As I walk through beautiful, lush green fields and constantly stare at my steps tracker to make absolutely sure that I hit 10K, I realize the amount of fear and anxiety that rushes through my body if I don’t. If I say or do the imperfect thing - this means I will be forever abandoned. It’s not that I ever experienced abandonment in my life. It’s that I experienced a sense of conditional love - love that depended upon doing the perfect thing and always being well behaved. This is not a shame/blame post. Emotional immaturity says that in every situation, there is wrong and right, guilty and innocent. But life is soooo much more complex than that. Your parents did the best THEY knew how to do, and at the same time, they hurt you deeply through this perfectionism. You may feel a bit more stressed, anxious, fearful, sad or angry this week - and that’s okay.
It's because your amygdala - the part of your brain storing & processing emotions - is more active this week (at least from an energetic perspective).
This means it’s natural for bigger emotions, or emotional situations from the past, to come up.
If they do, it’s a sign from the universe that you’re ready to evolve through your limiting emotional baggage.
Even if you have awareness of a limiting emotion and start wondering how you could drop it, but you’re not ready to take action yet, that’s still progress.
🤔How do I know your amygdala is more ‘alive’ this week?
Human Design.
Yes, HD is about more than just your soul blueprint.
It also gives us a map of how transiting energy impacts your body.
The transit changes every few days, which affects your physical, emotional and etheric body - even if you’re not aware of it.
It also impacts what we want to talk about. And what we’re interested in and receptive to.
This is why I heard both Robert Sapolsky (Neuroendocrinology Researcher) and Molly McCord (Intuitive Astrologer) unexpectedly diverge from their podcast topics to talk about the amygdala. Neither of them planned it. But, they were both so in tune with universal energies and intuition that their awareness naturally went to these not-so-common topics.
Being ‘emotional’ has been called a weakness for far too long.
Thankfully, most of us now know that feeling - and releasing - your emotions is an essential part of healing and wellness. The trick is finding enough confidence to let go of what no longer serves you in a healthy way…. but I know you can do it. I believe in you 💜.

Photo by @the_positiveway8 All of your feelings are valid and it's important to feel them all, even the hard ones. This is something it has taken me so long to learn. I spent so many years bottling up my feelings. Believe me, once you've tried to cram them down for long enough they will explode out at some point anyway. Even if you hate to cry, for example, you still have to let it out sometimes if you're really sad. But it's also really important to learn how to feel your feelings and let them out in healthy ways, not by turning to substances or lashing out at someone. For me personally it really helps to talk things through with my therapist and have her help me identify my emotions. And honestly I have learned so many ways to let my feelings out by searching on Pinterest. Let me know if you want me to make a follow-up post sometime of different ways you can let feelings out.
