IN THE LAND OF GODS AND MONSTERS..

london has never been a normal city. and by now, one would believe that its residents would know better than to gather in one place, hm? it seems as if they do not. in fact, it seems as if no lessons were learned from the last time that it happened and now, they've set themselves up for disaster once more, but.. we're getting ahead of ourselves. let's move backwards a little bit and appreciate the picture, shall we? families, happily enjoying a moment of normality, as they move around the festival. sharing an apple cider. finding themselves enjoying the terror of a haunted house. couples, stealing a kiss on the top of the ferris wheel. friends - enjoying the time spent with one another.. the terrors of the past long forgotten. or so they thought. for you see... it seems as if the ones who left the festival earlier had the right idea.

after all, how does the old saying go?

that's right.

something wicked this way comes and.. it's best to get the hell out of dodge.

if you can, that is.

some did. some found themselves growing bored about the festival and went home. some left and then returned, hoping to find their loved ones before heading home themselves. and some.. did not wish to leave, believing the magical night to be something worth enjoying for a little longer. little did they know that they were about to get their wish.. only.. things are never quite as we imagine them, are they now?

TICK. TOCK. TICK. TOCK. TICK. TOCK.

the sound of the clock should have been the first sign that something was.. very, very wrong. after all - isn't it what always happens in the bad stories? the clock strikes midnight, the fairy tale ends and the horrible, horrible truth comes to light. it wasn't that different here. as soon as the clock hit midnight - the doors to the festival were shut down. oh, no. that isn't bound to happen while so many people are still inside, is it? people looked around, desperate for answers. some moved to find their loved ones. some hid, knowing that something bad was surely about to happen.

little did they know. and little were they able to do, as the fog advanced towards them, clouding the whole festival arena and seemingly make it disappear.. almost for a moment there. only it did not, did it? oh, no. the result was much worse. slowly, one by one - the people that had been left inside the festival started to wake up.

some found themselves surrounded by familiar faces, in a completely different location.

some.. found themselves surrounded by strangers, in a place that they had been in earlier during the day. a place that had been filled with happy memories - with love and laughter - and that was now about to be filled with nothing but terror. regardless, if there was one thing that they all had in common.. it was the confusion.

how did we get here? what happened? what was that fog?

and of course, the urge to run when you find yourself in a strange situation is never easy to fight. some may be tempted to. some may be tempted to leave their little group behind and brave the storm for themselves, but.. sooner or later, they're about to find out that is a very wrong choice.

leave your little hiding spot only to find out that outside.. is completely different than you remember it.

a storm rages, making it impossible to see anything past the rain.

and that is not all, is it?

make it a few steps out of your little hiding spot only to find.. a monster, unlike anything you have seen before. now, this little beast can take many forms and.. some might be familiar to some of the guests of the festival, no?

a dementor, right out of the walls of azkaban.

a werewolf, with it's bite fatal to any and all vampires.

a demogorgon, straight out of the upside down.

a clicker, with a bite fatal to any and all.

and that is not all. who knows what kind of beasts are lurking in the corners, after all, just waiting to get their hands on a new victim? you don't know how to defeat them.

but maybe.. maybe someone in your group will know how. maybe.. that's the key, when it comes to surviving the night, is it not? work together and get out. work together and find your loved ones. remain alone and suffer the consequences.

the choice is yours.

the magic of london has once again decided to strike!! the visitors of the festival find themselves trapped inside, divided and scattered throughout the grounds, with nothing but strangers and a few familiar faces to keep them company. if they're lucky. and if they get the wish to step outside and attempt to find a way out of the carnival? well, that would not be very easy, considering there are dangers lurking in every corner and.. who even knows if there's a way out, hm?

hello and welcome to our second plot drop, friends! as we all know, these are usually chaos, so.. who didn't see this coming? anyways! as you know, we asked for volunteers a little while back and here is the reason! characters were divided into groups and below, you can see the list! *for those who didn't choose specific characters to sign up, one of your characters was added to the lists at random as to keep everyone involved. now, remember - these groups have found themselves scattered throughout the festival grounds and are in no way near one another and so, if anyone wishes to leave in order to find their loved ones or to find a way out.. well, they better be prepared to find a few dangers lurking around the corner! without further ado - here are the groups and a little map to show how further apart they are!

SOME HOUSEKEEPING!!

feel free to continue threads from the event itself!! especially if it explains how your character ended up running into a loved one or fighting them right before the fog hit - feel free to! all event threads should be tagged wal:autumnfest and all plot drop threads should be tagged wal:plotdrop2!

now - you might ask - can i only have threads with the people in my group? absolutely not! while we encourage everyone to thread with the people in their assigned group and plot out aspects - seeing as these might be characters who haven't interacted with one another in the past - you don't have to do just this! say that your character is brave enough to venture into the storm and ends up finding a loved one who did the same thing? perfect! say that they end up running into a complete stranger in the middle of the chaos, who knows how to defeat one of the beasts? even better! it is all up to you and to whatever you plot with everyone else - that is what this is for! for that sweet, sweet drama and future chaos!

is there a way out of the festival, one can ask? yes, there is. although the doors will open exactly once the clock strikes midnight once more - a day afterwards... a way out can certainly be found until then. does it come without consequences, however? oh, no. a werewolf bite? a run in with a vampire? an attack by a dementor? that is entirely up to you! let imagination run wild! however, as always - we ask for all major plots to be ran through the main and through us!

what about the loved ones of the people inside, one might ask? well, they're outside, of course! waiting, waiting and desperately looking for a way inside. and won't you look at that.. what better way to make friends than with people who are going through the exact same thing that you are? you never know. unlikely allies can be found in the strangest of places and perhaps, together, you can find a way in, but.. be careful with what you let out. no one wants monsters running around london. anymore than the ones we already have, that is.

the plot drop starts now and continues onwards, so.. as always - please feel free to ask if you have any questions and have fun!!!

Gray clouds seem to be permanently sunken into the sky above Hackenwoods, Illinois, and they come with the feeling there's something rotting inside of you. Or maybe, something rotten.

No one visits here. In fact, I'm pretty sure no one wants to be here. Missing people posters litter the street posts in this small town of less than 6k, and if you're wrestling with the paranoia that something bad is going to happen, you're probably right. For some inexplicable reason, we just are here. And, for some even more inexplicable, insane reason, it's home.

REVIVAL is a 21+ semi-appless horror rpg based on discord. it focuses on the lives of canon horror characters and oc victims in an alternate universe mashup location (child's play, scream, anoes, and halloween) called Hackenwoods, Illinois. please note that while some topics are strictly forbidden, other dark topics such as death will be explored. honestly, here to just have fun and play out some of my favorite characters of all time!
