retroactively added a bunch of them into this game and treated them exactly the same here. I did a lot of deep diving into the production of the movie and its tie-in material while making this game and referenced a lot of niche stuff -- in order to be as bizarre as possible, I also needed to be as “authentic” as possible.

Weekly update!
Most of the week was spent studying and catching up however I was able to write about 3K words! (Mostly cause I'm a tad bit burnt out and lacking sleep XD) Dw though, I'm getting back into routine ^-^
Patreon story was released. I'll be working on another which involves the MC and Laurel! A little bit of jealousy here, a little bit of protectiveness there, and since it'll be a glimpse of the future, it'll show another part of Laurel! A caring, mother-bear part that's going to make other think twice before they approach the MC XD
That's pretty much it! I'm hoping to release this Patreon story between Friday and Sunday! (I might not but I'm putting the deadline to commit myself)

Early Update!
Blegh, I am so very sorry you guys, but I'm not very satisfied with how the story is right now, and I really don't want to give you guys something that I'm not satisfied with (Cause you all deserve the best)
I'd say I'd post it on Monday or Tuesday, but just to be safe, I'm extending the deadline to 15th and completing all the pathways, and doing my best to do right by the new character. I won't be updating on monday cause this is an early update XD. so yeah!
Burning down Harag's house is at 30K words.I expect to add in another 2-3K
About 4K words were added, putting the book at 124K words.
It has now been 3 months since I started working on FDS, and I've written 50K words, (Add 20k If we count Patreon short stories) while reading through 70K. Quite something ngl, but still not enough for me.

Update! (Both books)
Okay! Since I don't have much time since internet being cut off so I can focus on my exams, let's get right into it!
1. I was able to work on 5K words and on the chapter where you burn Harag's house down.
2. Unfortunately the update for FDS won't be released on March but on April, but don't worry! I'll be releasing small stories like I have been doing for Lost In Your Eyes!.
3. The reason only 5K words were looked through was that I was working on Podcast with James! Hope you enjoy!! <3
4. I'll be working on a Valentine story though I don't know if I'll be able to complete it on Valentine's Day. It'll feature John and Elizabeth! I'll try to work on John first and then move to Elizabeth!
5. Hopefully I'll have read through at least 6K words, it's not a lot since I'm working on another Patreon short story while studying for exams so sorry >.<

Okay! Update time!
Integrating River into the game has brought it’s own challenges but I’ve been tackling them quite nicely. 3K words have been added into the game.
I still keep falling into the trap of looking at a sentence and thinking it doesn’t sound right, then spend hours trying to see if it’s okay or not, reorganizing them, finding synonyms etc etc.
20K words have been read through which means that I’ll complete chapter 2 today. Chapter 3 has been updated a little as well on Noah’s part, and another goddess has been introduced. The goddess of forest. I migghhtt add the option to romance a goddess, but fingers crossed. It’s either that, or introducing another character after River and then that would the entire Roster. You could choose to romance all of them of course. (I’ll keep the degeneracy limited lmao)

Monday’s update
The fact that I misspelled “Monday” like 5 times before typing it correctly makes me wanna bury my head in a pillow and sleep XD Anyways, got exams tomorrow so I’ll make this quick!
About 3K-5K words were written, which puts the game at 227K words. Once the game reaches 230k and all the loose ends are tied, I’ll post it on Patreon (Preferably on 15th)
The date with John/Elizabeth has been fully implemented, just needs a slight revision.
The night where you get tied up by Vale/Vivians in the bed is deleted/postponed. It was a bit too rushed, and the emotion behind it wasn’t as impactful. It will happen but maybe after a few more scenes. A meet-up with Vale/Vivians dad, getting special perms after proving yourself so thoroughly etc etc.
That’s pretty much it! Hopefully I’ll be able to complete the piece with Vale/Vivian and Marcus/Melissa at the end of 15th, after that I’ll work on FDS. See you guys next week!! <3

Alright! An update!
For those who are following my Patreon, I know I said I’d release it on the first of this month but uhhh… Yeah, thing kinda got a bit out of hand. More importantly, the scene where you burn Harag’s “house.” You can fully skip it but it’s 9K (Might go to 12-13K as I said, getting outta hand). You’ll also find a lot of things so I suggest you don’t, but then again, I’m giving you so many options because I want your options to matter. Whether it’s burning down someone’s house, or choosing just how loving you want to be towards your rift walkers.
Now, onto the updates!
First off, I just want to thank all my Patreons and Ko-fi (I know there aren't any yet but thank you all future supporters! <3). They’ve been a massive motivation and I may have had an emotional breakdown this week over “OHMIGOSH PEOPLE ARE STILL SUPPORTING ME ” So haha, yeah. Thanks, everyone. You guys are awesome <3 I might also hold a poll there to choose a short story so yeah!
The game is at 44K (Yep, you heard that right. That’s almost 9K words from last week >:3) I’m gonna try to push myself really hard this week because on the 10th or 11th I’m gonna have to go camp at my professor’s house so he doesn’t send us on an unpaid internship. (A lot of reasons for me doing that, but first and foremost would be that I already left my previous job hence why I’m able to write 9K a week, but also cause It’s unpaid and a 9-10/11 job instead of a 9-5 (cause of me learning and such) along with other subjects in Uni, and then tutoring kids as well, it just leaves me no time to spend on the book, even if I pull all-nighters like I used to.). Dunno how long it’ll take for that but I won’t be alone so yeah, I am going to push really hard to release a Patreon version on the 8th or 9th (Imma try to release it on Friday or Saturday but I want this to be as perfec and enjoyable). (I think I might be oversharing, do tell me if I am;-; )
I’m just gonna leave this here cause I’m having way too much fun with the game.
Three heartfelt moments with Thor and two with Laurel, you can now extort a femboy from Harag (I was thinking of having you send Laurel to extort a femboy from a 12-year-old and also beat him up and take his money cause that’s literally what Pokemon was lmao but then I thought “Hey! This is even better!” As such, you can punch Harag where it hurts the most… well, not between his legs, but you’ll get the time to do that later.
A lot of world-building was done… and by a lot, I mean I referenced to like, 4 or 5 things BUT HEY! PROGRESS IS PROGRESS >:c

Things updated from before:
A new character has been introduced, though there isn't much content on that. Just a guy you can win through a battle.
Lots of world-building.
Harag has been given more personality. There are a lot of moments with Thor and Laurel.
Ula also acts like a proper goddess with her own schemes etc. The MC is not a champion but they can be if they choose to, but that's for future things.
That's pretty much it! The book now stands at;
64k WORDS.
